Freelancer.com best scam freelancer site

Sad to say, freelancer go worse and worse and worse over time.

When it was getafreelancer.com it was a great site. I worked almost full time with it, then it becomes freelancer.com. Things start to change, it becomes unreliable to work with, flooded with fake projects, account suspended with no apparently reason, withdraws removed with no alert - you wait your money and OPS! you check the site and your request disappear! You contact the support, you get only copy-pasted answers. Monthly subscription increased in $ with LESS advantages than before.

Wish someone will open an alternative as clearly from when it goes big and change ownershipe it goes from the best freelancer site to the best SCAM freelancer site.

Yes its true, Please check my profile I a very old user of this site, More than 75 reviews, 5 star rating and won 17 contest, but I have to say that they are stealing designers money.
This is to aware all provider about freelancer.com fraudent behavior.
I won few contests on freelancer.com recently
http://www.freelancer.com/contest/contest.php?project_id=6930
client paid me but, freelancer.com not allowed me to withdraw the fund to my bank saying that client's details are not verified.
My question is why don't freelancer.com verify these details before any one posting the job. once someone posted a job and I worked on it and now I'm unpaid for done work. Is not it cheating.

2nd one
https://www.freelancer.com/contest/contest.php?project_id=9519
I participated in this job after checking that client details are verified. His email, profile and payment, all are verified.
I feel that I will get money for this contest. I won and client paid me. I withdraw some money into my bank account. Now freelancer.com Reversed All Prize Awarded and my account is showing negative balance.
They also closed his account So that I can't communicate with him and deleted the contest to end all possibilities to communication with him.
I honestly worked on contest and need money for done work. if a client is fraud than Freelancer.com is responsible for this. I will not pay for negative balance. Instead I will love to leave the freelancer.com and soon you will realize that this kind of behavior by freelancer.com will lead to close this website

As a freelancer with 5.0 stars rating and almost 30 reviews I agree - freelancer.com's politics and terms are awfull for freelancer. I've been decieved by employers few times, losed money, time and reputation, but in terms of this site - it's normal and my fail only.

Freelancer.com freelancer.com scamed for about $500

Freelancer.com scamed my $500. Freelancer.com blocked my account without any reason. Customer support has no activity. Few tickets in their support service just lost. No activity for 6 months! Online support did not respond.
Support knows that they are scam. And they continue to scam.
I expecting from freelancer.com detailed reason to block account, so long customer support, return my money back.

Basic process is okay, but the site is greedy and sets up its policies to punish you. Take my example. I use the service, do a job, its okay. I add two hundred dollars into the account, then my project stalls. So I leave the funds in freelancer. When I go back later to start a different project my account is empty. The funds have 'expired' somehow. I look...

Hi Chaim S.,

My name is Max and I work for Freelancer.com. I came across your post here at complaintsboard.com and we appreciate the feedback.

First, I’d like to assure you that Freelancer.com will only suspend or freeze accounts to verify a user’s identity or the transactions done through the site. A user will also get suspended if they violate Freelancer.com policies. Once suspended, we request the user to contact us and resolve his/her account issues.

If in case the suspended account has funds, please do not worry. The money inside an account will not go anywhere nor will it be used in anyway whatsoever. It will be made available once the account suspension has been lifted.

We want you to continue on with your projects and earn income. That is why our dedicated Customer Support Teams will help you lift your account suspension by asking you to go through our account and transaction verification procedures. Sometimes we will require submission of high resolution photos of ID and other documents to further validate a user’s identity. I assure you that there is no cause for concern as these information will only be used for its intended purpose. We respect privacy rights which is why our Privacy Policy was created to demonstrate our firm commitment to it.

These policies and procedures in place are meant to provide a safe environment for freelancers and employers alike.

As always, we have taken into account your feedback about our services and support. We will endeavour to improve on the work that we do to serve you better.

Should you have further concerns, please send an e-mail to max@freelancer.com and we’ll address them immediately.

This web site is scam. I honestly completed work for one of the projects on their website and received $150 to my account balance on freelancer.com. But I couldn't withdraw the funds - they just cancelled withdrawal request. I contacted their support and they said that my customer issued chargeback and that's why they cannot give me my money. Freelancer.com poor customer service from freelancer.com

Complete and utter dismay from freelancer.com - no wonder so many complaints and problems with them (Freelancer.com).
After submitting job, and acceptance - the programmer was unable to work on the site, so stopped work - he then "hacked" the website so the functioning did not work. I raised 2 tickets with Freelancer.com - both unanswered.

Do not risk your work with Freelancer.com - far too many bad stories.

Use website professionals, you buy cheap - you buy twice!

They reply very slow on purpose. Non-existent customer service. I agree with all the reviews here that they do not care about the users, no consideration of your situation even though you have already explained to them countless of times, they wont listen to your request and gave you petty solution instead.

I am regretting the day I use this company. Greedy company, charging fees for every little minuscule detail, Milking money as much as possible from a project.

I am very disappointed.

I have been struggling to withdraw my earnings from Freelancer for two months now. Their system of creating a milestone is supposed to protect all parties involved as it holds the employer's deposit until the project is approved or cancelled. They strongly recommend it and I followed their guidelines. Everything went well the amount reflected in my Freelancer account but it took 2 months to get. I finally got an email in the last week stating that the employer's money never cleared and they have deducted it from my account, although they happily kept the commission they took on the project even though payment wasn't made. I think firstly they shouldn't have allowed me to believe that the deposit was ready and waiting if it hadn't yet in fact been deposited. I went ahead on the job knowing the milestone would protect me and that was clearly false information. Secondly when I try to sort it out with their support team they send you in circles and don't actually do a thing. Eventually I contacted the employer directly and he assures me that the full amount was debited from his account. How do I escalate this? How do I find out which side is the cause of the error? Freelancer's attitude is that it's not their problem and they're terribly sorry about that. $#@! They've honestly done nothing but cost me time and money. I do not recommend them at all. Their support team is weak and it feels like a scam to me.

Horrible customer service in general, extremely unprofessional and don't seem to care at all to who they're talking to (their customers). Specifically one person in particular: Kamil Chwiedosik who had sent threats saying that if $7, 000 wasn't sent over he would turn to slander to put a friend of mine down. The fact that the man was this desperate to do this move speaks volumes about the company itself. Disregards everyone and is an absolute trash company, not worth any decent man's time or money. Horrible prior experiences can assure this. Take it from us all skip this company and go find a better alternative.

Hi All,

I agree, of all the tech services I've used online Freelancer.com has by far the worst customer service. Here is why:

I put on a bid, and then spent 1 week to do due diligence on all the bids. I then find a decent freelancer, and when I try to pay the milestone their checkout system fails. This has happened 4-5 times earlier, and after a couple of emails front and back they can normally resolve it. This is not ideal, but I find it okay for a growing tech company.

Just after I solved the payment issue they closed my account without warning, and without any reason. I send them an email, and this is what I get back.:

"Thank you for contacting our Support Desk.

Your account has been closed by Freelancer.com administrator. We offer no recourse or rebuttal for this penalty.

It is stated in our Terms & Conditions that Freelancer.com may terminate the participation of a user if we think that they are creating problems, legal liabilities (actual or potential), infringing someone else's intellectual property rights, engaging in fraudulent, immoral or illegal activities, or for other similar reasons. See the Section 23 of the Terms & Conditions for your reference.

To view our Terms and Conditions, you may visit this link:

- User Agreement for Freelancer.com
http://www.freelancer.com/page.php?p=info/terms"

As most people can tell this is just copy pasted to everyone that asked why their account is closed down. I sent another email and I get the same copy pasted answer again.

I decide to create a new account, and repost the project. After 3 days, they close my new account. Again, without any reason. I send them a 1, 5 page email to understand what I'm doing wrong, and I get this back:

"Thank you for contacting Freelancer.com Support.

We appreciate your feedback regarding our website and support. However, the closure of your account is due to the violation of our Terms and Conditions. Having said this, the option for us to lift the account closure is not available anymore."

This time, it's not a completely copy and pasted answer, but still another wage confusing answer. I find the last sentence interesting since I wrote them an email a couple of minutes after they canceled my account.

Since they cancel accounts left, and right without reason, and don't treat their customers with any respect, I'd recommend anyone reading this to use other services such as odesk.com, and elance.com.

I find freelancer.com a great example of a tech company that is growing too fast, and completely neglected the quality of their customer support.

They are real scammers. If a fraudulent employer has got money from unknown source to his freelancer account and uses that money to pay the freelancer then after some days, money is returned back to the employer's account and then to its actual source but worker is never paid. SHAME ON FREELANCER.COM
They have great mismanagement. Very bad Customer Support, i tried many times to ask the Customer Support to solve the issue but they said i should personally contact the employer. What the hell... They are real scammers.
STAY AWAY FROM FREELANCER.COM

Hello to all,

I am sad to say, that as a person with much experience on customer service and working in and with companies from all kinds,

FREELANCER.COM is with no doubt at all - THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER MET.

Here are the reasons:

1) Bad website, bad coding, many errors and issues with the website.

2) Unprofessional management and approach to their clients. For example, what kind of a low email text is that:
"If you don't respond, the offer will be automatically declined and another Freelancer will be hired. You're alyssaotoole's first choice so don't let your competitors take your job!"

It's like a teenager wrote that without even thinking. Or like a criminal who is telling you what to do and what is good for you.
Just a shame of a company. period.

3) All their customer servies agents, ALL of them, are unprofessionals, not personal, robots, don't care about you, don't care about your situation, don't listen, don't pay attention to your requests. All they do is read the TOS and send it to you without any conciduration to your situation or issue. It's litteraly like they are trying to d it on purpose and to fail you or to go againts you. And if I am writing this, believe me, it happend to me too many times. Maybe 90% of the times I contact their support, I am just amazed of the dusrespectful customer service they have to offer. A BIG SHAME.

Unfortunately, I already started to built my reputation there, and it is still a platform to find clients, and it is doing the job eventually,
But as for the people who run it - A TERRIBLE DISASTER . A BIG SHAME FOR ANY KIND OF COMPANY.
And I really think someone should do something about it, and quick.

@Lostbusinessfromfreelancer,

Hello. My name is Max and I work for Freelancer.com. I regularly visit complaintsboard.com to address user concerns about Freelancer.com and I came across your post here.

It is unfortunate that you had a bad experience with this programmer. I’d like to assure you that there are thousands of great programmers waiting for you at the site.

To further ensure that you work with best freelancers, consider ones that have high Reputation. The higher their ratings are (5 stars being the best) the more reliable the freelancer is. Check on the work that they've done and the feedback they received from previous employers. Also, please make sure you take notice of the freelancer’s profile and see how well they communicate and how much thought they’ve put into it.

I’d like to apologize if our Customer Support did not respond promptly to your tickets. Normally, our Support Teams are quick to respond to filed tickets, e-mailed concerns and requests for chat. Still, I’ve forwarded this incident to our Customer Support Managers and we’ll conduct our own investigation on the matter.

I’d like to help you as well. Please send your username and the Project ID to max@freelancer.com. I’ll look into your case for you and assist in resolving your issues. We’ll also investigate the freelancer that you worked with.

Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon.

Freelancer.com Heft

Hello,

So I used freelancer.com for a few projects successfully, and had opened 2 accounts. One for a bbusiness I was involved in and another for my personal use. I have paid all programmers on time for both accounts using different email (one for company) and different funding sources. This was evidently required by the company (would make no sense to mix my personal work with that of the company i work for)

At one point I made a complaint about the time it would take to retrieve some funds I mistakenly deposited in the wrong account. I did not mention I had 2 accounts.

As a results of my complaint, Freelancer.com locked both accounts, claimed some breach of terms and refused to refund the moneys deposited there. Please note that this money was deposited there for future payments! Both accounts had positive balances in the range of $800.

So lesson learned, they use crooked policy and long delays in making sure to steal funds from honest people.

Also please note that 95% of freelancers on this site are not what they claim. They are smarter street dudes that bid on projects, then run around their town (India mostly) and try to find someone to do the job. Most of the time it will be a waste of time. One successful project I had contracted seemed like a legit business, but the level of competence was very low for the employees and high for the boss. Of course you deal with the boss, who is quite competent but when time comes to deliver, it gets very bad.

BEWARE !

Freelancer.com Multiple debits from my paypal account

I was a first time user of Freelancer after they purchased Scriptlance. I had transferred money into my account to pay a service provider. I clicked on transfer within the project, but it didn't appear to do anything. In actuality, every time I clicked on it, Freelancer would debit the money from Paypal again. They debited the money from my account 5 times! NO other place on the web has ZERO confirmation that someone is actually making a payment. Someone could accidentally click on the transfer button. This is a terrible payment method. I will NEVER use them again.

Had I been aware of the mountains of complaints against Freelancer.Com, I would never have considered putting my project up for bid there. What I got was one scam artist after another...each with a slick huckster line ready to promote themselves as being ready to perform jobs which were clearly far and away above their heads. To date I have lost over $5, 000 on the scam artists which frequent this online scam system. Given the amount of money which I have personally lost, and the THOUSANDS of complaints against them which have been made by others, this company cannot be viewed as anything other than a dedicated online wire fraud system. I urge EVERYone to register a complaint against them with your State Attorney General and DEMAND an investigation...make them open their books and explain why they have consistently participated in online fraudulent activities in exchange for "a piece of the action". Let us never forget that every time these people accept money which was obtained from third party scammers, they became just as guilty as those who lie about their abilities for profit. Despite any "agreement" which they may try to hold up as protecting them from prosecution, there is NO contractual agreement in existence which will keep the owners of this fraud factory out of jail. You cannot break the law and claim that its ok because of something you wrote on a piece of paper in advance. Wire Fraud is STILL a crime ! PROSECUTE !

Freelancer.com They stolen my my in front of me

Horrible customer service, group of frauds, it's seems they completely stolen my money in front of me, it's too hard to believe I have done all project successfully on time on budget even they given me 5.0 rating you can check my a/c (teknowgen), my total earning for 5 project is $ 157... I request for withdrawal $30 as my 1st testing withdrawal and successfully received in my paypal a/c, after that I request for rest of money status was ready but they denied my request, I complained to support team, they told me that there is some telephonic verification process pending from client side so we are helpless to process your withdrawal, I don't know what they are doing, any ways I have personally messaged my all client to do telephonic verification and they done except one client (project cost $35), it mean now I can withdrawal at least $80, but they are keen declining my withdrawal request... and now they are not even replying,... if any one reading my complain please note this is wrong way to get money, that's why you are keep loosing faith, improve your customer service, if telephonic verification is too important then why you not did this between project, why you haven't mailed me regarding this issue...

Elance also does phone verification. None of their client gets an account or a freelancer without the phone verification. Its Freelancer.com's responsibility to not let any un-verified client post a bid until his/her account requirements are 100% complete. Also in any situation the freelancer/service provided should be intimated for such issues before project start.

Freelancer.com This company is unreliable and pointless

It's an awful website, please avoid registering on it. I have completed a job, uploaded the files through Freelancer.com's system, and the employer witheld payment, requesting further modifications from me, even though the job has been completed exactly the way we have agreed upon previously. Obviously, he wanted to get away with a freebie. And here comes the other part of the problem: I have contacted Freelancer.com's support, and they were completely unable to help; they said it has to be settled between employer and freelancer. In other words, this website is nothing more than a message board, only the take part of your money.

Please beware. This company is unreliable and pointless.

They block clients' as well as freelancers' accounts and get the money. That is their business model. Their ceo seem to be clever and lunatic at the same time. If you see his profile on fb he declared himself as female and when asked about this by one of the workers on their fb page he gave a funny answer. Stay away and spread this message as much as possible if you are their victim.

Very true, I agree 100%. This is the complaint I have seen on many Social Media sites as well... We must spread the word - before they fool more people.

Freelancer.com Illegal exchange rate

Hi all

I am am one of the victim of Freelancer.com. First time user from UK i wish i could find this blog before paying money to them.

I did deposit 480 USD (They charged me 492 USD) to my account.

I was trying to create milestones for project,

4 pieces of 120 USD

I did not realised that it is on GBP then i did cancel it. All money came back to my GBP account. I converted them to my USD account.

When i deposited i had

£ 5 and $ 480 in my account.

When i converted i see that i have

$441.52 and £5.00 i have so i lost 38.48 USD in seconds?

USD and GBP exchange rates doesnt change like that in a second? I know the market. I know that guys would like to get profit but that is cheating. There is no that much high profit in Money Exchange Market? And it is impossible.

Then i emailed them and Costumer Service was terrible. They just said they can not fix it and to give my money back they offered more than 2 weeks?

This is scam. I cannot accept it. They can not charge users that much exchange rate this is insane. This is a big scam.

I don't know what to do to be honest. I claimed to get it back on Paypal but it is going to take ages. And they will keep my money god knows for how long.

Shame to do business like that.

Thanks for listening :(

I think we should chat with client and aware him/her for illegal rates and regulations.
Whenever you write email id for personal mail to client freelancer warn you and him/her to stay protected. So here is solution freelancer didnt deduct these words
1)make a jpeg of email id and payment discussion
2) put dot on every letter like( thedesignerz@gmail.com) t.h.e.d.e.s.i.g.n.e.r.z.(at) g.m.a.i.l.c.o.m
So by these step you can get rid of illegal tax rate and for payment you can use other souces and skrill is best for that purpose

I never thought I'd be in a position to look up fine print, but yeah, there's this in their terms and conditions:
45. No Class Actions
You and we agree that you and we will only be permitted to bring claims against the other only on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative action or proceeding. Unless both you and we agree otherwise, the arbitrator may not consolidate or join more than one person's or party's claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of a consolidated, representative, or class proceeding. In addition, the arbitrator may award relief (including monetary, injunctive, and declaratory relief) only in favour of the individual party seeking relief and only to the extent necessary to provide relief necessitated by that party's individual claim(s). Any relief awarded cannot affect other Users.

@Elbar79 I lost a measly $4 but yeah, this is egregiously dishonest. I can't imagine what it would be like uf ai had more m i ney passing through them. You'd think Australia's white collar crime division would do something given the number of reports. I'd be willing to sign anything that is used for reporting them.

I just got hit with the currency exchange scam on freelancer.com

This is actually illegal in Australia and the EU.

At it's most basic level Freelancer.com is executing an illegal Dynamic Currency Exchange, which has already been ruled against many times most recently against Visa who were fined 18million AUD.

I suspect with freelancer they are actually operating an unlicensed foreign exchange brokerage to illegally profit (they exchange at upto 10% above the wholesale rate).

Would anyone be interested in finding out more and making a joint complaint to the regulator if I did the donkeywork?

Freelancer has became a great scammer in the world.
Its full of scam buyers and lots of scam programmers.
I have worked with freelancer for 5+ years. they never care about scammers and provide no support and wont protect neither buyer or worker.

Thy are only looking at new ways to steal our money. they invited some certificate things and charge us to take exams, if we dont we can not bid on many projects.

Thy have made different currencies, so he can steal more because of their illegal ridicules exchange rate.

I got charged for few projects, because buyer rewarded a project to me, and buyer changed his mind and never answered me!
i got charged for nothing and earned nothing.

i hope they were something we could do, im struggling making money for my educations and i have no other choice even though im very skilled in my work.

Hi turantekin,

I am so sorry reading your complaint. I am an illustrator and I worked on freelancer.com until recently. This company is without a doubt, a huge scam. Why? Well my friend, because the exact same thing happened to me. That being only ONE of the problems I have with them. Their exchange rate is illegal. They try to rob and scam people, both freelancers and clients (buyers). It's a shame. I have stopped working with them now. They allow scam freelancers to roam around, as they allow scam buyers. Their e-mail support and live support chat is absolutely ridiculous. They offer no help at all, and all they do is tell you there is nothing they can do. It is clear they are all trying to do one thing: scam you.
There are HUNDREDS of user complaints both from freelancers and buyers about their site. Just search on google. 90% of these involve freelancer.com STEALING their money, blocking accounts as soon as they break 200$, charging buyers TWICE and overall robbing people. And even worse, Freelancer.com just bought/acquired Vworker.com. They are a millionaire company, growing by stealing money, and getting away with it. I would personally take this into my own hands if I could, and sue their ###. But I am just a freelancer looking for work. I cannot afford that.

Well in short mate, don't feel so bad. There are HUNDREDS in your situation and even worse. Oh and did you ever get your money back?

Thank you for sharing.

Freelancer.com This site has become the epitome of online outsourcing by exploiting the workers of third world countries

This site has become the epitome of online outsourcing by exploiting the workers of third world countries. It is a site where freelance employees from around the world, register, pay a monthly fee, proceed to pay fees to take a number of required examinations devised for candidates to prove their knowledge, they then bid on employment contracts for what amounts to be only a couple of dollars per day because you also pay a percentage of what meager funds you might be able to squeeze from a potential employer. The "article writing" section, for example, pays an average of $2 per 300-500. While managing a business some years ago, we paid a firm $3k to design a logo. The average fee for logo design on this site: $25.

Hello

I am filling this complaint form and also address myself to other institutions regarding the fraud that the company freelancer.com which is registered in australia as: freelancer.com suite 501, 35 lime street sydney, new south wales australia 2000 acn [protected]. I have been awarded with a project and paid 1120 usd. the company freelancer.com refused to release the funds and asked for ids from me and from my employer. after all these were submitted they started to ask question after question regarding the projects in order to delay the payment and they refuse to handle the situation. I must say that different people asked questions to whom I have answered but they still refuse to release the payment. they have also requested photos of me holding my id although this was not stipulated in their terms and conditions. I am going to fill a report to the australia police and also in sweden. this
Company must be held responsible for what they do to people that uses their service.

Because of their action I cannot provide the job I have been awarded and also I have lost the business contact with the person who paid me.

I can sustain with evidence all of the above mentioned.

l would like to issue a complaint about the company Freelancer.com that is based in NSW, Australia.

Two times I have entered logo design competitions with outcomes that concern fraud.

The most recent instance, was for the Azurix logo competition (that finished over a month ago).

Anyone can go online to Freelancer.com and submit a competition, in this instance it was an Australian man who wanted a new logo for his IT company.

I submitted a design and he ranked it 1 of 2 ‘Top Entries’ in the competition (out of several hundred designs), he also ranked other people through give them lower amounts of ‘stars’ (like you do when you rate things in general).

The competition ended but he did not pick a winning entry. So Freelancer stated on the page:

‘The contest is now locked as the contest holder did not choose a winning entry within 14 days of the contest closing. As the contest is guaranteed, the prize will be automatically shared amongst the top entries in."

The Prize money was $500 AUD.

There was only 2 top entries, my design was 1 of them. There for Freelancer owed me $250 AUD. They only paid me $57.14 AUD, so they owe me $192.86 AUD. They also withheld the prize money ffor no given reason at all.

They said they have not paid me the full amount because they decided to pay money by their star system and not the ‘Top Entries’. Yet their website clearly states that they would give the money to the ‘Top Entries’.

From what I can gather, I believe that they are not distributing the prize money properly, but are keeping some of the money for themselves. Otherwise they should state who they are giving the money too and what designs. It’s total fraud!

The other complaint is towards having competitions without a guaranteed winner. I submitted a design amongst 100 other designers for the Mr Tailor Logo competition 6 weeks ago. Just before the competition ended, the competition holder ‘cancelled’ the competition, running off with over 100 different logo designs and not have paid a cent (except to Freelancer.com). The competition holder could have been from an agency and made direct profit from showing all those logos to a client. Fraud again!

If you Google, ‘Complaint Freelancer.com’ you will see hundreds of review by people having used the site, and being completely taken for a ride.

Now they have stolen another $16 from my account!
Complete and utter fraud.

Freelancer.com Be careful, they are scam

Be careful, they are SCAM. I opened account for our legally registered company, hire one person for one work and put $150 in milestone. Day after this they immediately suspend our account with $200 in full balance, after I provide ID from me and they still refuse to reinstate account with our money in. They need to reply/if 2-3 days, before I upload funds in account they reply in less than 1hr always. They can not require any ID from own customers as they dont have this in terms of service and they are not any type of bank.

THEY JUST WANT THAT YOU UPLOAD FUNDS AND THEN YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN, I already call my bank for Chargeback so I will not have loss, but il never again use it!

I've read so many complaints about freelancer.com!! Could ever imagine they were so many users with the same problem as mine!... My account was being suspended at the preset date my withdrawn would take place. The suspension became without a warning. The reason was because they discovered that I had a double account. In fact my husband has an account too...

Freelancer.com Scam

Freelancer.com is scam! I have had my account suspended twice! The first time they suspended my account happened a few months ago. I had about $1000 on my account and eventually lost all the earnings (I worked as a freelancer) and got my account terminated. After some time passed I decided to register another account on Freelancer.com. Now the account is suspended again! I have earned $700 that I have had no chance to withdraw. Seems frustrating, isn't it? But I am fine :) They may have my account suspended and terminated, my money stolen, but those swindlers will not be able to steal my knowledge. Omnia mea mecum porto! :)

I will never work on Freelancer.com again because Freelancer.com is scam. Wanna lost your money and waste your time, be sure to visit Freelancer.com! :) That is what I would suggest anyone interested in working on Freelancer.com. So, stay away from it or you may end up writting your own complaints on Complaintsboard.com. ;)

Guys! Let's cooperate against Freelancer.com! My email address is kill-freelancer.[protected]@yandex.ru Feel free to drop me a line!

I had a long time account and was negotiations with a coder and all of sudden without warning my account was closed. I sent an email to support multiple times to resolve this issue and get a refund from my account to no avail. I was told to wait 48 hours for the right team to contact me, and no contact at 72 hours, so I sent another message to support to refund my money. Everytime you turn around they hit you with fees if you use PayPal to make deposits, then they hit you again when you create a milestone, and I understand the freelancers get hit with fees also. I am sick and tired of Free Lancer and all of the bull. If you're looking for a freelancer my advice is to steer clear of this International organization as I was warned multiple times by my bank that the funds were going through multiple international banks.

I joined freelancer.com back in 2010 under username TRACERSA . I worked day and night to establish that profile and after so much of hard work i managed to get 787 REVIEWS, 100% completion rate, 100% on time, 100% on budget and repeat hire rate 49%

Due to an UN INTENTIONAL violation they closed my account . They closed it with a very good TRICK, infact they cheated

Some screenshots of my profile and support email where they said all is good and still they closed it

let me tell all of you what happened with complete proof

I have worked with a customer under freelancer assistance, so called a RECRUITER project and once all was done, customer reversed the payment and i asked the support to help and they said, they cannot do anything if reversal is done

after a week same customer came with new username, i worked he did the same, i didnt knew it before he again reversed the payment and told in chat, STUPID I AM THE SAME GUY, i again informed the support and they did nothing

3rd time again same guy came under new username and location. just to confirm it he is same person or not, i told him i will not work via freelancer i will work via SKRILL, just to test him and check so if he is the same guy he would have not agreed.

he was not the same person, and i took the payment via freelancer, so that i dont breake the RULE, , , then after no where a month afterwards he told freelancer support that i asked him for the payment outside, though we made payment onsite, they issued me with a warning stating i should not do this again, i said sorry and they said not repeat it and i said sure and again said sorry

then after a few days, the recruiter/support agent asked me for a skype call so that they can ask me a few questions, i did that and i was told, now all is good, i am good to work again .. i said sorry again and told them i will not repeat that mistake again and made them feel okay ..

then he asked me a few questions which REALLY shocked me

1- It is not possible to have such stats . there must me some thing fishy . These are his exact words ... i told that agent, my working technique is, i never accept the project, once i complete it, , customer is happy then i accept and take payment . that is the main reason i am able to have such stats

2- He asked me, why i am taking offsite payments, i told him, proof me or send me one screenshot where i asked for outside/off site payment except on that only occasion, he had no answer to it

NOTE: He was just trying to look for any reason to close the profile, i still dont know why

In short after having lots of chats and tickets etc, i was told that i am all good and can continue to work . but before that i need to finish IN PROGRESS projects with perfection

i worked days and night to finish them ASAP .. when i did and received the payments, they SIMPLY closed my account

they claim that i violated TOS many times, just to give them an answer if they are reading, , , there is no where mention in any TOS of preferred freelancer that new task cannot be taken in new project.. i have worked or served this site for 10 years i never knew this, once they informed me i never did it . and they then keep on digging into old projects like 1 year ago... hats off to their team, they clear me or inform me today that i dont repeat this and they checking 1 year or even 2 year old project if i did in old project ... Still i paid all the fee for all projects by pointing myself to get rid of it

In last 8 years i got 2 warning, , , which were not server as they are not clear or mentioned anywhere ... Even their preferred test dont have any such question which state NEW TASK from RECRUITER client cannot be taken in new project

Must add this point in your test so people can be aware of this mysterious hidden rule. I can bet you all, they will never sort this issue as they are a bunch of robbers, playing with others

Freelancer is totally scam. Its not working for Freelancers who are working hard and completes employers project and waiting to get paid but they are carefully listening to employers even they are fraud or scammers. This is third time they limited my bidding system and forcing me to refund the money to employer for the work which i already completed and get payment. After getting payment by the employer for completed work employer made a false allegations about my work via support ticket and asked support for refund and Support team without checking everything and reading my discussion with employer directly restricted my bidding system. Complete fraud platform. Not recommended also going to make people aware about my bad experience and i will post my review throughout the web..

Attempted to steal my bank account.
Imagine my surprise tonight when my husband and I went out to eat and my card was declined? Immediately went home and found "Freelancer.com" had several attempts today to take money out of my bank account. Thank goodness my bank locked down my card and it is now closed. I don't have a clue how they got my information but don't trust this company. I have never had any dealings with them. I have filed a fraud complaint that will be followed up on. Crooks.

I created freelancer account and deposited funds in the account. Funds was 200 $. From that day, I did not make any transaction. I did not hire any person, I only deposited funds.

Yesterday they close my account and got the money by saying you have violated Clause 23.

When I did not use my account from a week, I only deposited funds in there, How I violate the terms?

They are playing with me and took the money, They are scammers. They are not replying on tickets. i also text them on Facebook but no hopeful response...

Why ?

I was charged $390 for a $250 project. I never received my model and contacting customer service is impossible. I filed a dispute with my cc company but it seems Freelance has done their homework and had some fine print contract that allows them to be paid without customer satisfaction. The above complaints reflect my story so I won't bother repeating the same. Bottom line FREELANCE is a scam that is raking in millions. Buyer beware.

Freelancer.com Refused to reverse fees of $150 after reversing project fee

Got a project on their site. Was paid an advance. Was charged $150 for the job, started the job. The client suddenly charged back the amount. I complained as follows: I received this message from you: "We are writing to inform you that the payment you received for "xxxxxxxxxxxx"' has been reversed. We received a charge back from the payment gateway and in accordance with our terms and conditions we've reversed the funds. I suggest that you stop working on this project and contact the buyer to resolve the issue. "
I responded " Since no payment has been paid to me (rather, your website has wasted my time by putting me in touch with doubtful characters). I owe you no payment. Please reverse the 10% you were taking from me as a commission. I shall make payment only if I am paid."

They replied" Unfortunately, commission fees are no longer refundable once the project has already been awarded to a Provider. Please contact your Buyer regarding your reversed payment and please make sure to settle the negative balance of $150 within 35 days to avoid your account from getting suspended."
I think this is unfair and arbitrary. They protect themselves, but refuse to protect you. Why should I be charged for deficiency of services from their end? Can some one get me justice?
Mean while, beware of this site and avoid it.

Same thing happen to us, 4 times in last 35 days, Freelancer really sucks,
I am in total loss of ~1000 USD

I was member of Scriptlance before freelancer acquired Scriptlance, I never faced any fraudulent issues with Scriptlance. I am also using Elance and ODesk(not often) no issues till now.

I request other freelancer who read this post not to use freelancer.com, They don't give proper explanation, Their standard answer
"The funds you have received from your employer, *****, on your project "*************" was reversed because they currently have account issues. We would appreciate if you can contact them and ask them to communicate with us for us to assist them regarding this matter. Once they are able to resolve their account issues, the funds will be reinstated accordingly"

If we can directly talk to employer and can manage payment directly then why we are paying project fees to you ?

Freelancer.com - Please improve your verification process, currently anyone is coming and making fraud with your freelancers

The website caters to a wide range of industries, including but not limited to writing, graphic design, web development, and digital marketing.
