Freedom Mortgage mortgage refinance

Currently trying to refinance with Freedom Mortgage and it's taking over 3 months. My husband and I have great credit, make very good money, have twice the necessary equity in our home, have never been late for a single payment and yet they are giving us the hardest time, looking for anything to nit pick at.

There is clearly an issue with this company. I wish we had gone with a local bank who could have had this loan done 2 months ago, but we've already paid $500.00 for the appraisal. They have been saying just 1 more week, every week for the past several months. I fear it will never end!

Dont walk, RUN away from this company!Ugh!

We have also had a horrible experience, and have pulled out the re-finance all together. Freedom Mortgage - Applied for a refinance 10/15/16 and was approved for a no fee no closing cost loan. Delays from the personnel, which I know believe to have been done on purpose, caused this particular refinance to span over 4 months. They requested paperwork late, were not good at communicating with me, changed processors and just complete disregard to timing of the loan. The rate lock had to be extended several times due to their incompetent individuals. Finally got a call we would close, was told I would get my paperwork to review the closing. As it turns out, I get someone else s closing paperwork from another property address and then no response when I inquired about it being inaccurate. When i call several times to get the closing docs, finally get them the evening before we were to close the next day. They had tacked on ALL fees and points to the loan, which was solicited to me for MONTHS as a no cost loan. When asked why, they indicated the last rate lock extension was at my cost. I find this very convenient considering my call to close was 2 days after the last rate lock and I was not informed there would be a charge. I feel this is a scam to get people to pay closing costs. Shame on Freedom Mortgage for trying to pull this scam, I feel bad for those who fall for it. I will re-finance my loan...but not with them EVER.

Freedom Mortgage incompetence processing mortgage for home purchase

Our neighborhood has deteriorated over the last 3 years, so my wife and I decided to buy a home in a nicer neighborhood and turn our current home into a rental. Freedom Mortgage bought the mortgage on our current home about 6 months ago, so we figured a new mortgage with them would be an easy process. We were wrong. So very wrong.

From the beginning we have been asked several times to provide the same documents (tax returns, pay stubs, employment verification, sales contract, etc.) It seems that as the mortgage application moves from 1 step to another, it also moves from 1 department to another, WITHOUT the documents we send them. So, we have sent them the same documents 4 times, each time to be told "We don't have such and such documents, can you send it again?"

Their online document delivery/signature system doesn't work, and they can't figure out how to make it work for more than one applicant, so they shipped our application to us overnight for signatures, except they sent it to the wrong address. We got it 3 days later when a neighbor that lives a block away brought it to us, after he opened it. These are documents with our social security numbers and other personal identification information on them! Did I mention our neighborhood isn't the greatest anymore? Thanks to their mistake we now have to place a fraud alert on our credit reports.

They have refused to give us an accurate estimate of closing costs and have repeatedly told us we will have to pay items that the VA and our state do not allow lenders to charge the buyers. They are also telling us we need to pay into escrow at closing the current property tax bill, due in 2 months, that is for last year's taxes, and enough to cover taxes for this year prior to closing. It is not the buyer's responsibility to pay property taxes for a time period before they purchased the home, it is the seller's responsibility to pay the taxes for the time they owned the home.

Now, 3 days before we were scheduled to close, their agent sent an email stating we will not be able to close on time because they don't understand the documents we provided that prove our income and employment. What's hard to understand about the last 4 years' income tax returns and last 4 months' pay stubs? They now want written and signed statements from us explaining so-called discrepancies in our taxes and pay stubs. I've explained in an email that the so-called discrepancies don't exist and are a result of their mathematical errors, but they still want written and signed explanations. I suspect this is an effort on their part to delay closing since they haven't been able to calculate actual closing costs and provide us with the Closing Disclosure that is required by law no later than 3 days prior to closing.

Now, because of their incompetence and unprofessional behavior, we have to ask the seller for an extension of the sales contract, and hope the seller doesn't object, or we lose the house.

So far, everyone we have dealt with at Freedom Mortgage has demonstrated an absolute lack of knowledge, competence and professionalism. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know. In fact, I've told everyone I know to avoid this company like the plague!

Freedom Mortgage home loan for veterans

We are constantly receiving mailing from this company in my wife's name as a veteran. She is not now nor every has been a veteran, which means they are getting their information from some questionable seller of names and addresses. This is of extreme concern as we wonder where else that seller is passing out our personal information (name and address) to. We fear it is a scan if the Freedom Mortgage company doesn't even check the accuracy of the information. I don't know how to stop it as the one time I did try to stop a similar company, my calls only gave them certification that the name and address was correct and we started to get additional mailings from previously unheard of companies. I need some way to get these mailings to cease and desist ASAP. We are up in years and at some time we may start to misunderstand and get sucked in to something we don't need or want.
Latest mailing arrived March 22, 2016. Previous ones about once a week. Lists, "Pre-Approved" for $32, 527 with a card attached with verification number - [protected].I just found some more info - this offer was based on Equifax credit report, or TransUnion or Experian Consumer. ARE THEY ALLOWED TO SELL OR GIVE CREDIT INFO, UNSOLICITED?

Freedom Mortgage incompetent company

Poor customer service! I always make my payments early. To enter the online site there are 6 steps. miss a step or forget an answer and you become locked out. Then it literally took 1 1/2 hours to get back in through many calls and transfers in order to make my payment. I asked to make arrangements for a bi-monthly payment and have now been on hold for 45 consecutive minutes AFTER the hour and a half. I have a little book of all the questions and answers to get into this account so I will not have to attempt speak to them again. Mean while I will spend my next day off looking into refinancing the home with a more reputable/customer oriented business. I was forced into this scenario from another equally incompetent company. Amerifirst mortgage services when they sold me out to these goofballs.

Freedom Mortgage customer service on my mortgage

On Aug. 31, I first began calling Freedom Mortgage, as we had received a letter that my hurricane insurance (walls in) has been dropped for nonpayment.
For weeks -- weeks - we called over and over. At first, they assured us the payment had been overnighted. How do you get that wrong? Freedom Mortgage assured us that the payment had been sent to the correct address and that another letter was sent to our home telling us we were in fact going to be covered. The letter was at our request.
The insurance still has not been paid for one month later by Freedom Mortgage. We also did not get any letter about it being sent in the first place. We haven't received phone calls and e-mails that have been promised us.
These days, they have been telling us that we aren't really paying for the insurance out of our escrow -- so they won't pay for it. And they also are telling us they would never pay for this anyway, as walls in hurricane insurance is not necessary in Hawaii. What?
Every day a different story.
We finally had to pay for the hurricane insurance again -- through our first mortgage company before it was bought by Freedom. They're going to want their money back.
We have yet on Sept. 29 --To have received good customer service or the money back. How about the money we have in escrow for this insurance?
What a waste of a lot of time. Today, I was told by a person higher up in the company that he would help me to be sure I have hurricane insurance, since that's the priority here. Not anymore -- really. The priority now is to hold your company in check. Figure out a way to treat your clients like they matter. This should not have gone on like this and for this long.
No matter what happened here with the insurance, we have been told so many different stories that frankly we deserve a huge apology. And not only that -- we deserve to be told that changed are being made. Does anyone at Freedom Mortgage really care? I wouldn't recommend Freedom Mortgage to anyone. You're paying for a headache.

Freedom Mortgage $400 appraisal scam

Freedom mortgage corporation is a complete "scam" me and my wife where pre-approved for a fha loan on several occasions with this company we where constantly lied too, and convinced by freedom mortgage corporation staff lenders, loan officers, and other workers who help us look for homes only to be ripped off for appraisal money in the amount of $400 dollars.. we came to find out that freedom mortgage corporation does not hire a appraisal company but instead uses their own company and devices for appraisal of homes after pre-approving unsuspecting buyers and new home owners only to denie the pre-approved loans and keep the appraisal money in the end.. I discovered this when researching the appraisal company they claimed to have hired after we had already paid for inspection cost and appraisal to be done.. not to include 10k that was used as a deposit towards this home in las vegas on 1304 jefferson ave. the loan was denied and no information or documentation of denial was given we were only told that the loan was denied because it was too risky after the money had been withdrawn from our accounts, also we were asked to put up 17k as a down payment if we where still interested in purchasing the home! ~ I am presently going over this with my attorney considering we have given all personal info. and documentation to this company as only a result to be lied to ripped off and cheated, not to mention we where told because we where buying a home in las vegas nevada we would need to relocate from our home in salt lake city utah and be able to produce 2 check stubs in the state of nevada before loan could be approved which we did and even took a cut in paywages to do so, although I have been with my previous job for over 5 years in utah they insisted that my working history would not be approved by the underwriter until we where living and working in nevada and could provide atleast 2 paycheck stubs for the loan process.. this makes absolutely no sense and I am warning anyone who decides to use this company to stay and steer far far from it to avoid being scammed and mislead by this fraud company who withdrew the money from my account for the appraisal 15minutes before they called me to tell me I was denied, but made me wait a total of 48hours for a response and decision of denial. fraud! scam! fraud! I will also list all the people involved in this scam I dealt with in my next complaint detail to this board! this company needs to be stopped, stealing from innocent pple!

Freedom Mortgage getting a loan

How long should it take to get a loan when your credit is perfect?
They take forever, delay, and then ultimately you don't get the loan!
Watchout for they will lock in your rate for a very short time and then tell you they need more time and then charge you Thousands to buy them more time to try to perform!
This company is probably the worst I have dealt with!

Freedom Mortgage just horrible all around

Should have known the sign when i did my refinance through FM in 2009. The "mortgage" was written wrong and I ended up $1200.00 neagtive in my escrow so of course that out of nowhere raises my morgage $300.00. Then I get the call that they never paid my home owners - another monthly payment added on. Sooo everything was going ok - they contacted me to do the streamline skip two mortgage payments right around Christmas! sounds great...settlement was moved twice because time was set 4:00 first excuse computer glitch second excuse they fax the documents five minutes before the guy should have been at our house! So February is here i get my tax bill - never paid FM blames the mortgage company. Mortgage payment is made - they can't locate it. My bank has sent everything over to them we are now on five times - almost a month later and i'm told there's a "task" open! It takes two seconds to make the payment I'm sure it takes that same time to apply it! And already frustrated when you call you are on hold over 20 minutes and transferred to another ### that just brushes you off! Have had all i can take will definately be switching mortgage companies after my year!

Freedom Mortgage refinancing

Was contacted by frredom mortgage asking I would like to refinance my home loan... I told them yes, submitted paperwork and waited 2 months for an answer... When I finally got an answer I was told I was approved & that I would not have to make a house payment for 2 months... I was set up with an appointment date & time 3 different dates... For house closing/notarizer... All 3 times they were a no show/no call... Now they tell me ii have to make a house payment right away! This is very misleading, poor consumer service... Their excuse: they had "computer glitches"... And now they want a house payment... After setting up everything...
I would not recommend freedom mortage to anyone... Stay clear of this company!

We currently have mortgage with Freedom and wanted to refi to stay with same company. .We spent two months sending and resending documents. They approved us but then inflated all charges and would not honor our original quotes. So we did not close with them and I am still looking for a good company. I even spoke to a manager supposedly that just juggled and arranged fees to be the same cost with different explanation. They totally were misleading and might have been illegal. I shopped around and had two other quotes that they beat. In the end they wanted more money then my other quotes.

Freedom Mortgage incompetence

First National Bank of Layton Utah called me in early September and sold me on a VA streamlined loan. Well, that was the only thing that went well. Since then the no cost to me, no added fees loan process has cost me $350 for an appraisal (OK, not that big of a deal) and now they continue to add $400 to my closing documents for an appraisal (which I paid for up front). Seems like they are trying to pad their numbers.

I was told the loan process was 4-6 weeks long, then it was 6-8 weeks long...now going on 17 weeks and the closing continues to move because supposedly Freedom Mortgage continues to get the closing numbers worng. I have seen everything from my getting money at closing (which can't happen on a VA streamline) to my paying as much as $3, 000 at closing (no fees huh?). The last GFE showed me paying $3, 000 at closing and another $4, 000 was tacked on to my loan...I have no idea where that came from, but if that happened my loan amount would be over $6, 000 more than I owe today on top of the $3, 000 at closing!

Whatever you do, avoid Freedom Mortgage and First National Bank of Layton at all costs...I don't know which one, or if both, of them are incompetent, but try your luck somewhere else...I am.

Freedom Mortgage I'm so frustrated

We got our mortgage through Freedom in August of 2009. The loan officer that financed us talked to me only. The mortgage is in my husbands name. When they offered to refinance us for a lower rate they called and asked to speak to me. I did everything for the refinance. NOW... When I call they will NOT speak to me, even just to make a payment. I called on Friday trying to make our payment, they wouldn't talk to me without authorization. I had my husband fax over an authorization form for me to talk to them or to make payments from his checking account. Today I called and was on hold for 20 minutes. Then they hadn't updated their system yet and wouldn't speak to me. I asked if I could please just make a payment, they wouldn't do that because the checking account is also only in my husbands name. (We have separate accounts)... It's his mortgage and his checking. I do not understand this. Its so frustrating. All we want to do is pay and they won't let us.

Freedom Mortgage beware

Freedom, which uses loancare to handle your account is borderline loan sharks. They never return phone calls. I'm on the phone with them almost daily. I was forced to refi with another bank and happy to have done it. And, ofcourse they fee'd me to the tune of 1700 dollars...not to mention the 5 bi-weekly payments they seem to have lost. I'm sure they'll figure it out sooner or later ...but meanwhile i get treated like crap while they keep dodging my calls. They are rude most of the time and no one is able to answer a simple question. Please...save yourself alot of headachs, there are plenty of good companys Freedom and LoanCare is not one of them.

Refinanced with freedom Mortgage and when the signing docs arrived, the numbers were all different...much higher fees and a 1/2 percentage point higher interest rate. called Freedom, was told the guy working my loan was fired and he made mistakes on my loan. Was told to sign the papers and could rescind in 3 days if I wanted to. These people use multiple people to confuse you throughout the loan with multiple GFE, numbers, fees, etc. Beware!

Freedom Mortgage taxes/escrow

What a scam Freedom Mortgage is running! I have been in my home for 4 years now and never missed a payment. I refi my home 2 years ago and recently started getting forclosure letters. I called FM to figure out what was going on. They told me my escrow was -3000$ and I was behind 4000$ on my mortgage. How can this be? we figured out the problem was they did not take enough out for taxes after i refinanced... their mistake! They admitted the mistake and to make up for it they raised my mortgage 200$ Now I am still getting forclosure notices for 4000$ My question is where is all my payments going? I am enrolled in bi-weekly so i am actually over paying my montly mortgage. I contacted a lawyer and he said this is not unique situation that it happens all the time. The misfortunate thing is that they can proceed with forclosure if something is not corrected. The lawyer gave me options to deal with FM first to solve the problem and if they dont then I will have to proceed with litigation. All for paying my Mortgage on time!

This is the worst, most incompetent mortgage company, I have ever dealt with. They are completely incapable of setting up an escrow account after repeated attempts to do so by mail, email, phone and through secure messaging on their site. If you litigate, please let me know!

Freedom Mortgage very misleading to their customers

First of all I have never dealt with a company that won't return you phone calls when you need questions answered. I had a tax escrow problem and I called for months and months no-one would return my phone calls. They make mistakes to your account and hold you liable for it. They send out monthly statements with the incorrect dates on them making it look like you are 2 months or more behind on your payments. I have never dealt with such a company like this. I'm not sure if they know what they are doing! They have been sending me foreclosure letters stating I am almost 3-months behind on my payments and I have not missed any payments!

Freedom Mortgage cold-called me offering to refinance my mortgage with 2 ¼% vs 3.75% currently. All talk about savings and a lot of numbers bandied about. Finally after two days of discussions I forced them to admit that the only savings was the amount of the monthly payment. Total amount to be paid would have increased. Great way to treat a customer who pays like clockwork. Perhaps not fraud, but damn close if you ask me.

Freedom Mortgage will not respond to offer on a short sale

I submitted a offer on a short sale on 3/16/2010, called a week later was told to call back in a week. I called again on 4-2-2010 & was told they never received it. Sent it again on the 2Nd. Loss mitigation said they did not get it until 4-5. I have called 3 times to see where the offer is & as of today the 12Th nothing has been done. As far as I am concerned they deserve to have the loan foreclosed on. I think the banks should be the ones to pay the consumers when they ignore an offer in order to save the home from going to foreclosure. I will be sending this to my congressman & to President Obama & any one else that might listen.

I will also make sure I do not recommend this company in the future to my clients, I am a real estate agent.

Freedom Mortgage this is no way to run a business that should be customer oriented

Became acquainted with Freedom through an internet inquiry into various forms of financing for an existing mortgage. After daily morning phone calls, on some day several calls a day I made a decision this was a company I did not want to engage in business with. Subsequently I was sent very insulting and condescending emails by the Cherry Hill, New Jersey branch manager. This is no way to run a business that should be customer oriented and on the look out for future business. After reading some of the "feedback" on this company and the "used car salesman" approach, I am very thankful I did not pursue this with Freedom.

Freedom Mortgage do not use them

After being ok'd to have va funding fee returned, I got the "run-around" trying to contact freedom mortgage. the va said the funds were sent to freedom. 30+ days later, freedom says that they have no record of receipt. everyone I spoke to at freedom says that they can't do anything and contact va. I have tried to spesk with one of their senior employees who I am told has ability to assist, rose ann goldberg, but she would only speak to me through the secretary... not directly. bottom line... do not use freedom mortgage, if you need help they will transfer you to "their" customer service (customer service is not part of freedom, they are third party paper pushers). I hope the va reads this and removes this predatory company from offering va loans.

I'm SO glad that I seen this, We keep getting calls about financing through them. and we are not looking for financing, We keep telling them not to call our home and they repeatedly do so. so I contacted do not call list, signed up for this, and I wrote them a letter to tell them if I get another call I will be calling the BBB. to complain. YOU all that have had such horrible business practices with this company, you need to contact the BBB. They will not only report what is going on but will try and help you with them. They for sure need lower rating since they are not there to help you.

I have never been treated so unprofessionally as I have been with Freedom Mortage (except maybe by EMC Mortage) both of these companies refuse to work with the customer and use threats to foreclose and/or will just hang up on you if they don't like your answer. Don't even try and work with them on a modification as it's a waste of your time and energy as they WILL NOT help you. The best advise I can provide is do everything you can to try and keep the payment current or just give it back to them as they will not help you. Don't ask for a supervisor as they will only put you on hold and forget about you. However, when I had property damage and the insureance company sent the payment to Freedom Mortage to disperse I thought I would never get the money out of them to pay the contractor - regardless of what documents I sent them they either lost them - couldn't locate them - it was a nightmare and the contractor was pounding on me to get his money (which he deserved) but I could not get Freedom Mortage to respond until weeks after the work had been done. They are truly an awful company and I would never ever recommend.

Freedom Mortgage h4h program & pmi

Freedom Mortgage/Loancare Services is on the HUD website for the Federal Program Hope 4 Homeowners. Yet they are totally uncooperative in qualifying people for the program. They also are charging me over $180.00 per month for PMI private mortgage insurance. Even though the going rate is $50.00 per month. I have asked ever since my loan was taken over by them why it is so high? I have also told them four months ago that I would be laid off well before it happened. Yet they would not work with me on my monthly payments. So for the last four months I now have late charges and my credit score is going down each month. They only responded one time to my complaints but have done nothing, and that person will not respond since that phone call.

This is why our economy is going to crash once again. ACCOUNTABILITY..ACCOUNTABILITY.. Why are they in business after all of the headaches and incompetence, THE AMERICAN DREAM IS DISAPPEARING! Because of people running businesses like this. My fellow soldiers fighting/dying overseas for the freedom of these people? We have financial terrorrist in our own back yard, and are protected by our own laws from being accounted for their bad business practice. Why are we allowing this to happen? Its only a matter of days, months, maybe a year for us to make these businesses accountable after another crash.
I have been dealing with them through Flagship Financial since October 09, thru January 6, 2010. I was scheduled to close on a Streamline VA Refinancing at the end of November, then beginning of December, then middle of December, then 20something, then 4th January 2010, as you can tell it hasn't happened. They have been very incompetent in the process, incorrect numbers on paperwork, three times. Now that the lock-in on interest have expired they want me to pay a buy down fee(money in their pockets). All of this being their fault, and passing the cost on to me?! I could go more on details, but why when they will not be held accountable for all of this. I am pretty sure one of them are reading these comments, maybe, if they are smart enough, but they might be too busy ripping people off, and crashing the American Dream..DON'T USE THEM!Good Luck to the previous victims. Things have to change>>>> I will keep you posted.

I totally agree. I put in for a loan modification back in April. They have told me many times that it would take up to 90 days for an answer, and yet now they tell me that there has been no action since June. Voice mail boxes are full and when you do leave a message, there is no response from anyone! I am so sick of these people I am ready to walk away from my loan and take everything of value from the house on the way out!
