I opened a "Platinum" Account with SMCORP and with the Platinum account was supposed to be a "free" Merchant account. A month later a $19.99 fee from Innovative Merchants showed up on my credit card. The account was not friendly to use as in order to charge someone's credit card I would have to dial the 1-800 number enter my account number then the credit card number of the buyer. It was too much of a hassle to use and not worth $19.99 a month so I called to cancel my "free" account. I was directed to a message that stated to send in a signed letter to cancel the account. 2 weeks later a $400.00 charge showed up on my card. Innovative Merchants charged me $400.00 to close my free account.
