Parkers Whiskey review: fraudulant 29

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I placed an order (from Austrailia) for a bottle of whiskey as a birthday present for my father-in-law in the UK. Nearly two weeks later it had not arrived, but yet the money was immediately debited from my account (depsite their website clearly stating it would not be debited until the order was filled, and also stating the order would be delivered within 5-7 working days).

I had tried repeatedly to contact the company via email and phone with no response. I finally got hold of an employee at the shop (at considerable expense to myself given I was calling from Australia) who, it would seem, was in a worst position than myself in that he had not been paid for over 2 weeks and Mr Parker had in fact left the country! Thankfully the employee was so fed up and embarrassed with the situation that he arranged for my money to be refunded, at his own risk (as apparently Mr Parker had left instructions for no refunds to be issued).

I am appalled by the actions of Mr Parker and the complete lack of customer service and what would appear (based on my own experiences) to be fraudulant activity.

I HAVE MADE A PURCHASE FROM THE ABOVE COMPANY VIA THEIR WEBSITE. I PAID FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY PLUS THE GOODS, TOTALLING OVER £100 BY DEBIT CARD. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY ORDER AND CAN NOT REACH THE COMPANY BY PHONE OR E-MAIL. THEIR WEBSITE IS STILL UP AND RUNNING, AND I AM GUESSING THAT THEY ARE STILL TAKING PAYMENTS FROM PEOPLE. I WILL TRY TO SEE IF I CAN CANCEL THE CARD PAYMENT, BUT WOULD LIKE TO WARN ALL OTHER BUYERS ABOUT THIS COMPANY.

Hello everyone - me too; an order for my parents never turned up. I am suing him, and will let you know how that goes. Can anyone tel me how reporting him to the police has gone? And to anyone else out there, do not buy from this man.

The same thing happened to me. I have been waiting over a month... he replied to my e-mails saying shipment was returned and that it would be re-shipped. (I live in South Africa) I phoned and e-mailed, still nothing

Ordered a Xmas present on 16 November and hadn't received it by the end of the month so emailed him and got no reply. Managed to contact them via telephone the first week in December and was told that they will send it out again straight away (strange that they made comments on any previous despatch or seemed concerned about where it may have been?!) A week later i still hadn't received anything so i phoned and requested a refund - which was quickly agreed to and again nothing was mentioned about despatch that may have gone missing (obviously never sent it out at all!). Week of Xmas i phoned to say i hadn't received my refund and was fobbed off telling me to given them at least 5 full working days for payment to transfer. Tried phoning them throughout the whole holiday period to say i still hadn't got my refund but no answer. Managed to email them last month after threatening legal action where Richard assured me that the refund had been given and it was a problem with my bank - even though i had phoned the bank in the Holidays to check no payment was pending - he still insisted it was my bank. Phoned my bank and of course they said they cannot stop payments being made into my account and are currently helping me file a dispute agains Richard Parkers. However when i emailed Richard again saying it was not my bank i had to strongly advise that he looks at his own accounts. I've still heard nothing and have no whiskey and no refund and he has essentially stolen £50 of me - i'm furious! How is this conman stil managing to trade after so many complaints?!

Try Milroys of Soho - www.milroys.co.uk They get very good reviews and are reasonably priced as well.

Sadly I have had the same experience with Parkers Whisky and I had been ordering from them for years as well. I placed my last order middle of May. During my wait I tried to phone them and there was an automated message saying that the number does not accept incoming calls. I also tried sending a number of emails, with no response. In the last email I threatened to contact my bank and I received the good a week later (end of July). My point (eventually) is that if your account has been debited and you do not receive your goods, contact your bank and they will be able to help you get your money back. You have to wait 30days after the purchase has been made before contacting your bank, but they will log the complaint and send you out some forms. The bank should refund the money to you and then fight Parkers for it. I am with Barclays, I am assuming that all banks would have a similar process. Hopefully this is helpful and you are able to get your money back.

As we had used the firm before, i ordered a bottle of glenlivet 21whisky on 9th September 2011, approx £70 with delivery, by debit card. The money was taken out of my account - website said pending. i phoned and left messages on the answerphone again and again. also had email reply from richard parker on sat 24 Sept saying bottle had been dispatched and should have been delivered, he would contact the courier "first thing Monday". website still said pending. No delivery or any communication since. LG.

Well an update on my previous post, no whiskey turned up and the whiskey club membership never resumed, so an utter waste of time and Mr Parker is an utter waste of space to. It is about time the guy was shut down permanantly he shouldnt be allowed to trade at all. So a message for Mr parker if he reads any of these post's " Go shove your Whiskey where the sun dont shine, coz us the public are fed up with Con Men like you".

He has opened another new shop. The address on the website is not Parkers Whisky. Use your imagination.

I am shocked...never had a problem with Parkers before as all ways order for my dad who lives near the shop. If you want to buy whiskey from a reputable place then the whiskey exchange is very good with a better selection that parkers. Sorry to hear about all people on here that have had trouble. My dad told me a while ago they were shutting the shop and just running an internet business.

Well guys just to update you Mr Parker has finally answered my emails with regard to Dads Club membership. And he says and I quote" We have had a long delay in moving to our new shop. I am really sorry for the delays. " But he promises to re send the bottle that got lost and re start the whiskey club. Which should please my Dad but whether this is because I contacted watchdog about him or whether there was a delay in moving shop I'm not sure. So we will now see if they actually arive, will keep you all posted. The email I used was incase anybody else wants to send him an email was rparker@parkerswhiskey.co.uk

Same story here... I ordered a £180 bottle end of December 2010. My credit card was charged immediately, but the order is still 'Pending'. Emailed the shop and Mr. Parker several times, had them on the phone several times demanding a refund, but only got excuses...
Don't order at their site...

My Dad joined the parkers whiskey club and everything was going ok. But in April/May they took the club money and no whiskey turned up. I emailed Richard Parker who said this would be replaced and as yet nothing. I have since emailed 4 other times and had no response. The phone number on the web site is now disconnected and they have been apparantly moving premises for at least the 3 months now. I think its disgusting that they should rob a pensioner who's only enjoyment in his old age is a good bottle of Malt. So people please be aware that there is something more going on with this company. If anyone has a different number than the one on the web please let me know. Thanks

Same situation for me. Bottle of whiskey ordered, paid extra for overnight delivery. Nothing arrived. Eventually had an email response saying another would be shipped out to arrive within 3 days. Still nothing. No further replies to my emails, no one picks up the phone when I call. It’s been over a month since I first placed my order. Richard Parker is by far the most incompetent, deceitful and dishonest person I have ever had the misfortune of doing business with.

I ordered 2 bottles of whisky 5 days ago. The order stayed pending for 3 days, they did not reply to email nor did they pick up phone (I called four times). I emailed a cancellation and the following day I got a shipped notice. Product arrived as ordered today. Thye only charged money to card after shipment as they say. So I think I should say that they are cheaper and they did deliver what I wanted in the time frame agreed. I do not think they are fraudulent and I think they are getting a bad press. That said, I think they need to improve their customer communication.

I had the exact same issue, and have tried to contact the company several times with absolutely no response. I will be filing complaints with appropriate authorities and attempting to have the charge cancelled via my bank.

I am having similar experience. Its less expensive for me since I am in the UK. He is basically dishonest. I hope the police will arrest him.
