Cashier Takayla was very rude. I waited in line for around 10 minutes. All I was buying was the double pack of charcoal, price listed at 15.89. She goes to scan it but said I didn't have one with a bar code and told me to get a new one. Not a big deal, I went back to get a new one, as I was walking away she told the lady behind me she wasn't waiting for me that I can go to the back. I finally found 1 bag of the double pack of charcoal that had the right sticker to be scanned. Only 1 bag of the 4 there had it. I carried it back to the register and there was another line I had to wait in when she very rudely told me to get in the back of the line. I shouldn't have bought the charcoal but I did, I waited. When I get back to the front 10 more minutes later. She scanned it and started talking to the person behind me saying I was being slow. She told me 22.50 or so, and I said but it's listed as 15.80 on the shelf. She said that I have to have the MVP card for that price. Oh and I left out that the 3 people in front of me didn't have a card and she typed in some code for them. I told her that she typed in a code for them and she said they just forgot their card at home. So I pulled out my MVP card! She said she might not be able to use it. She eventually used it after huffing and puffing. This was just a terrible experience for me. I won't be back to food lion, unless something is done. I don't even know if this will be read. But thank you for your time.

I was a Cashier at Food Lion ( not that store). My Store Manager always said “ if the line was long, don’t make the customer wait longer!” Normally if it didn’t have a barcode, we have “walkies” and we do price checks over those- but b/c you had waited in line for that amount of time, I would do what my Manger told me- go by the price you told me, not make you wait any longer. Also, I ALWAYS asked if you had a Food Lion card, if not I would kindly use store card. I didn’t want anyone to miss out on savings.

My apologies for such a horrible experience! Not all of us are that rude, no matter how tired we may be. Sorry you couldn’t have come to our store instead 🥰

Food Lion rude cashier

At food lion, I came to get one thing and the cashier I went to "Gayle" act like she didn't an attitude with the lady in front of us but she didn't notice that I was coming so I saw it her face and her attitude. Then she got smart with me numerous times. I asked her one question and she seemed to get so defensive and acted like she didn't want to even do her job

Food Lion the customer service I received

Last night I went into the Food Lion on Rogers Lane in Raleigh, NC. The cashier was friendly at first but when she saw I had coupons she quickly changed. I was purchasing the Persil for 4.99 with a 3 off coupon. She took the coupons back to her manager and was gone for almost 15 minutes. She was explaining which coupons she would and would not take. I told her that was fine and proceeded with the transaction. I then had a 5.00 off three items coupon from fan central. I purchased three suave products and it totaled out to food lion owing me .17 cents. She asked her team lead and her team lead said yes that was correct so she called the store manager after the transaction was completed to ask about giving me the money. I told her to keep the money just need the receipt. She said "sweetie, I'm speaking to my manager. I'm not talking to you" and walks away. She told her manager at that time that she told them previously that she was NOT going to deal with coupons and someone else needed to come deal with them. Now, I'm new to couponing so being told no wasn't a problem. The problem was her attitude. She then told me that this was her second job and she didn't need that job. She runs a business.. she was very rude and belligerent. My daughter asked me was she mad and I said yes, VERY and she turned around and said "WHAT DID YOU SAY?" very aggressively. I've never received this type of customer service at FOOD LION and I don't think this cashier is someone you want representing the store.

Food Lion customer service representative

I purchased 4 money orders on Saturday afternoon at the Food Lion on Broad St and hey 64. Neither the lady or I checked to make sure that all of them were printed correctly. When I got home and went through them to write them out I was missing one for 72.00. I called the store and they're saying that the lady gave them to me and I put them in my billfold which is true but I am missing the one for 72.00. I didn't touch them from the time I received them until I got ready to fill them out. There's no way lost it. Now I'm out 72.00 to make a payment on something and you should be over 72.00. But you're not willing to do anything about it. I'll never use your services again. The proper protocol should have been for her to show me each money order had been printed out correctly instead of handing them to me without going through them. And it's my fault for not making sure that they were all printed out as well. But I'm on a disability income and this has put me in a bad financial situation. And you get to profit of the mistake. I don't think it's right the way it was handled. I'm out 72.00 and the bill won't get paid. I plan on letting people know how careless your workers go about this and they need to go somewhere else if they don't want to lose their money too.

Yes I did try to talk to him. He said he reviewed the cameras which all they showed was that both of us failed to check and make sure they were properly printed out correctly. So the draw should have came up over on her shift. Because I paid for the money order but didn't receive it. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you but I was unable to find this section earlier when I first received the email. I'm not exactly what you call technically inclined. This newer technology is beyond me sometimes and I'm not always able to figure it out. I guess that's going to hurt me as well as losing 72.46. I can assure you that it's hurt me way more than it would ever hurt Food Lion. I can't even begin to explain to you how bad this has hurt me financially. Other things were not taken care of because of losing that much money. It was devastating to me. I had things that weren't paid for that should have been. And I had to make adjustments to take care of things differently. I firmly believe that in the end it should fall on her. But you can believe it won't happen to me again this is a very costly lesson learned the hard way I assure you. I still think you should make it right with me. Thank you for your time and assistance in this matter. I know you're not going to help me out with this. I might as well have given up hope in the first place. Have a blessed day.

You are correct in saying that she should have double checked the money orders and that you should have as well. Have you tried talking to the store manager? I hope you are able to get your money order returned.

Food Lion need an mvp card

Around September 26, I called to have a new MVP card sent to me.
The card was never sent, and I called today, and I contacted Brittany at
Customer Service to get a new card sent.
She said that they had sent a card, but since I didn't receive it, they would have to contact their Research Department to look into it. Normally a card is received in 7-10 business days. I asked why they couldn't just send me a new card. I was told that that is the procedure, and was not told how long it would take for them to research and resolve this matter.
I spend thousands of dollars over time at Food Lion, and deserve more
quick and efficient service that this. Your company needs to cut through your own red tape and serve your customers better.

Food Lion west fenwick food lion store

I am contacting you again regarding the trash problem in and around our local Food Lion store. I have spoken to the manager twice. He assures me that he is addressing the situation but I see little if any improvement.
There is still a great amount of trash littering the parking lot, fencing area by the boatyard and the road to the back of the store. This trash blows everywhere and rain washes it into the community ponds on both sides of the store.
My wife and I have been picking up this Food Lion trash with a trash grabber when we walk near the store. Just yesterday we picked up 2 bags (food lion shopping bags) in a short walk from out house to the store. We do not understand why Food Lion cannot have an EMPLOYEE assigned to police the area around the store and the parking lot at a minimum once a day. The local Harris Teeter has an employee out every morning picking up their trash. Why can't Food Lion do the same?

Food Lion service

Every time I come to the Food Lion store #0769, the experience is not welcoming. The employees don't greet you. Today I enter the store asking for cash back. The cashier told me she only had a limited amount which is fine. She told me I could go to another line. The next cashier already knew I needed cash back because the previous cashier told her on the headset. When it was my turn, the cashier made a general announcement she had limited cash. A lot of time could have been saved if that was told while I was in line especially when it was known I was line for that specific reason. As I stated before, the customer service from this store on prior occasions has been rude and I won't be back.

Food Lion lack of food items previously carried

I've been shopping at Food Lion Midlothian Turnpike in Midlothian for over thirty years. I am recently discovering more and more items you've stopped carrying: Friskies cat food "beef in garden sauce"; "salmon in white sauce" ; "beef in white sauce"; "beef in garden sauce." Also, I can't get Murray's sugar-free cookies (I'm diabetic). I am forced now to go to Kroger's in Midlotian to get what I want; I don't like the largeness of that store. So, no longer can I make Food Lion a one-stop venture since it's located just around the corner from where I live. The store doesn't seem to have the patrons it had in the past. This might be a reason why. There is more competition now, but I am being forced to go to a competitor because you stop carrying things you've had for years. Bad business practice to gain customer support/loyalty.

Food Lion customer service

Hi I was just inside food lion on Martin Luther King Dr in High Point. For starters I walked into a line at Customer service I waited for about 5 minutes before I asked a customer waiting had anyone said to her they were sending someone she replied no. I then politely asked if they could send someone so we could be helped. He said yes. Ok still waiting. I was next in line when it was my turn I got no kind of geeeting I had to say "hello how are you" which I thought was very rude since this is a place of business. I then gave her my check to cash she started "cashing" my check but before she even really begin she said she didn't think they could cash. So she goes over and grabs an employee who appeared to be off the clock (he was on the phone) && he was in line at another register could we cash it he replied no she came back and told me they could not without reasoning I could not understand why so I asked the gentleman that he came n stated "they did not have enough money in the store" the check was ONLY $500. I thought they were very unprofessional. Also I felt they just did not want to cash my check due to laziness. After being turned away I called the store only to be hung up on after asking to speak with a manager. Then I called back a lady answered and placed me on hold.

Food Lion seafood sale sat. sun. price..

I went to the Foodlion store Saturday morning to purchase shrimp that was on sale for $4.29. .when I was in the seafood section, I noticed that the price was wrong.I told an employee that was working in that dept.that the price was wrong..he said to me ..it is what it is..I repeated it back to him.and he said yes..no other response..when I checked out, of course it rang up the wrong price. $5.49. I had to then wait in customer service to get the correct price..and yes I did use my map card... I feel this should not have happen..thank you MVP customer.. This was at Foodlion on London Blvd. Portsmouth, Virginia. 23707

Food Lion rotten meat

I bought lamb chops from Food Lion; when I got home and opened the tray it stinked like a 3 weeks dead body. I launched a complaint with corporate but never got a response. I guess they are overwhelmed with complaints for their bad products and service. Word to the wise, don't get the illusion you're saving money at Food Lion; in any case you're risking your health.

Food Lion pepsi max

One of the 12 packs of pepsi max I purchased had 2 cans that was smashed & empty inside of box.
I drink this beverage from the time my eyes open until I go to bed.
I know horrible right?
I'm just saying I get a lot of cases or 12 packs (Depending on which way it's on sale) and I have problems quite often and don't usually complain.
Tho day i'm just fed up with the money I lost to this problem.

Food Lion sexual harassment of my wife

My wife works at the store in Princeton and the store manager In mount olive keeps hurrassing her and showing up to her work. When she tells him off he tells her he will come to my work to do harmful things. I know he has a past of this within his own store and has been in trouble for it before. If this is not handled I will seek legal assistance an the press will be involved. Why this man gets chances from doing something that is ground for termination. You have 24 hours . His name is Mark toler. He is store manager in mount olive NC.

Food Lion found glass in food lion 1 gallon bucket of ice cream

Tonight 12/15/2016 approx 7pm EST, I was eating ice cream and found broken pieces of glass in my mouth. We had eaten approx 75% of the bucket so this was near bottom 25% of bucket. The two pieces fit together. I ran my fingers through the remainder in my bowl and didn't feel anymore. I got the bucket back out and saw another small piece on top, but I have not been through it because it is frozen and I didn't want to disrupt the area. The bar code number is [protected]. Food Lion cashiers had bad customer service

I went into the store to pick up a few items this morning and when I get ready to checkout, the cashier told me she couldn't ring me up because she hadn't logged it and she had an attitude as well. So I just went to next cashier. When she saw that, she told me I could come back to her register, but I'm like this if you give me an attitude, don't expect me to kiss your butt and come back. So I just stayed where I was at in line behind a couple of customers. Once the other cashier waited on me she asked me was I in a hurry. I told her no. I had to get to the line that was open. They only had one line open besides the other cashier who didn't want to wait on me. I felt like the other cashier didn't even want to wait on me.

Food Lion needs to have some type of customer service training for their cashiers. They act like they're not even working. If they don't want to wait on customers quit your job and give it to someone else who wants to work. There's no reason to take out your personal problems on anyone else.

Food Lion unethical behavior/false accusations

Food Lion in Garner NC on 5th Ave is a joke. My daughter had been working there since June of this year. I had to pick her up today, August 15, 2016, because they falsely accused her of stealing when she was given a "On Me Sticker" to get something to eat 3 months ago(back in June when she was first hired). I asked to see the surveillance footage of her stealing and they stated they could not show it to me. Really? You can accuse my child of stealing but can't show me the proof! My child's story never changed that she was given the sticker by an employee and they stated it was for an item of her choosing. I am confused how you can fire someone 3 months later for so called stealing and then can't show the evidence to prove your accusation. I am one of those parents that if you are wrong I believe in disciplining the child but if they are right I am going to go to back for them. I believe my child when she stated she did not steal, she enjoyed working there even with the rudeness and attitudes of fellow employees. She enjoyed the interaction with the customers. This location is filled with rude and racist employees and has been since I started shopping here in 2013. The Store managers are rude and they have perverted male employees that will stare and make sexist comments towards women that come in and out of the store. My daughter has never been accused of stealing from any of the previous 5 jobs she has held over the past 5 years. She has always been commended for her excellent customer service skills and her professionalism. I was called to pick her up by a Loss Prevention Agent who called me being rude and spoke to me like I was ###ed when I came to the store to pick her up. I called the corporate office in Salisbury NC and everyone there acted as if the didn't know who the store's General Manager was. I will not shop at any of their locations ever again! Monthly I spend at least 600 in CASH on food and personal items since 2013. They will have "Smooth"(a store manager) follow you around the store like you are going to steal something. Then you have the other managers and employees that are more worried about their weave, make-up and false eyelashes that it annoys them to help you locate one item. I am going to post this on the BBB website and Facebook. Food Lion does not care about what goes on in their facilities or how their Managers treat their employees. The disrespect and humiliation they showed my child today was disgraceful. If they only wanted her to work the summer they could have made that known from the beginning and not falsely accuse her of stealing in order to let her go!

I want them to pay her for the days she was to work the week of 8/15/2016! They owe her an apology for embarrassing her by calling her a thief and firing her! I want them to give her her job back because she did not steal anything from the store!

Since you are assuming let me explain to you how my child has had 5 jobs in 5 years... we are from NJ and she has been working since she was 13. Babysitting in our community was her first job. Once we moved to NC she has worked as a babysitter, at Papa John's, Moe's and Arby's :-) My daughter has never been accused of stealing and nor has she stolen anything! She works harder than many adults to earn money for whatever she wants! I have worked in Retail and you don't wait 3 months to fire an employee who stole an item or give them a great evaluation during their 30 day period of which the so called theft occurred. Also, you are allowed show the evidence to the person whom you are accusing of theft without law enforcement being present! Oh and by the way corporate is handling it and stated that the actions taken were not by policy! :-) enjoy your day!

Correct. They can only show law enforcement without a court order.

How old is your daughter that she has had 5 jobs in 5 years? In North Carolina, you have to be 16 to get a job, and that is with a work permit. If your daughter has had 5 jobs in 5 years, then your daughter is at least 21 years old. Old enough to fend for herself, and certainbly old enough to lie to you about why she got fired.

Food Lion trying to order a product food lion does not carry

On August 1st, 2016, I called Food Lion to complain on why it takes so long for them to find out if they can get a product I am interested to stock in my local store. After calling customer service, I asked why does it take up to 2 weeks to find out if they can provide a product, they do not presently carry. After holding for 15 minutes, the agent said that's the policy. I told her that I got an answer from Lowes within 1 hour. I said all you need to do is call the supplier! She put me on hold and came back without an answer. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she put me on hold for another 5 minutes. I asked if the supervisor could call me and she went to see if she/he was in the office-another 5 minute hold! She came back and took down my information and said she would not know when I would get a call, about the product. Food Lion may have lowered their prices, but there customer service has a lot to be desired!

Why don't you call the manufacturer and see if they can work a deal with them? You do realize that every product any store carries is there due to contract negotiations. With Walmart, for example, it takes about 6 months for a requested item to show up in stores. It takes time for the store to negotiate the contract for the item. Sometimes, things are contracted only to one retailer. Sometimes, one size of something is contracted to one retailer. It is not a magic wave your wand process.

I think your attitude is unreasonable. Were I the one subjected to it, I would ignore your request and all subsequent phone calls from you.

Food Lion unprofessional behavior/untrained cashier

have had repeated unpleasant experiences at your stores at the hands of your cashiers and today I had a particularly upsetting experience with a cashier named Lola Rose.

This wasn't our first run in. Lola Rose has been bitter, hateful, and lazy every time I've been forced to go down her checkout lane. It seems no one ever taught her how to take coupons or if they taught her she was too stupid to internalize the lesson. I've had repeated times where she outright accuses me of not getting the product I've had a coupon for and literally comes over to my buggy and starts taking my groceries out of the bags trying to prove me wrong. I've more often than not told her to forget it because with someone that hateful and vile you can't win but today was a day that was unlike any other.

When I entered the store I got a coupon out of your kiosk for a dollar off of 5 dannon greek yogurts. I bought 5 DANNON GREEK YOGURTS.

Well, I hand her the coupon. YOUR COUPON and she starts the old hat trick and pulls the yogurts out and tells me that she can't honor the coupon BECAUSE TWO OF THEM AREN"T YOGURTS THEY"RE MOUSSE.

She's must be an idiot or so stupid she isn't able to comprehend a commerical because these yogurts are MOUSSE. It's a mousse flavor. Says so on the package. I argued with her for ten minutes in which she raised her voice to me and looked at me with her glassy hateful dead eyes.

I am mentally ill and she upset me so bad I paid her the money and left my mother in the store with what she was buying. When my mother came out to the car she said Lola Rose tried the same thing with her but my mother being braver made her key in the coupon.

Like I said this isn't he first time and I'm sure it isn't to be the last. I want nothing more to do with Miss Lola Rose to the point I'd like to know when she's working so if I do have the misfortune of going to your store I won't encounter her. She's hateful, rude, and bitter and isn't that much different from the other cashiers at your store. The quality of service there has declined over the past year as you stop carrying things my family's bought for years and with the way we're treated it seems it would make more sense to drive an extra 45 minutes to Damascus with me being mentally ill and my mother in bad health to get what we need to avoid any headaches.

I wish no ill to Miss Lola Rose, I simply don't want to encounter her if I have the misfortune of stepping in your store again. I have pictures of the yogurt I bought and of my receipt since she kept the coupon probably as a gambit to make me look crazy. You need to address this problem because I wouldn't want someone like that working for me and being my face in the community. She certainly doesn't give service with a smile and I'd question the wisdom of hiring someone who certainly can't do her job.

Food Lion employees

Raleigh Blvd, Raleigh, North Carolina--this is a complaint-at 11:37:24am i went through the store as I normally do-I cashed in some coins at the coin changer and got a voucher-I went about the store and got a few things in my hand and went to check out-at register 001 via cashier 0201 on receipt 0030 I purchased the items, as I was checking out a few store employees came up near me and one lady the store manager I have known for a year or so, goes hey you mister, what to doing, i said buying a few things and we talked about the weather and she said loudly that every time she sees me she wants to just give me a hug.. she has never done that before, as she gives a half *** hug and as doing so I felt as if she was padding me down around my waste line--then after she did that she looked the other employees and then made some comments to each other I could not hear, and they walked off. I was still talking to her, , and she just walked away-but I feel that I was singled out and padded down for something...I really don't understand why she would do that..I feel violated because I am handicap and I no longer trust food lion..or any other stores for that matter--Now that I am back home and thinking about it I am disgusted and mortified with what happen...I feel the foodlion rep had no right to put her hands on me, , , I felt profiled for some reason...

Food Lion manager over cashiers

When you walk in the doors of the Food Lion in Bennettsville. SC, you can feel the tension and the unhappiness of the employees. I have witnessed, on more than one occasion, the way Theresa, the manager over the cashiers, walks around like an army sergeant criticizing cashiers in front of customers. To me, this should be done in private. She constantly hires new employees and cuts the hours of the good ones. All one has to do is look at the turnover rate and they'll know the wrong person is in charge.
I have even heard vendors complain about whoever checks them in and allots the space. They say how rude this person is as well.
If Food Lion wants to remain in Bennettsville they may need to change the management in certain departments.
