Florida Child Support Program management for customer service in building

To whom it may concern,
Upon arriving at this location attempting to understand my support situation the worker on staff passed my info off to their manager Dowanna Howard. She was to say the very least, extremely rude, degrading and went out of her way to be passively aggressive for reasons unknown to both my wife and I. This employee is in fact so rude and impolite to the citizens dealing with support I was approached by a man on his previous experience with this, as he put it, "nasty [censored]". Directly after that a couple in the waiting room witnessing what had been happening said, "we dealt with her last time, she said she's polite? Ha! My [censored], she is downright rude". I feel it should not be too much to ask an employee of the state to assist me with my support seeing as how it is not only her job but she is the manager on staff and this is the face of the Florida Department of Revenue currently. Quite frankly, I feel it's a shame the beautiful state of Florida should have such an evil and nasty woman as the face of their department of revenue.
Sincerely,
Robert Schleider

Florida Child Support Program not posting checks

I have been receiving child suppport since my divorce in 2002, and I have been through hell with the child support system since. First of all they hire the most incompetent, rude, "LIARS" to answer calls. Majority of the time my checks are not credited to my account. When I call they lie and "say a check was not received", after I tell them I know for a fact a check was sent because "I SAW MY EX'S CHECK STUB" they get down right [censored]. Yesterday I googled (complaints about Florida child support) and I was appalled by the number of complaints. What is wrong with the system? What will it take for them to get their [censored] together. I am a single parent trying to finish college living check to check my child support is a necessity. What gives the state of Florida the right to hold our money until they see fit to release it? Who is in charge of florida child support? Who can we complain to other than ourselves? Someone has to do something.

Florida Child Support Program Terrible experience!

I'm a father that has always paid my child support on time, I was ordered to pay the custodial parent directly , and I have for about 6 years, then I get a letter telling I now have to send the payments to FLDSU, I have now done this for a year, mail the check with a coupon, now I get a letter telling me that they are now taking it from my paycheck bi weekly which I was already doing.

This entity is a money wasting business, why should we pay for this service if you are already doing what is asked of you, since they step in and starting doing this, I was not given a start date for the IDO (income deduction order) so I mailed my normal payment to them and when my check stubb was mailed 2 days later they have already taken the payment from my check, so naturally I stop payment on the checks I have sent, why double pay the support. Plus I 'am not order to pay what they have sent to my ex-.

SO they have no regard for the fathers, I do understand that a lot of fathers may not pay, but to do this to a father that pays his support and all insurance needs for their child is a crazy. Since this has happened I have spent 3 days and countless minutes on hold trying to let them know that I stop payments on those checks, I have encountered customer service reps who do not know what to do and tell me this is not their department, and that there is a book of rules on what to do, well I have looked at every website concerning the FLDSU and cerks office there are no rules.

I cannot get a hold of anyone to rectify the situation, only that I will now be charged 20.00 per check for stopping payment. See the CS reps know how to tell what money you owe but nothing else. And the sad thing is they are ignorant to their own policies and have no regard for anyone. This is a waste of tax payers money and I here all these cut backs are being done, I got and idea start your cutback here. We are paying them not to do their jobs.

I still can not get a hold of anyone regarding my matter and they mailed a check for a double payment that commonsense would have told that we just took a direct withdrawal and these payments need to be mailed back. Now I have to wait for them to send me a letter telling how I'm delinquent and I'm not even behind. I do not know why they have all those phone numbers when you can't get a answer from one of them.

Florida CSE is a joke. Even when I lived in this horrible place they still did not enforce child support orders. I now live in Tennessee and the dead-beat still live there and Florida CSE has yet to enforce the order. They need to shut down and give the contract to some one who will work for their money. It is ridiculous! Tennessee has made several attempts to collect on my behalf, but as usual FL. continues to jerk people around. I was told that his drivers license was suspended and they were setting it for court. HMMM? How long does it take to set something for court? Sounds like the case workers are just sitting at the desk all day or maybe they are playing golf! I think there are a lot of people out there who needs a job and apparently they are not doing theirs, so I say give it to someone who will. That goes for the governor since he can't manage his government offices.

F**k Polk County Child-support! I have done everything possible to comply and every time i do they want more! Well my kids are nearly 18 and my [censored] ###, materialistic ###, jumps from dick to dick depending on who spends the most on her.Her name is Jennifer Lynn Booth from Lake Wales, Florida. Moved to Brandon and currently playing Bruce Gleason of Superior cooling & heating! She had a child by me, 1 by him and 1 nobody knows who.She comes across as a sweet, innocent girl, but don't be fooled! She is the most evil, two-faced [censored] ever! All about what she wants! My support never makes it to my kids.It goes to her nails, hair, shoes, accessories for her Mercedes, etc. She has been to prison and is on probation for stealing over $200, 000 from Dura-cast of Lake Wales. She pays nothing and never gets violated? Who she sucking in the probation office? She is a crook that Florida protects why?

We have the most cruel system! I'm a 38 year old father who raised my daughter by myself from 2001 till 2011 and from 2012 till today. She's 17 years old now. Her mom never helped me with anything, not a dime and always had child support on me. She never even saw my daughter for years. She was with another guy who she had a boy with, and I guess, and don't blame him, he didn't want anything to do with someone else's kids. Anyhow, through it all, she wanted free money. I refused to pay it cause she was with me and got my license suspended. Her Puerto Rican mother wasn't having any of it, she would not drop child support even though she wasn't ever with her, nor did she help out! And the system makes it so darn hard to fight a mother, specially since my daughter at the time was so young. I filled out the wrong forms, got a court case in the wrong county, it was a nightmare. I even took my daughter to school and to ballet, gymnastic with a suspended license. I even spent a night in jail for not paying child support. And guess who my daughter was with while I was in jail? My own mother, her mom didn't want nothing to do with her.
The system just wants you do to what they want, not was fair, nor do they care whats fare. In 2011 my daughter did live with her mom and I did pay her for the year she was with her, rightfully so, and since I was getting harassed from the Child Enforcement office. My daughters grades dropped, and she realized, since she wants to go to Harvard, that she was better of with me. She's an all A student taking Honor classes and AP classes.

So here I am writing this while I'm on hold waiting for the Child Support line to answer to no avail. It's 4pm and here I am as usual taking care of my beautiful daughter by myself trying to get them to stop a %40 deduction from my un-employement I'm getting ready to receive cause I lost my job. She wants that money and she see's my daughter once a month. It has been hell, if I walked out of my daughters life I could understand it. But doing everything alone, not getting a dime from her mom, and she wants child support, come on. I hope no one has to go through these! The other boy she had a few years after we divorced she did the same thing with the dad. He took care of him and she was getting child support. Luckly for him he had money and could afford an attorney. They want a 2500 retainer fee and don't tell you how much it will cost so I've had to represent myself to no avail. She now has twins, and thinks the system will take care of all them.

For the past 3 years I've been doing the "enforcement tango" with FL DOR. Non-custodial parent stops paying- I request enforcement. After 2-3 months of inaction I lean someone lost my paperwork. I contact my elected officials and they make an inquiry. After waiting 2-3 months the response shows that the FL DOR would be glad to act, but I've done something the stall the process. I have to rspond back to show that I provided everything they asked for. After a few monthsmore, the non-custodial parent makes a payment and FL decides not to take action.

I am a custodial parent whom receives money from time to time from my ex husband...he receives food stamps and lives high on the hog. He is currently over $13, 000.00 behind in child support and when I actually went into the cse office I told them they are doing nothing to help me, and the supervisor said I am offended that you even think that because I myself have spent months on this case alone. What a joke...if she had in fact spent months on it she would have had his license suspended and he would actually be in jail... he lives right up the road from them, and claims to be an independent contractor so he can not be IDOed. Yet he does not pay his obligations and he and his current wife receive food stamps...make sense to you? me either...some one needs to help. I wrote a letter to the governor and was told he was to busy to even talk to me? hmmmm lets see if he gets re elected?

I just wanted to say I have had the worst experience in dealing with child support, first my son's father remarried his ex-wife where there was no support order so even though they were married they filed to get child support ordered before mine went through. Exactly one week before. So ofcourse I went from getting $485.00 to $295.00 monthly. Did he pay it? Nope. Did, after a year, the income deduction order ever go thru? Nope. I was banging my head against the wall then right when the income deduction order went in effect he got fired. Yes, I received some of his unemployment while he was getting it however as soon as it stopped so did his payments. I called the 1800[censored] number and was advised that they did put in an order to suspend his license however since he is a foodstamp recipient they could not sanction him at all. WHAT!?!?!?!? So I did some research and according to the Florida STATUTE 414.32(2) If any person is failing to cooperate with cse including not paying their ordered support they are inelegible for foodstamps. However if you say that to the people on the phone your call will be disconnected. So I wrote Governor Scott, received an e-mail the very next day, and then within 48hours received a call from my local office, the supervisor of my local office. WOW! Within 24 hours no letter went out, baby daddy's food stamps were cancelled and license suspended. I'm going to get me a Rick Scott bumper sticker. Write the governor, you will get results.

Florida child-support is a money racket! I was charged child-support from my wife while we were married and didn't even know(No DNA test, she discarded the mail).I racked up a lot of debt, then she gets caught stealing from her employer which opens up an investigation by Polk county Sheriffs Office and come to find out she stole over $186, 000.00 from Dura-Cast products. She was also supporting another man(police officer) and blowing lots of money away from home while i busted ### to pay the bills for us & our 2 kids. I was arrested w/ her(listen to this crazy charge...Failure to expose a criminal act, guilty by marriage to her) and went to jail. While in jail i divorced her and obtained more child-support debt(it don't stop for any reason in FL), so when i get out, (im now a felon for a crime i didn't do) i look for a job to start over.Get a job and begin paying my support when 1 month later the Polk county sheriff arrest me at work for arrears on child-support from when i was in jail? They arrest me, cause me to lose my job, and demand an impossible amount for someone who just started over! I sit in jail for a couple of months, they release me, i go search for a job which is nearly impossible w/a felony. Find one, begin work, and they do the same thing a month later! Now i say f this and leave florida who makes the most money in florida(behind Disney)by locking folks up! I go find work in Georgia and try to pay all my child-support down. They track my ss# and come arrest me in Georgia, take me back to FL and lock me up for 6 months for a non-criminal offense! Hell i try my best but if they are not going to run a system which is not fair to all...then there rules don't apply to all! I'm currently on the run(better than jail)give me liberty or give me death! Something needs to be done!

My husband and I have been fighting with the dept. of rev. in florida for years now, there is a child in florida and we live in california, the mother refuses to allow a paternity test and also denies him to even see the child, he has been court ordered to pay all her attorney fees, all of her and the childs medical expenses and more than $550.00 per month for a child he doesn't and never has seen and would like to if she is his. He has been put in jail and ordered to pay over 30K for bills the mother never had to produce. We have now found out that the mother and child have always been on state medicaid and she has now pocketed over 50K, she owns numerous properties and a very large income and my husband is a veteran was in the Marines is disabled and has had no income since 2008. We have filed adjustment requests, modifications and requested paternity tests and the child support office does nothing except close the case stating that since the mother never responded they have to leave the support as is and the arrearages continue to add up. I am now disabled and need him to drive me to medical appointments and now they want to suspend his drivers license. We have filed motion after motion both in California and in St Jons County, Florida and the latest was in March of this year and still NOTHING. We cannot afford an attorney and keep calling them to get a status on the case and they are rude and say there is nothing new and to just wait. Wait for what? For them to just close the case because the mother refuses to cooperate? This is such an unfair system. There is a child without a father, if my husband is the natural father wouldn't it seem to be in the childs best interest to know him? If he is not, wouldn't it be in the best interest of the child to know who he is or at least not to fell as if a father named doesn't care? If anyone has any advice they can provide we would welcome it greatly, I spend too many hours on this trying to find assistance and keep hitting a dead end. God Bless and thank you

FL Child Support Enforcement number is great if you want to listen to Ebonics or get pissed off - nothing else. My plan is to just get a better job and hire a better lawyer. The people there are a waste of semen. As a matter of fact anyone the works for the court system except a few of the judges is a waste of government money.
