I won a two week free membership through a drawing I entered and was told I would only be charged if I decided to join after my Free Trial period. Well, a few weeks later, the facility closed without warning to employees or so-called members. It was on the news and also in the local paper. I called Fitness USA to cancel any charges that may occur after my free trial membership and was told I would not be charged due to cancellation and the fact that that location had closed without any warning what so ever. Now I have a judgement that was filed in Detroit, MI by National Credit Corp. I would really like to know how this is even posssible. Even if I had joined after my free trial membership, HOW and WHEN would I have used my membership due to the fact that the facility had closed without warning. If Fitness USA was allowed to close the facility without warning to employees, the people that already had memberships, or the people they had registered as free-trial members then why is it that National Credit Corp. it is right to File judgements against those with memeberships or without that had no forewarning of this event.The location was at Grand River in Detroit MI and the year of event was 2000-2001. Im sure there are others with the same dilemma. Ive tried to reach Fitness Usa but was directed to Better Business Bureau.
