Fitness 19 training

The first trainer called my 14yr old son a pussy and told him the girls are laughing at you. After complaining, II was talked into buying more sessions so they can" do it right!" Things seemed ok until the second trainer changed our appointments more than once and then never showed up to train my son! The response i get from mngt...you should have called? well, I'm doing that now" is what i replied!

Fitness 19 aweful gym

Do not join this gym. The management there has no experience in management or in the fitness industry. They are rude to members, things are not cleaned well and machines are not fixed in a timely manor. The person who is in charge of billing is still in high school and has never done this job before. People have seen her painting her nail and reading a book instead of doing her job. There are four managers and two of the four are barely 20. They talk about the members and do not do their jobs. Most of the staff sits around playing on their phones and clueless about what goes on there. The staff does not like confrontation so if you have an issue with something they will put of dealing with it. The "general" manager has never been in management before and has never worked in the fitness business. He's rude and cocky and a jerk. Do not join this gym!

In reference to the above complaint they stated it was resolved. They waited a few weeks and then turned it over to collection with a different account number and a completely different amount due.

I do not believe that the people at Fitness 19 on Five Forks know what's going on.

Do not sign a contract with these people. Find a more respectable gym to attend.

I am speaking from experience.

I totally agree about this gym. My son cancelled his membership in late March. On April 14th I received a bill for membership renewal beginning April.

I called and told the front desk person that we had cancelled the membership prior to April and that I would not pay the $29.00 annual fee due to the fact that the membeship had already been cancelled.

I just received a collection letter for $29.00 for this gym. What kind of ###s work at this place?

Can't get the manager to call me back.

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. AWFUL

Fitness 19 unprofessional/rude

The new Manager sucks. Very rude. Been a member there since this location opened and I called my spouse telling him lets cancel because this new manager is not a people person at all. Was on the treadmill and not talking loud at all but laughing at friend I was listening to on the phone. The club was pretty empty. He walked up to me and told me no talking on my cell phone while on the machine. I don't have a problem with following rules but there are no signs on the walls stating this. People have been talking on there phones since the start of this club. I was not talking any louder than if I was laughing at a person who could have been on a machine next to me. He had a strange disposition when I walked in and I should have followed my first mind when first walking in when I got the feeling of uncomfortableness. That was the icing on the cake when he did that. I heard that he was a jerk but I got confirmation myself. There should be a spot on the Fitness 19 website for complaints. I will be going down to Planet Fitness ASAP. I was almost willing to give it another chance until he did that. Not to mention this dumb smile he kept giving me. Wipe the smile off your face. I can see straight through the fakeness. Wish the old management team was still there. They were great! You will lose more people if he continues to treat people like he did me.

Fitness 19 keep billing after cancellation

Went into the gym to cancel our memberships, and was told by the desk twirp that they could only be cancelled in writing. I said, fine - please give me some paper and a pen. Twirp says it has to be a mailed letter. Somehow, I doubt the legality of this, but since he was refusing to receive my handwritten cancellation, what choice did that leave me? We were trying to take care of this while we were in the area. Couldn't really use the gym anymore since we moved, and had not been there for several months. I called the gym the following week (before monthly billing) and spoke with the "billing person", who said that I wouldn't be billed if I sent the letter. I sent the letter, called the office to make sure they received the letter (they did) and they said they would "make a note" so I didn't get billed. Well, they received my letter, but billed me anyway. I called the gym again, and got some runaround about there needs to be 30 days notice, and that I can still use the gym for an extended time, blah, blah, blah... I told her I was cancelling because I could not use the gym, and didn't want to be billed anymore. I wanted my money refunded. She suggested that I send an email requesting the refund. I did, and got no response. A month later, I forwarded my original email and demanded a response. I finally got a response from their district manager, saying this is the first he's heard about it, I would get a refund immediately, sorry for the miscommunication, and they couldn't find any of my info in their database. How convenient. Not only did I NOT get the refund, but I got billed AGAIN. I've been calling them for 6 months now! These people will not return any of my calls or emails, they refuse to give my money back. Do not give these thieves access to your money. They are dishonest and have no business ethics or integrity.

These gyms are in one business: get your account number and bill it in perpetuity and keep on getting your money. I'll warn anybody who reads this: if they require a credit card or an account number - WALK! Do not sign up with these gyms on anything but a cash basis. And insist that that's the only way you do business. If they get your credit card or a check, there is no way you can get them to stop billing you until they decide to - which often never happens.

I take it you sent that letter certified? If not, you haven't even begun to cancel.

Fitness 19 overcharging/ poor customer service

This particular fitness francise has ripped me off for over $540.00! I was harrassed one morning while working out and I was asked if I wanted a free fitness assessment. Well, after the trainer showed me a few exercises, he proceeded to persuade me into signing up for a monthly training aggreement that I could not afford. My first work training with him, he worked me like I was a professional athlete and I hurt my shoulder. He said that if I quit, I am just a "quitter" like half of his clients. I made the most of my training and when I knew that I could no longer afford it, I told my trainer that I needed to cancel my membership. He completely blew me off every time I brought up the subject. By that time, I approached a mananger on my own and cancelled. However, because it was less than 30 days before the next billing cycle, I was charged another $540. When I saw that this amout was again deducted from my account, I spoke to the manager who told me to come in that morning for a meeting to discuss it. Conveniently, the other manager who needed to be in on the conversation was not availablem, so he promised to call me back between a specified time frame. He never called back and when I called to speak to him, he was conveniently out for the day! DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! The owners are liars who are barely on the other side of the law. They don't care about your or your fitness goals. They only care about their bottom line! I am furious and because I signed their contract, I have no legal recourse to get a refund. I did this all to look great in a wedding dress in June. They misled me and completely exploited me. These people are disgusting!

Fitness 19 beware

I belonged to Fitness 19 and was extremely disappointed and down right upset with their customer service, policies, and gym/equipment. Starting with their customer service, they acted friendly when I got a membership and I was pleased with how they acted towards me and I began to come more and more I noticed that their behavior toward me changed, they had already gotten my business therefore their happy, nice attitude quickly changed. Then I started noticing and hearing them talk poorly about other members and employees. Saying things about larger members and how its pointless that they continue coming to the gym, etc. I was disgusted with what I was hearing. About their policies, they are very money hungry, especially Erhan. They will constantly tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign a contract that is supposedly "don't require long-term contracts" and "can cancel whenever you want" yet myself and many of my friend where leaving for school and that was not the case they said they couldn't gave many excuses and still charged us. Lastly their gym/equipment it's nothing special, basic workout equipment, some don't work, basically nothing special at all. Bottom line I would not recommend this gym to anyone!

Fitness 19 over charging

This gym constantly over charges members, bills members an extra $19 once a year without notice, and after canceling they continue to bill. Some clubs shut down without notice and DO NOT refund any member their monthly bill and also DO NOT refund prepaid personal training. Very bad business and no corporate numbers.

Fitness 19 calls to home

I've been a member of this gym less than a year. I have to say this is the best gym in the city of Yucaipa out of the 4 or 5 others, but there is one employee, whose name is Dan and for some unknown reason to me, it seems that he has it out for me. Why? I don't know. He has called my wifes cell phone (we don't have a land line) and told her that I wear inapproiate clothing while I'm working out and that every time I pass a guy that is working out, that I pat them on the ###. Needless to say this has caused some friction and arguements between my wife and myself. I mentions this to one of the employees that works there and I told him that I was cancelling my membership there. He asked me why and at first I didn't want to say anything or give any names, but after talking to him for a few minutes, he convinced me to tell him everything. He wasn't surprised when I told him who it was and what he had told my wife. He said he would pass this on the manager (Adam) and that it was against company policy for him to be doing that. A week has gone by, the manager has not contacted me in any way, and Dan is still working there. I stoped by today to speak to the manager, and of course he wasn't in. I spoke to the employee that I had talked to when I cancelled my membership and asked him if he had talked to the manager and he said yes, I told him I hadn't heard from the manager and asked him if the manager had talked to Dan. As of yet the employee didn't know anything.

Fitness 19 service

More worried about bottom line than their clients. After joining my first FREE session was more of a sales job than a training session and they even counted it as a session, never even touched a machine. I set up some training session's and after giving them the schedule I wanted to work with he set me up with a trainer that worked different days and time (way to listen to your clients Keith). After buying $300.00 worth of personal training I called the GM Keith a couple of weeks later to ask him what my options were after a heart condition came up, the first thing out of his mouth was "they are not refundable" WO I didn't even ask about a refund just wanted to see what to do.Didn't even ask how I was doing through the entire conversation. The club itself is a nice, clean place to work out, shame when 1 bad apple ruins the whole batch.

Fitness 19 extremely poor customer service

I purchased a membership for my Wife and myself about 3 months ago, after building my own gym at home and finding out that my wife is pregnant, I decided to cancel our memberships, I walked into Fitness 19 to cancel and some young kid at the counter stated that the system was down and that he could not cancel at this time that I would have to return at a later date, after telling him that I needed to cancel at that moment, he gave me a very bad attitude wrote down my information for the cancellation & stated that It was done and no additional charges would take place since I had been automatically charged the previous day. The following month I received a charge on my account for both memberships after I was clearly told that I would not be charged any longer, I went back to the fitness center (was not greeted for about 10 min) finally a young lady by the name of Kristen approached me to see what she could help me with? I told her to verify my membership cancellation, she told me "just wait", walked into some back office 15 minutes later she returns to tell me that she does not have the authorization to cancel and that someone else has to do it, I asked if she could get someone that can, she said "wait"! Some guy by the name of Al Garcia comes up to me and tells me that the system is down and that I cannot cancel right away and to come back later... I told him that I would not leave and to cancel my membership immediately, (with an attitude) he walks away begins speaking to some new member (signs them up) returns with some yellow slip (10 minutes later) and tells me that its been cancelled. I'm a customer service trainer for a major U.S company and this is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had... I will make sure to use every possible resource available to share this horrible experience to the public and most importantly to the City of Riverside. The employee: Al Garcia is a horrible asset to any organization.

Hello- I apologize you had this experience. I have no idea who you are. It is false that you said I have been ripping off people for years. I hope you can provide truth to that. For the record. I don't live a miserable life. I actually live a happy life with my wife and children. It's seems by the way you wrote this review, you must really hate your life. I wish I would have done some consumer research on Fitness 19 prior to joining the new location in Chino Ca in 2014. This so called manager "Al Garcia" is just horrible. Apparently he has been ripping off people for years. I wonder what his motivation is? Just to make peoples lives miserable because he's miserable? I added my husband on to my membership. He paid the sign up fees from his own debit card, then we agreed that the billing would come from my account combined monthly. They charged my husband twice for the sign up fees and gave my husband the run around for 2 weeks to get the money back. A month later we discovered that they were charging my debit card and his debit card for the monthly fee. When I called to take care of it, again I was given the run around. I think the manager trains his staff to play dumb and give customers the run around, either that or he really is that stupid. I feel sorry for the employees that work there. This Al guy is a real [censored]. So turns out that they had my husband open on 2 accounts. Al had the nerve to tell my husband it was not their fault. That any ONE person can have 2 memberships at the same gym. AMAZING. A real piece of work this man is. NOT! I'm trying to make light of this, I'm really upset beyond words, but in the end I feel sorry for this man. He must live such a miserable life to gain pleasure treating customers this way.

Fitness 19 keep getting charged after cancellation

I canceled my membership after getting Silver Sneakers (which is free). Mike, the manager, put my membership on hold instead of cancelling. After 6 months, I am being charged again, so I advised my bank that these were unauthorized charges. Now, Mike is threatening me with a collection agency. I am unable to use a gym at this time due to a broken back. Do you think this matters to him? Fitness 19 is a ripoff.

That is similar to what happened to me. I wanted to cancel and they coerced me into putting my account on a freeze for a year. After the year was up this past March, I didn't get a call, a letter, or any prior notice that the account was coming off freeze (and after a year, I honestly forgot all about it). They started billing me again but that account is not used any longer, and they are still billing me even though I have tried to cancel this account. They won't let me cancel until my past charges are made and since the account isn't cancelled, they will continue to bill me, but because I am behind in dues, I can't use the gym (not that I can, it went on 'involuntary' hold becuase of two torn meniscuses). What kind of business practices are these?!?!?! It outrageous, DO NOT join this gym, go to Lifetime Fitness if you need a gym, it costs more, but they have so much more to offer you, it is totally worth it.

Fitness 19 customer service

The management is horrible. I sent in a letter to cancel on March 30, 2012 which was effective April 1, 2012. They started to leave me messages asking for payment for April, then May, etc. I called them and told them I cancelled effective April 1 - The associate said "no problem - I'll take care of it". Then more voice mails demanding payment for June as well. I called again - got the same nice person (not a manager) and got the same response. Then got 2 calls in the last week wanting payment for July. I personally delivered another letter to the business, but got another call yesterday.

These people are incompetent and obviously desperate for $$$. I recommend staying away, as you cannot quit or get rid of these people!

Fitness 19 refund

I purchased 12 personal training sessions for $480.00 with trainer Linda Woodman. After 6 sessions, I was informed that the gym was closing. I was not given a date of closing. Ms Woodman is refusing to train me. I have tried to get the manager to refund $240.00 to me for the 6 remaining sessions. I call the manager but she doesn't answer the phone. I cannot leave her a voice mail message because her mailbox is full. I have stopped by to see her but she isn't there. I have faxed her letters but she will not call me. Since Fitness 19 employee is refusing to train me, I want refunded for the remaining 6 sessions.

Fitness 19 will not refund even when services have not be received

I became a member at the beginning of 2012. I liked the place even though customer service was lacking, I wasn't going there for the customer service. I received a free session with a personal trainer and decided to do the "limited time offer" of 5 sessions with a personal trainer for $99. I told them who I preferred to work with and was told the person would call to set up the appointment. Three months later, no phone calls, no nothing. I contact them about a refund since I haven't received any services. I was informed that they only do refunds for 7 days. He tried to offer me the service, but I didn't want it anymore. I already have other plans for my summer. I signed up for a time when I was able to. They dropped the ball and basically have stolen my money. I am canceling my services with them. BAD business.

Fitness 19 rip off

This is the worst place to give your credit card info to. They will keep charging it even when you want to cancel. I joind in april 2011 before they were to open in june 2011 they did not open unitl 2 nd week of july 2011 and when I went one time I said this place is a dump and small, my house is bigger than this place! I turned in a letter the next day saying I wanted to cancel and like the contract said I had to and that I had 5 days to cancel. They did not want to honor it and lied to me and said the were open more than 5 days. Which was not true because I called to see when they were opening every 2 or 3 days since june 1st when they were supose to open. And the day before I went the guy told me they should be open tomorrow once the fire marshall gives them thy're permit. They also said they would send me a letter letting me know when they were pne and to come in and work out. But that is the catch if I would have waited until the letter came it would have been more than a moth of them open! Thus you can not cancel your contract. I wonder how many other people got ripped off?

Doors are closed. There is a# on some net site which is to LA Fitness located down the road from Fitness 19. If you call they tell you your membership was transferred to them. Please do not believe this. Scam. Contact the attorney general and complain.They want to get you in there to have you join "in my opinion "Gym from ***.Do not fall for this scam. If they had your contract they would have called you.I called LA Fitness and received a lot of double talk. Please do not be taken advantage of. Find another Gym .

Fitness 19 still charge after you cancel

I was a member of the local Fitness 19 for 8 years, but I had to cancel because of personal physical problems. I was told if I canceled before the 15th of the month, that I would not be charged for the following month. Sure enough, I was charged anyway for an extra month even though I canceled on the 15th. How can I be charged for not using the gym, especially when I am physically unable to use the gym. Seems highly immoral and unethical to me.

I feel the same way. Worse part is even if you cancel they still charge a renewal fee. I have taken legal action towards this company because someone needs to put a stop to there excessive abuse.

Fitness 19 assaulted on gym property

I was assaulted by another member of this gym on my first day there. The management did not call the cops nor did they kick out the person who hit me in the face. In hindsight, I should have called the cops and sued both the gym and the "crazy guy" who actually laid hands on me. This gym is a joke and should be avoided if you like to workout and not fight at the same time. The ###s who work there are useless and the gym equipment is sub-par at best.

Owner rude & dishonest. Staff does not process paperwork properly. Had to go to Better Business Bureau to get membership closed. Ridiculous! These people give gyms a bad name.

Fitness 19 rip off keeps pulling money from account

This gym is a complete rip off the manager mike is a totoal jerk and con artist... He kept taking money out of my account for various charges long after I left the gym... Do not go to this gym the customer service is horrible and you will lose a lot of money if you decide to leave.

Thx for letting people know about this company. I was going to join fitness 19 in Milwaukee, WI today for the $5 a month but will not as of now. No thank you ...I will continue to work out @ Bally's as I have been for the last 20 years...never had this happen there...(fitness was gonna be my 2nd gym) Thank Goodness for reviews..
