On my 70th birthday my family got together and bought me a lovely little British Shorthair kitten which I named Tilly. The kitten was purchased from Fiona House. I first saw the kitten at 4 weeks old and immediately fell in love with her. This was despite having misgivings about the generally untidy state of the house and the fact that the litter of kittens were poked away under the stairs. I was asked for a £200 cash deposit to secure Tilly which I was informed was non-refundable. I went twice more to see the kitten before collecting her on 26th July and paying Fiona House a further £350 cash being the balance of the purchase price agreed. On getting the kitten home I discovered that she had fleas, ear mites and a weeping eye condition. This resulted in having to take the kitten to the vet once or twice a week for treatment and check ups. The vet advised me that Tilly was far too small for a kitten of her age. Fiona House, the breeder had told me when I previously mentioned the very small size of the kitten that it was because Tilly was a female kitten. I was informed by the vet that this was total rubbish. Over the next few weeks the kitten did not appear to grow as she should have. On Thursday 24th September Tilly became very lethargic eating very little and being withdrawn. The following day she had deteriorated even more. I took her to the vet once again where the kitten was admitted for further tests and examination. Tilly was diagnosed with FIP on the Monday 28th September. She then had to be put to sleep as the illness was incurable. This has left me in total disbelief and devastation. I do not think I have ever been so upset. I very strongly feel that Fiona House the breeder must be stopped for the poor little kittens sakes and the devastation caused to the unsuspecting families who buy these kittens from her. I would like to hear from anyone who has been through a similar experience where perhaps we can find a way to put a stop to her activities.

I also had a kitten from this lady back in 2014. When I picked her up I could clearly see there is something wrong with her Fiona just tried with her excuses but I took the cat to vet and ofcourse she had a serious eye infection, fleas and was generally underweight. I ended up rehoming this cat when she was 4 years old never ending health issues and afraid of her own shadow. When my kids were born the cat was so terrified he wouldn't come out of the fireplace. Please avoid avoid avoid .. do your research and travel elsewhere. All this woman care about is money. I knew people who reserved kitten and pay deposit and when they came to pick kitten up it was completely different one because Fiona decided the one they picked will be perfect to leave for herself for breeding.

I mean this woman is breeding only for money she doesn't care at all. Why your friend cannot travel elsewhere for a kitten? I had a kitten from Fiona and I was thousands out of pocket with all the vet bills.

I purchased a kitten from Fiona house in July 2015. He appeared to be healthy when I first saw him although his mother was extremely thin. I was due to collect him at 12 weeks but she insisted on him being collected earlier saying that his brothers and sisters had already gone. On collecting him my instinct was telling me he wasn't well as he was very lethargic and listless with a weepy eye. I questioned this but she just said he had woken up. I trusted her words and we took him home. It was clear that he wasn't right and I took him to the vet the next day. The vet confirmed that he had cat flu and a very high temperature. I emailed her with my concerns but she tried to blame my other cats who were both perfectly fine! Suffice to say he never got well and just deteriorated over the coming weeks. He just slept, barely ate and was very poorly. The vet suspected FIP. We spent nearly £2000 on vet bills as he was admitted several times and also suffered seizures. Eventually we had a diagnosis of dry FIP and six weeks after purchasing him he developed breathing difficulties and had to be put to sleep. I emailed Fiona many times and she showed no concern for selling us a sick animal and refused to refund the £550 we paid for him. She tried to make out that we had made him Ill when in fact he was ill from the moment we collected him. Having read many other similar stories from other unsuspecting people I am shocked that this woman can still continue to sell sick animals. This woman knowingly sells kittens that have FIP as her cats are clearly carriers of the virus. I am not a breeder and bought the kitten as a much longed for pet. I hope that others read these complaints and avoid this woman like the plague. She doesn't deserve to call herself a breeder but a backstreet charleton is a more appropriate description. She does not care about the welfare of any of the animals she sells or the misery she causes but only about the money she makes.

Hi.. I'm stuck in this awful situation now, I paid the £200 deposit for my kitten Nov last year, collection was at 10weeks old without the injections they should leave with, her reasons being so the kittens can adjust to there new family's first, when we collected him we also saw the cat we'd desperately wanted a silver tabby so put a deposit down on her too, within a few days of them being at home I have to take the kitten to vets, he had flu, Fiona's responded with he's stressed! The 2nd kitten exactly the same thing happened. We lost Charlie (1st kitten) 28 days later, Fiona refused a refund of the kitten, and sadly we lost Pixie the 2nd kitten recently, she put a £4000 vets bill as she needed endless scans bloods etc taken to find the root cause, both cats had possible FIV. I'm devastated not to have lost the money on the kittens but because my children bonded with them. Kelly

Hi,
I have just fallen victim to this twice now, bought are first cat for my daughter in October 2017, while traveling back to jersey we had an over night stay in hotel in Poole before boat she had diarrhoea, put it down to stress and travel . Got home settled but Diarrhoea persisted . Insurance company Not willing .. didn’t beef up and looked gaunt . Vet broke the news to me about FIP and suggested she be put to sleep . Devastation . Never heard of such a thing and in denial . I tried my best with a fresh diet for a month, but once she started staring into a wall and not wanting to move I knew it was time .
BUT IT GETS WORSE !
After having it out with Fi and convinced Me it was just bad luck and some thing she must have caught at the hotel or my vets, no money’s back either . She promised me another in a few months time and would knock a £100 off I bought another.
So back on the boat to collect and another night in a hotel and back home with another kitty with diarrhoea . I just thought no this can’t be happening again . Phoned and phoned no response nothing. This time little Milly had the wet form and turned to a little kitten that never really grew and had a massive balloon in her tummy . She was but to sleep today 27.09.18 . My daughter found much information about Fiona on Facebook and she needs to be reported which I will be doing tomorrow contacting RSPCA bournemouth
I just thought I would share
Sorry
Mark

Gosh I feel so sad to read this.
My cat was bought in 2013 withers mites, under weight, then diagnosed with coronavirus and calicivirus. He's still alive but costing me thousands of pounds to get to the diagnosis and pet insurance won't cover it.
Fiona told me she had terminal cancer so I took the cat even though the house was filthy as a 'good samaritan'
Here's my poorly teddy the cat now aged 3.5yrs
Everyday I have to clean up his vomit and sick. He hasn't developed FIP yet so vets won't put him down. He's maintaining weight and had all his teeth out due to these viruses

Absolutely and totally agree. Exactly the same issues with a kitten bought for my elderly mum. Kitten had Fip virus and had to be pts. This excuse for a woman did not want to know! Poor kitten and my poor mum it was devastating
