Beware of SCAM. I was working with this company that posed as a "Non Profit Organization". They charged me up front, which I found out was illegal for loan modifications, and ended up not getting me a modification and not refunding me any money. They do not offer a refund policy at all.
I was nervous signing up with them at first, knowing that they would be taking money out of my bank account each month. Now that I know they have scammed me and my family of our last dollars, I will do everything I can to make sure they don't do it to anyone else. They promised me a modification if I signed up. I just found out also that they are being investigated by authorities.

Financial Hope For America is actually Certified Financial Protection Group. They changed their name because of all the complaints. If you Google Certified Financial Protection Group scam, you will see that they have the same address and have an F on the BBB, with many many complaints.

If you have been scammed by this company, please contact your local authorities or
contact the SIGTARP Hotline by: online form:www.SIGTARP.GOV OR call 877-SIG-2009 (toll free)
or mail to: Hotline
Office of the Special Inspector General For the Troubled Asset Relief Program 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., NW Suite 1064 Washington, D.C 202220. Pls. post any result if you go with the SIGTARP...

SCAM!! WOW! Thanks for filling me in before I leaped into a contract with them!!!

Financial Hope for America "SAYS" all types of neat things that they will do for you including credit repair and credit scraping to earn you the best FICO score post modification -- of course, it costs an initial $595.00 plus $199.00 per month for one year and a $49.00 annual fee -- its as if yo are joining something.

I read and hear that Loan Modifications are not supposed to cost one anything so why pay???????
I tally up $3032.00 in fees but when I called and ask if they offer guarantees, there were no guarantees
but I was told that FHFA has a 98% success rate ----- I could really use the help but would like to save the money too.

Anyone have success with a Loan MOd working one on one with their lender?
Please let me know

Yes they charge over 3, 000 total in fee's for something people can do on their own and say they are a "Non Profit" company. You can go to the government for free. Sounds like a rip off to me.

yes 1% of the us homeowners have had success with the lenders this according to the US Treasury Department. I went with FH4a and while it die take 6 months to get help they did get me help after I had been turned down by the bank not once but twice.

my payment was reduced by 432.19 a month over the 28 years I have left well over 120k saved was it worth the little bit of money ...without doubt.

Some Homeowners really do not to learn the law taking money upfront is NOT illegal if you have a singed contract and other stated requirments that is spelled out by state law.

I know I called and ask the AG.

I also visted FH4A office before I went with this company. I suspect like many help homeowners not everyone can be helped. Many homeowner lied and misstated income etc to get their homes with hope of flipping it a few years later and now are stuck blaming everyone but themselves for what the lender did. I knew exactly what I was getting into .

They helped me and the person that gave me their name I know thelp them as they their home was up for foreclosure day and they stopped it iin just 2 days to spare .

I have checked they are a nonprofit Org listed with the CA dept of Justice.

I was concerned as well but check YOUR facts before you move yourself . They reduced my payment 38.2 % and removed all my past due payments.

Mary Sheraton...I have seen your name on other FH4A complaints however, after doing some research, I found that you are not even signed up as a member of FH4A. If you were - you would know that FH4A is a non profit organization available to homeowners in distress. When signing up for FH4A, you are not paying for a loan modification - although that is one of many services provided. When joining FH4A, you are given access to many services including credit repair, property tax reduction, debt consolidation, life insurance, loan modification, home sale reversals...you would know that if you read the membership agreement that you signed.
Financial Hope for America is registered as a non profit org with the department of justice...they have helped thousands of homeowners stay in their home and better their financial situations. If anyone has any doubt - they have an open door policy. I assure you that you will be impressed with their process, the employees and the amount of success stories that line their walls. It irks me to read negative blogs on this company as clearly - the people crying "scam" are either ex employees or people with irrational expectations.
If you have doubts - seriously - call them and take a tour of their facility! They have nothing to hide and encourage homeowners to come in and see what they are all about.
There ARE a lot of scammers out there so I do advise that you be careful - if you are not offered to tour their facility, see their success stories and meet their employees - do not sign up with them!

Hi Mary Sheraton,

Can you please elaborate on one of your comments: "You can go to the government for free"? i would like to know which department of the government will help you with this, not to mention about FREE! how about time frame? 2 years for waiting list? or standing in line since 4:30 AM for 3 weeks, still cannot have the application accepted? Is that what you refer to?
Please express your comments with supporting facts, so you can be a great help! Many scam companies out there, we need to know which one is really good, not irresponsible complaints to blur the readers from recognize good from evil.

CFPG and Financial Hope for America is a scam. The Department of Justice has refused to give Financial Hope For America the required 5013c nonprofit exemption. This means that they are not registered with the Department of Justice " and exempt from taxation, and your "Donation" not eligable to be a write off for tax purposes. Run away from these scammers...

It seems that poster "Fh4A" is really a company shrill attempting to bury the legitimate complaints and just told us consumers a another bold face lie. The Justice Department refused to recognize this scam organization as a tax exempt 501(3)C non-profit. I have just sent corspondence to the AG and the Department of Justice to stop these scammers from misrepresenting their affiliations with government agencies and ripping more consumers off.

Help protect other innocent homeowners and send in valid complaints to the BBB and the state Attorney Generals offices to stop them now!

I have been working with FH4A for 8 months. I was originally told three things which I have now learned the hard way are lies. (1) I was told the entire proccess takes FH4A on average 60-90 days. (2) I was told if they where unable to help me modify my loan, that all monthy payments of $199.00 (after the initial $495) were refundable. (3) I was told I would be able to pay with a credit card. After three months they changed there credit card policy without notifing me and now I have a invoice for $995.00 with not even the slightest progress made toward a loan mod. Of course they wont refund my money and I am worse off than if I had never used them. Do not use this company! They say they are going to do something and never do. Their Employees were usually unable or unwilling to answere my questions. When I asked Desmond in accounting to let me speak with his supervisor he told me no and would not transfer me. This company is at best disorganized and uneffective and at worst a outright scam.

FHA is a total SCAM. They took $499 up front and $199/month and promised to negotiate my loan modification. After several unanswered emails and phone calls, I contacted Chase bank and they told me that they had made several requests for information on my loan remod from FHA and all inquiries were ignored. As a result, Chase put my home in foreclosure and I am losing it. I contacted FHA and told them to cancel my billing, but they continue to bill me and even sent my account to collections for non-payment!!! I have contacted the California State's Attorney General and filed a complaint.

This outfit has scammed me out of $600.00. Now they are harssing me over the $198.00 a month that I refuse to pay till they get something done. Glad I saw this report before they got anymore of my money. I have already contacted the government hotline and the BBB. I would advise anyone else who has been took by the outfit to do the same. In April when I joined, I was told that it takes 60 - 90 days to get it approved, they have been getting my home loan modified for 6 months now, when I call their office all I get is voice mail boxes and no one will return my calls or email, except to tell me I owe them $198.00 or to threating me with legal action if I do not pay. The few times I have talked to someone other then the accounting department, it is the same old line we waiting on HSBC to tell us what we need and will be back in touch as soon as we hear from them. I have sents talked with my mortgage company. They stated that FH4A did contact them back in July, thats 4 months after I joined, so much for 60 to 90 days, but FH4A failed to send them the required documents within the time frame that they needed. Therefore they declained the request. The last email I recevied was on August 13, stating that everything was sent and they where awaiting to hear from HSBC, that was 1 week after HSBC had declined the request for lack of information. Now even when you call the phone number all you get is a recording stating they are ether away from the phone or it is after the business hours, which are Monday- Friday 9 to 5 PST. This is nothing but a SCAM to get $600.00 and $200.00 month out of people. I hope the government locks every last one of these a+++++++ up!!!

To Both Robert and FH4A, I just wanted to laugh at you guys LOL!!! I have seen your post at another complaint board for Certified Financial Protection Group. So basically you guys are the same person that related to FH4A / Financial Hope Protection Group. Even though they stat that they are not the same company. Mmmm let me see that make me think even more LOL. For those people know what is going on they should get my point by now. This Robert guys and FH4A post almost the same comment slightly change their story. And for FH4A, your service is a joke. For example; To use the term of "Credit Repair" that's illegal already. For those people who doesn't know about this.

I spoke with someone at XXXX and they were saying that the word "repair" is illegal and other companies couldn't use the word restoration because they weren't accredited by the IRS.
XXXXX is saying that there is 22 by laws and 100 subdivisions under each law that is required before the 3 credit bureau's put anything on your credit profile and if they don't follow each of the 22 laws that they have to delete the items regardless if they are yours or not.
Do you know if that's true? When a company doesn't have a real competitive advantage, such as the proven ability to get results quickly or that they're lead by a nationally recognized credit expert, they sometimes attempt to create an illusion to change the playing field.
This particular company wants you to believe that the credit "restoration" process is exclusively a legal one and they have the only magic pill to cure what ails you.The term credit repair is not illegal. To prove it, here is the Credit REPAIR Organizations Act, which sets forth the laws that apply to credit REPAIR organizations: http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/croa/croa.shtm
As for the IRS claim, well, I'm not an IRS expert but it seems to me the IRS doesn't accredit ANYONE for ANYTHING. Last time I checked they just process tax returns. Once you find a lie, you have to question the rest of what they’re preaching, right? It's kind of like the faith healer who's gets caught faking a miracle. His message is lost and he's forever labeled a fraud even though he may have done a lot of good for many people in his day. Just so we're clear, there are NO magic pills. No hackers who can go in a delete your negative records. No "black hat" subliminal messages hidden in our disputes. We simply use the law to defend your rights.

And I got more of it, but that is it for now . So both of Mr. Robert and Mr. FH4A, I will be seeing you soon at another complaint board. Thank you! much love.

UCGUY you can take your lies and stick them up your ass, I too was scammed by this company and the worst part is that someone that I went to high school with at Elsinore High worked there and hooked me up with them and ended up losing my home and they didn't do anything I was the one having to fax everything to my mortgage company each month and they continued to harass me after this for their monthly payments or they would go after me for it, really like what more do i have lmao so now what. found out they they have changed their name not once not twice but three or four times. They specifically say don't make your payments so i makes it easier for you to get excepted for certain loan modifications, seriously think that might be illegal.
