I made the mistake of hiring Father and Son Movers out of Jacksonville, Florida to move me from Orange Park (outside of Jax) to Tallahassee, Florida. I was given a time window that the movers were to come to pack up my belongings, which they missed. I had to call the office to find out where my movers were and what time they were coming. The woman in the office didn't have any record of my move, even though I was reading all the information off of the estimate they left with me when they gave me a quote. 3 movers eventually showed up to move me, and 2 were working, the other one was too busy hitting on my neighbor to be bothered to work, and when he was "moving" something, he was kicking it!!! Namely, my fish aquarium, that they were NOT taking...with live fish inside it!!! The quote was for pick-up/packing on one day, and delivery the next day in Tallahassee. The driver had no idea he wasn't going to Tallahassee that night until I asked him what time he would be coming to deliver the next day. After the movers left with practically my entire life, I called and tried to speak with someone who had more than 2 braincells that worked to let them know about the 3rd mover I had just paid for that I didn't feel I should be charged for considering I could count on 1 hand the number of items he actually touched to move, and that included the things he was kicking! I was told that I would receive a 10% credit to account for the "mishap." I'm still waiting for that credit!
My belongings were to be delivered the following afternoon on Tallahassee, which would have been a Thursday. I didn't receive my things until the following Monday, with not even so much as an apology from anyone at Father and Son. I did speak with a jerk named Steve (no last name provided, I wonder why?!?) who told me there was absolutely nothing they could do, the truck my things were supposed to be transported in had broken down and they were not going to load them into a different truck, he absolutely refused and laughed at that idea. He actually hung up on me when I told him that I needed to speak with someone else, because he was unreasonable. He was mean, nasty and just plain rude to someone who was paying his company WAY too much money.
Moving is never a fun experience, and I've made a few in-state, across the state moves, but NOTHING has ever been as disgustingly poor as every last second of my experience with Father and Son Moving. The 3 men that came to my home to move my belongings were not in any type of uniform, dirty, and quite scary looking. Had I been by myself at the time of their late arrival, I would not have let them into my home. The complete disregard of any type of customer service is repulsive. Not to mention the fact that they completely rip you off with their moving price. Intended up costing me twice as much to move 200 miles to Tallahassee than it did to move twice as far away when I left Tallahassee.
ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE looking for a mover in the Jacksonville, Florida area, STAY AWAY FROM FATHER AND SON MOVERS, you'll save yourself a lot of time, energy and aggravation.
