I'm sorry you feel like you were wrongfully fired. The company itself puts out emails and newsletters about scams. (Credit cards, debit cards, western union, or any pre-pay cards, and phone cards) for one. If you were not made aware of this then that should also fall on the store manager.
I've been called before from a man who said he was with one of our vendors. He wasn't of course but even if he was, the store does not ever pay vendors at our level. That comes from corporate. I got as much information as I could, hung up, then called and emailed the DM.
I don't understand why people fall for these scams? Come on, use your lump between your shoulders for a minute. If the employee doesn't know how the bills, or any other form of money is handled then there is a reason.
I worked for family dollar for 6 years and can not count the forms I signed stating that I understand the policy on scams and frauds. In fact when you get hired and your reading all those pages on the computer. One of them is about scams and how to properly handle them.

Family Dollar store manager

I am a store employee's family member and I am in and out of the store from time to time. The store manager is not ever there because she leaves her store and her employee's so she can run around town with her new boyfriend. My family member said they was fed up with her getting paid better than anyone in the store and she is never there to do any work and that leaves one person working the entire store for the day. I think someone should check into this situation because it isn't fair to the other employees and if the manager can't do her job she needs to be replaced but she says her DM loves her and will never do anything to her. I have heard people talking in our little town and even in the family dollar store the customers are talking about how she is doing. I have swore off shopping at that store at all until they replace management. Her having sex in the stock room with delivery men and running around with her new boyfriend when she is suppose to be working and her husband is going to end up killing someone in that store over all she is doing. I hope someone thinks enough of their customers to do an investigation at the least on this store manager.

Your family member should deal with this themselves, instead of asking strangers on the internet to contact the store.

Do you still work there? Because after this complaint I doubt you will be. You have to be some kind of joke as nobody can be this ridiculous.

Maybe you should take a long hard look at yourself. If you are working at a store you are a customer service representative. You do not have the grammar and syntax to properly engage a customer. I would delete this message because an accusation saying "boss preduce no hours for me but everyone else has been working" could get you fired if anyone figures out what that means.

Family Dollar horrible management

This retail company is horrible, they are overpriced, inexperienced and understaffed, the stores always look a mess, their cashiers are never at register because they always have to do other roles such as cleaning, stocking and playing security guards, irs always only one cashier, at times as a consumer I have had to go to the back and find her in the back office on the phone crying to her boyfriend, she is lazy, she flirts with the young customers, because she is young and unprofessional! She always has an attitude, the she talks to and treats her employees is just totally disrespectful, I'm at this store a lot and really thinking about not doing business with them, she needs leadership training, and to keep her boyfriend problems to herself, its always people not shopping just hanging out, they need a more older responsible people person in charge of that store, shes always crying, shes never pleasant because too busy crying over her relationship, this store needs help!

I agree with you, I love going in to stores where older people are working the floor. Always nice and willing to help. Can't get that with these useless younger people, too preoccupied with their idiot phones! Or nowhere to be found, probably in the stock room or break room goofing off, wasting company time and money!

I am a asst mgr and retired from my ft job of managing a call center after 30 years, just some feed back, a lot of new employees do not received any training, ALOT OF CUSTOMERS come in and see that there is a line of 10 people and don't bother to take the time to walk around the store to find their product and just yell where is THIS AT-like I should drop what I am doing and hand walk that customer so he is satisfied, I agree their should be a training program in place for the younger generation, quality cust service come easy to me because I have done it for 30 years but, the amount of work that is pounded on us is unreal and keep in mind that employee could be going thru something in her life that you may not understand, I am not saying it is right, but we get no breaks, including restroom breaks, and I just wish customers would keep their children near them instead of letting them run around the store open items and just place them on other shelves, what we have to deal with, is being a police person, hold in our bladders, no breaks no lunches, stock stock stock, and now watch for counterfeit money, UNDER PAID AND NO ONE APPRECIATES THE GOOD HARD WORK THAT SOME OF US ACTUALLY DO. btw I am never on my phone, its on silent and THAT IS JUST CUST SERVICE 101 NO PHONES OUT.

Family Dollar manager

I was just in the Family Dollar Store at Brietenstrater Shopping Center in Dayton, Ohio. A young lady and her mother entered the store together. The young lady was carrying a small white dog. Half way through the store a female employee, who later said she was the manager stopped them and said "It is against the law to bring a dog into a store, you need to leave." The young lady with the dog said, "Oh I'm sorry I didn't know" and she turned to leave the store. The employee who claimed to be the manager followed her and was berating her the entire way to the front of the store. She was quite loud about it all. The young lady's mother then decided to just leave as well and she stopped and told the "manager" that it was not against the law to take a dog into a store but that it could be their store policy and that her daughter was trying to leave the store. This manager proceeded to yell at the woman, even cursing at her. The woman asked for the corporate number and she said "I'm not giving you the corporate number you can just get out, I'm just doing my job. The woman said she didnt agree with the way she went about it. The manager never stopped yelling and being rude and was in this woman's face. The woman finally had room to get past her and out the door.

I left the store as well and told these two people that I was sorry for the way they had been treated and that I would never again shop there. The whole thing was utterly ridiculous. I told them to look online for the corporate number and to make sure they complained.

Family Dollar racism

Family dollar store in clearwater, sc., is a racist store; that has incompetent & racist managers that encourage job discrimination based on race & sex. They often allow white shoplifters to go free, while harassing & targeting black customers & /or employees, forcing them to leave the premises and stop doing business or working with them. Wrongfully terminating black male employees/asst. Managers, firing good managers who voice their concerns about misconduct. The district manager is a degenerate who alows his sorry management team to corrupt & do a horrible job running the store, thats why family dollar store in clearwater, sc has huge employee turnovers, and constantly changes managers every year!

Men are given manager positions. I was an assistant manager for one for 6 months, the district manager was a male. Trust me, there is no discrimination. And no, you don't need much qualifications, they pretty much give it to anyone.

Family Dollar filthy store

The Family Dollar store on S Madison's bathroom in Muncie Indianais filthy. I have complained about this before to corporate and they said they would pay them a visit and address it. All the store did was close the restroom to the public for a few weeks. They even had a Grand Opening a couple of weeks ago, after rearranging the store, and it looked like this. The general store appearance tis very uncleanly, especially the floors. I swear they never mop and only sweep the trash into the shelves in the isles, because there is always trash pushed up against the shelves. I have told an employee about the restroom before and asked if they knew what it looked like and he said "yes, the customers mess it up." There is dish soap set out to wash hands with, do you not carry hand soap? There is a filthy trash can that they have to see when they empty it, do you not have trash cans? The toilet paper hanger is handing from the wall, do you not have toilet paper hangers? And the TP is sitting on the FLOOR. You will note that the wall trim around the floor is laying ON the floor and has been for weeks. I was hoping that with the grand opening things would change, but they haven't.

Family Dollar termination

I was fired for absolutely nothing. Mark Jeffries said I posted something negative about family dollar on my Facebook. There is nothing ever said about that place except I checked in there. I have no proof of this claim they won't let me see any documentation and I know I'll give my fb into if needed to prove I didn't post anything. I am under a great deal of stress and anguish from this termination and of course I'm sure your company won't care either! Mark Jeffries or the LP manager ( my boss) is a coward and a liar. He is unprofessional and needs to be disciplined as a now ex employee I feel that he was sexist towards me because I filed a report against a former manager who was a boss of mine also. I pray your company has done dignity left to know ghost these kinds of things cannot continue to go on. I'm not the only ex-employee to complain we can't all be liars and wrong

You call your boss a coward, I think the true coward is you by continuing to post your lies even after you were caught and after the truth was brought forward by one of the people who worked with you. You also lied about the legal working age. Seriously grow up. The reason there are no negative remarks was as your past worker said was because you removed them, unfortunately the damage to his reputation was already done.

Family Dollar coupon/employees

I just went to one of your family dollar store # 6282 around 8:30pm mountain time.I was trying to purchase two of the Clairol hair color by using your family dollar coupon which is $1 off when you purchase 2. I also had two manufacture coupons which they were $2 off one Clairol color box. The cashier Helen right away was a little rude, she said I can't use these, we are not giving things away for free. I said they are not going to be free iam going to pay. The other employee step in and said I cant use both coupon it has to be only one, one manufature or family dollar coupon, they dont double she said. Well by going through this i didnt end up purchasing these products. I felt bad the way they were talking to me, i didnt want to fight it, so i just left. I read in your coupon policy that you can Only use ONE Manufacturer coupon and ONE Family Dollar coupon can be used per ITEM in a transaction.Duplicate coupons in one transaction are accepted as long as there is an item purchaed for each coupon. Am I understanding your policy incorrectly? If not, can you please help this family dollar store (Store#6282 7260 W 3500 South Magna, UT [protected])
understand their policy a little more. So we that are trying to save a little money dont make us feel bad for using coupons. thank you so much

Family Dollar employee abuse

I am sure you are all aware of all of the class action law suits against family dollar with regard to making employees "managers" in title only. They work 70-90 hours a week with no OT however they are not doing managerial duties but mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, freight, register, stock-this is LABOR and as such you should be paid OT for any hours over 40 . Apparently Family Dollar has purchased a judge in north carolina that now throws out all family dollar suits. To sue Family Dollar you have to file in NC this litigation needs to be moved out of NC in to a district that has not been corrupted by Family Dollar. Presently there are 1, 000 of plaintiffs and attorneys across the country facing this issue. Family Dollar needs to be put out of business. Just search the net under law suits against family dollar-warning-you'll be shocked-A question for family dollar-exactly how much did that judge cost...I have a little money saved perhaphs I could purchase a judge

Family Dollar security

While visting this Family Dollar as I entered the door a security recorded message came over the intercom stating that the store and all actions were being recorded. I have no problem with that, but when Jeff (He identifide himself in his rambling speech )) repeatley reminde the customers that he was watching them, that it was not a recording, he made it plain that he was in the store and the police would be called immediately . He went on with this sounding like a man that likes the sound of his own voice for over 25 seconds .If that was'nt enough 10 minutes later, some none talking, stuttering, broken english female named Ann or Angie came over the intercome attemping to repeat the same message .
I feel this type of security is very unprofessioal and uninviting to customers . At least get someome that speakes clearly and know how to articulate a simple sentence.
I have been shopping there every since that store opened and never have I been so insulted or felt watched. If that was'nt enough some spaced out looking, tattooed, female employee was standing around the cash register as if I had no right to complain .
I will NEVER shop there again and I will tell all my friends, family and co-workers to do the same !

Family Dollar not a good place to work at!

Just letting people know, if you are interested in getting a job at Family Dollar, you better hope and pray there is not anything that will happen while you are employed there. I was working at the Family Dollar in Moncks Corner for over a year and my kids got into a major car accident. I had to take some time off because I was taking them both back and forth, 40 mins away, to hospitals or surgeons after the accident. My boss told me to take some time off because of this problem, because I was the only one that could take them. My husband is in the miitary and out alot so he was not able to help much. When I was able to return to work, my boss told me to come back on a Friday morning to work. I came in with my uniform on and was told by the ###. manager that I had to do another application. After the application, she told me I had to go home until they called me back in after I was told to work that morning. Well a few days went by and I called and they kept telling me that they had to wait for my application to go threw again. I still didnt know why I had to re-do another application because I did not quit. So by the end of the week, I never heard anything. I called my boss and she told me that I could no longer work there because I did not give a 2 week notice. I told her I never quit, and she said she knew that but they took me out of the system. I wrote corporate and asked why I was not longer able to work there, because I never quit my job and told them what had happened. They wrote me back and said they will get back in touch with me that they needed to investigate in what had happened. I never heard back from them. I have proof of the accident and pictures of it all, to let them know that was the truth that happened, and why I wasnt able to come back in at the time. I called my boss on the scene of the accident, so she was up dated the whole time of it all. Its awful how your job will let you go after they told you that you still had your job after a bad thing like this.

But the manager rehired me and told me to come to work the next morning and I did not hear anymore from her. There are people working there now that cannot pass a drug test or background test but I guess thats good business. My kids got hurt and I had to deal with them when my manager kept telling me to take some more time off that I had my job still. Thats not a good business. The lawyer we are dealing with also said the same thing. Family Dollar is no place to work!

Family Dollar they would not issue a rain check when they were out of the coffee product

They would not issue a rain check when they were out of the coffee product! I was told that some of the stores didn't even have the Folgers coffee to begin with - the Coupon was for $2.75 off a 33.9 oz can of Folgers classic roast coffee. I believe that is false advertising - I would like a rain check!

Family Dollar not good company

Family Dollar is NOT a family company! My husband works 6 days a week which leaves very little time for famiy! Plus if needs to take time off for a specific reason sometimes it is quite difficult and he is always made to feel guilty. How do they expect people to have a life and take care of their family. They don't even pay enough to their 6 day a week managers so that their wives can stay home to take care of the household. I pray to God everyday to bring my husband a new job!

By far the worst place I have ever worked...(I am currently trying to find a better place to work.) Our air conditioning and heating for the building have not worked properly the entire time I have been employed there, which is going on four years. During the winter it's freezing and during the summer it's hot.(Our dress code doesn't make allowances for this kind of stuff, but thank god for our store manager, who said until they fix it she gives us permission to ignore it within reason.)

In addition to this our stores don't have adequate pay-roll budget to keep at least two people there at all times, which wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that due to recent budget cuts that puts whoever opens the store working for seven hours straight without a break, because they are the only ones there. This is the case for every store in our district. Then they come up with this new rule that managers have to work at least six days a week, which means working relatively short shifts and essentially wasting gasoline on some days for shifts that wouldn't even be worth the drive. I knew when I got hired that we are given some paid vacation time off, but there training programs don't really work very well, right now we have been trying to train our newest assistant for over a month, so no one can use their vacation time until she gets it. These working conditions are ridiculous! They have to start treating us better, otherwise who's going to want to work there?

What the hell does jesus have to do with anything. It's a dollars store. All you need to manage that place is a pulse and you are paid accordingly. You dirt ball, Jerry springer watching, trailer trash, animal hoarding, fat self entitled, lazy crybaby ### vermin need to just shut up, or work harder to improve your staus in life. It's your own lazy fault. If you didn't get knocked up when you were 14 and waste you education...

Sometimes people just get so greedy they take advantage, they figure who cares, lets work him or her cheap as we can, they better remember, that might be what people thought when they hung Jesus on that cross, let him suffer, he is nobody.Yet, look again, he was and still is number one, and if you believe in him all things are possible, such as after reading this post I will shop at a place where the employee gets a better wage and a nicer boss, or at the least a boss with a understanding of a family man trying to support his family instead of milking the system for a handout. God bless the working man and woman.

"They don't even pay enough to their 6 day a week managers so that their wives can stay home to take care of the household."

its Family Dollar...

"!My husband works 6 days a week which leaves very little time for famiy!'

crappy hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, etc etc. is part of working at a low level retail job, like it or not.

Stop being selfish. There are tens of thousands of people who would be happy to have to work six days a week. Your husband gets paid what he is worth. It's a friggin dollar store. Just wait until he quits because of your nagging and your fat butt is starving.

Family Dollar fraud

I am so sick of Family Dollar on Galatin Avenue. Ray (the Manager) never takes care of the property. My daughter and other kids wait at the bus stop on the Coffey Street side of the store, the sidewalk is still packed with snow and icy, kids are sliding and falling. Ray should have shoveled there and put down salt, it is very dangerous. There is always trash laying around also.

He hires the youngest employees that talk on their cell phone the whole time they are checking people out, very unfriendly and miserable people work there.

I started driving to Dollar General instead of walking to Family Dollar because everytime I go in there they are either out of bread or milk…He does not know how to do inventory apparently because he is always out of things several days before a truck comes in. I go into Dollar General and they are NEVER out of anything and always have so much more than Family Dollar.

Another major complaint is that sometimes when I go in there, no one is at the front register and I will ring the bell and it takes 5 to 10 minutes for someone to come up to the front. One time this past summer there were 5 people at the register including myself and no one was up there and the lady behind me says “this is bull sh–” and walked out with the basket in hand stealing the stuff from the store.

There needs to be new management and new employees with actual rules like “No personal calls while checking out customers” and “look customers in the eye and be nice and happy” I was a cashier for 5 years and I was good at it, there is NO excuse for what goes on there.

There needs to be ACTION done about this!

Hello first thing first did you tell the cashier about the person stealing the whole basketful of merchandise? If not then I doubt you ever work in retail next thing did you tell the manager about the icy sidewalks in front of the store? Does not included the parking lots, or the sidewalk by the road it is not there responsibility...
Thanks An FD employee...

Family Dollar employee unprofessionalism

I am taking my service to dollar general stores. I leave very close to the family dollar in hallandale and it never fails, the employees in that store are very unprofessional is all aspects. The attire is grundgy, everytime I go in there you have girls with different weave colors in there hair like red and blue and wear red eye shadow caked up on there face. One girl wears too little pants so every time she bends over you see all of her butt crack.. They yell throughout the store, talk about store business all while customers are in front of them. None of them are customer friendly at all. They talk on their cell phones all the time I am in there with no regard for the customers...

Family Dollar one checkout working

At 4pm today, we decided to shop at the newly built family dollar on peach orchard augusta, ga. 6 or 7 customers were lined up to checkout, one checkout open, the only other checkout had a large hand written note taped to it "no receipt". Who cares if you get a receipt if you are buying toilet paper, dog food, etc.? 2 people were working, rather one was slowlly checking out people and the other guy was standing behind him holding any empty bag. Needless to say, we did not stay to checkout, neither employee apologized for the long wait, the guy doing the checking out actually turned the new monitor around so the girl checking out could see what was on the monitor, or to us standing in line, that is what it looked like. How can this store not afford to pay staff to work, they just built a new store across the road from the old one., put in sod and a underground watering sprinkler system, who cares if the grass is green if you cannot get waited on? Plus, the new checkouts are at 90 degree angles and you do not even know there are two unless omeone just happens to be working at the odd placed check. How are they going to account for the long lines at christmas?

Waiting in line is already bad enough, but when there is only one employee checking people out it is the worse. Especially when another employee is obviously doing nothing. This has happened to me a million times and the reason I try to find ways to pass time while in line by going to www.inlinewaiting.com.
