EyeMart Express Insurance fraud

I have union insurance, this allows $500. every two years, went to eyemart express on 07/2015, bought $$377.15 of glasses and eye exam. Received a bill from my union insurance company that eyemart express submitted a claim for $506.18 and was paid my $500. allowance. Eyemart express office in Dallas Texas refuses to reimburse my insurance company, they claim the "checks in the mail" since 08/2015. As of today 01/13/2016 my insurance company has no check. Rep I have spoken with 5 times has been rude, used vulgarity's and has made racist remarks towards me. I am a white 55 year old construction worker. Do not do any business with this company, how they can do insurance fraud and laugh about it is beyond belief.

This was my 2nd visit. Our insurance company (Davis vision) had some upgrade on our policy.

Went in, SPECIFICALLY SAID, I do NOT,

Want any upgrades, plain lenses,

Whatever, is INCLUDED & FREE, with my frames.

Got home,

Looked at my receipt, showed both pair of frames, had UPGRADED LENSES!

I called, and the sales guy, said.. “you were NOT CHARGED, you did NOT pay anything, it’s covered by your insurance… “

DID I SAY NO UPGRADES? Your insurance covers it… damn, really?

Last I knew, that sounds like insurance fraud!

The store in ROCK HILL, SC … management, didn’t care, tried to make me understand … it was “free” for me… ummm no, !

I asked if they sales floor makes commission?

They said NO!

Call eye mart headquarters, THEY TRIED TO DEFEND THEIR ACTIONS!

Like, am I crazy? This is insane, and not a damn person cared, … until, I spoke with MY INSURANCE COMPANY, and sent them the call, I had…

These people gave ZERO F$&KS about this, we’ll nothings free, and hope they become accountable!

EyeMart Express Bait & switch glasses special

Eyemart Express Bait & Switches consumers from their advertised two pair for $38 single vision and $78 progressive to overpriced crap with a discount on the second pair which makes the deal just overpriced crap. Their "Special" is for a few eyeglass frames that are unappealing, super cheap and are not designed to fit an normal face costing $19. If you choose another pair from their selection of rebranded - over priced chinese frames (eg. What Walmart sells for $60 Eyemart Express sells for $110), then you pay full price but get a discount on the second pair. I'm a disabled veteran and I saw a lot of poor disabled people in the store. Really despicable. Be smart go to Walmart, Sam's Club or Costco.

EyeMart Express Service and false advertising

The manager in this store is a scam artiest, not only were we refused the sale of 78.61 on 11-11-2015 the mgr had the nerve to scream while we were in there the wrong poster was up and changed out the sign to two pair 38.61. The advertisement is got get you in the store, yet once they know that is all you want, suddenly the frames you have picked have the wrong price on them. so they cannot be included even when the sale associate picked them out. When the mgr the sales ###. knew we were definite and did not want anything but this sale they refused to help us and the manager made it impossible to get through the sales process. we were told 3 hours to get the two pair when in fact they had them in a hour. False advertising and the Better Business Bureau will be contacted

EyeMart Express Walk in's not welcome !

In the past years ago I would just walk into the west side Eyemart and they would work me in within a hour, But for the past two years I will walk into the place and it will be empty " No one in there " and they will say they are booked ! One time after this happened I drove over to the east side Eyemart in Evansville, In. and they were packed full of people I asked if they could work me in ? They said yes but I would have about a two hour wait I said that would be okay and thanked them ! Why can't the west side Eyemart do that ? I'm a truck driver it's hard for me to keep appointments for myself !

EyeMart Express Still unable to see/vision is blurry

First time customer at Eyemart Express...
I live close to 2 hours away...
Onsite Optometrist did eye exam ...
picked out 2 pair of glasses .. 1 was available .. the other had to be ordered ... they would ready in about 2 weeks.
When they were in I went to pick up both pairs of glasses .. when I put them on I could not see a thing! They kept telling me just take them home try them for a few days... I told them no way! I could not turn my head or move my eyes without feeling like I was about to get sick and I felt like I was about to fall. I insisted they check the prescription ... then they had me see Optometrist, different Dr. this time ... he gave me a different prescription .. supposedly first Dr. got the prescription backwards ...
Got new lenses put in ... I took them home ... tried them for a few days ... vision was blurry ... I called them told them I was still having trouble seeing clearly. Manager told me to come back in ... (this was my 3rd 2 hour drive!) Once again they had me see another (the first one that I had already seem) Optometrist ... AGAIN he changed my prescription to a much lower strength in one eye ...
Its now been 2 weeks since that last visit ... I still cant see clearly! I am so frustrated! I can't keep going back to get my eyes and glasses checked!
This is ridiculous! They stay in business by taking your money! While leaving you in the position that you have to see a new Optometrist ... pay for a new exam ... and pay for new glasses! They got almost $200 from me! I am on disability ... don't have the money to throw around! They should be held accountable for making and giving shoddy, unsatisfactory, dishonest products and service.

EyeMart Express shoddy work, pricing

We went into the store with our prescriptions, my mom, my husband and myself after seeing the multitude of ads on tv for no-line bifocals for $99. I picked out my frames, which were $69...and sat with the 'representative' while he went over my glasses information. Almost $400.00. When I asked him about the $99 ad...he responded. ..oh you don't want that...that's only for the $39 frames...well...my frames were only $69 so why weren't my glasses $129? No response. Well they threw in a free pair of reading glasses so I reluctantly agreed to the purchase, against my better judgment. Less than a year later I was having trouble with the glasses and tried to get them to check them...no help. Finally took them to my ophthalmologist and was told that the glasses were just poor quality. Never, ever again!

Eyemart Express advertises "one hour" for glasses, I went back after 5 hours and my glasses still weren't ready. I have known it to take over 24 hours. Fake Advertising is illegal.

EyeMart Express bad glasses

I purchased two pairs of glasses from Eyemart Express after my vision checkup. My regular glasses had the frame break FIVE times in the first 8 months. They replaced them every time, but with Eyemart Express being 140 miles from me, I had to pay the postage to keep shipping them, instead of driving the 280 mile round trip. Finally, they decided to replace the frame completely. (I believe the lenses were improperly fit, as it was always "stress" breaks & not the result of dropping the glasses or any other abuse.) When I received my new pair, they lasted a little while, but the nose protectors broke. Walmart replaced them for FREE, plus the cost of the nose protectors, which was about $2. Next, a screw fell out. Walmart replaced it for free & now the lens fell out & Walmart put that back in for free.

My husband's glasses didn't even last 6 months! The lenses clouded over & weren't able to be used. He brought them back in & one employee said they'd had a bad batch of lenses right around the time he got his glasses. That employee's boss came out & said, "NO, it wasn't then!" And they refused to replace them. You have NO warranty on the lenses of new glasses, not even for ONE year! Needless to say, we have switched our business & will never go back to Eyemart Express.

I WENT TO EYEMART IN FAYETTEVILLE, PURCHASE 2 PAIR GLASSES, DIDNT MATCH PRESCRIPTION, WRONG SCRIP WAS PUT IN, I FEEL IT WAS DONE TO CUT THEM COST, AND THE LENSE COLOR WASNT WHAT I PICKED OUT THERE, LATER MY FRAME BROKE WHEN I SPOKE WITH THEIR REP OR EMPLOYEE I WAS BLOWN OFF WITH A NASTY ATTITUTE.NEVER WILL GO THERE AGAIN.KAY

EyeMart Express shoddy workmanship

My daughter initally went to eyemart express to have a 6 month old pair of glasses repaired and was told that they couldn't fix them. So as she was in desperate need of glasses she bought two new pair. Upon receiving these glasses she looked at them only to find that on both pairs of glasses the lenses did not fit properly in the frames. The associates were rude about fixing them and now three months later one lense fell out and they are not scratch resistant like they are supposed to be. She paid 600 dollars for these glasses and the customer service people were extremely rude. We will never do business with them again

EyeMart Express customer service

Have been going to this particular Eye-Mart for several years. Up until now they've provided good service. The attending optometrists have been knowledgeable and professional. This store, like many other stores like it, has a high turnover of staff, especially those attending to customers. Our last exams, dated 2/27/14 for new glasses ended with me and my wife selecting new frames. We we told they'd be held for us until we came back the following week. Upon our return, her frames had been returned to the rack and mine evidently sold to someone else. We listened to apologies and they found something my wife could live with (after informing her the original frames they helped her pick out would never work with her prescription - they'd be "coke bottle" lenses), but nothing close to what I had selected for me. They told me to come back next week as they would be getting in another shipment of frames (the type with magnetic sunglasses included). Came back the following week - nothing. They said they'd call me when something came in. Another week went by, no call, so I stopped in again. Listened to more pathetic apologies and a subsequent promise to call when something came in. This patterned continued for the week 2-3 weeks and my wife finally said we've tolerated enough and I would just have to pick a regular pair of frames if I ever intended to get my glasses from these people. So we went in last week, I begrudgingly settled on non-sun glass equipped frames and was again told they'd hold them for me until the following week. They'd even remember to put my name on the holding bin this time. Couldn't make it in last week, but my wife made a point of stopping there last Thursday and physically verified the frames were still there, accompanied by a promise that they would be held until the following (this) week. Went in today to get the glasses made and yep, you guessed it, they couldn't find the frames anywhere. Most businesses live or die on customer service and in order to be successful at this they require just a shred of competence. None to be found here. The consistent excuse is that the personnel are new. Avoid this store at all costs, get your glasses elsewhere and let's hope this store either trains it people to a marginal level of competence or closes altogether. At a minimum, most managers are held accountable for this level of performance - this manager should be relieved immediately.

EyeMart Express customer service

Went into your McAllen store this afternoon and was totally ignored by both of your associates. One of them was waiting on another customer and the other was busy putting on some type of lotion. They did not even greet us when we came in. I then proceeded to look at the glasses and after about ten minutes of being ignored I proceeded to leave. It was then that one asked me what I needed and I thanked her for ignoring me and she said she thought the other lady was helping me. The other lady walked up and asked what was going on. When I told her, she said she thought the other one was helping me. Needless to say this is the worst customer service and you've lost my potential business and that of my friends and associates. I will be sure to convey to them my experience at your store. You obviously need to train your employees to provide good customer service.

yup! sounds about right. some of the girls there have a very flippant attitude. they're always right, the know it alls. they forget the customer is always right & we're their bread & butter. when they want to make a point they even argue. they take their sweet time about customer service. what happens when they hire immigrants.

EyeMart Express poor made glasses

Three times to get glasses that I could see with, a young lady selling and sizing bifocals, with no idea what shes was doing, and no one around her was helping. Four months later my 600.00 per of bifocals, are useless to me, I have to use reader on top of my glasses. And my lenses are starting to fog. My last set of glasses lasted for seven years

EyeMart Express lousy customer service & racism

I wish I had found this site before I purchased my glasses! I asked repeatedly when I was purchasing my glasses if I was
covered for scratches. I made it clear that I wanted whatever coverage necessary to get my glasses fixed if they were scratched. I was assured they were covered and were scratch resistant. 3 weeks after purchasing two pair, one pair popped a lens which fell on the floor.I was able to get the lens back in the rim using a microfiber cloth they gave me at the store, but I still had a scratch. When I went to the store, they said I had to buy an additional coverage to get my glasses repaired. They insisted the glasses were scratch proof, and I had gouged my glasses! I told them, so what you are saying is they are not scratch proof...we went back and forth for a few minutes in a crowded store. I told them, thanks, I've learned my lesson. I will post my complaints everywhere I can find a legitimate place to do so, and plan to inform the Better Business Bureau, and I will contact my insurance company which covers Georgia state employees to warn them about Eye-mart Express.

Just asking for some clarification from you OP if you will indulge me please?
I see you listed bad customer service & racism as the reason for posting a complaint against this company.
Does receiving bad customer service from a company make them racist? Or were they being racist toward you so therefore they are guilty of giving you bad service?
Why do I ask you may wish to know?
The thing is I have read quiet a few of your complaints and most if not the majority of your postings state something about racism and/or discrimination.
TBH its truly hard to believe you are being discriminated against or that others are showing racism as many times as you claim.
Heck if bad service and/or racism go hand in hand then I should be posting more complaints of my own! I am white and I get bad service all the time! How dare them!?! Bunch of racists!

EyeMart Express false advertising unfriendy

Adds tell me that you can get 2 pair of no line bifocals for $97.. I ended up paying over $300. And they were not helpful at all to help with picking out the frames... It seemed like too much of effort to help me.. Rattled prices off quickly.. No more was said.. One pair was sun glasses and figured to pay a little more... I will never go back. I have a friend that went there right after me and it was the same experience with the end price and they were not friendly...

EyeMart Express poor service & dishonesty

First of all, eyemart express states that you get your glasses back within an hour, not true. If I had known in advance that I couldn't get my glasses back within one hour, I would have went back to lenscrafters where I received excellent service. I was a first time customer of eyemart express and I selected two pairs of glasses to be made. I had a bad feeling about the place because it took two different people to come and measure my eyes. The individual who actually makes the glasses came out with his long white coat and took measurements of my eyes. I paid a total of over $600.00 for two pairs of glasses. After paying for the glasses, I was told that it would take a week because they had to send them off because I had transition lenses, bifocal, no scratch lenses, etc. I was disappointed that I had to wait a week; however, I was very polite and I went on to my next destination. Two weeks went by with no call from eyemart. Then they told me that one pair of my glasses was back but the other pair had to be remade which took an additional week. When I finally received the call to pick up my glasses, I was disappointed because I could not see clearly out of them, my vision was blurry. I thought maybe it was because of my new prescription. I waited two weeks and I decided to go back to my optician to make sure eyemart had filled the prescription correctly. Well, they filled the prescription correctly; however, the measurements were incorrect. The doctor's assistant stated that I was currently looking through the (Computer segment) of the glasses and that the height was off and the glasses needed to be remade or new lenses purchased. I went back to eyemart express and they called the doctor's office and then they told me that one pair of my glasses were too narrow to put everything in them that I wanted so it was suggested that I select another pair of glasses. I selected another pair of glasses and the young lady assisting me stated that I should be glad that I took out the insurance because they didn't pay for remakes which were completely their fault. I looked at her in disgust. After she reprocessed my remakes, it was an additional $20.00 because of the new pair of glasses cost more. I was highly upset. Now it will take another 2 weeks to a month to get both pair of glasses back after they have had my $650.00 for over 2 months with no glasses to my satisfaction. No one apologize or offered me any discounts. I tried to file the claim with my insurance company to recoup some of my cost that I paid to eyemart and the insurance company needed additional information from eyemart. Eyemart stated that their discount was better than the discount offered through blue cross blue shield and would not give me the information the insurance company needed to completely process the claim. I am very disappointed in eyemart service and the quality of their product. I have been back to the store more than five times and I still don't have my finished product. I would not suggest anyone go to eyemart express. I have learned a valuable lesson, never to put cost over quality. Eyemart express may have good prices; however, the quality and service are horrible. Save your time and money and do your homework before shopping eyemart express.

EyeMart Express service

purchased 2 pairs of glasses totally over 600.00 very poor quality went in a couple weeks ago arm had come off one side, I was told they were not fixable i would have to buy another pair, frustrated and went to neighborhood reputable optician where they put in a new screw and only had to wait five mins with no charge, terrible experience, how could they try to sell me another frame because that didn't want to do an easy fix, instead sell me glasses I didn't need. the other pair side arms loosen quickly frames are of poor quality will never do business there again! You get what you pay for and these were crap!

EyeMart Express faulty materials

I bought a pair of glasses from Eyemart Express in Medford, OR less than 1-1/2 years ago. Now one of the lenses is de-laminating (bubbles appearing in the lens), and this store will do nothing about it. They accused me of using chemicals on them and leaving them in a hot car, etc etc which was not true at all. The lens material is defective, but since it has been over ONE year, they refused any consideration! BEWARE!

EyeMart Express no tools to adjust glasses?

I went into an EyeMart Express to have my glasses adjusted as they were getting very loose and wouldn't stay on. There were two other customers in the store asking for adjustments as well. When it was my turn for service, I showed the girl what needed to be done and she said she didn't have the tools to fix them. ? This is a company devoted to eyewear fitting and repair! I drove home and my brother actually had an eyeglasses repair kit with small screw drivers and fixed them in 30 seconds. I feel like they were just weeding out work they didn't want to deal with.

EyeMart Express poor customer service

Went there for eye exam and glasses. Picked out frames and ordered. Sales person very unsure of himself. After I left, he called me to say he forgot to take a measurement and I needed to return. Got my glasses and decieded to add no glare. They said 7-10 days. On day 10, I call to see if they are in and told my frames were damaged at the lab in Texas. They have sent a new pair and to call back tomorrow for more information! Called and was told it would be early the next week even with a rush. On Thursday, day 20, I call and they "just" came in. Went to pick up and talked to manager to tell him of the lousy service and all he said was sorry, these things happen. Will never go there or recommend ANYONE there!

EyeMart Express bad experience/service

I have never had an experience like this before with ANY business. On 10/7/11, I went in to have an eye and contact lenses exam. After the exam, I ordered contact lenses and had my eye glass prescription filed at Eye Mart. After receiving a text message in an hour saying my glasses were ready, I returned to the store. I tried on the glasses and they did not appear to be the correct prescription. I was told to take them home and put them on in the morning so that my eyes could become adjusted to the new glasses and prescription. I did this and it did not work. I returned to the store a few more times with the same problem. They tinted one of the glasses to see if that would make a difference (?) They also upgraded one pair from the plastic lens to the polycarbonate to see if that would make a difference. They made this change, contacted me via text after an hour, I went back and had the same result. Also during this time the optometrist examined my eyes a couple more times. The first re-examination resulted in staying with the same prescription even though I continued to say that I could not see out of the new glasses. He told me that my new prescription is actually not as strong as my existing prescription (He took my existing glasses and examined them to see what my existing prescription was). I do not understand why it is weaker? When I tried to wear the glasses, they seemed stronger, but after he said that, I realized the problem was that they are not strong enough.

This last time I kept the glasses for five days and tried to wear them only to have headaches. I went back to the store on October 19th. I went up to the Eye Mart counter and told the female representative that I could not wear the glasses. She said with an elevated voice - "you didn't even give them a chance!" I replied that I have never had this problem before and have never heard of "getting adjusted" to a new prescription. I asked for the store manager and was told she was gone for the day. I was directed to talk to the optometrist. He examined my eyes again and said that the astigmatism in my right eye was a little worse, so he changed the prescription. I asked him if it didn't work this time, could we just make my prescription the same as my existing prescription since I can still see out of my existing glasses just fine. He said that this new prescription would not be much different from my existing prescription. I did not receive a text message saying my new prescription was ready. I waited - no text the next day. I went by the store on Friday the 21st and was told my prescription was not ready. As of today, October 28th, I have not been contacted about my new prescription. I guess since I've had problems, I lose the one hour service promise.

I have been dealing with this situation for almost a month. During this time I did call the 1-888 number and was told that I could not get a refund and that they would try to work with me. At this point, I just want my $356.96 back. Considering the situation, I think I rightly deserve it.

EyeMart Express glasses no good

Went to get my prescription filled since I had eye surgery I needed new prescription I went to eyemart express to save some money and I had been there before. I've been there 4 times to get my lenses straightened
Out and all the employees say there is nothing wrong with them I still see a shadow in the lenses. The employees really don't have any idea on your glasses when they don't wear bifocals and they just don't seem to care. I paid 200.00 and I still have trouble with them. if I
Could get my money back then I could go get these fixed somewhere else. There ads are not even close to what they
Want to charge you.

Phyllis at the Trussville, AL is very unprofessional and rude rude rude. I was with my mother who was asking some questions about bifocals and online prices and she was short and rude as can be. I was going to get my daughters glasses her but forget that!

The ad clearly states "MOST glasses in about an hour". Your Rx may be higher than normal and require more time, machines may be down, or other issues that may have pushed the ETA back a bit. While I do understand your frustration, I'm sure the associate would have been glad to answer any questions you might have had about the time taken to complete your job.
