This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I purchased a 4 month old Malshi puppy from Elizabeth's Exquisite Angels on Feb. 28, 2015. Due to inclement weather, she was not able to be shipped until March 7, 2015. The breeder informed me that she was healthy, had all her puppy shots, except for not having a Rabies shot. When I got her on March 7 at 6pm, she seemed fine. However, on March 9 she was lethargic, not eating, throwing up and had diarrhea. She would drink water and throw it up 5 mins later. I called the breeder and explained this to her. She informed me to give the puppy honey mixed with wet food, so she would not become dehydrated. Except she wouldn't eat it. March 10, my puppy was not any better, so I took her to my vet at 9 am. I told them her symptoms and they gave her a Parvo test. She tested positive for Parvo and the vet said she had a 50/50 chance of survival since she was so tiny, weighing only 3.5 lbs. She stayed at the vet for 4 days being quarantined and getting treated. They stated that she would have had to be carrying the virus for at least 5-10 days prior to her arrival to me, that she could have not caught it on the plane and since she had symptoms so soon. The breeder even talked to my vet. The only thing the breeder could say to me was "I'm sorry." She would not cover the vet costs. She claimed this puppy was "healthy" however, she was sent to me sick with Parvo and also Ear Mites, that I had to cover the vet bills for. I had to keep her quarantined for 2 more weeks at home. This whole situation has been extremely upsetting and I would just like to let other people know about this breeder too.

I saw this breeder on Instagram and thought the puppies looked so adorable. I just lost my baby after 17 and a half years so I can not take another heartbreak. My parents gave her to me and she was one of the best gifts I have ever received. Especially because this Covid pandemic has made me even more lonely and heartbroken for my little one. After reading this I am going to pass on this breeder. The money is not a problem but the health of the puppy is. If a puppy is sick is usually they don’t live a long healthy life or a life of health issues and that is truly devastating . I realize this review was a few years ago but usually breeders/people don not change. THANK YOU for the warning. I truly appreciate it.

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of your baby. We truly understand how this review will worry people and even (as is this case for you) make people never adopt a baby from us. We have replied to this review with our side of the story which is in the comments below. We have been raising these angels since 1995 and if we were ever intentionally neglectful to our babies and our practices, we would not still be in business. We have many many more glowing reviews than we do anything negative. We truly hope you find the perfect addition to your family. I only want to reply to this so if anyone else reads through the comments they will understand that our puppies not for everyone, but we wouldn't still have many happy customers (many that have bought more than one from us) if we are a poor breeder and/or person.

I would like to give a full update on the situation with Kathy Wiesenaur. After being threatened with lawsuits over not returning the initial $750 deposit for POPPY and $650 for shipping for POPPY, Elizabeth called Kathy to discuss everything. It was a lengthy conversation that ended with Kathy asking if she could still have Palmer and stating she still wanted him. Elizabeth and Kathy both agreed that the following day Kathy would call her vet to go over everything before she fully decided, so her mind could be put to ease. The following morning Elizabeth received this text. It was also during this conversation that Kathy finally understood the remaining $1, 300 that she had paid to us, was for a totally different puppy that she backed out of getting 2 days before I was supposed to fly to Florida to deliver her. We only wish her the best and hope she finds the perfect baby for her.

And lastly, here is Palmer’s (Cody, as she had renamed him that) health certificate from the vet on 10/1/21. Just to assure everyone that he was in perfect health. To go to Florida you must also get a fecal done as well as turn in every serial number and expiration date of every vaccination and worming given.

I was getting ready to purchase “Palmer” and the night before he was to be transported I was asking Aubrey all sorts of questions so that I could be completely ready for his arrival. I had noticed on the website that he had already been neutered and my curiosity as to why finally got the best of me and so I asked why. Aubrey informed that he had had hernia surgery and they just went ahead and neutered him at the same time. This was the first I had heard of the hernia and although Aubrey said this would have no bearing on his future health, it made me nervous that she had not disclosed this earlier. It made me wonder what else she had not disclosed. For the amount of money they charge, their puppies should be perfect. I backed out on getting the pup and I was heartbroken…and also lost a great deal of money. Shame on you, Exquisite Angels for not telling the whole truth. People, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BREEDER!

Let me tell the full story. Kathy originally purchased a puppy from us, Poppy. She had put down the deposit of $750 as well as paid for shipping, $650. With the shipping I had purchased my plane ticket to Tampa, FL. 2 days before Poppy was to go home, Kathy informed us that she would no longer be able to take her and she understood she couldn’t get her money back. I advised her that we would be more than happy to extend her deposit to another puppy of her choosing for one year. (Although our contract, that she signed, states deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE) A couple months later she contacted us stating she was ready for a new puppy. She wanted one that was mellow so I advised her we had 3 puppies currently that would be more on the mellow side. She chose Palmer and I told her at that time that he was also already neutered, to which she stated “Perfect.” Because Palmer was cheaper than her originally puppy, I advised her she only owed another $450, and I didn’t even charge her for an additional plane ticket and purchased that myself to personally deliver him to her to Tampa. The day before he was to leave, she was asking questions to prep for his arrival and at that point asked why he was neutered (although this also could have been asked weeks ago when I advised that he was neutered, it was not that she just saw it on the website. I TEXTED HER TELLING HER HE WAS, and I will attach pictures of the conversation). I did not hide the truth on why he was neutered and stated that when his hernia was fixed, we neutered him as well. I advised her that if she was uncomfortable with that we could refund the $450 additional that she had already paid and she could choose another dog. I advised that since it is the day before if she chooses one of our puppies, I couldn’t fly out the following day and IF there are any coats associated with changing my flight she would incur that. Which is more than fair considering we did not even have to apply the deposit in the first place and I PAID FOR THIS TICKET MYSELF. She ended up choosing to have the refund of $450, which I promptly did within minutes. What Kathy is failing to tell you is that we had been kind and generous with letting her apply the deposit when we did not need to and she actually is not out any money that she shouldn’t already have been since she backed out of the original sale 2 days before that flight was supposed to happen. I will be attached all correspondence to corroborate this story.

Susan and Bobby came to personally pick up precious Elphie on 4/19/15 (yes, nearly a year before she sent us this message). They both came and met her and fell in love. They saw our facility and it is quite obvious we take great care of our puppies and the parents. She purchased Elphie and at the time she did ask how to take care of tear stains. Elphie was nearly 6 months old when she was purchased and barely had any as we always take care of tear stains. I let her know that we use Eye Envy for any tear stains (I showed her the actual product we use) and also let her know that many people will trim around their eyes as tear stains are common in all Maltese. She stated she didn't want to cut her hair at all, but that she would get the Eye Envy. It is common knowledge that Maltese have tear stains and there are many reasons as to why they are caused. After Susan told us that it was due to bad breeding (which is COMPLETELY false) I consulted with our veterinarian. He actually laughed out loud when I told him was this other vet supposedly said. He said that it couldn't be further from the truth. As to her complaints of Elphie's personality, I am going to attach screenshots of 2 updates she gave us before this message was sent to us. One was from 1 week after purchase and the other was from 3 months after she purchased her. You can clearly see how much she loves her and that she had no complaints at all! This is the VERY FIRST time anyone has ever complained that one of our puppies had this issue and was not well socialized. She even admits to seeing MANY reviews about our puppies that the customers have said the exact opposite of her! Elphie was in perfect health when she left our care and we are sad to see that something about her environment now has caused her to have such issues.

This is a message I sent to Elizabeth's Exquisite Angels after having one of her pups (Arrosa Pearl - who she still uses as an advertisement for Maltese - although she has extremely tear stained eyes, from poor breading, not shown in pics)... " I just have to contact you about our sweet Elphie (Arrosa Pearl). We love her SO MUCH and feel like we are rescue parents. I am very proud to have rescued her from what I think was a very sad/bad life. For the amount of money we paid you for her, (1500) I honestly expected a very well adjusted, socialized pup! From day 1, she has been terrified of strangers and is very submissive in nature, as indicated by her cowering and peeing on the floor every time a person tries to pet her. (still ongoing) She is especially TERRIFIED of men, which I think indicates that a male caretaker of your dogs is abusive. It took 6 months for her to allow my husband to love on her or even touch her without wetting herself. Your website and facebook page makes it seem like you hand raise these puppies in your home, but in all reality, it seems as though they live in pens behind your house and have very little contact with human love, at best. I have read reviews online about the health and well being of puppies that people have purchased from you and although my sweet Elphie is physically healthy, she was not mentally healthy when I got her from you. Thankfully, with love, vet care, and medication, she is getting better a little at a time. I think you need to look in to who you are trusting to care for your SUPER EXPENSIVE puppies who act like shelter dogs. I am happy to have RESCUED my sweet girl from a horrible life."

I just wanted to give an update on this situation. I did finally hear back from Jelene, but she is still only offering to send the vet bill and a statement from the veterinarian when I specificaly requested for all the detailed documentation to be sent. My veterinarian is demanding these records so not only she can look over them, but so Oklahoma State University can look over them to ensure the puppy did in fact have Parvo. Instead of wanting to comply with this request, Jelene is just wanting immediate payment for the bill. As I have been looking into this more, I have found other complaints on different sites from Jelene and now she has added more to the allegations. In fact, she has added things that she never even addressed with me and I am going to post a screenshot of those other complaints below. I have found multiple contradictions to Jelene's story and to me this disproves the validity of her statements. I will also attach a screenshot of an email she sent me where she states, "Thank you for calling to check up on her during the time that she was being treated. I realize that all of this has been upsetting to you as well." This fully contradicts her allegations that "this lady does not care about the puppy once they leave her hands. If they are sent sick, she is basically just like, 'I'm sorry' and then there's no more communication from her after that" (please reference photo attachment of Jelene's Yelp complaint for this quote). I am also going to attach a picture that she sent me of Sophie just 2 days after she arrived at her veterinarian. In this picture you will be able to see that Sophie is alert and attentive. Also, please notice that directly below Sophie there is another dog. Any ethical veterinarian is aware that Parvo is highly contagious and needs to be isolated and quarantined (and Jelene even states in this complaint that she was quarantined for 4 days), however in this picture it shows Sophie being exposed to another dog. I also have a voicemail from her veterinarian, Dr. Shimmery, the VERY DAY Sophie was taken to the vet. I would be more than happy to let anyone hear this voicemail, but in a his voicemail Dr. Shumpert states that Sophie is "happy and alert" and "we've had no vomiting". He also states that her white cell count was at "9300, well above the normal amount". Again, any veterinarian or anyone that has even the most basic knowledge of Parvo knows that the very day a dog comes to the vet and tests positive, it CANNOT be happy and alert. I could keep going on about this issue and could also post more screenshots of emails between Jelene and myself, but I do believe the above information will be enough to at least discredit the validity of her allegations. After 20 years of business, it saddens me that my impeccable reputation could be in danger due to lies and slander.

This is in response to the buyer, Martha Morris, (Jelene Morris) from South Carolina who had purchased a Mal-shi puppy from me in February, 2015. This puppy was actually 2 days away from being 5 months old. I say this only because this puppy was not a young puppy and had not been sick one day of her life while in my care. She was sent to Jelene 100% healthy, current on all her vaccinations and wormings, and had the health certificate from my veterinarian as proof of that. From the moment I was aware that Sophie was sick, I was in constant contact with Jelene and her veterinarian. Yes, I even spoke with her veterinarian twice and I have a voicemail saved from him. He told me directly from the very first time I spoke with him, that he does not blame me, the breeder, and that Sophie was a very healthy puppy. I even have emails that I sent Jelene when I could not reach her by phone checking on Sophie, and had left voice messages on her phone. Obviously, from the moment I found out about Sophie, I contacted my veterinarian and informed her about Sophie. My veterinarian does not concur with the findings of her veterinarian and stands behind Sophie was 100% healthy. Jelene has not given me the records from her veterinarian to give to my veterinarian. This is essential for my veterinarian to see all the records from her veterinarian. I do need to add, since Sophie was right at 5 months old, she had been examined by my veterinarian more than once for her health checks and found 100% healthy at each visit. Parvo is a HIGHLY contagious virus. If, in fact, Sophie had parvo, she could not have contracted it here as she was around all of my puppies and not a single one came down sick as can be confirmed by my veterinarian
. Jelene is correct in saying, I profusely said "I am sorry", and this has been heartbreaking for me as well, but saying I am sorry, does not mean this puppy was sent to her sick or that I was negligent in any way. Since all of this has happened, Jelene, along with several of her friends have been spreading untruths about me. She has even added allegations that Sophie has one eye that is significantly smaller than the other eye and missing fur around her eye, which had never been mentioned to me, her veterinarian did not mention this, nor did he mention the ear mites. Sophie was checked for ear mites by my veterinarian right before she left and she did not have any, along with her eyes and they were perfect. Again, this can all be confirmed! I have deleted the post from her and her friends that were left on my Facebook page and other sites, but did a screenshot of them for verification before I deleted all the untruths being told about me. I would like to say I have been in business for 20 years and have an impeccable reputation. With that being said, after all the slander, I did email Jelene and tell her that I would pay her vet bill in full OR refund her fully for Sophie, plus the shipping that she paid and the shipping expense of her coming back to me, but she would have to sign a contract with me agreeing to take the complaints / slander off. I only want my babies placed in a home where they are loved and cherished, and with all that was being said about Sophie, I had doubts. I was not negligent or in the wrong in any way. I have not heard anything from Jelene. I have been on puppyfind.com since September, 2005 and have pages of glowing reviews. I take pride in my breeding program and the angels that I produce along with the customer service I provide. No expense is spared when it comes to my angels! I am attaching the last email that I sent Jelene as proof of the offer of a refund for Sophie or the vet bill to be paid. Anyone that has ever done business with me can attest that I have always encouraged people to do their research on the breeder and never jump into buying a puppy on impulse. I understand the internet can be a very risky place to do business, that is why I always talk with people over the phone and answer all their questions to put their minds at ease. I welcome any and all questions regarding this issue and have all the documentation from my veterinarian, all emails and correspondence between Jelene and myself, and the slander that has been told. If you are considering one of my angels and have any concerns due to this complaint after viewing all the information, I would recommend that you continue looking for the puppy that is right for you. I want anyone who adopts one of my angels to be 100% confident in Elizabeth's Exquisite Angels. Lastly, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, I want Sophie to be well and have a wonderful life!

Below I have attached the email that I sent to Jelene. It was long, so I had to break it up into 4 pictures, they should be in order.

A good breeder will always stand behind her pups and not avoid your calls. A reputable breeder will also not breed for teacup size. They are usually too small for breeding but unethical people see it as a way to charge more. Thanks for warning people

The breeders website has many red flags. Hopefully others will see your complaint. Very sad situation.
