My name is jeremy brewer. Budget Van Lines hired Edens' Moving Services for my cross country move. I staged everything by side of the road awaiting pick up. I am an auto technician. So one of my items the biggest items is my professional MAC tool box. Is barely 2 years old if that. The quote was not horrible. I did pay extra money to have a special equipped truck so my box would be taken care of and handled correctly. In the contract my box was to be covered with moving blankets to cover the paint. When receiving my belongings in Vancouver, Wa where i moved to from Cincinnati, Oh. My expensive tool box was not covered and was not strapped down at all. As you can imagine my box had severe damage. Scratches, missing paint and a partially broken handle. I have pictures before leaving to show condition of my tool box in cincinnati when loading and leaving in Eden's hands. Among the tool box damage. At least half my plastic tubs were damaged in some way. Some open, some deted badly, Some damaged so bad Edens reboxed my things in one of their own boxes with out notification. Or least a courtesy call. My tools were out of their trays and just thrown in. Had to pull out every socket one by one. Luckily nothing was missing. The damages totaled to 1800.00. Which is repairs on my tool box and replacement of broken items. Edens of course claims no liability. That I didnt pay for extra warr. So i have to buy extra warr. for your service to do the job promised and right the first time of taking care of my things? Does this sound right to anyone? Since the contract in my eyes and others was not abided by on their part...doesnt that void the warr.? You said you would cover my box, and you didn't. So how does the 60 cents per lb thing fair resolution. Which comes to be about 100.00. So 1800.00 in damages offer by their ins. is 100.00. Hmmm. I will say after complaining they did bump to 600.00. But if it was completely your fault for damages shouldnt i get the full amount? Box covered...no damage. Everyone would of won. This is my complaint. Hope it makes it to the right people. Edens is hoping I go away with tail between my legs. Not before everyone knows how my belongings were treated and how they reimburse people for their mistakes. I have all pictures to back this up.

My Name is Nikhil and I am a company Representative and will comment about this complaint as we have different perspective and proofs to our stand! Mr Brewer did move with us from OH to WA State and did complain at the end of his move about us destroying his Tool box and that his Tool Box now is completely damaged! We have immediately asked Mr Brewer to submit a formal claim and to support his claim with pictures! As Mr Brewer Denied any additional insurance of his items he is liable by law to $0.60 cents per lbs for damages occurred by company handling! Mr brewer filled a claim with Anthem Claim Management who are a third party claim adjustors! looking at his pictures and at our paperwork it looks like The tool Box is actually in great shape and despite a small paint scratch that couldn't even be determined if it is a result of the moving process, Anthem Claims Management have denied his claim!
As a reputable company, we did not look for fault and we stood out to make a small gesture and offer $200 for Mr Brewer to have the toolbox painted so we can go a head and put this behind us! Mr Brewer was not happy and wanted $1600 to paint the tool box! since we are in the service business and have some understanding at cost of services, we know that a 3 bedroom house complete paint will cost about $1500.00 and a full new paint for a car such as Honda Civic will cost anywhere from $900 - $1200 - having such a big difference we have still raised our offer to $600 just to End the dispute! How ever at that point Jeremy decided to go off the Normal routes of dispute settlement which is normally Arbitration Process by A Third party arbitrator, instead he decided to try and get money from us by Bashing our name online and Threatening to go to Media, and even sent us an email extorting the company by saying that until we pay him $1600 he will not stop bashing our company all over the web! we at Edens Moving Services are confidant in our company operations and integrity and have enough repeat and satisfied customer to proof our Legitimacy! We will not negotiate or settle with anyone trying to threaten or bash our name for the sake of reimbursement! we will be happy to pursue justice and resolution of this dispute in the normal legal routes! Also if such Bad wording and extortion will resume, we will seek legal actions against Mr Brewer!
