I am sooo glad I decided not to attend ecpi (raleigh campus). I went & took the entrance exam. I was interested in taking the practical nursing program. After passing the 1st test, I was told that i'd have to take the math & reading portion of the teas exam. The recruiter email me some links (supposed to be study guides) which were no help at all. These guides had the questions/equations & the answers, but did not show how one would get these answers.

I passed the reading & was 3 points short of passing the math. I was told that I could retest for $25 and had to purchase the teas study guide from them for $40.

Meanwhile, this recruiter continuously tells me that I could take their medical assisting class which didn't require high scores. After that & hearing over & over from the recruiter, "this is where the rubber meets the road" - referring to whether or not I was serious about obtaining a new career & enrolling at ecpi, I had no interest in fooling with this place.

If I were initially interested in taking medical assisting, I could have went to wake tech. My pell grant application was already approved and covered the amount wt charged. My guess is because price was never mentioned (except for the $200 application fee for the pratical nursing program) or couldn't be found on ecpi's website, I would have ended up having to get a loan or two. I figured if I had to do that, I may as well go to a 4 year or a community college. After reading the complaints about this place, I consider myself lucky & caught on to these characters early on. I'm especially thankful for the review from the director stating the cost of the pn program. Now I know why the amount was never mentioned...

I also went through ECPI for Criminal Justice. Yes, the pace was hectic and very fasted paced, but this weeds out the ones who are there for an education, and the ones who want something handed to them. I was truly committed to bettering myself. ECPI gave me that opportunity and I ran with it. Most of the complaints are from those who weren't serious about what it was they wanted in the first place. ECPI is like the military, its not for everyone.

I graduated from ECPI and I'm working as a nurse right now. My Advisor
was great! She told me how hard it was going to be and told me that if I did the LPN program; my life would be soooooo much better. And it is.

I recently saw my Advisor
in the grocery store with her twin daughters and I just had to give her a hug. I thank God everyday for the opportunity to go to ECPI. I was tired of waiting list and pre-reqs. I got in and out! All I can say is you get what you pay for, so if you don't mind constantly being stopped in your education and constantly being told that there is someone better suited for the class than you, then continue on at the Community Colleges. But for me... I'm glad I went to ECPI.

It is very expensive and the program sounds good on paper but when you get into it its very disorganized. The head of financial aid at Raleigh is very rude has no customer service at all. They only care about money and not the walfare of the students... Its indeed a ripoff

I keep hearing the same thing, ECPI is all about money, I WAS considering going there. I graduated from Miller-Motte's Medical Assisting progran but can't find a job. I might reconsider and go to Durham Tech for their LPN program. Just how much is ECPI's PN program anyway.?

I'm glad someone else has figured out that ECPI is only into money, and don't give a whit about education. They are run on a commission basis, and treat people very poorly. Definitely NOT a recommended educational facility, and over-priced.
