Unauthorized charges!
Complaint Rating: 99 % with 1241 votes
Company information:
Easy Saver
Lanham, Maryland
United States
Phone: 800-444-9491
www.easysaverrewards.com

I have been billed by Easy Saver Rewards (EASY SAVER 800-355-1837 PA) for $14.95 per month since making a purchase on Proflowers.com. Easy Saver is apparently associated with ProFlowers and I inadvertently signed up for their 'services' while placing my order. They claim that I requested to be a member when I replied to an email after placing an order. I do not recall replying to any email or asking for the service. Obviously, their business practices are disingenuous at best, since I, and many others, have been fooled by this blatantly unethical business practice.

I informed ProFlowers of this problem and they gave me this number: 800-444-9491, which is different from the one on the bill and on their website. I talked to a service rep. named 'Linda' and she was willing to give me only a fraction of my money back after a long-winded sales pitch about how great their service is. She became rather forceful and obnoxious when I demanded all the money back, claiming that Easy Saver had legally billed me since I signed up for the service. I asked for a manager and talked to 'Jennifer' and she eventually promised to pay back the charges.

Thus far, I have been credited with all but one of the charges; they credited my card a few charges at a time.

If this happens to you, I suggest calling the 800 number I listed above and demand your money back. If that fails, ask for a manager and tell them you are willing to file complaints and inform the media of their unethical business practices. Also, informing ProFlowers, or other companies linked to Easy Savers, would be a good idea.

omg! i ordered from pro-flowers back in october for a funeral. and today, november 19 i find a 14.95 charge from EASY SAVER! wtf is easy saver is what i was thinking! so first, i called the 1800 number on my statement and it was asking me for all this info. i then googled EASY SAVER and found this! THANK GOD! i called the 1800 number someone else had posted and i spoke to some woman and she said, oh yeah you signed up and should've got an email. NO i did not get an email. She tried to make me keep the services. I was like NO I just want my money back. She said okay, I cancelled your "membership" and you should see the 14.95 back in your bank in 7-10 business days. So all was good, hung up with her. Went back to look for that 1.95 charge everyone says they were getting and SURE ENOUGH! There it is on my bank statement. RIDICULOUS! NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM PRO FLOWERS! I also think I will cancel my debit card just to be safe!

I too have had dealings with this service provider. I didn't even know I was signed up until I notice unauthorized charges to my banking account. Unfortunately, I do so much shopping online that I don't even know which site set me up with it. Though I have used ProFlowers within the year. I called the 877 number that showed up on my online billing statement. Utterly ridiculous how they can even charge you in such a manner!

We have discovered charges of $14.95 that have been withdrawn from our acount dating back to May. We discovered a withdrawal of $1.95 in April. What made us question these withdrawals was that they were made to "Easy Saver" on the same Friday each month between May and November. We have not authorized any withdrawals to "Easy Saver" at anytime. We do intend to take legal action against "Easy Saver".

I noticed a charge from easy saver for 14.95 and had no idea what it was. I went to easysaverrewards.com and called the 800 number. They told me (in so many words) that my information was sold to them from Oriental Trading Company, which is a trinket toy and crafts website online that I always buy from. The person I spoke with gave me no trouble, said she cancelled my "membership." I asked for a refund. She said she could refund two of the four charges. I said -not good enough- you refund them all or I get BBB and my bank involved. She tranferred me to another supervisor who said she would remove the rest of the charges.

I had the samething happen to me. I found that calling ProFlowers about these transactions workout a lot better. Easy Saver would only refund us for one charge. I called ProFlowers and they called Easy Saver and got all the charges taken off! So if you have this problem call ProFlowers!

They can say they send an email when you sign up and an email when your trial is set to expire, but then how do you explain 21 pages of folks who ALL say they never received any such email or the membership materials that the company claims they send out to all who enroll?

And if they are a legit company that provides services for over 30 years, then why do ALL of the people on this blog say they never even received the shipping rebate or other discount offer that enticed them to click on the pop up window?

Don't be fooled, this is a scam, which is why they refund people's money...because they can not legally prove that any of us agreed to be charged for their services and they are trying to limit complaints to the FBI internet crimes and to the FTC.

I had this happen via Oriental Trading Company. When I called Easy Saver, these people were very congenial, and took my tirade of complaint very, very appropriately and kindly, then issued me all 11 months of charges. I was very pleased with them, and very ashamed of my anger towards them.

The first person I spoke with has the ability to refund 2 months charges. She then sent me to a customer service person who refunded the rest. She said that whenever this happens, if someone calls, they will work with them. Their services are not any we can use at this time, but they sound like a very legitimate company which has provided service for 30 years (according to the lady I spoke with).

I chalk this up to my own stupidity for not reading the fine print on a pop up window, and not following charges on my credit card for over 10 months!!! They said they sent an email when Ii signed on, and another two weeks later to tell me the 30 day trial was ready to expire.

Easy Saver number I used is 800-355-1837

This happened to me recently. I purchased some flowers for my mother's birthday in Feb. '09. This month (October), I noticed that I had been billed by "Easy Saver" since March '09. I called the Easy Saver number (1-800-355-1837) and told them that I wanted all of the unauthorized charges removed. They asked me to verify some information, put me on hold, came back and told me that they had removed all charges. Hopefully, this is true and I will not need to call them again.

I would encourage everyone to ask for all of the charges to be credited. I was prepared to tell them that I would take this to the media as well as legislators and anyone else who would listen, but it did not even come to that. This is obviously a very unethical business practice, and this company should not be able to get away with taking advantage of unsuspecting people who are simply purchasing flowers for their loved ones. It's also important to call Pro Flowers to file a complaint.

It's a good thing that i check my account frequently. My wife recently bought some flowers from proflowers and for some odd reason they began to charge our account today (i saw the charge in pending so i decided to look them up thus i found these threads)... I called them up and this must have been the most self discriminating claim i've heard in a while: They claimed that our computer had automatically accepted to be charged 14.95 because we didn't say "No thanks" to their pop up. Which tells me that these guys should seriously be investigated because from my book this would qualify for a virus (or worst a phishing bot).

The very same thing happened to my husband, this is a on continuing thing and needs to be stopped! We are responsible people and don't ever open emails associated with ads, or anything were not sure of, Easy saver has been pulling money out for 3 months, and every once in a while, like someones being sneaky, well were being cheated, and in the way Money is going in America whoever is responsible for this sneaky deceitful task will be held accountable for there actions I will file complaint, and get all my money back, and if not will take if further with the better business bureau and take prior actions to fix this problem. Look at all these complaints?

I purchased Flowers in June of 2008, and unbeknownst to me I signed up for a service called Easy Saver. I have now been billed a total of $284.05. This is an incredibly dishonest method of sales, and despite the fine print I never gave my credit card number to Easy Saver. A reputable company with a BBB rating of A, should not be associating with dishonest businesses or entities that use deception and poorly disclosed terms and conditions to steal money from paying customers.

Well, Cherry Moon Farms gave me no satisfaction except to apologize for MY mistake. Huh? I didn't give these guys ANY information! They swiped it when I clicked on that link. In that instance only - clicking on the link - I made a mistake. I trusted a link through a company I'd just done business with.

Here's the kicker. I contacted ProFlowers because I had ordered flowers through them at the same time, and I felt they needed to know how I felt about their affiliation with this program. They not only checked to make sure my account was canceled, they went to bat for me and had the company remove ALL charges from my account! I didn't expect that! They didn't tell me "we're sorry you made a mistake" - they apologized for the confusion and fixed it. That's worth something these days.

I just recently found out that this had been happening to me since Feburary (9 months). I followed the advice in this article and it really helped out. They tell me that they will stop the charges and refund all of my money in 7-10 days. They also gave me a confirmation number. They were very polite and sensitive to my situation. So we will see if they keep thier word or not.
Just a big thanks to the person that wrote the article, it was a big help.

My Easy Saver charge came through Cherry Moon Farms. I ordered Easter baskets for my kids. There was this ten-percent off or something going on. I clicked. I saw it wasn't for me. I closed it. Damn if the charges have been appearing ever since. The company refunded this month's charge and promised to cancel the account. But I'm not going to see those other months of charges refunded. Bastards!

This also happened to me. My wife ordered flowers on Proflowers.com and we were signed up for these "services" that we never recieved or wanted.

This is a scam and you need to call the number 800-444-9491
I talked to the rep Nikki and she was able to refund all my money back within the next 7-10days.

This is a huge scam and ProFlowers is well aware of it. If you discover this has happened to you then do what Tommas did and call 800-444-9491 directly. Be assertive when you call and tell them these charges were not properly advertised and demand that all the charges be repaid in full to your account.

Even with the refunds given for their so-called "service", imagine how much money they are making on the people who haven't noticed the charges yet, and how much interest they are making off of all the money. It's crazy. What is their service anyway? I don't recall ever receiving an email from them or anything.

This also happened to me through a proflowers.com purchase. I called to cancel my "membership" last week and another charge appears on my account today. Figures. I was told by both proflowers and easy saver that I would be refunded the money. Hopefully, they will come through as promised. My husband and I have bought from proflowers for years but I will never buy from them again . I would have never expected something sneaky like this from them.

I too was scammed by Pro Flowers and Easy Saver I find it odd I get a lot of e mails about Pro Flowers and Cherry Moon but never got a single one from Easy Saver a service they insist I signed up for They had been taken 14.95 a month since april of 2008 to present before I caught it They said they would refund 4 payments but only return 1 payment thats when I did some more research and found out that it started in April of 2008
I then called Pro Flowers Corprate office 1-858-729-2800 and asked to speak to the Marketing Director they said which one I said the one in charge of them all They gave a girl named Amira S who put in a conference call to Easy Saver they played Tag Team trying to convince me that this was a service I signed up for and requested which is a bold face lie Only after treating to hire a lawyer and tell my story to the News Media and the mention of this blog did they agree to return all of my money

Additional Information
History/Principal Officers Encore Marketing, now EMI, was formerly known as American Leisure Industries. It has advised the BBB that its corporate operations include several divisions: Encore Preferred Traveler Club, Villas of the World, Home & Garden Savings Club, Shoppers Discount, Health & Beauty, Premier Fitness & Wellness (Plus), Identity Watch, Protect-your Cards, and Fortune Builder.

Stanley D. Plotnick is Chairman of Encore Marketing, International. Creghton Holden is listed as president of the Encore program. According to the company, the controlling stockholders of Encore Marketing International are also the controlling stockholders of Credit Card Protection Agency, now operating as Innovattive Direct, which is located at the same address as EMI. The corporations have some officers and directors in common. A separate report on Innovative Direct is available.

The company uses a "negative option" in many of its promotions. This requires customers to actively intervene in the automatic annual renewal of services in order to stop billing and services. The relationship does not lapse, until stopped by the customer.
