A dispute I have with E&M Motors.

I bought a car with E&M Motors on the 09 September 2016 at E&M Motor. This was through advise from a colleague who recommended that I connect with his girlfriend's dad, who happens to own a dealer, for my car requirement when I informed him I was looking for an automatic car.

I contacted the dad and he suggested that his friend (next door dealer) has something for me.

Trusting his judgement (considering his a dealer and the fact that I knew nothing about cars), we went to the next door dealer, whom I later learned his name was Marius, and he showed us a nice looking Automatic Hyundai i20. He said the car has never been in an accident and it's in a very good condition - I must agree the car looked the part from the outside. The I told him I'm interested and we can continue with paperwork. However I couldn't take the car home with me as he said "He still needs to paint the car just to make it nice and remove small scratches". I had no problem with that, and I agreed.

Then days later I met up with him in Hatfield to collect thee car as he said it was ready. I didn't pick up anything wrong with it as I had never driven before except the car I was learning how to drive with a month earlier.

A few days later from that day I picked up that the car boot does not lock, and the fog light (one of the lights) does not work, car keys are messed up and that the hooter does not work and that the seat belts are loose. I alerted him and he said I should bring the car in and he will fix my issues.

He had the car for a while and days later claimed I can come collect it. However, he only bought a Kia Key for the car and only the boot appeared to be fixed.

The few days I the car with me I picked up more issues and this cycle repeated for the next few weeks. Up until I took the car in for a technical inspection were they told me the car has serious issues and is not road worthy. i contacted him requesting that I get a refund. Which he now refuses to give me and hence my reason for contacting the ombudsman.

Ek hoop u kan my help met 'n probleem wat ons ondervind met E&M Motors, Silverton, Telnr Marius [protected] en Philip [protected].

Ons het in November 2015 'n Ford Fiesta ST Ecoboost by hulle gekoop. My seun het 'n paar weke later probleme met die voertuig begin kry. Die voorwiel het gebars as gevolg van die swak kwalitiet bande wat op die voertuig was. Toe hy die bande vervang, is vasgestel dat die voertuig se voorste remme onklaar is.

Hy het vir Marius gekontak om die remme te laat herstel, want tydens die koop is
geen probleme met die voertuig uitgewys nie.

Na 'n lang gesukkel het hulle n gedeelte van die R1700 betaal, nl R1110. Die verskil is steeds nie betaal nie.

'n Paar weke later het my seun ook gevind dat die agterste remme ook onklaar was. Hy het weer vir Marius gebel waarna niks gebeur het nie.

My man het toe self met Marius gepraat en daar het 'n hewige woodewisseling ontstaan tussen hulle.

Daarna het ek besef dit gaan nie help om met die handelaar te redeneer nie. Ek het die probleem onder Giulio van ReFin se aandag gebring en gevra om die handelaar te
kontak om die agterste remme te herstel en uitstaande bedrag vir voorste remme te betaal. Giulio Maio kontak nommer is [protected].

Hy kon ook nie reaksie van hulle kry nie. Die handelaar maak net lee beloftes en dan hoor ons nooit weer van hulle nie. Die betaling van R1110 is eers gemaak nadat my seun gese het hy gaan die voertuig terugvat en dat Marius sy deposito van R90 000 kontant aan hom moet terugbetaal soos hy dit van my seun gekry het.

Hoe die handelaar die voertuig deur die toets kon sit met die remme wat in so toestand was, weet nugter alleen.

Sal u asseblief probeer om die handelaar sover te kry om die kostes te betaal sodat ons die agterste remme ook kan laat vervang? Ek het kwotasie vir parte aan hulle per email gestuur.

Selfs Giulio Maio is raadop met hulle swak diens en lee beloftes. Op die stadium is
my seun se lewe in gevaar om met die voertuig in so toestand te ry en ry hy net kort afstande daarmee.
