DTE Energy false billing

Dte energy company is billing me for gas and electric used at a home I sold over 4 yrs ago. I finalized all elec. And gas bills upon sale of the home. Don get it. I have been told they do this as ascam to hook former homeowners for bills on homes that have been forclosed or walked away from by the present owners.

DTE Energy dte wants payment for services I did not use

I sold my property, paid all final bills, and cancelled all landlord automatic utility transfer agreements about 10 years ago. I got a call out of the clear blue last month, april 2009, from a collection agency, alliance one, stating that i owed a balance for services used at a house i sold 10 years ago. I called dte, they sent me a fraud package, i returned it, and landlord/tenant customer care dismissed it saying that the landlord automatic transfer was never cancelled, and they would not remove me as the responsible party unless i showed them the letter from 10 years ago showing that i did cancel it. Despite the fact that i sold the property 10 years ago, and am a resident of ohio who did not use any utilities from dte in october 2008. I also sent in a title search showing i did not own that property, the suddenly claimed that it was for a balance for a different property... That was also sold 10 years ago. Both dte and alliance one have been extremely rude and will not listen to reason. I told them i have no intentions of paying a bill for utilities used by someone else, at a property i sold 10 years ago. I asked that they send me all documentation in writing showing the claim, and i have not received anything from dte or alliance one. The dte landlord automatic utility transfer policy states that dte will not charge the landlord for services used by the tenant that the tenant did not pay. Again, i have no tenants, property, or accounts with dte. Can someone help me with this? Has this happened to you? Is there someone at dte, other than landlord/tenant customer care, who can help me? In 2002 i had a near fatal accident, and no longer work anymore. I cannot afford to pay for someone else's utilities... Also, what's to say that another 10 years won't go back and the resurface again? I feel that what they are doing is unlawful, and should be reported to some organization. Can someone please help? I was an excellent customer and paid all final bills, and made sure all accounts were closed with dte. I owe nothing.

DTE Energy telemarketing

Incessant phone calls all day and into evening hours. They escape the national Do Not Call Registry because we do business with them but do we have much choice since they're the electric utility here? To make matters worse, it appears they are even outsourcing the telemarketing to some country where English is not the primary language!

DTE Energy worst customer service

DTE consistently makes billing errors, blames it on customers, charges the customers, and refuses to correct (or even investigate any problems).

First, when I moved into this house and transferred my service from my old address, they never sent a bill to the new address. They shut off my service, charged me to reconnect, and insisted that I had never been a customer! I had lived a mile away, and been a DTE customer for nine years prior. They said my previous address did not exist, and even when I provided copies of four years worth of DTE bills at that address, they could not find my account, and insisted I was new. I filed many complaints and never got resolution.

Two years ago, DTE stopped sending bills. They blamed it on the post office. I signed up for "recurring payments" (I felt forced). I paid all finance charges for late fees. Again, no one responded to my complaints.

This Feb. 09, I got a shut off notice. DTE automatically charges my credit card company (I checked w/VISA and they have paid), but DTE didn't charge the account. They actually lied and said that I had "un-subscribe" to this service, although I have proof that my card was charged, and I also have copies of ebills I have continued to receive.

Once again, DTE denies it is the fault of the company. Once again I have paid the finance charges, but I am still receiving shut off notices!

DTE's service is abominable! They treat customers horribly because they can -- they have no competition in Oakland Co. It is ridiculous that we in Michigan don't have access to better service, and something should be done to put this company out of business!

DTE continue to rob their customers and fear no one in the Michigan Public Service Commission, State Attorney General Office and the local courts. I think DTE customers should be complaining to the Federal Trade Commission and our elected officials in Washington this is election year.

i am with the land lord program with dte and it is the worst service. i have called customer service on three different occasions and the person never comes back to the phone she just leaves you hanging on, i was on hold for 30min i gave up dte you really need some help (is the service so bad because we are in Detroit?)

DTE Energy shut off

Urgent electricity was shut off 10/08 shut off bill in last residents name. I paid deposit for service in sept.2005 and never received bill. Never. Contacted better business bureau then dte headquarters contacted me. Took shut off notice to dhs received letter that they paid $350. Oo, then last week received bill with my name to imediately pay $60.00 which I did in person. Still no services
And spoke this morning with ms. Watkins at headquarters and now says to pay $180.00 this is a run around so now I still have no lights (H e l p) any suggestions or contacts. I do have school age children will there be lights for our holidays.

DTE agrees to do work and then once you pay them they back out on completing the whole work order agreed to. They came out to bury a line last year. Two subcontractors later, they still don't have it to code. The second contractors just buried it with dirt and said it was all set. The line was connected to the meter. They we're suppose to correct Another line that they know is not code and won't do anything to correct the issue which was part of the work order. I would not have spend all the money and buried the one line if I knew they wouldn't finish all the other line work discussed and they agreed to.
They are useless workers in Macomb county.

Power was shut off on Thursday while my wife and I were at the hospital visiting her terminally I'll father. Went in Friday morning and paid the bill, was told power would be restored by 4pm. At 5pm, there was still no power. Called to complain and was told that the technician arrived, but was unable to remove the lock that they put on the meter and I would now have to wait until Monday. WTF!?!? Everyone I spoke to placated me and comiserated, but told me I'd have to wait. I was finally transferred to a crew chief who told me that they would have a tech out between 5:30 and 10pm. Around 8pm I got antsy and called for a status and was told that they could find no one to take the call. Again, WTF!?! The really funny thing is that tomorrow I'm supposed to give a speech about people of color in the field of technology at the NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet. Oh, by the way I found out that they don't put locks on the meters in the suburbs. I have no recourse and they have no competition. This service is very disappointing.

I agree their customer service sucks, i was told my bill was 136.00 and i paid 150.00 on it when my bill comes somehow its 531.00 and oddly there is nothing they can do about it, dte blows take your money somewhere else

DTE Energy insufficient service

Our air conditioner was not working. They sent out representatives 3 different times in august. The last guy told us it was an a coil that had to be replaced but dte did not cover the cost. We had an outside contracter come out and replace the a coil. He said I replaced your a coil but that wasnt the reason it wasnt working. It is a leak in your condenser unit. We had to pay $600 for an a coil which we did not need because dte told us that was our problem. We then had to pay $75 for the repair in the condenser unit. I contacted dte to see if they would reimburse the $600 because they are the ones that told us we needed an a coil. I talked to a mr. Michael romeo who said he would look into it. I have tried to call him 3 times and he will not return my call. We would never have gotten an a coil put in but dte's representatives told us that was why our air conditioner wasnt working. We have been a faithful customer of their home protection plus for many years and have not had any complaints but this just doesnt seem fair.

DTE Home Protection sucks

I have had the exact same issue with Mr. Romeo and DTE Home Protection Plus. I am their customer since many years but last two years have been worse. My refrigerator has not been working for 4 months but DTE would not respond. Every tech they send wants to replace a different part and the part is either not covered by DTE or gets back ordered for many weeks. I escalated the matter in January. Mr. Romeo sent a standard letter asking for the same details, which I sent again. Since then there has been total silence from his end. There are similar issues with my dishwasher but the company isnot willing to commit anything.

DTE Energy terrible customer service

I have attempted to return to receiving a regular, paper bill from dte energy ever since I enrolled in e-bill and I never received my statements. I contacted the company by phone twice and sent one email requesting them to please send me a bill.

Instead, I kept receiving threatening calls when my bill due date passed. I would immediately pay when I was told the amount, and once again request a paper bill.

The last time, they did not call - they just placed a negative report on my absolutely perfect credit report.

I called to, once again, complain and I received a lecture about how I was supposed to know when my bills were due and how I should have been going to the website to check the amount.

This is not a company who should have a monopoly on service to customers. They are incompetent and it is the customers who pay the price.

After 6 months of delays and two different service techs coming out, DTE tells me the cost to cover exceeds the value of the washer. So, they will do NOTHING!

I tried to call, speak to a manager, and nothing!

We are being charged 7-900 per month for a hone that is 1500 sqUre feet. We have reported this to DTE several times and gotten no where. We don't have any big things pulling electric. No threatening to [censored] off service if we don't pay over 1, 000 a month for electric.

I called DTE 3 days in a roll, they said a truck will be out, nothing, has been done.
The power lines from pole to house should be removed or put back up, they
pose a fire hazard.

My billing was cut off for 5-7 morning months, I initiated the conversation with Dte three months ago and I'm not getting any results ! My phone # is [protected]!

I have received automated calls stated my bill is pass due. After speaking with two customer service reps. on today's date, no one is able to stop the calls from occurring. I received two calls today, 7/16/18, (1) 7/15/2018, (2) 7/14/18. I am in the process of filing a criminal complaint for harassing phone calls.

Every day at least once we lose power, usually for hours! Through attrition Dte has failed to maintain adequate personnel and as a result has failed to maintain equipment! There is no excuse for such shoddy service! The stock holders be damned. Hire some people and keep our power on! 😡😡😡
