About 1992, I was given Lithium for Bi-Polar, I agreed, and the dr said that it was such a small dose, that I didn't need the blood test given for to much in the body. I took this med until Nov 2006, being in Aug, 2006 I started losing wieght, vomiting, no appitite, lathargic, on Thanksgiving night, My daughter took me to ER, Casa Grande Hospital, and they admitted me and told me that (later) I probably had 6-8 hrs to live. This drug shut down my kidneys, I was in the hospital 2 weeks, and went through some horrible testing, halucinations, emotions, I don't know how my husband and daughter survived this horrible, alarming episode. When I went back to the dr and said what had gone on, all she could say was I am so sorry. I think I needed more than that, I don't sue doctors, but, I think this dr, should of tried to remedy the situation. Not happy with the situation, have a lot health problems from this.
