Dollar Tree made family and myself feel like thieves

I went shopping to Dollar Tree on 7/16/16 at 8:00pm on Randall Rd. In Algonquin, IL, store #4079. If was like 5 minutes after going in the store when the cashier announces in the intercome, " security on aisle 2". It was only my sister, her husband, her 2 kids, my mother, grandmother, my husband, my 2 daughters, and myself. After that there was a guy following us around the entire time we were in the store. I even went up to the guy and told him it was ridiculous that we were being followed and he only stared and ignored and continued following us. The employee at the register had a name tag that said Angela (female) and another floor employee had a name tag that said Dawn (female)and the jerk that following us around didnt even show me that tag, but he was white, long hair, thick shape body. I am dignified I have no need or look like a thief.

Dollar Tree Humiliated by rude sales associate for not giving to their charity!

When I shopped at Dollar tree on 7/7/16 store #3359 I was harassed to make donation to their charity, I refused and got into a big argument with the employee, K. Lomara #[protected], at the store #3359 on 4655 N Western Ave, Chgo, ILL. She even drew another customer into the argument against me and they both made fun of me and were even laughing about it in front of a long line of customers. I complained about this before and the employee told me he will win a contest if he gets the most donations. The time was at 6:00 PM and after going into this store from day one of its opening I can never go back into there again without animosity, I will go anywhere but to dollar tree to shop and pay more and NEVER be Harassed, Humiliated, and Embarrassed again. Who do the employee's think they are, fighting and arguing with customers over making them give them donations? This is a policy to harass and cheat their customers into giving them money. Extortion! Dollar tree doesn't make enough from their crappy merchandise so they have to extort money from their customers? I will be sharing this on all social media and their pages there also.

First of all I do not believe you do not work for Dollar tree or have someone that does as a relative, or some other vested interest in Dollar Tree. This was in your first response: " I have had customers make smart remarks when we ask for charity donations." I can see you are now trolling my complaint and calling me names to discredit my legit complaint. This is what I expected so I filed complaints with dift agencies that will investigate a verified, with receipt, customers complaint.

Typical, you are turning it around so it is the customers fault? You right away assume I made a smart remark? This has been going on for a long time asking everyone in line to "DONATE" to your charity and again another sales associate explained that they win a contest if they get the most 'DONATIONS." Your associate sales person had a bad attitude and continued to humiliate me and draw other customers into the "discussion" to make sure she got her way. But it seems to OK to humiliate your customers for "DONATIONS?" Now I suppose she will be PROMOTED for her tough ### bad attitude to your customers? Again I have been a long time customer and have been treated very badly for my loyalty to Dollar Tree. I have also filed this complaint with a photo of my receipt, (so I am a verified customer, ) with other agencies since I expect no satisfaction from your store. If enough complaints are filed you will have to answer for them. Have a nice day.

So you believe that Dollar Tree is the only retail store or location in this country? You are a fool. I actually work in a pharmacy. And yes, our pharmacy does do charitable work and have fundraisers for various charitable organizations. Next time, learn to read and comprehend. Your complaint has absolutely no merit and I think you know it. As for calling you names, I never did that, until now. And you are a fool.

First of all, I will have to answer for absolutely nothing. I have nothing to do with Dollar Tree. I can only assume you think I work there. You are wrong. Second, I am far from typical. I in no way turned it around so that it was your fault. I asked how you got into an argument about it. I was asking for more information since your complaint was not clear.

However, based on your response, I can see how it happened. So, yes, based on your words and your needless attack, I can only assume the argument started with your smart mouth.

How did you get into an argument about it? Just say no. I have had customers make smart remarks when we ask for charity donations. A simple no is all that is required.

Dollar Tree customer service

Today July 5, 2016 here in Wichita Falls, TX store #1997 Sales associate Tracy cashier #2970163 8:11 PM...My mother, daughter, and I decided to come in and get a few little things. I regret the decision to stop since I never in my life have ever seen such rude employees. Through the whole visit, not once we're we ever greeted by the three employees that were too busy talking in the front of the store. Shelves were very empty and there were boxes on the floor that had yet to be stocked. We found only a few things and went to the front to check out, once again all the employees were still sitting around talking. Only one register light was on, so naturally that was the register we went to. Once everything was placed on the counter, the employee named Tracy walked over as if she were upset that we made her work. She began to scan the items and threw them in the bag. One of the items I purchased was a little toy for my daughter made out of plastic that could easily break. Luckily it didn't break. Not once did she say hello, look up, or say a word to us. I paid and started to place my debit card into my wallet and she held the receipt in front of my face, crumpled it up and threw it at my face. Before we even grabbed our bags she went back to talking to the other employees. I have never met this woman or seen this woman, so there is absolutely no reason I should have been treated in this manner. I will never again return to this store ever again. One of the employees had to have been a manager, so obviously if I complain to the local store nothing would come of the situation. I hope Dollar Tree will see how this type of business could hurt them in the long run. This type of behavior will catch up to the company if they don't fix the issue now. I've worked many years in retail and work now in customer service. People want good interaction and if they find that type of hospitality they are more likely to stick with that company since it's rare to find.

Are you going there to shop or make friends? Did you speak to them? Complaints like this make me wonder why people bother leaving their house. I go to a store, I get my stuff, I want to pay and get out. I do not need to be fawned over like I am the heir to the Hope Diamond.

Dollar Tree unethical/rude behavior

We went into store #4331 on July 3, 2016 and were standing in a rather long line. There was a man standing at another register and my husband ask if he was open. He very rudely replied "Do you see a light on?" I told him he did not have to be so rude and he told me, in front of all the customers, "well it is pretty simple". He also said if the light is on I'm open, if the light is off I am not. Yet he still stood at the register even with other customers in line. The gentleman that checked us out was very nice. I ask him who the jerk was and the jerk whirled around and said Russell but I did not get the last name. Imagine my surprise to find out he is the assistant manager. We go to this store often and have always been treated fine. If this is what your management consist of you need to consider the impact on your customers. I will not return if I see him there. He had a pony tail and a sorry attitude.

Dollar Tree manager

I am a frequent shopper at the Dollar Tree and spend a lot of money buying items for decorating every month. I also buy gift bags and things also. I went in the day after Memorial Day to purchase specific gift bags that had recently been placed out. When I was checking out I had give the clerk my money. Before she completed the sale she called the manager over stating that 3 of the bags had rung up for a penny. I requested they scan another bag for a dollar because I needed those bags. The manager never looked at me. She just rudely stated she could not sell me those bags. Then ask where I got them. Umm if she would have been nice I would not be upset but she would not address me at all and was so rude. I ask for my money back and left. I'll pay more for those items before I go back and be treated that way. I was t trying to get them for a penny. But I do no the policy and she wasn't following it.

Dollar Tree rude and unprofessional behavior of the supervisor, diane of dollar tree, #4666, 34 main ave., clifton, nj 07014

At about 8:20 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Dollar Tree store #4666, Clifton, NJ, my wife and I were shopping were acosted by the supervisor Diane, an older female and she started yelling at the my wife who has physically disabled. My wife decided not to buy a certain item and left that item on a different self. Diane apparently saw it and started raising his voice in an embarassing manner ordering my wife to bring the returned item to the front cashier. My wife got nervous and got insulted and hurt by the attitude of Diane. Of course I was also hurt and embarassed in front of the many shoppers in public. I started complaining to her and told her we are the customers and she should not treat us in an ill manner. We are both Asians from the Philippines and Ms. Diane is white and we felt singled out and discriminated. I hurriedly paid the items we bought and left. I swear not to come back shopping at that Clifton store and strongly not recommend that store.

Dollar Tree manager

I ordered a few packages to be shipped to this store a couple times now today I went in to get my package that said they were delivered 5/17/16 via email and the manager who was sitting in her office wouldn't come speak to me instead she talked behind her door where I couldn't even see her and was very rude to me instead of being professional and coming out Alicia was her name even her employee said" I'm sorry miss I don't know why she wont come speak to you herself", manager said "well not my problem you didn't read your email correctly and bring in a copy of the receipt" I had it on my phone no where in my email it says bring in a copy it says bring in the receipt and a photo id not a printed receipt... the whole time this manager never came to speak to me face to face she spoke to me from register one which is 7ft from her office I don't even know what this so called "manager" looks like that's very unprofessional she kept telling the employee what to say when I could clearly hear her saying rude things, I will be calling customer support tomorrow to find out where my package is and from here on out ill drive to a different store and be taken seriously I am an adult and deserve professionalism when I go into a business where I spend my hard working money. I'm not asking for anything out of this but for her to take customer service seriously. Ps not everyone is made for customer service and you my dear are one of them!

Dollar Tree employees

I had been into that store many times and all the cashiers and even the manager were very rude. The only reason I go there because it is the closest store to my house, and every time I go there I think it is probably only this cashier who's rude, but it keeps on happening every time and I can't take it anymore. They are very rude even to the level that they don't say thank you. They give you the feelings that you are either stealing the items or getting them for free. I can't believe how the corporation is keeping employees in their store like those. I would never go there again. I am welling now to drive even faraway to go to the 99 cent store only and no way to go to this Dollar Tree store any more ( 4240 Kearny Mesa Rd #109, San Diego, CA 92111).

Dollar Tree store manager/employees

My employment was brief this second time. The first time I was employed I stopped working due to family. I returned to work at Dollar Tree December 13, 2015 thru March 15, 2016. My manager was Cindy Hildilch and Kelly Brock was the assistant manager.
To my surprise the stores management style had changed. Employees were not showing up for work without notice, money was missing, employees were disrespectful to customers and yet no corrective action from the manager was taken. It was my observation that these same employees received more scheduled hours than those who have a higher work ethic.
During my second time of employment I saw product taken and held for employee purchase before it was put on the shelves for costumers. I saw Cindy, express herself in a unprofessional way in front of both employees and customers on several occasions. There was also favoritism, Cindy allowed her "favorite" people to work more hours than those of us who shared higher work ethic.
I know I did not give notice as I should of, and this has weighed heavy on me. However, the unprofessional and horribly ran store left me feeling I could no longer continue my employment with Dollar Tree. I enjoyed working with the previous manager and her work culture. I just wanted to bring this to light, so these issues may be addressed.
Feel Free to contact me with any questions [protected]

Sincerely,
Lydia Gonzales

Dollar Tree store visual

I have been coming to this Dollar Tree Store #3979 in Port Arthur, TX for the past year and every time I have come into this location it looks like a shambles, the shelves are practically empty, boxes of product sit on the floor of the aisle to be stocked on the shelves, it looks horrible everyday - products have been opened and the trash from that product is just lying on the floor - the employees don't seem to care that their store looks like this, I have asked them for some items and I get the same answer all the time, we need to restock the shelves and we don't have time to do this - well then I suggest that you either re arrange people schedules to accommodate the re stocking of the shelves or have more than 2 -3 employees working for that day that way the restocking can get done. Someone really needs to come into this store and get it in order - like corporate / regional manager.

Dollar Tree 600 north greenbush store

I was at your east greenbush store near wal marts on the first of april
Was not very happy about how donna had treated and older lady... The lady had told her ebt and she talked down to this lady. I turned around so I would not be rude to this lady and making her feel like a heel. When the other reg. Opened up she addressed me as your next but not in a very nice voice. I made it known to the other cashier this is not how one should treat customers. We are the biggest part of their pay check. I think you might want to give this lady on how to treat customers. Not happy in any way shape or form.

Dollar Tree unethical behavior

This happened on sat afternoon march 26th. There was two cashiers and the store manager. Both cashiers had a line of customers when the phone started ringing. It kept ringing, like no one could answer it. The store manager yelled across the store telling the cashiers to answer the phone. Both was busy with customers. When the manager walked by she was mad cause nether one answered the phone. Then one cashier told her that they didn't have the phone. She said there was one on the other two registers. The cashier and customer looked at each other, really? So, the cashiers supposed to stop ringing and walk away to answer the phone? Really? Customers should come first. That's what I thought it should be in retail.

This has been happening for awhile. The store manager and one of the assistant manager almost always has an attitude. They act like they don't want to help out the cashiers in any way. When the cashier asks for something they get an attitude about it and it takes them awhile to see what they need. Example: backup, change, customer's help.

I just want to work and shop in the store without the attitude and without being afraid to ask for help.

Dollar Tree poor customer service from leadership

on 3/22/16 at 11:32 am I went into store # 4822 located 5926 e 10th street Indianapolis, in [protected]

Attempting to purchase items, candy, and wrapping paper for Easter baskets there were around 8-10 employees working the floors and conversing amongst each other. After proceeding to check out their was 1 register open with a elderly lady working the counter and about 6 customers in line. After about 4 minutes I saw a lady (manger) close by looking to be doing little to nothing and eyeing the line so I asked if another register would be opened seeing the store was fully staffed, I will add there was a lot of mercindise on the floor to be stocked however what good is the merchandise if it’s going to be put back down once customers notice the very long lines ...So after being ignored I was checked out with a total of $8.49 . No more than an hour later I came back to same store for wrapping paper that I forgot to get on my first visit and I noticed the manager lady which I found out name is (Stephanie) and I asked if she would point me in the direction of the wrapping paper and she did without bothering to assist me or looking up from what she was doing . After searching the isle she pointed me to I did not see what I was looking for so I asked Stephanie if she would show me exactly where this item was . Her response’ was ma'am you have to look for it if you don't see it we don't have it.” I asked her if this meant she refused to help assist me she said No! “I’m just telling you if you don't see it we don't have it .” Being a woman that was worked in customer service for over 15 years this kind of behavior puzzled me especially seeing this woman was the store’s manager so to reframe from making a scene I asked for her name and and cooperate number she gave it to me while walking in the other direction

after speaking to several rep with the dollar tree corps office for over an hour I was told by the woman answering the phone the only way to summit a complaint was by leaving a message I did! with 2 individuals only 1 called me back about an hour later to advise I can go online and summit a complaint and that the receptionist didn't know this small detail because she only transfer calls. However it is now 3/1/16 I have not got any call backs or email in response to my complaint

sincerely, a former dollar tree shopper

Dollar Tree rudeness / lying/unethical behavior.,

My wife and I went to Store # 5994 at 872 Longwood, Florida at 7:30 0n 3/28/16. We bought 2 cards which came out to $1.07 in Cash. She piid with a $10 bill and 7 cents. She started talking to the clerk who was also a Redhead. In the process no change was given. We then went over to the Supermarket and discovered that she had not been given $9 in Change. We then proceeded to go bactkto the Dollar Tree and explained the situation. All we asked was that the manager ring up a subtotal and see if she was in the vicinity of $9.00 over. her Reply to my wife was that she weighed the money and there was no overage. We have both worked in retail and never have I heard that you can tell if a drawer is over or under by weighing it. She absolutely refused to honor our request. We were even amenable to her counting at the end of the night and calling us back. This too she refused to do. My wife asked the name of the day manager so she could talk to him. When she called in the morning, the manager over Tiffany ( the night manager ) said he had reviewed the tape and stated that he saw my wife hand the clerk a $1.00 bill.( p.S.- Walt was the Day Manager's name ), THis is a crock. First of all, a $1.00 bill and a $10.00 bill weigh the same. Second, how could a survalence camera mounted some distance away clearly see the denomination. This all could have been settled amicably if the manager -Tiffany - just checked the drawer. Instead she was obstinate, rude, and disrespectful.Feel free to call us at [protected].

I do agree they should have recounted the drawer to even see if in fact it was over but I managed Dollartree for 4 years and they always used this money machine to count the drawers at the end of the night and it makes no difference if all the money weighs the same or not but I am willing to bet u she might have put $10 bill but instead of it being under $10 she didn't reset it and maybe she was counting it as $5 or $20 and this then makes your whole total off.But they could have ran a simple report would have taken not even a minute and problem would have been solved. So maybe she could have explained better what weighing the money was and heck of all else fails do it old school and count the dang drawer by hand, believe me that's too hard for most ppl that work there.Exactly why I quit my assistant manager position. They work u to death, u hardly ever get a lunch but yet they say don't work on lunch or on your clocked out breaks haha what a joke that never happened. And u know what Dollartree was in a Class A lawsuit because of just that. Not all Dollartrees are the same but most of the managers don't do crap and that's y the shelves aren't stocked and there is crap everywhere because they take no pride in their work. And that I can say was the complete opposite of me in my case I got tired of the only person that cared. And other managers put all their work off on me.Thinking because they knew I would do it they figured screw her she will do it.Well screw them I gave them a 2 week notice and quit.Btw went to the store last week and it looked horrible reshops everywhere, empty shelves, rude management.Gotta wonder who really runs the show over there. But guess what I could care less they are on their own.Good luck to all u future shoppers at Dollartree.

Dollar Tree the store manager

The store manager betty wilson,

i have been a customer there since it has opened. I have been in the store when the manager is there and when she is not. She is rude and does not have customer service skills. She treats the employees there like they are not human. I have seen her make them cry, yell at them and threaten them while customers are in store. I will not shop there again . I have had several other people in the community say the same thing. If there is nothing done about this woman i will call the better business bureau and complain, ...You can not have people like that representing your company. I will also call whomever i need to until i see action.

Sean night manager opens up a juice and said he will pay it later on when the stores opens up. i see people eating and drinking like they paid for it. i thought is store policy not to touch nothing from the store but workers don't care they do what ever they want because Sean night manager don't say anything he sends people to the store for him while he don't supposed to let no one outside store policy oh no. Sean manager don't show on february 21 so i waited 2 hours for him to showed up and open the stores, he never show and Gordon other manager called me and asked me if i was by the store and i said yes but i left because no one showed up to open the store, then i called back the store told him if i still get paid for waiting but he sounded real pissed off because Sean manager never showed up...well, the problem i have with a problem child i think she needs help or something because her behavior and no one does anything to fired her or something it happen before with manager and co-workers we need to stop all this b.s i called this she's being a bully and that needs to stop, workers that don't work, wondering the store and manager Sean don't say anything why cuz he don't do any work either...So i get suspended for what, Sean told Erika other manager from day shift that he spoked to me, he never spoked to me about anything, so i called Erika to see when do i work again, she said that Sean said i'm suspended till further notice, i'm tired with this bully stuff and B.S. I think i need to get another job because Sean and Diamond trying their best to get me fired... Dollar Tree poor professionalism from dm's and managers

I work for dollar tree for 4yrs already. Let me tell you, when/where I applied was the best yr there and fun and exciting. They decided to transfer me to a store with a store manager I didn't want to and now I'm miserable. The only reason why I've put up all these yrs is cause I have a daughter and bills to pay. I find myself stuck cause the dm and store manager r friends (but onlu when they are face to face) n tell each other any and everything ppl say to them. My manager let me tell you is lazy and is always in the office on his phone on facebook. Not only is he lazy but also a profesional manipulator. I do so much for this store and company that I get thanked by being yelled at and being belittled by the dm. I honestly feel I'm losing my job over nothing. I was thought and would do company policy and procedures where I first started but here these ppl want to do what and how to do things and say it's company rules. But when asked why by the bigger ppl that come do walk through they just name it on us assistants. When I do to their liking, my manager takes the credit. To top things off, I requested my vacation after the opening of our new store, after all major holidays passed, after walk through were said and done, it got posted but on the day b4 my manager called and said I couldn't take it at that time cause they needed me to go to another store and clean it up for 3wks. OK. Well after that, without being thanked for that either, tell me why my manager said he was gonna take his vacation. After him 2 other assistants got to take theirs also. I will finish this by saying, where we opened a new store to top it off, the customers are so racists and they have no shame to keep it to themselves or stay quiet about it

Dollar Tree register clerk

As a former manager of Dollar Tree on McHenry Illinois I was trained to treat my customers with the upmost respect. However Dollar Tree in El Monte California on Valley and Garvey show no such skill whatsoever. I was standing outside with my small little Chiwawa and I had to run inside to let my wife know that we needed something. On the way out and not the best of terms the clerk had told me not to bring my dog in again. It was very blunt and very rude. I've been asked to speak with the clerks manager and after about the third time of asking my wife and I were on our way out the manager finally came up front when we left. The manager's name crystal show no regard and my complaint seemed to have no validity in these regards. I got the impression that since I was only spending a dollar per item my money didn't matter there. The English register clerk then said that she had told us not to bring the dog in again in English and she didn't know any other way to convey that to us. Understand as we left without coming to any compromise to our complaint we were called meth heads because we are white and we are out on a Sunday shopping not in our best. This was all comments from the register clerk. As a former employee and now a former customer you have lost one. Thank you for making my complaint available

Charles and Cynthia

Dollar Tree store condition-management

Store # [protected] Philadelphia RD in Baltimore County Maryland- My Trace # 182129/[protected]
This is not the first Dollar Tree I've shopped at but it is by far the worst. In short - it is a disaster! Not one aisle ( NOT ONE AISLE) is straight...everywhere that there can be products thrown all over it is right there. The cards, the stationery, candy, hardware, soaps, household - you name it . It is as if an explosion has taken place. It looks like a flash mob came in ( just like locusts ) and cleared out some aisle.
I must point out that I'm an avid Dollar Tree and Family Dollar shopper and I've been in this particular store once before and it was the same as it was yesterday. I chose to go in because it is near a GIANT food store and a tropical fish store that I had to visit.
By using my tracking number I'm sure you can locate my "record" for shopping at Dollar Tree. In the Baltimore Area I shop at at least five other Dollar Trees and I have a summer home in Millsboro De. and I shop at at least four stores there...none ( repeat NONE) compare to the total mismanagement / chaotic mess in store 2219. I'm a retired teacher and I know organization and leadership but you do not have it in store 2219. ...and you know the irony of it? A Dollar General is right next store...its like night and day...Sad. Either you should close it permanently, or close it, get a new manager and a team that DOES WORK- straighten it out - get some regional support ( not just lip service ) and try again. I can't imagine how you even gage your shrinkage- if at all.
I encourage someone from upper management to go there unannounced and see if what I'm saying is true or false.
I thoroughly enjoy your stores-I'm an aficionado of the Dollar Tree...I know what to look for and I know how to compare many of your products with Wal-Mart-K-Mart and Target ( to name a few )...I often point out items at my home to my friends and family ( as they compliment me on such and such an item) and then I shock them with-"Guess what?-I got it at Dollar Tree".
Hope this helps.
Respectfully,
R.Moskal -Baltimore MD.
