Dollar General parking lot

My name is Connie Naslund. My file number with your Insurance Co. is 15-[protected].. Your Insurance agent's name is Pruett... I have been waiting for almost 2 months now on a claim I submitted on 10-24-15 at the Grand Opening of your new store in Burney, Ca..96013 I was parked in front of the new landscaping that was designated to divide the parking lot from Safeway parking lot, which is on the other side of the new Dollar General.. I pulled up to the 4x4 that was used as a divider and got my front bumper hooked up on a rebar sticking out of this 4x4, which when I backed up tore the whole front clip off. I reported this to the Manager and he looked at the damage and took pictures, which I was contacted from Hangover Insurance to incidence. Mrs. Pruett says it takes time to file, she insinuates that I am a bad driver and should know that rebar was sticking up out of the ground and I should have seen it, and that she was waiting for Dollar General response . she told me I could take my car to our own Insurance Co to fix. She told me if any amount of money, if any would not be full compensation, as body shop quoted me a price of $1, 600.. I have spoken with Mrs. Pruitt 4 times, she just keeps telling me will get it touch with me when she can... I find this disturbing as I am a solid driver, , , good driving record, no tickets, . I know when to stop a car, I know when to slow down, I know the laws of the road better than most, . I would like to know why Dollar General won't help me get my car fixed, as it was your contractors that divided the parking lot from Safeway and left a rebar sticking up, and is a hazard.. No one seems to care... someone should. ! Sincerely Connie Naslund E-Mail.. [protected]@yahoo.com

Dollar General service

I was behind a lady with $484.39 of stuff in her basket. She continued to write a check. The employee asked for ID and the lady said she did not have an ID. She was then told she could pay with a debit card. Lady said s he has no debit card for that account. The employee said she could not clear it without an ID. Then I heard her say it was denied. so do not know if she tried or not. Lady started yelling at her that she has 5000 in the bank and that should clear. The employee said ok and let her go...hmmmm I do not understand how that could be the correct choice...the lady clearly was trying to pass a bad check or someone else's check. The employee (girl glasses about 315 on register 2 today ) If she worked for me I would FIRE her. Boat Club DG 76179

Dollar General service

Hello, I went to the dollar general store #10721 this morning and was very unhappy with the service. The clerk (not sure if this is the manager or not but he is very rude to customers. I have been there a few times and he always is the same way. My experience today was the last time I will go there and this upsets me as I like the store and location. I had just a few things to get and he was walking around the store chatting on his phone. There is a duck on the counter to call for help and when I did still took him 5 minutes to get to the register. When he says are you ready I said yes I have been waiting and he says well you just came in. That should not matter if a person is there 2 minutes or a hour when you are ready that means you are done. He then was still on the phone and did not seem to care I was waiting on being cashed out. He always has a very bad and rude attitude. I would think if he is the manager or a clerk someone would see that he is losing customers. I will not go there again and I usually go a few times a week. I sure hope someone looks into this and lets him or whoever is in charge no this is not good for business. I would like a responds to this from some one. I thank you for your time.

Dollar General feather in a can

I was staying at my sister's house in Pennsylvania to help her because she had just had neck surgery. I was doing the shopping, so one day I was in Dollar General and picked up two cans of sauerkraut for supper. I cooked the sauerkraut in the microwave as I usually did. My brother-in-law took a second helping. He saw something black sticking out from the sauerkraut and as he picked it out we could see that it was a 4" long feather. We were all shocked! No need to say none of us could finish eating. I am sure I will never eat sauerkraut again!

Dollar General unethical behavior

The dollar general store on yosemite ave in modesto is truly getting out of hand and completely out of line! I happen to love dollar general and the prices but after two completely unrelated altercations with the staff there, I am really considering going to the media. There has been many times where I was followed in the aisles because maybe they thought I was stealing or something, but I brushed it off because the location is populated with a lot of homeless and drug addict people. I completely understand that they have to keep an eye out for theft because of the neighborhood. But I refuse to be treated as such time and time again. I am a woman in her 30's, well kept and clean. I do not do drugs, and surely do not look like I am a homeless person either so the fact that a certain manager there feels the need to treat me like one, is completely out of line and uncalled for. A few months back I was shopping around looking for hair dye when I was approached by a worker and was asked to please leave the store because he was told by his manager that she believed I was shoplifting. Now, mind you I had a hair dye box in a dollar general bag with a receipt in my purse from earlier that day. (My plan was to exchange the colors but the lady at the register told me to find the other one first then bring them up together) so when I asked the guy if he was talking about the hair dye which I had a receipt for he replied saying that he couldn't tell me what they thought I stole. So I asked him to take a look in my purse so that way he knew there wasn't anything stolen. He said "no I don"t want to look in your purse you need to just leave because my manger said you stole something" I then asked to talk with his manager. When he walked me over to her she refused to talk to me telling him " no she just needs to leave the store. So I asked her where the security cameras were located in the store, when she pointed them out I stood right under one, and deliberately emptied my purse just so the cameras seen that I had nothing to hide, she then started literally yelling at me to leave "right fu***** now" I left very angry and stayed away from the store for the next 3 months or so. Well today after picking my kids up from school we stopped in to grab stuff for dinner, while in the aisles one of the workers followed me down two different aisles for at least 10 minutes! Making it very clear that he was following me, he then came up to me in the seasoning aisle, and asked "what exactly are you looking for" I said "i don't know yet I haven't made my mind up that is why im looking" he then said something smart and as I walked away he mumbled something about me to a customer. I then told my kids to grab a soda and to start walking to the checkout because we were leaving right now. My husband and the guy started arguing in the store so I told my husban to go outside. I then notice the worker start taking off his jacket and and told my husband "let's go outside and handle this" him and my husband go outside while the manager followed them. Me and my kids stayed in the store waiting in line. The manager (The same young womnan as last time her name is dominique) came back in and said you need to handle your husband I said I am not involved with whatever is going on outside and maybe she should "handle her employees trying to literally fight customers in their parking lot" she said that "my employees are grown adults"... As if she was condoning her employee to beat someone up outside! My 12 year old asked her "can you just get a manager to help my dad out there" (She didn't know dominique was the manger) and dominiques told her " im the manger and you all need to leave out of my store" I asked her what the reason was and she said she didn't need one because she's the manager and to get out right now. She literally grabbed my cart from my other daughter's hands and pushed it out of our way... I refuse to be treated like this by a so called customer service worker! She is rude, disrespectful and very immature. We were not in a street fight were in a a place of business which should be treated as such! Dominique in my opinion is allowing that store to be run like a gang neighborhood store allowing those people to bully anyone in there! I know for a fact that many people have had issues in that same store for no reason whatsoever! If this doesn't get addressed I am taking higher action! Her snatching the cart away from my daughter can very well be considered assault!

Dollar General accused of stealing/bad behavior/language

Hi I actually have 2 complaints from 2 different stores Dollar General In Daingerfield Texas 75638. I was accused of stealing. That was so embarrassing the manager just assumed I was stealing because I kept going around the same aisle. Why? because there is ridiculous unorganized there you literally have to jump over boxes or move things round to get somewhere. I was looking for the travel size products I was going out of town that weekend. She just assumed I told her she could check my purse, she said no. She said if you are taking things out of my store you better put them back I said I don't have the need to take anything that is not mine, I asked her to show me the video she denied to. So, I decided to walk away and get my sister and daughter they were in the birthday aisle we left with we didn't make any purchased that was about a month ago but I didn't know I could make a complain. I have not been back to that particular store again. and also I have heard at least from 2 other people that, that has happened to them too. 2nd time it was at the Dollar General store in Naples Texas 75568, October 29th, 2015. I noticed that the employees were yelling at each other from one corner to the other. saying things like "yeah, she came in her see your ###", the other person would reply "yeah, she just wanted to get some". When we were about to pay my husband, 6 year old daughter and I. We waited for a good 5 minutes for someone to come to the register that didn't bother me what bother was I believe this young man came to the register to check us well as he was checking our items this other lady I believe she is the manager at this particular store said "So, did she just came in to shake her ### at you show it off to you" so not appropriate in front of my child. The young man was very polite he said to her "hey we have costumers" she turned around and looked at us up and down and with a smart remark said "oh yeah, I see them" and also said to him once again "yeah she was just trying to get you in her bjj (I don't even know how to say it) and she just bust out laughing. The young man didn't say anything else to her but we could tell he was really embarrassed. He thank us and said sorry to us, we walked out of the building with my child asking what a bjj was, of course I had no idea how to explain this to her. I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble because I know everyone needs their job, but it would be great if this people get enough training, in costumer service, how to act around costumers and train them to have an organize store, and not just assume that someone is stealing. Thank you

Dollar General store cleanliness

This store is filthy from the front entrance to the back of the store . The restrooms are unbelievable! The floors in this store I believe haven't been swept or mopped since they open the store. You can't even get the buggy down the aisle because of so much mess in the aisle. The debit card reader never works when I swipe my card the hold system goes down over and over again .

Dollar General unethical behavior

Dollar General – Hawley, Texas In June 2015, a male employee in about his late 20’s early 30’s and very clean cut became very irate at a customer for not putting items back on the shelf exactly as they were when the customer removed them. The irate employee presented himself as “being in charge” and ranted on about how he will remove the customer from the store unless she adjusted the items that she put back on the shelf exactly as they were when she removed them. She nicely explained that she really could not remember and before she could finish explaining herself, he grabbed the item from her hand and placed it back on the shelf himself and told her to get out of [his] store. Embarrassed, she placed her items on the counter and left the store apologizing to the customers as she passed them.

Dollar General cashier

At approximately 1:30 pm on October 28th 2015 I had entered a Dollar General in Carbondale, IL the Ramada Ln location. I was there to run an errand for a client. When I run an errand and the client does not come with me, my employer requires that I provide the client with a receipt and a duplicate (or some other proof of purchase) to be turned in with the rest of my paperwork. This is to cover our butts in case the client complains that money or items are missing. When I requested a duplicate copy of the precept, the cashier got an attitude with me and told me that they don't provide duplicates, never have and never will. She also told me that if I wanted a copy I needed to go to Mail Boxes etc to make a copy. When I tried to tell her I needed a copy for my job, she interrupted and said that they only print single copies of receipts. I have been in some stores (like Walgreens) where the cashier is unable to print a duplicate receipt due to the way the system is set up. However, they were able to print off a proof of purchase sheet for me that had the item or items that I bought, how much it was, the amount I paid and the change I got back. It has never been a big deal, especially when I tell them that I require a duplicate for my job. This cashiers attitude was rude and unnecessary. There is zero reason why she couldn't print me off a duplicate copy (I worked as a cashier for a time and know that there is a re-print or copy button on the machine). I also do not believe that they do not give copies when my company has gotten duplicates from them before.

I don't know how other got duplicate receipts at walgreens but if they did they must have gone through more steps. I know from experience that none of my local Walgreens' can print out a duplicate receipt. If you want another you have to talk to a manager and he'll go to the offce, ask for your shopping info, etc... Couldn't you have just made a copy at work or home? It's not the cashiers job to give out multiple copies of receipts.

Well I work for Dollar General and there is no option to reprint a receipt. Every retail store is different. I can see that you think you know everything. I am pretty sure you shopped in dollar general before then to know that dollar general does not have that option. The typical customer always want to complain.

Dollar General false advertisement for $2 bath towels

I received my weekly flyer in the mail advertising Dollar General had $2 Bath Towels. I received the flyer on Wednesday and been looking forward to Sunday to purchase this item. When arriving at the store to purchase, the cashier did not know about the item, she looked at the flyer and then proceeded to find the Bath Towels. She did not see them on the shelf, so she looked in the back. She said the store must not have received them. I tried a different store and the same thing, I called another Dollar General in the area, also the same thing. The towels were not delivered to any of the stores in my area, yet they are advertising them. I asked for a rain check on the items and the manager at one of the stores said Dollar General does not do rain checks. I am very disappointed because I was looking forward to making this purchase.

Dollar General public humiliation by assistant manager

I have lived in the town of Mancelona, MI. since 1989 Recently Cliff/The Company hired a new Assistant Manager. Congratulations-this one has a PHD in Assholi-ology, He likes to disappear when the front is full of customers, LEAVE and have lunch with his family when the line is FULL of customers, Publicly reprimand the employees, paying NO attention to the surroundings (Customers) even though admitting HIS OWN PART mostly lays blame on the Cashiers. Will walk to the front see the line with multiple customers in it, ONLY to HOLLER for the cashier and walk away. A new Family Dollar/Dollar Tree is being built in this town, and YOU HIRED someone who treats the employees like this? Cliff is on vacation, maybe that's why he feels he can get away with his B*!S#*!, and I will speak to him about this when he returns. But YOU NEED to look into this, he's let his position go to his head or something. Cliff NEVER speaks to his employees that way NO MATTER HOW UPSET HE'S GOTTEN, and I shop at Store #6737 about 4 to 7 times a week. Absolutely if this is not fixed me among others whom have seen this happen will be looking forward to the NEW STORE in town. I certainly hope this will be FIXED SOON. Thank You

Dollar General 4-Ounce Fruit Cups

Food Label Trickeration! Here's an FYI I wanted to pass along to everyone about looking closely at the food labels. Hopefully you guys won't get duped like I did. So I wanted to try some of these little fruit cup snacks that would make for a quick easy breakfast item. Saw 'em on the shelf and the first thing I thought of was SUGAR. Figured they'd be loaded and prolly'll change my mind. So I check the food label and it's only 8 grams per 4-ounce plastic container which doesn't seem too bad. I go ahead and buy a few Clover Valley packs of four 4-ounce cups at the local dollah stoh. Later on at home I notice the food label says DRAINED on it and the serving size is 65 grams. But the front of the packaging says 4 - 4 OZ (113g) CUPS. What the heck is going on here? There's actually 113 grams of mass physically in each plastic cup, but the nutrition label says DRAINED and shows the serving size as only 65 grams. Evidently, they expect you to drain out the liquid before eating the stuff. Baloney! Who actually even does that? This is a cheap way for them to avoid telling you the real nutrients and the true amount of sugar in each serving. There's no way to really tell what the nutrition is based on the 113 grams actually in each cup. So there you have it. Fooled me once and never again. Only wanted to share this with the group as a PSA and hope no one else gets fooled. My lesson learned? After you think you understand what you're getting, read the label again. I will be shopping with a dang MAGNIFYING GLASS from now on!

Dollar General employment

Worse place in the world to work. I was assaulted by a customer and they did nothing. I quit my job because I am disabled and didn't feel like this was the right job for me given the circumstances. I now have to do the police investigation myself. They are hem hawing about terminating my employment so I can get my 401K to live on until my disability kicks in (in over a month). Now they informed me that they don't have to pay my vacation time that I accrued while I was there. This is a million dollar company that won't provide enough security to employees even though they know the area is crime infested. Then they screw people after the fact. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Thank goodness for attorneys and social media.
