Dollar General store in general

I live close by so the store is convient for Me. I've been there 3 or more times to try to buy Sugar and they been out of stock for at least 3 weeks now. If U would go there today and just look at the store U would see what I'm telling U about the Shelves r Empty. I went yesterday again and they still don't have any Sugar, No Family Dollar Paper Towels, Very few of any paper towels that is... The only thing that as stocked this week was the cooler, they had that pretty much stocked... The washing Powder Isle was pretty much Empty. I bought the last 2 bottles of Era they had. No Dollar store Bleach at all. The store looks like a Hurricane went through it for sure. And this is a pretty busy store, so why cant ya'll keep this store stocked at all times. The workers are Lazy, they only do what they have to do ... I'm sorry to complain but Ya'll are missing out on a lot of Money not having this store stocked.

I use the store in Chapman Ks. For the most part it is a good store. It is more often than not that I have to go looking for someone to check out. PUT A BELL AT THE STATION! Furthermore it seems that they double check some items. Why? Once is a mistake several times is a problem. When they bag your goods they don't ensure that you have all your bags, .Once again this is a problem.

Dollar General false accusations wrongful termination

Was told I was kicked out of another location and not welcome at this one I have never been kicked out of anywhere told her she was mistaken and have seen her 50 times before today I also used to work here and wrongfully fired and promised my job back . I called the corporate office and they told me the acting district manager would contact me which was the one that terminated me over false accusations. I was promised my job back by the district manager never happened. I tried to call direct and take care of it with the store and the lady told me just don't go to that store. Not handled im contacting an attorney about defamation of character.

Dollar General unfair employment

Dollar General Store #8988 has been without a manager for at least a few months, including through Thanksgiving and Christmas (and for sure through New Years). This lack of leadership is negatively impacting the store's appearance and employee attitudes. There are warm bodies present but there is so much merchandise in the aisles it is hazardous. However, the most confusing aspect is that the assistant manager has a FULL TIME JOB at the school. Why is she allowed to have TWO FULL TIME JOBS in this small town when there are qualified folks who have no job or need a career change but cannot apply as the position is filled with a person who ALREADY HAS A FULL TIME JOB? If Jen Gray is going to be the DG assistant manager, then she should quit her FULL TIME JOB at the school and give another soul a chance at making a living. Jen Gray's selfishness is apparent by getting paid from TWO FULL TIME JOBS. Dollar General needs to re-evaluate Jen Gray's assistant manager position and she either chooses DG for full time employment or the school for full time employment, not both. I truly hope this concern with be reviewed and not just pushed under the rug. Thank you for your time.

Dollar General treatment by employees of dollar general

I was shopping in this store on December 24th, 2014 at approximately 1:15p.m. and upon checking out I made my purtchase and proceeded to go outside and the male clerk followed me outside and told me that since I did not speak to him that he prefer that I not come back in HIS store and that I had to speak to him. I am a very loyal customer of dollar general and I have been shopping with you for many years. But after this type of disrespect from one of your employees I have to say that I will not shop with your company again. I thought that the employees had to treat customers with respect but it appears that this is not so, I can be contacted at [protected] . I would like to speak to some one from your corporate office.

Dollar General unprofessional management

To whom it may concern:
I am writing this to alert you to the unprofessional behavior that I was subjected to as an associate of your store #2260, Located in Ravenna, OH. This is the way I have chosen to contact you, as to have a paper record of the information I am giving you, and felt a phone call to the ERC was not going to receive an adequate response.
Just a little background first. I have been employed at that store since mid-September, so this has not been a long career with Dollar General. It has not taken me long to gain this list of inappropriate behavior by management.
-I have NEVER been written up for attendance in my almost 25 years of employment.
+I am not going to start at this point in my life, with a manager who changes the schedule ONE day ahead of the work day, with ABSOLUTELY no notice.
+When a fellow associate called off work for several days, the store manager, Tina, was in the store later that day rewriting the schedule. When I notified the store manager on 11/3/14 at 6:03pm, that I would not be able to be at work on 11/7/14, I received no response until Wednesday, 11/5/14 when I arrived at work, and I stated once again that I COULD NOT be there.
+Tina (store manager) seems to write her own schedule, leaving early, as well as habitually arriving late. Tina even gave a resident who lives next to the store her cell phone number, to help Tina not leave the store closed for 2 hours out of the business day (which I've witnessed myself), or leave a vendor rep (Coke) sitting outside the store for hours, instead of delivering product.
-Tina is "not by the book", unless it suits her own needs.
+On 11/8/14, I was told to take a half-hour mealbreak around 1:00 when I was scheduled to leave at 2:00, and thought it best to work straight through, as I was getting work accomplished. Her reply was, "The store is only budgeted so many hours each week."
+On 11/13/14 Tina was late as usual, and requested I drop off the deposit, as I was already late leaving at the end of my shift. I informed her that the bank was in the opposite direction of my home. She then stated, "Call me after you've dropped the deposit, and I'll clock you out."
-What happened to, "The store is only budgeted so many hours each week"? Also, clocking another associate out IS a violation of company policy.
+Tina and Loss Prevention: When Tina notices anything having to do with theft, you can be assured that absolutely nothing else will be accomplished by her in the store.
+I would assume that she's not intentionally trying to get Dollar General sued, but asking a young black customer to "lift his shirt" to make sure he's not hiding anything (which she has done), is going to open the door to litigation.
-On 11/15/14 I arrived early for my 2:00pm shift. Tina said, "I need to talk to you before you punch in." She told me, "Ed (District manager) told me I have to write you up for your no-call, no-show." I assumed a 4 day notice was adequate for the family emergency.
+On 11/15/14 Tina also informed me that I "was late for my shift" and she already "found someone else to fill it". I was not late for my 2:00 shift, I was early. Apparently she had changed it to 1:00 without notifying me. Walking past it on the way out, there was nothing on the communication board stating "schedule change". I have a photo of the schedule in my phone which I look at daily. Without her posting that the schedule was changed, or mentioning it to me via text, email, verbally, or any other way, how would I know that the published schedule had been changed?
-I left a voicemail with Ed Tishel (district manager) at [protected] on 11/15/2014 at 2:15pm to discuss the issue with him, but have not heard from him as of yet.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I also have photographed records of many of the items mentioned above. In the case that this message has been misdirected, please forward to the appropriate party.
Thank you,

Dollar General deprivation of character and accusation of theft

Went to store at check out line found some papers in the snickers candy bar box.I asked the check out girl if she knew the man that was in front of me. She said no. So I hurried ouside to catch him to find out his name. I said hey what's your name he told me. I said well I am not looking for u. He said who you looking for. I told him the names on the stuff. He said he went to church with them and started calling people to get their number. While he was on the phone one of the key holders by the name of Stevie came outside and started to question me. Stevie asked me if there was a wallet with the papers. I said no. She continued to ask me two more times. I told her I had already told her no. I asked her what was her deal with wallets. She said her wallet was recently stolden from her with 750 dollars in it . Isaid that sucks. At that point iI left I wanted nothing more to do with it. The next I told an employee named Robbie bout what happened. He said to come back next morning talk to store manager jimmy so Idid. The mmanager jimmy looked at his watch three different times like he was to busy to deal with me. He did say he had talked to her and it was wouldn't happen again. Then I went to leave and Stevie stops me and informs me she told my brother and his wife all about what happened. I said r u kidding me what business is it of theirs. I vowed at that moment I would never stepfoot in that store again and iI made sure I was not very quiet about it. That is a promise.

Dollar General not proper conduct

So after my complaint about an employee telling my fiance to tell me hi from her. I had to get something from the store. Walk in and an employee kept walking by and looking at me while I eas looking for what I needed. When I entered the store the employee was throwing and slamming things that were in boxes. She walks up ask my name. Asked is there was a problem and so on. I said no i'm shopping and don't want to talk which she kept on about if I needed anything to tell her. Well I didn't say anything when I walked in. So I don't understand why after shopping at this store for over a year now the manager comes up and asking me questions. Which I didn't recognize her with her dark hair. And no nametag or anything saying she worked there. I have a life. I complain but do not comment on others complaints. I have worked for over 30 years and never was disrespectful to anyone.

Dollar General no way to name an employee

I have complained before about the employees at this store. And now my fiance tells me that yesterday around 5pm a female employee with dark hair about 200 pounds or maybe less and no name tag told my fiance to tell your girl friend I said Hi. I have no idea who this person is. My fiance had just gotten off a very busy day at his job and this person he said was an older woman with long dark hair tells me hi. When your office talks to them about a complaint the employees know who it is complaining when details are given. And for a person to give that message to a customer they don't even know is rather strange. I know it's hard to find good workers. I'm disable but would work if I could . I did for almost 30 years. Your employees should wear nametags. Othervustomers complain from what the employees said waiting on other customers. No one wants to hear that non sense. The cashier should have been talking to the older woman she was waiting on not the girl that works there but is standing at the counter acting like they are on a break . My fiance will find out who this person is by name. Just very strange .

Ok. Let me say this. I don't know these employees personally nor does my fiance. A person talked him as though she knows me. I meant for that complaint to go to the office and you obviously aren't with the corporate office. So therefore you are just commenting because there's nothing better to do. So thanks.

Dollar General dg digital coupons

The company advertisement for the week of sept 29th to oct 4th. Stated Scotts paper towel $5.00 with a 1.50 dg digital coupon. I it was not available oct 1 and when I went to the store today Oct 4th, the last day of the sale and now the coupon is there. It does not register. Another word it's on my account to use but when I put my phone number in it did not take the coupon off and that was not the only coupon. The employees informed me after the purchase that they have been having trouble all day. This is False advertisement. I did not receive my coupon on, Flipz $1.00 and Angle soft $1.00 and Scott paper towel $1.50 and Gillette $1.00. And no help from the employee. And the coke was advertised for 3 for 3.00 was none.

Dollar General apperance of store

Everytime I go in this store it is always dishelveled and unorganized. It is never well stocked and boxes of stock are always blocking aisles and merchandise and employees are usually chatting amongst themselves. I go there out of convenience as it is close to my house but am considering driving to another one. I like the DG but this store really needs some improvement!

I happen to work at a dollar General. What is happening is that Dollar General is a horrible place to work in a since that the company does not seem to care about these issues. What happens is Dollar General only allows the full time managers to work in the day, in the day it is just them stocking. The managers are always pulled to the front to remove items off the register costumers says they now do not want, refunds, and various task. This leaves little time to stock. The cashier has no time to learn anything because they are stuck behind the counter for the whole shift. After four o'clock in the evening there is only two people running the whole store despite it needs about four people at the least to properly continuing to stock and help people. This company expects this store to run off a skeleton crew and it s not right! I worked the other night at 3:00 pm to 10:15PM. I was on the register all night but what made it worse was that it was mothers day. We had twenty people in line at one register and twenty in line at another. Now mind you one register there is an assistant manager and they need to do other work besides cashier. All night it was hell! I had to listen to people , cuss me out, decide they don't want $50 worth of items. All of these cause them manager to shut down their register to take complaint and remove items out of the register so that I could ring things up again. Having no helps creates a situation where errors are inevitable. If a cashier or manager is short on their register they get wrote up. If it happens again they are forced to put their own money in the register so that they won't get fired because the company has a two strike rule! This kind of bad CEO management does not help the company and they do not seem to care about their customers or employees. Now if all this is not enough employees are suppose to pick up the mess people leave and let their children destroy. Mop the floors and keep the store clean. This is why the stores are filthy and disgusting. Nothing can ever be finished with always a small crew like we have. Then there is an unspoken or spoken sometimes rule that if we work off the clock we will appease management and have a better chance of moving up due to "eagerness" to work! Insane way to run a company right?

Dollar General Hit or Miss - Rancid Product

I have been buying the Clover Valley Sunflower Kernels for some time now. The problem is I have to buy several jars at once to make sure I have a good one. It seems like every second or third jar I buy is rancid. I have thrown several jars away thinking it's only $1.50 but after about 10 jars pitched I realized how it adds up. I have since exchanged some, I love the product when it is good but I'm mystified how the same product with the same dates on the jars can sometimes be good and sometimes be rancid. Please look into this as I love the product and want to keep enjoying it.

Dollar General wc claim issues

I work for DG and I recently got hurt at work.My manager asked if my hand was broken and when I said no, he told me to get back to work.

I contacted Risk Management because my hand was much worse the next day. They instructed me to go to the ER within two hours. I went even though my manager tried to get me not to. The hospital tried to contact him to file WC but he told them he refused to talk to them.

Luckily, the hospital went around him and managed the get the info anyway. I called HR to file a complaint against him and it turns out he never even reported my injury like he is REQUIRED to do. I am currently looking into getting a WC attorney unless by some miracle this works out.

If it doesn't, I will be filing a legal case against DG.

Apparently the manager and staff do not have any organizational skills as this store is always in a mess .. The aisles are cluttered and some are impassable and the shelves are cluttered and messy .. This store is very nasty and the floors are apparently not being swept and mopped. Some of the workers like to complain in front of the customers .. I have talked to the manger of this store and nothing has changed ..

I am thankful to have a store in our small town.
My complaint is that I can barely push the cart or even walk around in the store. This is ongoing for the last few years. There are always unpacked boxes everywhere.
Who can I contact to do a "walk through" to see if it's a storage problem, lack of help, or motivation of the workers?

Dollar General mistreatment by management

I am a former employee, I have left dollar general due to management harrassment, slandering my good name, and calling me a thief with no proof to back it up. The Manager TMS is awful, unproffessional, breaking rules, and regulations and thinks she is god. She pays people off the clock to work. The DM is no better, having a relationship with another manager and giving her special treatment. He's married and creepy. If anyone ever wants to work there please don't. I don't understand how they keep getting away with this. I have proof of notes written by the manager that is harrassment and recorded audio of conversations that she has had with other employees clearly harrassing them, bullying them. I will keep complaining to every website I can find until something is done or employees of this awful company pull together and get this stopped.

Dollar General employee theft / misuse

An employee/manager at this store also sells products in booths at a local flea market for extra income. Ironically hundreds of Dollar General merchandise is displayed and sold in these booths. Food, spices, hair coloring, toothpaste, deodorants, shampoos, aspirin, baby items, toys, flowers, pictures, plant foods, candles, home decor, you name it...everything but clothing. I find it hard to believe, but these items are purchased, re-priced, then sold for lower price than at Dollar General. IT APPEARS THIS EMPLOYEE IS EITHER ABUSING HIS POSITION OR STEALING! Dollar General Corporate office needs to be aware that this has been going on for several months/years. Washington is a small City and It certainly doesn't reflect a good image toward the Company.

My store in Hardy Virginia is so nasty I'm getting ready to call the health department. I have been looking for a shower liner and they haven't had any for 3 weeks now. The aisles are blocked by trash buggies and things that need to be stocked. I would like a part time job cleaning it up and running it more efficiently. I can send pictures if you need proof.

Dollar General Number of cherries in a can

I recently bought six cans of Clover Valley Cherry Pie Filling. While pouring the filling into the pie plate, there was much more syrup than cherries. I counted the cherries in all six cans. There were 45-49 cherries in each can. Some of the cherries were only pieces of a cherry. I had to use all six cans to make two 8-inch cherry pies. I skimmed off the excess syrup and had 8 cups of syrup. WHAT A RIP-OFF. I guess the sign on the can was correct - cherry pie "filling". 100% Happy guaranteed! - NOT !
