Dollar General - cashier

At approximately 1:30 pm on October 28th 2015 I had entered a Dollar General in Carbondale, IL the Ramada Ln location. I was there to run an errand for a client. When I run an errand and the client does not come with me, my employer requires that I provide the client with a receipt and a duplicate (or some other proof of purchase) to be turned in with the rest of my paperwork. This is to cover our butts in case the client complains that money or items are missing. When I requested a duplicate copy of the precept, the cashier got an attitude with me and told me that they don't provide duplicates, never have and never will. She also told me that if I wanted a copy I needed to go to Mail Boxes etc to make a copy. When I tried to tell her I needed a copy for my job, she interrupted and said that they only print single copies of receipts. I have been in some stores (like Walgreens) where the cashier is unable to print a duplicate receipt due to the way the system is set up. However, they were able to print off a proof of purchase sheet for me that had the item or items that I bought, how much it was, the amount I paid and the change I got back. It has never been a big deal, especially when I tell them that I require a duplicate for my job. This cashiers attitude was rude and unnecessary. There is zero reason why she couldn't print me off a duplicate copy (I worked as a cashier for a time and know that there is a re-print or copy button on the machine). I also do not believe that they do not give copies when my company has gotten duplicates from them before.

I don't know how other got duplicate receipts at walgreens but if they did they must have gone through more steps. I know from experience that none of my local Walgreens' can print out a duplicate receipt. If you want another you have to talk to a manager and he'll go to the offce, ask for your shopping info, etc... Couldn't you have just made a copy at work or home? It's not the cashiers job to give out multiple copies of receipts.

All you had to do was go make a copy yourself but instead you want to complain about nothing.

Well I work for Dollar General and there is no option to reprint a receipt. Every retail store is different. I can see that you think you know everything. I am pretty sure you shopped in dollar general before then to know that dollar general does not have that option. The typical customer always want to complain.
