I have been getting the run around from the Ca DMV for over 5 years now . About 5 years ago I found out that a girl in southern california somehow ended up with my information on her DL but her picture and when i went to my DMV here in northern california to get my address up dated i was sent a DL with her information and my picture on it so i turned it in to the DMV so from that point on I have made constant attempts to get this all straitened out for 5 + years and all i keep getting is crap i have been sent to every DMV from Sacramento, Ca all over the ( East Bay, North Bay, South Bay, etc. ) and I have been told by every person in all of the DMV offices that the case is closed that I can go a head get my DL and then I get to DMV and they send me back to the investigations telling me its open . I have also been told that I would be sent a packet that would need to be sent back with the proper information then i would receive a letter telling me when to come in with my legal documents in hand to verify who I am . I have never received anything . I had gave them an address that has remained the same up until last year and phone numbers that have also been the same up until this year. I have not been able to get any kind of ID, DL or any type of picture ID this stopping me from getting a job or getting any type of assistance to take care of my kids and myself my kids had to go stay with my mom and other family. Now can someone please tell me how it is that by law persons 18 and over are to at all times carry a Ca ID card but yet I can't even get a DMV print out let alone a Ca ID ? why or how is that even when I have all my legal documents to show who I am and still I have yet to be able to get a ID, DL or any other form of picture ID I can't even go and apply for a loan at my bank or anything hell I can't even get my last 20 dollars out of the bank because I can't get an ID my life has been turned upside down I have no home no way to help myself or my kids and like I said someone else is using my DL and how I know this is because I have been getting tickets one for driving with out a DL and had an accedent and one for speeding etc. How is it that I can't get my DL but someone is using it . I lost my car do to not being able to get a job because the job I had required me to have one and I didn't even do anything wrong to have it taken away in the first place . all I ever did was return a mistake made by aDMV employee . I have lost everything in my life that I have worked so hard for and because of this I had turned to crime and been in jail for trying to get what we all need in life to keep living, stay warm keep my kids warm, eat, take baths, etc. What do I have to do to get my life back ? what is it going to take I can't keep going through life like this I have done everything in my power to clear up any and all of my wrong doings with the law I am no longer on any probation or any thing like that I just want my life back and the only thing stopping me from becoming a productive member of the community again in life is a Ca ID PLEASE I only want to have my kids back with me along with a job so i can support us so we can be together like we use to . Thank you for your time

I thought my experiences with Virginia DMV was bad. Now you've a police record and the law don't protect you from discrimination? I'm witcha. I done went on survival mode and worked up a rap sheet. And I say it is none of your next employers business. It's a terrible age and accounts like this do not sound like much of a free country. I believe the way the government victimizes honest hard working citizens who have kids to look after, COVID, and strife in families, smut everywhere, etc it the end times I pray you have faith in God and persevere. It'll turn round.
I had the runaround for over a year and a half and much of it to do with covid-19 to get medical clearance because of mental health. I tell you what. Now I'm in the state of Virginia so it might be different than California. I went over the whole DMV heads to the Secretary of Transportation. Guess what, we done got the ball rolling but I still had a lot more horrendous hoops to jump through.

I never received renewal notice for my car. I didn't know that my registration due on September (on registration paper) but the month tag on my license plate is November. So i thought is due on November and now i have to pay $65 penalty. My registration is only $87. What a good way to rip off people that dont have money to spend on something stupid like this, good job DMV!

I have owned a vehicle since March and have never had to renew the registration. Yesterday I was walking by my car and noticed my registration had been expired since August, but I had never received a renewal in the mail. I tried to rectify it as soon as I discovered this, but was unable to make a payment online. I am concerned about late fees and other consequences that will occur due to a lack of notification of renewal.

I received a notice of delinquent renewal in the mail without even getting a standard renewal form in the mail. I never got the chance to pay even know about the renewal being due, since its for a motorcycle I just ride once or twice a year.I called DMV to complain they told me I had to go to an actual DMV to complain.

I just wish all the people complaining about the DMV would specify where they are since the DMV is not a single nation-wide entity.
