I realized when reviewing my Back account that I had been debited 39.96 USD every month since March 2009 for some Magazines from Discovery enterprise.
I called the company in November to ask what this was all about and they mentioned that I had agreed on a telemarketing contract by Phone to subscribe. I then asked if they can prove their scam by letting me hear the phone conversation and their answer was .. we will call you back... They offered back then to send me a cancellation fee of approx 120 USD and be done with this scam. I refused as I do not see why I should pay to cancel something I did not order... Now that I am on vacations I took the time to call again and ask to listen to their "evidence" and the answer was that is not possible but you can pay 280 USD and we can cancel your "contract".
This is becoming absolutely ridiculous and I am looking for legal support. I believe I can cancel my debit card but would prefer a better alternative if possible |
