We canceled direct tv service within the 24 hr period due to the fact we were told we would get local channels and were not. So we didnt want the service and called right away. It is noted on our account at direct tv that we called march 23 and 25th and had a CRG disconnect. We canceled account and it was told to us and is noted on our account that it was within the 24hr period and the commitment would not apply. So there would be no early cancel fee. Since then we got a bill for 425.77 in April. We called again and were told not to worry about this it was waived . Yet in June we recieved a collection letter about this bill. I have spent most of the morning of July 3rd talking to numerous people again telling me I have to fax and mail letter of dispute to the direct tv inc.So I did this morning but honestly dont really think anything is going to be done about it. So direct tv either didnt not put it in the system the day we called and canceled so they could screw us out of money. Or they just fraudualtly sent it to collections .I am just trying to keep my credit from being destoryed by this.
