I had DirecTv at my last rental property. I had the service from June 2007 till I put the account on hold for 6 months, in October of 2009, with a $68 credit on my account. Even tho I spent big $$$$ on the 3 boxes I had at the house, one a DVR, I was told I had to send them all back or get charged for them upon cancelation. (thought I was already charged for them?) So March I called to cancel the account (making constant reminders so I wouldnt forget, cause they didnt call)

So I was on Vacation at the time and didnt get home for a couple of weeks. Called and asked if that was ok to wait to send the boxes and it was, according to the lady I talked to. They sent me return boxes, and when I got home, there was only a return box for one box. So I called. They said now I only owed one box, the DVR. (yay, small victory) So I sent the box when I got home.

In the meantime they charged me for a month of service at a house that I dont live at anymore. They also charged me $175 for the box I "never" returned. With FedEx tracking number in tow, I called, they finially reversed the fee for the extra month, and said that eventually the charge for the box would get removed. HA.

So then, I think because I had that pesky little credit on my account, they charged me $60 for an early cancelation fee. But I have had my account for 2+years you say?, even over and above the 6 month suspension? But that loyalty does not count. Cause in June 2008 I purchased another box and paid for another room and I canceled the account in October 2009, 2 months shy of the December contract which aparently got renewed with the new box. Now they NEVER told me I had a new contract, cause I had planned my move out date accordinly not to have these charges, with any of my uitilities. So after 3 years with DirecTv, they still wouldnt help me out.

"Well it is now our policy to inform our customers of that." said the lady.
"Well what about people who you did not tell?" Says I
"Well we should have told you." says the lady.
"Huh? So you should have?" says I.
"Yes Mamn." Says she.
"but you didnt?" Says me.
"No Mamn."
"So I still have to pay the fee.
"Yes mamn."

"Best in Customer Satisfaction" my rear end! So you pay if you do and you pay if you dont. Please look elsewhere for TV service. I know that DTV has all the good chanels, but you pay dearly. THey have sooooooo many fees, it is rediculous. Better yet, buy some books! Or some movies! Or a good internet connection so you dont need those greedy ### at all!

PS: I was paying $120 a month for service. Which was not the best, if a bird flew buy or hevens to betsy it rained, NO service!

They stole $593.00 from my bank account in "2" days. Be advised that they can make these deductions on your debit card and there is nothing you can do to stop it once they start the transaction. This has messed up my home mortgage payment, my dughters health insurance payment, my car insurance payment and my electric bill payment. I will never do buisiness with them again and I will bad mouth this company indefinitely to everyone.

LOYAL Directv customers since 2002; purchased NFL package every season, Now new customers recieve this offer FREE WITH their programs, We are forced to pay $45.00 amonth for seven months to get the same, What's wrong with this picture? does not pay to be loyal

ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED OUT WE TOLD DIRECTV TO STOP TAKING MONEY THAT WE WOULD CLEAR THIS BILL UP WHEN WE RECIVED IF 3 WEEKS LATER THEY DEBET 211.29 FROM OUR ACCOUNT WE HAVE CALLED THEM ABOUT THIS MATTER AND THEY ARE BEING SOB! ABOUT THIS AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY ### TOWARD THEY TELL US THAT IS THERE POLICY WHEN A ACCOUNT IS CLOSED I WILL BAD MOUTH DIRECTV TO EVERYONE AND WILL DEFACE THERE BUSINESS PRACTIES ANY WAY I CAN

I had been a subscriber for 14 years and they charged me for early termination.
I have filed a complaint with the N.C. Atty. General's Office
I will be filing a class action law suit or a personal suit or both.

After over 10 years of service with this company, I cancelled my service.
They told me I owe them $150 for early termination.
I told them I never signed a 10 year contract and there was no early termination.
Now they have their collection goons harassing me every day.
I told the goons as well as DirecTV to stop harassing me or I will sue both of them.
I also told the goons to back off and no one will get hurt.

Directv has the worst, and i mean WORST costumer service EVER! Their people not only have NO idea what they are doing, they are useless and the only thing they say is im sorry. im sorry. Don't say your sorry, at least try to do something to help. Useless and poor service, i cant wait to get out of this contract. WORST COSTUMER SERVICE AND CABLE TV EVER!

I have notified them since last year to fix the hook up. They send a service repair guy, it works if I'am lucky a week. I call again and I go through the ring around again. I don't know they don't just change the wire, they change everything else and charge me for a service that's not working. If there were a better service out here I would change in a heart beat. I wish the problem would be fixed once and for all!

Directv just took the entire balence. Even after I asked them not too. I said that I had lost my job but I was willing to settle up my bill in payments. They didn't care and said that it wasn't their problem. So they just took the money. I almost lost the house I was renting because of them. I was with Directv for almost ten years! Customer loyalty means nothing to them.

I have been a customer since 2005. I think it is highway robbery the price you pay to watch re-runs constantly.I am disabled and stay home a lot and it is the same thing over and over from month to month.Occasionally you get a different program, but for the most it is the same old thing repeated.Most of the programs are not fit to watch or very interesting to watch.change your programs!

My home was destroyed by fire and water damage. Me and my children lost everything we owned. I had the insurance through directv and two agents told me they would cover it. They even offered to send the equipment when I called however I was homeless. Now my home is repaired and I am trying to get reimbursed. They are now telling me they will not do it, after they promised. Allstate states they do not cover anything from directv. Please help!

They dropped my favorite channel! G4! When I called and asked them why, they said they saw no value in the channel and that it just wasn't worth having. WTF?! I can't believe they would drop my favorite channel, with out that I can't stand using their service! Now I'm dropping them, I can't believe they would drop it.

tv commercials say one thing then you call and customer unservice tells you another lie. Dont advertise channels you dont get with programming packages just to get people to order customer unservice will say things like im not sure ill email you thje answer just to get you off the phone if your thinking about dish network might be abetter choice i dont know but directv SUCKS and im stuckwith them for two years or pay a cancelation fee thats bs

I ordered from Directv the RV kit that does not work when I call for help they tell me that it was a self install that there is nothing they can do I try and cancel and they put me on hold until I get tired of waiting and hang up.
Sure they gave me a good deal with NFL Ticket but if I can't watch it what good is it.

Many people have been charged large fee's by DirecTV for early cancellation. Unfortunately, many of these customers were baited in to these contracts without knowing. They would do this through many practices, including renewing the agreement when new equipment was sent out. If this has happened to you, we would love to help.

Directv sales agents make promises and lie to get customers to subscribe.

When your bill comes the promises of credits that were made are not on the bill and then when you contact Directv they insist that they do not know anything about those offers and will not apply those benefits to the customer and insist that they have no receord of those items and will not honor them.

Cost too much, the service wasnt good, knowing Oklahoma's wind and crazy weather, you can bet that the picture wasnt clear a lot of the time. It was a hassle trying to get it installed.

I like Cox alot better. The customer service is convenient, local, the price isnt too bad, they provide me all the internet, cable, and phone service I need.

I recently received a movie offer to order 2 movies for 4.99. My comment to receiving this is that I receive netflix 18 a month and I get to watch several movies new and old. and many directly to my tv. if this is something that netflix can offer how come directv don't. Personally i think that directv should be able to offer this and probably even better.

I am very upset with Directv changing their music channel from XM to Sonic. Not only was there any pre-notification regarding this, but the change is so horrid. Sonic sucks! and for this I am seriously considering a change in satellite services. Your loss for sure.

I have been a direct tv subscriber for just over 4 months, I have been on the phone with customer care weekly about reception, did not know I would have to reset my box every few days.. Cant get out of the contract with out paying a bunch of money.. I live in a great area for weather so it is not a issue, one day, no reception, the next bad sound..Stay with your cable company, put up with the price. .

WoW! Where do I start? I will make it fast and sweet. They will try everything in their power to get all the money they can from you. They lie to you from jump. They say they have no one over them, which is a lie. They tell you one thing and do another. Direct took money from someones bank account that was not on the account with Direct.

I purchased what I thought was a great deal with direct tv, well it has turned out to be the worse experience of my life. The sales person gave us what we thought was a deal, turned out to be the worse service ever. He lied about what we would be getting and now I have canceled my service. Well they took money out of my account for early cancellation, now the acct is in the negative. Would not recommend this company to my worse enemy.

Direct TV has quit showing our local channels, without any notice. I have been without this service for a month and a half. When I called Direct TV, to complain about not getting our local channels. I was told that they did not know what they were going to do, or when it would be fixed. I was then offered a 3 dollar credit on bill, that to me is an insult. Needless to say, when my contract expires...Goodbye Direct TV.

There service on the phone and in person is the worst i have ever seen.Being self employed myself iknow i would have been out of buisness if i treated people like they do. They lie to you on the phone over and over. They tell you the tec.s will be at your house between 1:00 and 4:00 one day and it maybe 1 or 2 days latter with no phone call to let you know.

In installation of dvr box the tech killed our phone line in some manner. Direct tv will not acknowledge that it was at fault and will not do anything about it but pass the buck. In talking to the employees who answer [protected] both a.m. and p.m. it appears to me that they have been instructed to acknowledge nothing and help with little.

Direct tv has promised me a refund of 197.00 resulting from an overpayment. it has been a month and I have made 6 phone calls to them. each time I am told that it will take between 3 days to 2 weeks. I have been a customer of directv for 12 plus years. that is all about to change. I do not recomend that anyone use direct tv.

Directv flat out lied to me! It is just about impossible to break their contract. Everytime I call them they give me a different answer, then take it back the next time I call. I would not wish Directv on my worst enemy!

The Tail is wagging the Dog here. Horrible customer service! Worse billing ever! No follow thru with complaints! Lie! Lie! Lie! They did not honor their rebate and when we cancelled for overcharge (several times) we were charged an early cancellation fee in which they have been dogged to collect. We turned them in to BBB but they snubbed BBB.

We Cancelled out Directv few weeks ago. because of not fixing the prombls And now all they do is keep on calling or semd mail
Please understand after we did that& everything was sent back just like we was told.
We want our phone number and address taken off their list but they don't know when to stop bother us.
If they keep on we will take father action agaist them.Hope they get this letter and know we mean busniness

I was charged ($431) the 2 years contract on my credit card WITHOUT my authorization and I am trying for 6 months already to get my money back from DIRECTV and until now I have not received anything. Everytime I called DIRECTV because there is no office where you can go and talk to SOMEBODY, they just told me to wait for the check which never arrived.

Contact me if your from PA and are belly up with Directv. IMKayles@hotmail.com. Their offer of service is just plain false. They publicly offer service for $29.99, and then bill at over $60.00. I've lost service twice.

Directv sent me a solicitation, and I tried to respond.
I entered the # that their solicitation provided & kept getting a message that I had provided the wrong number?
Seems like a large waste of mailer $ & time on some employee's part.
If they are this incompetent I may look for another provider for my tv reception.

Directv is one of the biggest ripoff cable company around. My wife and I have Had this company this company for over a year.

During that time I have told them that I get paid on the 1st. Ive been trying to get the bill corrected. There billing system is a rip off. I will no longer deal with this company again.

Im VERY VERY disappointmented.

The signal terrible. Any channel over 100 is choppy if there is a cloud in the sky. My DVR is dead. My contract will not expire until October 15, 2009. I am counting the days. I hate DirecTV. If they replace the DVR, it extends my lousy service 2 years. If I cancel before Oct 15, it'll cost me up to $360. This is extortion. I guess its their way to keep customers.

Don't do business with this company. They are running a scam with these contracts that you don't know you sign up for until you cancel the bill. They try to tell you that it is a verbal contract. Well then provide me a verbal recording proving that I agreed to the contract? Contact the BBB, email your local news station, and write your attorney general. THEY ARE A FRAUDULENT COMPANY!

I ordered DirecTV for the NFL season, and was up front with sales and installation on my goal of only using for 3 months. Upon cancellation they charged my $380 for early cancellation of a "2 year contract" - which I never heard about nor signed. I have asked repeatedly for any proof of such a commitment and only get back form letters which ignore my complaint. As they had my credit card this was charged without my consent.

I signed up for a one-year contract now they say I have to give them two years because of an upgrade I ordered. The additional year commitment was never stated until after I ordered the product/service and it was installed.

UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES, FALSE ADVERTISING, DECEPTIVE MARKETING, HIDDEN FEES AND HIDDEN TERMS.

I was lied to when asked about info on the amount my monthly bill would be. (25.00/mo) It turns out to be $64.00, but I can receive a discount of $21.00/mo for 12 mos. The amount was to be $25.00 for the life time of my service. I can only receive my discounts for 12 mos. My husband and I are on disability, I would go back to my cable company in a heart beat.

If your are a customer of directv don't even try and upgrading to a HD/DVR reciver for free as they advertize. Because if you call to upgrade they tell you its for NEW CUSTOMERS only. If your an exsiting customer it will cost you $200.00 and that is pretty sad that they treat there customers this way but that god there are other companys out there at are more than willing to treat there exsting with respect and give them a better deal

DIRECTV IS A BUNCH OF ### I ADVISE EVERYONE NOT TO FALL FOR THIER LIES. THIER SERVICE HAS BEEEN THE WORST IVE EVER SEEN OR HEARD OF THEY DONT EVEN PROVIDE LOCAL CHANNELS. MY SERVICES HAS BEEN CUT OFF A LEAST 6 TIMES IN A YEAR DUE TO THEIR MISTAKES I FEEL ITS CHEAPER TO CANCEL. PLEASE AVOID THE HEADACH AND GO SOMEWHERE ELES.
