We're pretty sure that if DirecTV showed up wayyyy more often on ComplaintsBoard and paid more attention to reviews and complaints, it would lead to better results. But for now, the resolution rate doesn't show successful interaction with customers. DirecTV bill/service

Do not go with DirecTV. I should have stayed with Cox a better company. Every month I called DirecTV about my bill. It was always something wrong with them overcharging me. I would remove certain services and they would adjust my bill. However the next bill would have the amount they had taken off. This is a slick company and I refuse to ever go with direct TV again. The connection is horrible, and when it lightly rains the service goes out. I am cancelling my service soon. I was told the price would jump up $70.00 before taxes and they do not offer any specials for customers. At least Cox would offer some type of special. NEVER GO WITH DIRECT TV. PLEASE LISTEN I WISH I KNEW WHAT I KNEW NOW.

DirecTV installer

I purchased an offer from Diect Tv for 4 Boxes to be installed. Installer placed wire coming into window. I said that was unsafe for me because you can pulled cable sticking out and potentially come into house. He became angry and slammed the door twice telling me line was placed through window years earlier. Untrue. On baseboard is fixture to plug in cable but phone persons stuck compter wire into same. Walking through the house from outside with nothing to protect feet and would not use throw rugs to wipe dirt off shoes. After not being able to install big box to my tv, more fustrated. I had 3tvs instead of 4 because i thought they were wireless and he stated he had 4 boxes. No! I ask that he call for me to change order. No! He then stated he was self-employed and was off at 4. This was around 3pm and he closed shop and would not do install. I signed no papers and he stated he was cancelling order. Rude and appear unable to do work. When I asked for supervisor, stated he one in same. Heard nothing back from local office.

DirecTV unethical charges

People! Do not I repeat do not ever give directv any credit card info to pay your bill. It will mean you dont get service but oh well. There is a clause in their terms number 5e that says once you enter a credit or debit card, you automatically authorize them to debit your account any monies owed on your account. I do not dispute that I owed them money. What I dispute is I never agreed to that term. I was standing in walmart when I signed up for service. I talked to the salesman and he put me on the phone with a lady and she set me up and toolk my card info for the first months payment. Fine. But this is where full disclosure should prevail. The do not tell you about section 5e in their terms nor do they ask you if you have reviewed their terms of service on their website and agree to it. Had this a been explained to me, I would never have agreed.

I had money issues so I did the right thing and called to cancel my account. I was told no I was not able to cancel until I was paid in full. What? I then proceeded to tell the lady I was just trying to be honest and do the right thing and get their equipment back to them and I understand their is a 20$ per month fee for early cancellation. Is was 2 weeks before I got the return box by which time they had already hit my bill for $425 in fees for unreturned equipment. I just got the friggin return box! I am already in collections and my account was just cancelled the 26th of may and we are now only june 18th! Wtf!

Lesson, if you do sign up, use a pre paid card and only keep enough money on it to pay your monthly bill and no more than. These people are crooks and will rip you off bad! Do not fall for their scams. And also I had to go to my bank, file a complaint and then cancel my debit card so they could not hit it again if they tried. Now instead of me paying them in full like I was going to, they can let the collection agency get $5 a month from me for the nest 2 years! Good riddance directv! You my friends suuuuuuuuck!

DirecTV service/installation

On May 26yth I set up an appointment to install a dish in the yard of the mobile home I stay in the summer in Buena Vista, CO. The appointment was set for June 14th between 12-4PM. I received 3 e mails and 2 phone calls reminding me of the appointment and to make sure someone over 18 would be at home during the installation. I waited patiently until 3PM when they called and said the technician would not be able to make it today and the next available appointment would be June 16th. Not only did I waste an entire day waiting for their tech to show up, but to add salt to the injury they did not even make my installation a priority for the next day. I tried to explain this was not a new installation but a change to my summer location and I have been a customer for 10 years. Made no difference, the supervisor on the phone kept saying there was nothing he could do. That's BS any supervisor worth his salt would have made sure I was first on the list for the next day. Having spent 36 years in the service business, 7 of them in dispatch I know damn well if he wanted to he could have made sure I was assigned a priority since I was the one inconvenienced. So as far as Direct TV claiming they have the highest customer satisfaction in the industry, not to me they don't. They have become worse since AT&T bought them out, is anyone surprised?

DirecTV terrible customer service and installation process

I booked directv through a costco promotion on may 6 2016. I thought the $300 costco gift card was a great incetive, and scheduled installation later in may. Since tha time adcomm, the third party costco/directtv management company, has cancelled my install three times because they did not have the equipment in colorado springs. So on may 29 adcomm called to say that if I did not accept installation on memorial day they would have to cancel my account and I would have to reapply and undergo another credit check. Even though they were responsible for all three cancellations, I had to go through the whole process again? So I contacted adcomm's customer service and they were awful too—long hold times, lack of understanding of the issues, a script-read response, and no accommodation depsite the fact that they were at fault. The only resolution offered was for me to start all over. Why should I have to take a credit check hit because they screwed up? So I contacted adcomm's marketing manager, brittany, who didn't return my phone call for two days and when she did, she offered no support or corrective action—not even an apology. She blamed it on directv and said I had to go through the process again, like it or not. Ridiculous! I just thought if costco only knew this was the kind of service their third party provider of directv was offering, they would be mortified. Whatever happened to costco-caliber customer service? Adcomm should be ashamed of themselves...

DirecTV terrible service

Two days ago [protected] @ 910 p.m I received an alert on my phone saying direct tv has removed $443.75 from my account. Not only was this a surprise because I removed the automatic card charge from my plan, my account was over due so they cancelled/terminated my services and sent me return equipment boxes. I haven't paid them in maybe 3 or 4 months due to financial hardship. When the money was removed from my account I, informed them that I was broke and the money they took was part of my rent to stop eviction. They didn't care of course. I tried to cancel with them 4x because I hated the service and I was told my bill would be $35.00 a month but my bill was double that. I didn't know once you give them your card and ask them to remove automated payment they can just go in your account whenever. I'm so done and I will also be writing how much I hate direct tv in my blog, facebook, twitter etc I hope those devils lose all their business they lie to get. Terrible service and terrible contracts

DirecTV payment dispute

Account # 115296 in the Name of Richard Price

DirectTV says our bank returned a payment in the amount of $129.70.

DirecTV first stated that it was check #4370(our February payment) that was returned. That check cleared our bank on March 1st. When we called to say that the payment had cleared, DirecTV then said it was check #4392 (our March payment). Than check cleared our bank on March 28th. We provided DirecTV with a complete March bank statement showing that both checks were paid. Then DirecTV said the payment was reversed in April. So we provided our complete April bank statement showing that we had not received a credit from DirecTV. My husband also provided electronic trace numbers for the payments. We have continued to make our regular monthly payments but DirecTV insists we are past due and that our service will be disconnected May 24th.

We have been customers of DirecTV for 17 years. In all that time we have never had a late payment or bounced a check. My husband has written three emails through the DirecTV website, a letter to the president, and has spent hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue.

We want all of our payments credited and the late fees waived.

My Direct TV Account #[protected] has received a bill for $113.58 due 9/24/17. This I feel is in error, as the account is in suspension. Last payment was made in April, 2016 before going into suspension. With the so-called six-month suspension rule, this would make the correct billing due in October, for November billing, 2017. I was also given a credit of over $50.00 for account #[protected], which has been discontinued due to move to retirement center. I was referred by Direct TV Customer Service to file this complaint. I also want to change the service to Basic, $29.99? per mo. until activation.

DirecTV billing and customer service

I had a contract for 48.00 for 12 months. 119.00 the other 12 months. After one year and 6 months my monthly bill was 158.00 it just kept rising. I decided to break my contract and get out of it. I was prepared to accept the consequences of 20.00 per month for months left on contract as stated in the fine print. I had heard horror stories about direct tv using bank catd provided to take money when ever they want. I cancelled my card snd my bank issued me a new one. Direct tv obtained my new card without my authorization. They randomly took 106.97 over drawing me by 60.00 with out warning or permission. I have every intention of paying what was ageed. I do not think direct tv has the right to hack into my accounts and take ehat they eant when they want.

DirecTV cancellation fee

I ordered 2 room service but only got one hooked up. Technician tried to go across Attic and down wall but could not. He then said that he could go around house but it will cost you $50. I told him I would not pay for it. So I ran a wire from other room across hallway to box. 2 months later a supervisor came to check he said he would have a technician come back. He never did! We were sick of tripping over the wire. Called and told you that if don't fix it I don't want your service. 2 more months went by and I canceled service. You sent me a bill for $14. Then one for $398 a month later. A month later you took it out of my bank the next day I got a letter that said I have 5 days to pay. You have no write! In your contact it states a$20 a month cancelation fee not balance due upon cancelation. I want my money back you thieves!

DirecTV billing problems

To whom it may concern,

I am voicing my opinion on my father in laws bill that we never even heard of it being that way. We have never ordered ADULT movies EVER and now we are being charged for it, I would like someone to email me to resolve this matter, I am not happy about this especially since I am power of attorney of my father in laws banking account, if something is not done for those charges being erased, we will be pursing the matter further and we will be suing.

DirecTV wondering where my money is they suppose to put bk on my card that they took off

On the 29th of april I called direct tv to see how much there tv service and there internet service and they told me it would be 61.67 to get turned on so I said ok lets do it well when I got off the phone with them I went and called my card the same card they took my money off is the same one I get my ssi on before I called them I checked my card and it had 384 on it bc I just got my check well after I called direct and sighed up with them I decided to call my card again and ther wuz only 54 dollars on it so I called them right back and cancelled it and they were suppose to put my money back on there but they aint yet and I just want my money bk my name is krissyjones my number is [protected] feel free to call me anytime thank you

DirecTV lmn

I got to watch the lifetime movie network but I haven't been able to enjoy watching because the same movies play over and over they dont ever play any of the older movies they use to show when lifetime first came on the air there are so many good movies based on true life events I dont know if true movie thursday has been removed but if your gonna say true movie thursday play different movies not same ones back to back I pay to see good movies and I love movies based on true life events and drama I dont feel like im getting my moneys worth

DirecTV equipment/programming issues

On 4/23/16 I noticed that all of my stations were showing duplicate programming for example western and eastern channels were showing the same thing, 1st of all I have been with Directv since 2003 and along with have to replace equipment within the last six months the service is really really awful, when I called them to find out why I basically got not answer, since AT&T merged/ bought Directv the service has gone DOWN.. I pay for every movie channel not to get duplicate programming on them. Im so over both companies at this point and I would not recommend either of them to ANYONE! !

DirecTV direct tv and at&t bundle package scam

I got the direct Tv + at&t hight speed internet bundle package for 44.99/mo. The offer letter was mailed to my home. I called the agent using the phone number listed in the letter. The agent told me the total price will by $68/mo due to the tax. I accepted the offer. The bill came to be $$96/mo. Call at&t customer service, they said it's impossible that I can have that offer. I told them that I can fax them the letter I have. They said they know that but my price can't be changed.

The above is a fact description by a regular customer of a reputable company. This kind of business practice totally changed my perception to AT&T and direct TV.

DirecTV direct tv driver

On April 11th at 6:30 pm I was ran off the road two times by a crazy direct tv driver in uncasville/montville Ct. The drivers plate # is 151ZAZ. He tried to pass me on the right going extremely over the speed limit as two lanes merged into one. Pushing me into oncoming traffic the first time. The second time, I was driving past him as he was in a right hand turn lane and he cut the vans stealing wheel to the left to me it look as if his van was
Going to pull out in front of me, then quickly getting back into his lane. All this with my 5 year old daughter in the car. I am not a subscriber to direct tv, but I doubt that this company wants this person representing them. This man was dangerous and thought his actions were funny. They could have been deadly.

DirecTV directv and at&t bundle promotion (a sham)

Back in November 2015, Direct TV and ATand T offered the bundle service to us with the understanding that we would save money, monthly. Actually, the ATandT bill increased to 500.00 in two months ! Direct TV added 323.00 this month. We have trying to resolve the astronomical charges. We have spent six to eight hours since, December 2015. Our bills are paid on time, monthly. This bundle promotion is dishonest and sheisty ! Direct TV blames ATand T and ATand T blames Direct TV ! I had an hour phone conference with a supervisor from Direct TV last night . He did verbally admit that they made a mistake with billing/double billing. I did tell him that the customer is being punished for their jobs mistakes. I am in favor for a class action suit.

DirecTV did not get $100 visa card

Promised #100 VISA card when sighing up Nov., 2015. It was to be mailed to me after 3 months service with no effort on my part. Also my son was to get $100 for referring me & I was to get $ 100 for signing up. Later was told that sales person made a mistake, Son & I couldn't both get $ 100. Deal then was to give me $100 credit on 1st few bills, which I received. I wrote check to son $100 fro referral. Then was told didn't get VISA card because I was to activate it on line.
Made several phone calls -usually on hold 45 minutes before speaking to anyone. Spent 2 days & several hours trying to activate online. Waste of time, going in circles. Told them to mail me the form by postal service & I would mail it back in. Form never arrived.
March 3, 2016 I called in again & agent said that she would call me back on my cell phone next day with ATT rep on for conference call to settle it. Call never came.
Called today & Angel said she would consult with supervisor & call me back on cell phone. No promises for when that will happen.

DirecTV tv service

We recently took over possession of my mother's home after she was placed in a nursing home. We decided to go with Direct for our service, apparently after taking my money, they decided since I was related to her (this is enough according to them) and she owed them money, now mind you she has advanced alzheimer's and has no idea she ever had DTV, that WE were linked to her just by virtue of being related and we could NOT have tv service from them, I asked to speak, repeatedly with Ms Carmen Nava who made this rule and they told me "THAT IS NOT HAPPENING"

It is a sad state of affairs when a company can link people together just because they are related and deny services based on someone else's issues who are not even household members any longer.

I want a response from MS Nava on this personally, not minions reading frm scripts.

Hi My name is David Johnson-Now I'm not sure when we got Direct T.V but since then every week for a year I have had to call them to reprogram our remote-now this time some finally said well we will send you a new remote-About Damm time I say!

Cablevision/Optimum pulled the same crap on me years ago.I asked the representative why didn't she force me to pay her grandparent's bill too while she was at it?
I HATE THEM!
I miss their internet service though.

DirecTV charged for no service

I talk to a direct tv gal in madison, wi. At the alliant center for a home and water show, not sure the name of it. She ask if I would be interested in switching to direct tv. I said if I could be set up with hd that I would switch.
She signed me up with an appointment for someone to come to my home and see if this could work, someone came to my house feb. 12, and I was informed that they could not set me up with hd... To many trees.. My address is w1948 pleasant ave. Markesan, wi.
I signed up for this jan. 31, 2016 and was billed feb.2, 2016 from my credit card for $26.55. This order was cancelled and I need to be reimbursed for this amount.

DirecTV cable internet bundle

On 12/22/15 directtv (Dtv) and att sold me an internet/cable bundle deal that has been heavily advertised after clear internet went out of business and dtv partnered with att.
On 1/1/16 att didn’t show up for the installation and I lost a day at work waiting for them. After hours on the phone trying to find out why they scheduled an appointment and didn’t show up – I was told they rescheduled it and notified me by email, however that email never came to me.
On 1/4/16 att technician showed up and said the internet speed I ordered wasn’t set up on my street, he went outside and looked around the house and then told me he needed to run a line from the street. Then he disappeared and never came back. After hours on the phone with att trying to find out why the technician showed up and disappeared – I was told his notes showed he never planned to come back and that the high speed internet I ordered wasn’t available on my street at all and no lines can be run from the street because the whole street doesn’t have access to their services.
On 1/4/16 - since I need high speed internet for my job, I canceled the entire bundle that was sold to me (Dtv and att) because there was no point in keeping the dtv when att couldn’t provide their part of the bundle. I had to spend hours on the phone trying to make sure everything was cancelled and I wouldn’t be billed, I was harassed about cancelling and everyone who talked to me from 1/4/16 until 1/8/16 tried to bully me into keeping the service (Over and over and over again).
On 1/8/16 att and dtv confirmed my entire bundle order was cancelled and I would not be charged for any of it.
It is now 2/17/16 and directtv, po box 54000 los angeles ca 90054 is billing me an “early cancellation fee” along with additional charges they claim are due. Early cancellation fees for a bundle service that should never have been sold to me and is not available to me where I live is illegal and a complete scam. I have been threatened by email, billing statement and verbally over the phone [protected]) that dtv is going to charge my bank account if I do not pay the bill. I told dtv on 3 phone calls today that they are not authorized to charge my bank account, that I have reported this to the better business bureau website today, the ca attorney general consumer complaint department and that i’m also posting it on social media websites. The only response the people at [protected] will give me is that their billing department will decide whether or not the charges are valid and they will charge my account and there is nothing I can do about it – and the people who make the decisions in the billing department will not speak with me.
As far as i’m concerned dtv and att owe me over 2 days of lost wages (Unsuccessful installation appointments and numerous hours of phone time I spent with them while being bullied, harassed, talked down to and threatened. Each time I attempted to try to stop this illegal billing I was held hostage on the phone by people who kept badgering me to reactivate my account at dtv for being a loyal customer since 2012, holding the billing over my head and threatening to charge my account if I don't pay the bill or go back to dtv.
