Diamonds International poor quality

Purchased what I believed was a beautiful ring with 44 white diamonds and 57 blue diamonds on september 15, 2009 while on my cruise in alaska.

On october 4th, when I was showing the ring to a friend she pointed out that a diamond was missing.

Called the very next day and was told to fax my documents (I did), next day I was informed that because it was within thirty days they would only replace the diamond and if I have any other problems with the ring I am on my own.

I requested a full refund because I believe the ring to be poorly made with a diamond coming out in less than three weeks (not even worn every day) and a rma number to return the ring.
The fun begins and this still is not resolved. Good news my visa card company has stopped payment and is now helping me with my complaint.

Spoke with another friend and she said she would never purchase again from diamond international because they do not guarantee their jewlery and she had problems with her one and only purchase of two rings.

Earlier I purchased a ring on board ship and it came with a life time warranty, I have received the certificate in the mail, from now on this will be the only way I purchase jewlery while on a cruise.

I am from Ketchikan Alaska and I know most of the store owners, I know for a fact that they stand behind what they sell as they are not a fly by night stores at all, they come to Alaska for the summer months and back to the Virgin Islands for the winter, or Florida. I am sorry that you feel that they do not stand behind what they sell, I or my Ex wife purchased a fine watch from one of the Stores in the summer, well a few months later it needed repaired, took it back and they shipped it off for repair that did not cost me a cent. Got the watch back and its been working fine ever since.

Diamonds International poor customer service, awful products

I cruised with royal caribbean during the week of 11-oct-08 to 18-oct-08. While in phillipsburg, sm, I made a purchase of a diamond engagement ring at tanzanite international in wathey square. Upon returning to the ship, we noticed that the center stone was mounted crookedly, and took the ring to the onboard "shopping assistant" to discuss how we could go about getting the problem remedied. Unfortunately, a tropical storm decided to blow us out of puerto rico, so nothing could be fixed while on the ship. I filled out a "merchandise adjustment form" and agreed to having royal caribbean contact the dealer so that they could get in contact with me.

Upon returning to the states, I went to have the ring appraised at a reputable and trusted jeweler. It came as a bit of a shock when the jeweler took one look at the ring, and informed me that I had "been taken" by diamonds international (parent company to ti). The jeweler then proceeded to give me a laundry list of problems with the stone/setting/mounting that include the following highlights:

- the original diamond was over-priced and poorly cut.
- the stone was over sized for the setting that it was placed in and had to be forced into the setting.
- as a result of the stone being over sized and a complete mismatch for the setting, the di jeweler that mounted the stone had to do the following:

* one of the four prongs was broken off and then soldered back onto the ring. This resulted in a visible crack on the broken off prong and a possible weakness in the mount that could result in a lost stone.
* the other three prongs were just as atrocious. As the stone was originally cut funny, it fit into the setting crooked. This caused gaps in the other three sides that had to be filled in with a ridiculous amount of solder. The solder caused visible markings in the 3 remaining prongs and caused the center diamond to be both not square to the setting and caused the diamond to "run downhill.

- in addition to the center stone, the ring has a"pave"setting. Due to poor polishing and mounting, the di jeweler polished off the outside prongs on one whole side of the pave-setting. This will, most certainly, cause the outside diamonds to fall out much easier than they would if the prongs remained intact.
- as a result of having to shrink the size of the ring, the whole mounting is crooked and leans to the left. This can also be seen by the naked eye, and could result in an improper fit.

Di took almost 2 hours to mount and size this setting and diamond, and as a result of the store nearing closing hours, I feel that it was a rushed job and they butchered the ring. There's absolutely no way I could have ever proposed with this ring. Our family jeweler was appalled by this ring.

Upon contacting diamonds international and presenting them with this information, I was put in touch (and would continue for the next 6 months) with juan. I was informed that I was just having"buyers remorse"and there was nothing that they could do. I then had it professionally appraised by an independent appraiser where it was valued at $1200 less than what I had paid for it. Diamonds international then told me they didn't trust my appraiser, and needed to see it for themselves. For the next 6 months, I fought back and forth with them, reluctantly sending it back to them for appraisal, only to have them tell me that their appraiser found nothing wrong with it and that I was left with little options. Fed up, I finally told the guy on the line that I could no longer deal with him and needed to speak with someone else. I was finally put on with a manager, who told me that I would be able to get store credit. I told him that it was pointless to get store credit for"crap product"if it was just going to go back to more"crap product". Luckily, di sells loose stones. I purchased a loose diamond from them which I then put into a mount provided by the aforementioned trust-worthy jeweler.

I will never do business with this company again. Their business practices are vicious. They make every attempt to make you feel awful for trying to get your money back. Do not buy anything from them! Ever!

I also had a bad experience with Stetic Dental Implants in Cancun. Manny, the sales man, was very well spoken and made all kinds of promsies. However, the clinic was very disorganized. I had to wait 3 hours only to be told to come back the next day. I came back the next day to wait almost 2 hours. The implnat surgery hurt like heck! I also had a couple of crowns done. They looked terrible. When I called Manny, he told me i would get use to them. I woudl strongly encourage everyeone to NOT go to Stetic Dental Implants.

I am experiencing the same. I bought a ring from DI on Mar 23 2011 and on Apl 17th, one of the stones fell out (lost). I am now getting the run around from DI (that is if they'll even respond to me). I want to return the ring for a full refund (within the 30 day policy) and they will not answer my question about this. Instead they continue on with a repair claim AND proceed to tell me that I will have to pay a charge because the diamond is larger than .15ct. This was a very expensive mistake ($5800USD) - I will NEVER deal with DI again.

I have been dealing with someone named Selene and have been getting the run-around for over 3 weeks. She was to send me the information for me to send my $2, 296 ring back because one of the little diamonds fell out before I had the ring 2 months. I am so sick of your service and hope I can get some satisfaction from this complaint. I don't want to deal with her mainly because she is so hard to understand. My claim #AM33011004.
I hope this will get results. Betty Fleming

I Agree with all above complained this company is very bad company to deal with. I was just recently on NCL cruise (Pearl) this year 1/2/2011. and bought a diamond ring from DI in Belize, I pick this store because NCL shopping consultant speak very highly of them and 3odays warranty return policy so these store is stand behind their products. I am not stupid I just trust them too much. I was not able to return the diamond ring because I did not have my ring check by EGL or AIG any other appraisal will not accept. It sure cost me alot of money already. So do not buy anything from them even just little small thing.

Dude, you are a ###. Although I do agree that DI is an awful company, and I would never buy anything from them, the fact that overpaid for a bad product is your fault. I mean, wtf, did they hold a gun to your head? I only wish I could do some business with you, since you are so incredibly stupid. A fool and his money...

Diamonds International credit card information stollen by employee

My boyfriend and I purchased a ring at the diamonds international in cozumel, while sailing on the carnival legend. After attending a jem seminar on the ship we decided to look at the diamonds international store. We were assured that we would get a great deal... We decided to buy the ring.
The "port shopping" person that held seminars on the ship, etc. Was in the store with us at the time of purchase. So I felt like there was nothing to worry about. When we got home, a week later more than 2, 400 was charged to our card that was used at the store. All charges were for stores in the mexico area. This was the one and only tijme we used the card the entire trip.
Dont purchase anything from this company. They did not run our card in front of us. There is a small room in the center of the store... They said they were filling out paper work on the ring. We actually had to ask a couple times for the card... We needed to board the ship. The carnival "shopper" that was with us even had to say they need their card and paperwork. Looking back. I realize they were writing writing down the info on the card, and checking the balance on the account. I've called carnival and they are doing an investigation.

I upgraded my ring. I had my original diamond added to a pendant and purchased a new diamond. I think it looks great and was securely set as I had it checked by a jeweler. Unfortunately, true to all of the reviews, the Diamond's quality is no where near the appraisal they gave us. The diamond they mounted us now being remounted as they merely ship oddities it to my other diamond. I was asked by the jeweler if I could get a refund on my stone and did not even realize I had recourse. Advice? What am I supposed to do? The charge id on our credit card and a ten diamond band we signed an agreement to pay for over twelve months. How do we render a complaint and get a refund or a discount on what we paid?

Bought a diamond at DI in Cozumel a few days ago while on a Caribbean Princess Cruise. DI ruined my ring while sitting the stone. I talked to the manager of the jewelry store on the ship and she didn't seem to care. I will be contacting DI tomorrow.

Contact the FBI in New York City and report Diamonds International and or their credit card bank if included in the scam. Diamonds International is being investigated. We as American Citizens need to flood the FBI and out state senators to help put this company down and have the owners indicted. Report this issue with all document or at least your complete story When DI goes to trial you want your name added to the list. There is powers in numbers so let give the FBI as much documentation as possible to put the owner, Albert Gad on trial. We have many of the names of their employees who will be included and indicted and some of their own are jumping ship and supplying information to the FBI.

Diamonds International scam and fraud company

On april 1 2009, we were on a cruise on the carnival mircel. From ft. Lauderdale to st maarten and during all this time we heard he super shopper neal. Touting di diamonds international 38 west 48th st. New york, n.Y. 10038, with stores on all of the islands. Neal said di was an extremely reputable company who had a diamond that no one else had, and on and on.
When we arrived in st. Maarten my girlfriend and I went to the store located in wathey square, phillipsburg. We were waited on by a salesman named heeman. We told him we wanted to look at the crown of light diamonds. After we spent at least two hours looking at the various stones, heeman started his sales pitch, but I advised him we could not see our way to buy a ring for a year at least. He said "you need a year?" I reiterated, a year at least. He said let me talk to my manager. He returned in about ten minutes with a man named david, who introduced himself as the manager. He asked if I needed a year, I said I did. Mhe said he would check with his boss and new york and see if we could get no payments or interest for one year. David was gone for about 20 minutes and when he returned he said "good news, I got you approved for no payments and no interest for one year. I asked again we pay no money at all for one year and he said"yes"no money or payments at all for one year. Based on this we bought a 1.2 carat crown of light diamond for $14454 including the setting.

On may 1, 2009, we received a credit card bill in the mail, from di diamonds international saying a minimum payment of $438.00 is due by 5/21/09. We have called the store in st. Maarten, the headquarters in new york, customer service, with no result other than" you should have read the little yellow paper you signed (5x7), I said why would it be necessary to read anything since we spent 3.5 hours negotiating a deal and we believed di was ethical and honest and would honor the deal they agreed to. Wrong. Di diamonds international are one step below used car salesmen and do not deserve to be in business scamming the public.

We purchased a Crown of light ring for $5, 700 back in 2017 in Grand Cayman, RCCL salesman on the ship promoted the hell out of them while we were onboard. We got back to NY and had it appraised by 3 separate jewelers who quoted us far less than what we paid and then showed us what $5, 700 would have bought us on display, it was night and day. We wrote a complaint letter to both RCCL and DI and the end result was a check for $500. A Crown of Light retail store just opened in Boca Raton, FL and we will be there next month. We want to see (1) What they are selling for in the US and (2) If they are willing to exchange our ring for another not a Crown of Light or even buy it back at a discount of course. It is worth a shot.

I took a Carnival Cruise with a friend on May 7th -14 2017.
This ship (The Breeze) was scheduled for Jamaica, Grand Caymans & Cozumel. We had someone who needed medical attention, so the Ship had to turn around and we went to Cozumel. After dropping off passenger, the ship had to be rerouted. We never got to go to Jamaica. The last stop was back in Cozumel. The Ship does a lot of advertising and DIamonds International was one. We finally got off Ship in Cozumel. Yes, We were scammed. The pressure was extreme and before you knew it, I was out a lot of money. After returning I started the calling and the same stories there is nothing we can do. It's not over, I am now speaking to a Attorney. This is a SCAM! Be Ware of DI. And Don't Buy From This Company. SCAM!

My wife and I just came back from a cruise and we purchased a Hublot watch ($10, 400) and a very nice ring ($17, 000). I am very satisfied with my watch and I have checked price on it and, while it's not a steal, it did save me a few hudred dollars. The ring is made of white gold and it seems to iritate my wife's finger. DI's customer service dept. is working with us to return the ring now. From what I have read about negative complaints, they all sound like they were begging to get taken advantage of. Welcome to the real world! It's your money and make sure that you can afford any purchases and make sure that you read any contracts...

This is rediculous... Frank you should be ashamed of yourself for being in a jewelry store for two hours before you even began the negotiation process. why would you even dare walk into a jewelry store if you wernt seriously contemplating/researching buying something and after wasting 2 hours of this poor mans day your going to tell him you aren't buying for a year?! Of course he's going to try and close the deal you just made him loose like 20 saleas and his manager is probably looking at him like "All this time your spending with this guest you better get the sale". Also for those of you that don't know if a guest is showing signs that they're not going to buy from the sales rep it is MANDATORY for them to bring someone else into the sale to attempt to close the sale. It is arrogant for the sales person to think they've done Everything for the guest and deny the others associates the opportunity to nmake the sale happen. If you are offened by this process you shouldn't be there! High end jewelry places are not places to (browse) especially if your broke and if your there just for the experience (like going to tiffany's) let the sales person know that upfront and don't be upset if they ignore you for a more serious and qualified guest. These people have goals to make and bills to pay and it is indulgent of you to think that they should not try they're hardest to sell you something. However, I do agree that they should not LIE to you to make a sale. that being said in my 13 years in retail i have NEVER heard of a place that will loan 15000 with NO INTEREST and NO PAYMENTS. There is ALWAYS payments the just won't penalize you (interest) for borrowing their money if you make your payments on time. The rep did EVERYTRHING right except make sure you were clear on that part. Most people misunderstand the payment part though it's mentioned because they hear what they want to hear and regardless you had to give him ALL your personal info to have them see if you prequailfied in the first place which in 3.5 hrs is plenty of time to have the doc and ask questions. it was perfectly legit and wit 438 a mo you actually got off easy...gopd for them.

I just got back from a cruise that stopped in St Thomas. I purchased a 0.71ct crown of light diamond from DI. I had it appraised and it was valued at $1500 more than I paid. The money back guarantee only covers a 2 grade variance from what is stated, not for overpaying on the appraised value. It is definitely not true "a non standard cut is worth much less than a standard cut." Jewellers and some appraisers tell you that because they want your business to stay at home, and DI has exclusive rights to the Crown of Light. I am pleased with my purchase and even the appraiser said it was good value. Always it is buyer be ware, and let's face it if you have to a diamond over a year should you be buying it in the first place. Choose one that fits in your budget and buy it on your credit card that can be paid off in one month.

My husband and I went on a Carnival cruise in September. Gary, spoke very highly of DI as well. We purchased two rings at DI, in Belize. We financed and were told "one year". When we received our bill, it seems that "one year" turned into 6 months.

Frank,

I am sorry but "commonsense" is very right. So though without knowing color or clarity chances are you paid about 35-45% too much for a "proprietary cut" then you signed up for a what was it 26-29% revolving charge loan? I hate to say it but they saw you coming. Learn from this!
1. Always read the receipt and all the fine print in the contract.
2. When a company/person the super shopper is promoting something like they do always be aware there is something in it for them.
3. You bought a non standard cut which is therefore worth much less than a standard cut.

Diamonds International - ripped off on customized ring

My husband & I were in cozumel on a carnival cruise jan. 29, 2009 and were looking for a ring for him.in over 23 years of marriage it is the first time he requested any jewelry. He wanted an unusual ring that wouldn't be seen on everyone. The salesman picked out a diamond men's ring which had a 0.28 ct diamond set to one side. My husband said it was ok but...

Diamonds International scam and cheating

I purchased a white gold sapphire ring at diamonds international while on a carnival legend cruise in september, 2007, to belize. It was a gift for my daughter's birthday.

Within the first couple weeks of wearing, a stone came out and that is when the fun began. After numerous calls to diamonds international, I finally received return shipping information to send the ring back to their ny location for repair/replacement. This was november 13, 2007.

After numerous calls, which were either not returned or being told that the person I dealt with no longer worked for the company, I received the ring back (after 4 months) on march 10th, 2008. My daughter wore the ring to work one day and the stone fell out again. The stone obviously was not a sapphire as it had clear spots in it and the glue job was evident.

I am thoroughly disgusted and it is not worth my blood pressure to go through sending this ring back again. The ring is inferior and my only satisfaction at this point would be a complete refund of my money. Carnival should not promote this business if they are not going to follow up on problems that their guests have. I work too hard for $600. To be thrown down the drain. My advice to anyone is to not use diamonds international for your jewelry purchases.

DIAMONDS INTERNATIONAL is a fraud and rip off. I purchased diamond studs in Aruba Feb. 19, 2013 for $ 11, 300 and had them appraised by a very reputable jeweler. The value of the appraisal was $ 7400.00 and is certified. DI states if you get an appraisal of a lesser value they will allow you to return the diamonds. That is an out and out lie they do not stand behind their warrantees. DO NOT get involved with this company buy your jewelry in the USA so you have a reputable company to go back to. Learn from others mistakes I wish I would have read these complaints before I could have same myself a lot of money and aggravation.

Diamonds International horrible company

We cruised on carnival elation on 3/17-3/23/07 to the bahamas. We attended the shopping presentation onboard with the elation's super shopper mark. Mark touted diamond international as one of only two diamond merchants in nassau that could be trusted.

We were shopping for a.50 carat loose diamond. We selected a round cut diamond price around $1700, but they would give us a deal on it for $1375. Per the salesperson and the appraisal we received from di it was valued at $1730, is.51 carat white diamond that was g color and i1 clarity.

When we returned to the states we had the diamond re-appraised. I assure you that this appraiser had no interest in purchasing our diamond or selling us another diamond. He is an independent appraiser, not a jeweler, who does appraisals in several of the jewelry stores in our area. We have used him before and he was right on the money with our previous loose diamond appraisal. He neither tried to purchase our diamond or steer us to a jeweler to trade it in or sell it. My problem is not the newly appraised value of $1800, it is that that the.51 round cut, g color, i1 clarity diamond was now appraised as.48 carat, k color and i1 clarity. Not even close. My dispute is that the diamond was misrepresented. It is not what I purchased.

We are in dispute with di through pti, which is about useless because they appear to be working for diamonds international. They only offer to take my diamond back and give store credit (I can trust them to not 'lose' my diamond to give me what I am paying for?). Di is trying to wear us down so we'll just give up and accept their store-credit offer. They don't know i'm in for the long-haul.

Will I sail with carnival again? I don't know. Will I ever purchase anything of value overseas again? No! Diamonds international? Absolutely not and I will tell everyone I know! Read all of the threads, they are exactly what we are going through now. Buyer beware!

Diamonds International do not buy

I purchased a loose stone while on a carnvial cruise. While on the cruise, these stores are heavily promoted and you are assured that these are guaranteed stores. Once I got home, I had the ring appraised as it looked like there was a problem with the corner (princess cut 0.70 h si3). I was shocked to find out that the stone was neither the size or clarity that I thought 0.55 h i2). I called ppi and registered a claim, that was 7 mths ago. Di refuses to offer a refund and after many many calls I received a replacement. Cautious I had the stone looked at and once again it was not an si3 but an i2. I have been now working to get a refund. Carnvial takes no responsibility and advised that I had to deal with ppi. If anyone has contact info for someone at di to expedite this issue, please let me know. They do not return calls or emails.

My sister in law and I are also taken by Diamond International. We took a carnival cruise to Cozumel and was misled and lied to from the beginning. the store manager told us she will give our money back if we are not completely satisfied with the purchase and after back and forth with customer service DI will only give us a store credit and still respnsible for the bill even if we return the merchandise. PLEASE tell us how you are able to get DI to give your money back...I agree don't trust Carnival and their shopping expert. They are all in cohorts!

you are a ###. NO diamond place will exchange a stone you bought. What would stop me from buying an expensive stone, but coming back the next day with a cheap stone and insisting they refund me my money.

DI is a bad company, run by bad people, but you are stupid to think you can return a diamond.

We also purchased a loose diamond while on a Holland American cruise in Juneau, Alaska. We were told the diamond would appraise for much higher than what we paid ($17k) and were were getting a high quality diamond. RUN, RUN, RUN, away from Diamond International--don't WALK--RUN! And, DO NOT listen to the ship "Shopper Guy" he has his hand out to DI so it's a "win-win "deal for him. Long story short, my diamond appraised for only $10, 800 so try to get any $$ from DI and the ships "30 guarantee" is nothing but b**t. When all cruise ships dock in ANY port where DI is located, they just "rub" their hands together ! Again, wish I had googled DI BEFORE we shopped there! Next cruise I will be standing up shouting at the shopper guys intro to "great shopping" RUN, RUN, RUN--DO NOT SHOP @DI--ever!

Diamonds International no refund policy

On 11-27-08 we purchased crown of light diamond earings from diamonds international in st. Kitts. We were on the celebrity soltic, that night my wife wore the earings, during dinner she told me she was having pain in her ear lobes. We went to the show after dinner, then returnd to our cabin and upon removal of the earings, my wifes both ear lobes bled and were painful. The next day went to onboard shopper for advice, he advised contact d. I> when we return home. Here is where the "fun" starts. Dec. 3, 2008 phoned d.I. Left message. Dec. 4, 2008 spok to neil, faxed all documentation requested. After that no response to phone calls. Then was advised asupervisor can only handle case because it is crown of light. Four days for bella to return call. Then the hammer fell ; no cash refund when you buy from any d.I. Store. There are no signs posted, salesman did not advise of this. Bella informed me to read back of reciept. I infomed her to get the reciept you must pay in full, then it is to late! All she kept sayig is "company policy" called celebrity and was told to call on board media. I recieved same response. Bella told me she had a client with same complaint and d.I. Replaced setting with platinum, I asked for same, was told she would have to call vendor to see if it can be done! My advice if you goto any d.I. Store ask refund policy before you pay! I am still in the battle. Any advice on obtaing a refund please email [protected]@comcast.net

Does the receipt ACTUALLY say NO REFUNDS? Mine doesn't. Mine says refunds will not be issued due to buyer's remorse. How did it turn out for you? I am fighting this and hope others might have won or could share some info that might be useful.

Diamonds International selling junk jewelry!

Beware of diamonds international! On a cruise we made the mistake of believing the "super shopper" when listening to his "great buys in the ports" presentation on board. After purchasing a diamond ring in cozumel, mexico, we got home to have another appraisal done and found it was graded lower than it was represented. Further more, it was advised that I not wear the ring as the imperfections were such that if hit, it could be broken. This is suppose to be a diamond, a hard stone! Because our appraisal was the two grades below what di said it was, they had to agree to a full refund. We bought it in feb. And it is now the middle of may. They now have both the ring and our money. They have said our credit card would be credited and it has not. After all this time of unanswered messages and phone calls, they seem to think I am going away. Wrong! This is not a message from one dissatisfied customer. You can find many places and blogs to tell you of this misleading company. Two other members of our party were ripped off also. This was not an isolated case. I blame the cruise lines as well for promoting these deceptive practices. The fraudulent practices of diamonds international are to be avoided at all costs. They hope you will go away, but they have sold their junk to the wrong people. Many people are hearing about their fleecing of the public.

Fact #1 : The "super shoppers" receive kickbacks and are paid a commission on all stores they recommend. During their little "talks" they will put the fear of god into you if you don't buy from a recommended store, while there are some truths in that remember always the "shopper" is basically the first sales person you see for the shops they represent.
Fact #2: When you go into most of the jewelry stores on your cruise you are buying what is referred in the industry as "junk jewelry." If you knew the true markup you would need ... counseling.
Fact#3: To buy a diamond that is an I1 and assume that it not "junk" you obviously done your homework.
Fact#4 If you go into a store and see it is filled with sales people that are well under 30 years old is not a wise decision to make.
Going into a jewelry store making an "emotional purchase" at a place where you are going to be for 8 hours at best is not wise. Best to study the issue first and then only buy a quality stone that is certified by a reputable agency such as GIA or AGI.

My wife and I were just on a Carnival cruise and like everyone else we were told by the on board buying expert how great Diamonds International was. We went into the DI store in Belize and we picked out a princess cut diamond and setting to upgrade the modest engagement ring I purchased when we first were married. After they set the diamond I noticed what looked like a scratch in the stone. Although it turned out to be an inclusion that was previously not visible it completely ruined the stone. In fact, it was ugly.

The staff and the buyer from Carnival were very eager to fix the problem as my wife had not seen the ring after it was mounted. Long story short they found another stone that was a little better quality so I paid $500 more. They said I was buying a 1.05 ct VS1 K color princess cut diamond. Total cost with the setting was $4500.00 and the stone is gorgeous.

When we got home I looked on the internet and found posts and complaints like this one that made me very worried. I quickly made an appointment to have it appraised and was stunned to find out it appraised at $7500.00. The gemologist estimate the weight at 1.07 ct. She rated it a VS2 but color I.

Under a microscope it's flawless to my eyes and the gemologist said it was a very, very nice stone. On another note, while I was picking out my wife's stone she was buying me a Breitling watch I had my eye on. The jewelry store I had her ring appraised at is also an authorized Breitling dealer and I found out she got a great deal on the watch too.

In summary, our experience with DI was outstanding and we would buy from them again without hesitation. But you need to really look at what you're buying very closely because I could have walked out of there with an ugly stone had I not looked carefully. I don't think they were trying to pull a fast one because the inclusion was not visible until the stone was mounted. And they were eager to make us happy.

Diamonds International junk jewelry

I went on a norwegian cruise to alaska in june and spotted a ring I loved. When we got home we decided to oder it. They charged my card immediately - the day I called to order the rings (6-14-07). I sent my old set as a trade which they appraised while I was there. They in turn sent me the most ugly set you ever saw. I returned the wrong set and was told the one I wanted was sold. They searched other stores and found it in cozumel mexico. I waited for 2 months before I got the set I ordered while paying interest on it the whole time. 3 months after I got the set a small diamond on the left side of my large diamond fell out for no reason. I took it to a local jeweler and had it checked twice after the initial purchase. I took it back after the stone fell out and there was no reason for it to fall out at all. No bent prong or broken prong. I called diamonds international and fought with them. They didn't want to do anything until I screamed and yelled at them. They wanted me to send it in to be fixed and they would let me know how much it would cost me to fix. After screaming and yelling some more they finally agreed to do something. Mind you, this had been over a period of a month or so. After a couple different customer service representatives and lots of screaming and yelling they sent me a letter to sign for a $300 gift certificate. I told them I wouldn't buy any junk there ever again and I would settle for no less than reimbursement for the repair. After another couple of weeks they sent me a letter to sign for agreement of reimbursement for the repair. I signed and faxed it on 1/5/08. After calling back to check on it they said they didn't get my fax. I sent it again on 1/10/08. It is now 2/10/08 and have yet to get 1 lousy cent. Diamonds international is worthless. They have no integrity at all! I would beg anyone and everyone to never buy jewelry unless you buy local with backup for your purchase!

Diamonds International stone fell out after 3 months!

I saw a diamond in ketchikan alaska while on a cruise. I called and ordered the ring when I got home (a cost of $3600 with my trade). They charged my credit card immediately. They sent the wrong rings. The one I wanted was sold so they tried a different store in alaska - no ring. They found one in couzumel mexico and had it shipped which took about 2 months. Meanwhile, I am paying interest for something I don't have and they had my old wedding rings as a trade. 2 months with no rings! I finally get the rings and after 3 months a small diamond on the left side of the center diamond fell out. Mind you, I take this ring off for everything - dishes, cleaning, etc. I had also taken it to the local jewelers to be soldered together. It had been cleaned and checked twice in the 3 months since purchased. There was no broken or bent prongs when I took it in for repair to the local jeweler. After many attempts to contact di about the reimbursement of repairs (it took a 1 1/2 months to hear back from them that they would reimburse me.) they sent me a letter to sign saying I would settle for the cost of my repair ($225). I sent the letter and it has been another month and still no reimbursement. They are the lousiest business I have ever dealt with. They never return emails or phone calls. When they do it takes days to get any response and you have to be very demanding and tell them off in no uncertain terms. Then they act like they will do something and never follow through. I would warn anyone and everyone to only purchase locally with some kind of back up on your purchase. I will pay twice as much and buy local before I would ever even give di a thought!

Diamonds International beware of diamonds international!

I purchased a set of diamonds studs on 1/20/07 from di's cozumel, mexico store at avenida rafael e. Melgar #131. The purchase price was $1,500.00 usd. When I got home I decided that I would like to upgrade the quality of my diamonds. The back of the original sales receipt clearly states that "you may receive a store credit on any jewelry purchased by you within 30 days of your purchase provided you return to di and ti the original receipt for the item purchased along with the item in its original condition".

I contacted di customer service in nyc and spoke to joan m. To inform her that I would like to return the studs for store credit, to be used against the purchase of my upgraded studs via di's online store.

On 1/29/07 joan faxed me a claim form. I completed the form, returned it to joan, and on 1/31/07 I received back from joan rma# cz-91-01-a3107. On 1/31/07 I sent the original diamond studs and original sales ticket, appraisal, and credit card receipts back to joan via usps registered mail tracking number ra460607023us. The package was received at di on 2/6/07 as per the usps.

On 2/7/07 joan called me and left me a message stating that she would not process my store credit unless I provided her with an "egl certificate" on the stones I had returned. This "egl certificate" was never provided to me by the di cozumel sales staff when I made my original purchase, was never requested from me previously by joan, and is not listed as a requirement in any of joans return/shipping instructions. Furthermore, as per di's own website, the new pair of upgraded studs that I intend to purchase only comes with a "replacement value appraisal"... Not an egl certificate, which helps prove my suspicion that egl certificates are not part of di's standard operating practice and that joan is using the certificate as an excuse to rip me off.

WARNING TO ALL POTENTIAL DIAMONDS INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS! DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM! 10/31/2019 Royal Caribbean Cruise, port Costa Mayo, MX, I purchased a ring, tennis bracelet and a few other items. When I returned from my trip, I had the items checked out by a certified gemologist. They are very misleading and questionable at best. There are plenty of reputable diamond sellers out there do not be taken by these crooks.

THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT! AGAIN DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!

Gems
The tenants of God’s Throne are Justice and Righteousness. The symbolism of Gods Throne are Jewels.
To the truly blessed Jeweler who loves Rocks for their reflective nature, their feel, their sound, and the nature of the spirit echoes of heaven that they reflect, just holding or wearing one of these magnificent glorious creations of God on Earth, is a cathartic experience, and of course we want more.

The responsibility of the Jeweler is to look past the economics of the stone, into personal responsibility of Justice and Righteousness. Knowing that they hold the standard of God’s throne in the presence of His people.

To violate this principle for the purposes of personal gain, is the darkness of this age.

We Rock lovers will always move into the indescribable joy of surrounding ourselves with the beauty of Rocks. Yes it resonates with our desires to be Priest and Kings and lead by design as God rules.

There is plenty of room in all of this for corruption. Let God hold those accountable who defame His Throne, through deception for the purposes of personal gain.

God help us overcome the corrupt jewelers who have created their own thrones, instead of bringing Glory to God Most High.

If you can’t trust your Jeweler, then they should not be Jewelers there is no righteousness in them.

Let this be the Word of the Lord for those who have ears to hear and Let God reign on earth with Justice and Righteousness without wavering for the purposes of Kingdom Building and Bringing all Glory to God. Let the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord fill the earth and the waters cover the seas.

In Christ Jesus we pray.

Hello everybody, Just sharing my disappointment and frustration on this issue. Like many of your, my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary took a Cruise with Carnaval. The host of this company was very convincing polite and work hard to pursue his objective. We purchase a diamond at Puerto Vallarta. Two stone diamonds call the Crown of light for earrings studs. It is unbelievable how everybody works in combination to make the deal. From the guy on the Ship, the sales rep at Puerto Vallarta and the group in New York. Our purchase 28, 000.
We have tried everything, cancel and they didn't want to do anything. The last call I did they suggest to get an appraisal to show that the price was real, they even send me a reference to appraise my diamonds near my location. I made an appointment and took my diamonds. Everything was going fine. The appraiser was done and the value of the diamond was around $15, 000. I was so happy now I have a document to back me up on my complaint. Before I leave the appraise place I was called to go back, and I explained that they can not give me the document anymore. I ask why. what happens was Diamond International has sent an email to the appraisal place with details and the price they have charged to us. Now I'm convinced that these people are stilling on my face and manipulated the whole deal. How starving they are? The appraisal rep didn't want to talk to me anymore either return my calls. I guess they may feel intimidating on this matter.
Now my questions, have anybody has opened a legal suit on them? I will happy to join you. The only thing I have done in sent my complaint to BBB, and looking for a Jewelry Attorney, to find out is a have a case to fight back.

I would love to participate in a class action lawsuit if one ever comes to be. I was swept up in my first real vacation in years. It was me and my sister on a Royal Caribbean cruise in September of 2019.
Normally, I am the frugal one when it comes to my husband and I and spending money, but somehow I got suckered into buying a Crown of Light Diamond tennis bracelet from the Couture Collection by Diamonds International. They are real pros at scamming unsuspecting tourists who are just trying to relax and enjoy themselves on a cruise vacation. Since I was there to relax and enjoy myself, I let my guard down- and big mistake! They made it sound like it was such a steal getting it for the $90, 000 that I paid, which I am not the kind of person that can just go around buying $90, 000 pieces of jewelry. But they had somehow convinced me that if I buy it on store credit card (I had to apply for it - to pay that kind of price) I would be able to turn around and get back home and sell it for much more in the States and make a nice profit myself. Should have known it was too good to be true- but I wasn’t thinking, I wasn’t being logical or rational as I would have at a jewelry store in the US. They never said what it’s normal sales price was, but since we stopped in Nassau just after a hurricane or bad tropical storm had swept through the area the week before and had shut down much of their tourism income, the sales/store manager was like tell you what, I will make you a very good deal- because we need to boost our sales back up due to hurricane shutting everything down- I will give it to you for $90, 000- and it is worth well above that. Looking back, he never stated an actual appraisal/market value. They were very convincing (he and his team of sales reps) and unfortunately I was more trusting and gullible than I should have been. Now I’m stuck with $90, 000 in DI Comenity Bank credit card debt that’s getting much harder to pay since COVID began. And I have no recourse! I had it appraised two separate occasions. The first only appraised for $30-35, 000 from a well trusted local jeweler. The second insurance appraisal was for $90-95, 000, but then when I asked where I could sell it in the United States the certified gemologist said there’s really not a market in the US for Crown of Light Diamonds because the cut is proprietary and so novel. Not what the sales manager in Nassau led me to believe! It was supposed to be a way to me to make a much needed profit- like flipping a house, flip it/sell it in the States And payoff the credit card debt and have an additional $5, 000+. two years later, this nearly $2, 000 a month payment is causing all kinds of financial hardships, stress and strain on my marriage. But I have always been so careful and diligent with my credit, that I cannot let payments fall behind, etc because I don’t want my good credit ruined. There has to be a way of stopping them from doing this to people! It is literally the worst decision I have ever made- and I’m not only paying financially but in other ways too. I hope my family and I can survive this stupid, thoughtless mistake.

Yes, My wife was also taken advantage of- they refused to take back or cancel the sale. We have contacted Attorney Mark Hammervold.

Maybe many of us should join together and file a 'class action suit' against the owners of the company.

What do you thibnk?

I ordered a Hublot watch in Alaska in August. It arrived today. It is not exacting like the watch that was shown to me in Alaska. I can send pictures of what was shown and what arrived. What are my options?

I purchased a $500 ring that was supposed to be white gold with diamonds. Went to a friend who owns a pawn shop and he said it was worth like $5! Not real, not gold. They said it was only silver and the diamonds and Amethyst is fake. The ring is worth nothing. I paid $500 big ones!

I purchased a 1..59 carat diamond from noble house jewelry ltd in overland park kansas on june 2008. I paid $10, 000.00 for the diamond. I have gotten it reappraised in attempt to sell and have discovered it was grossly upgraded and only worth a third of what it was paid for

We bought a "crown of light" ring on our cruise in cozamel? Two of the diamonds around the band have come out. I am very dissatisfied for how much money we spent on this ring, for the money that we spent this should have never happened. I would like a phone call from someone to help me with what I need to do!

THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL DIAMONDS/TANZANITE INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS! DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT! PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM! I purchased a ring, tennis bracelet and earrings. When I returned from my trip, I had the items checked out by a certified gemologist. The ring had a loose stone in the head; the earrings had an incomplete basket and did not have a full bar and one was not drilled through; and the bracelet had 8 loose stones, 4 chipped stones, a bent prong, and due to the soft metal, would probably need continual maintenance.

They have been very unwilling to work with me on a refund.

THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT! AGAIN DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!
