Just received one of these calls. As seems to be the MO, a "Jeremy Stuart" who has an extremely heavy Indian accent identified himself as being with the US Government DFF (Division of Finance Fraud?). He was looking for a former employee of ours who's been gone over a year. First he was asking for contact info on the guy, then he switches and tells me the ex-employee has now got our company involved in an investigation due to his criminal activities. (all false, of course). I asked the man to please fax me an official request on government stationary and with all pertinent info so I could pass it on to my boss. I also asked for his call back number, he got to the last two numbers and hung up. 336-609-76??
Why is this kind of thing allowed? If any American companies are farming out collection calling, or whatever the heck these people think they're doing, then this should be made illegal now. Imagine all the wasted productivity of all the office workers having to fend off these jerks!
