Dex Media - unauthorized credit cards

Warning! If you have a contractual or billing problem with this company you are in for a long and painful process. I am not giving an review of their actual services but rather on their "business practices" or lack thereof. We renewed our contract on a month to month basis. We called to cancel our contract and we told that it was cancelled. Four months later and dozens of attempted calls to their billing department and the charges continue to appear on our monthly credit card statement. First, it is exceedingly difficult to even get through to a representative. One time we called and the automated message said there were 154 people ahead of our call. Numerous times we took the option of leaving a call back number and we NEVER received a call from Dex Media. On the four occasions that we did speak to a representative we were told that the account was cancelled and refunds were issued. This never happened. The last phone call again confirmed the account was cancelled but we had to speak to a dispute resolution representative. Twice we were transferred to the wrong department, then the third we were put in a que with 62 callers ahead of us. We have resorted to disputing every charge with our credit card company. They investigated and reversed the charges. However, they can not stop Dex Media from continuing to charge our account monthly.

Do not due business with this company if you expect a problem. Their actions border on criminal behavior.

You guys did the same to me! I worked with this company for less than 2 weeks when I decided it wasn’t going to work bc I closed my business due to covid negatively impacting my company and tried to cancel during the buyers remorse period! I was given an Out of Business form which I returned and I spoke to someone on the phone who told me exactly hope to cancel my services and said I would NOT be charged which was a lie! I wasn’t charged last month when I initially cancelled but I just got a charge out of the blue and now have to dispute this charge with my bank. They denied my out of business form bc my phone number is still working which I told Saroya I didn’t have a business phone I only had a cell phone and I prepaid my website up for 1 whole year through domain.com so I have no way to close this that I’m aware of; I’m just simply not going to renew my domain. This is absurd, also I was told it would be $90 per month and signed the contract for that with Saroya and then she called me back very apologetically and said her boss said she didn’t have the authority to give me a discount that huge so she called me back a short while later and nearly DOUBLED the price to $145 . I felt out on the spot bc I’d already spent well over an hour on the phone with her prior and didn’t want her to feel like her time was wasted and also didn’t want her to get into trouble for trying to do something beyond her authority and costing the company money. Do NOT work with these people, they don’t honor their word in any aspect and I have every email to back what I’m saying up.

Dex Media - undelivered services

While renewing yellow pages advertising with Dex Media in 2015, the salesperson convinced me to add a $200+ per month service with Dex for an online advertising program. Within months it was obvious this was producing absolutely 0 results (no calls, no contacts, no clicks). I contacted Dex and was told there were problems with their new online program and that issue would be resolved soon. They agreed we had received no results. Months later, we still had no results and we contact Dex again and they agreed it still wasn't working due programming issues on their end. We asked for that portion of the service to be terminated and were told that we couldn't, regardless of results. Now 8 months later I have still received no results even though I've had to continue to pay the monthly $200+ fee. I've asked Dex to cancel my online contract and while admitting failure of their program, they have continued to refuse. It simple, your plan didn't work, quit charging the customer. Its basic business ethics. I would never recommend anyone do business with Dex. Horrible corporate philosophy
