Dental Works rude condescending office manager

Have gone to the Dentalworks in Mentor Ohio since 2008. Have never had a problem and really liked my the woman that cleaned my teeth. All had ortho work done and braces at same facility. A few major complaints, first is the wait time for an appointment, normally sat 30-60 minutes before being seen for any dental visit. Then there is the constant reminder calls, hey I am an adult I don't need repeated reminders of an appt., they need a reminder I am coming so they don't overbook as they always do. The major issue is that they insist upon xrays that are not needed so they can bill the insurance company. The office manager there Sonia is a unprofessional, immature girl who should not be dealing with the public in any way. Trying to make money for the company and putting that before the care of patients is wrong. I was denied care because I refused to let them do xrays. I have had numerous and am a cancer survivor and choose no radiation to my head, my body my choice. The manager acted horrible to me and talked down to me, I am a grown woman not a child, she should be fired for her behavior. I let her know what she is and she threatened to call mall security. Its a shame that they have hired and employ such a person at this office. I do NOT recommend going to Dentalworks ever. Their policy is to make money, they couldn't care a bit about the person. They care nothing about their customers.

Dental Works negligent doctors and incompetent assistants

I was in intense pain Dental Works advertised emergency service so I called them as soon as they opened at 10am and got a 2:30pm appointment that was not the problem. When i got there i told them i have a bad tooth and have been in severe pain for over 24 hrs instead of just doing an x ray of the bad tooth they made me do a full mouth set of x rays 18 total this took about an hour and a half and i still have not seen the doctor, now another 1/2 hour passes and i finally see the doctor, the doctor tells me i have a large abscess in the tooth and its infected plus I need a root canal in the tooth right next to it and a cavity in the tooth on the other side so now im 2 1/2 hours int my appointment and in crazy pain and the doctor tells me we should fill the cavity do the root canal then pull the infected tooth so i agree because i am in pain and just want my tooth pulled so i agree and the doctor disappears for another hour. To sum it up I had to be moved 3 times because of faulty equipment it only took 10 min for the cavity 30 for the root canal and 15 to pull the tooth but i was in the dental chair for 5 hours in pain wile the assistants fumbled around with equipment and the doctors talking standing around with staff talking personal business and the worst of it was the Dr, waited until she performed the other work to tell the abscessed tooth was infected right on the nerve and that's why after 12 shots of Novocaine the tooth would not go numb and she could pull it or i could schedule an appointment with a dental surgeon there was no way i could wait another day so I wrapped my arms around the chair and the Dr. pulled it out I felt every bit of it.

Dental Works bait and switch

I purchased a coupon through Livingsocial.com for "Dental exam with X-rays, cleaning, and enrollment in 'Free Whitening for Life' program". After my exam, I was told that I would have to pay an additional $180 for a "more thorough cleaning". They said that the coupon only covered a "basic cleaning". I told them that all I wanted was the basic cleaning and they said "it would be negligent on our part to just give you the basic cleaning when you need the more thorough cleaning". Furthermore, they refused to enroll me in the whitening program until I agreed to pay for the "more thorough cleaning". Beware of this bait-and-switch scam!

I spoke to the "office manager", a Ms Biviano, re having all my teeth extracted and being fitted for dentures, no problem!I went there and the dentist prattled on about soda/tooth decay etc, not the least bit interested in my problems.I walked out.Subsequently Ms Biviano called me and it turns out that Dentalworks will not extract healthy teeth. This is not what I was led to believe, and their advert in the Yellow Pages makes no mention of this proviso. They lied to me to get me in their office so as to promote more expensive care.Beware!

I went there to get some teeth pulled and a bridge. I was quoted by 3 different personnel there 271 for the extraction when I was in the chair before any work was done the assistant came in and said I was quoted incorrectly it was going to be 300 dollars more! In the chair! They didn't call to let me know that it was incorrectly quoted oh no they waited til I was in the chair! I got a bridge that was not even made for my mouth and they made a new temporary one that still I can't chew with and I have a lisp when I wear it! I wish I would have read these first!

Dental Works service

I had been going to dental works for years, had a couple of partials made there, no problem. Then I had to have the rest of my upper teeth pulled and get dentures. No one ever explained to me what was involved as far as wearing dentures would be like. It has been a nightmare! Doc and her helpers were soooooo very rude to me. No "bedside manners" what-so-ever". Needless to say I got my money back for the god awful dentures they tried to push on me. I would not recommend any one to get their dentures there. Go to a real dentist that really knows what they are doing. Shame on you dental works!

Dental Works negligent dentist

Dentist botched a root canal...grossly overfilled the root canal without informing me. Dentist also said that I needed work on 6 other teeth. Went to another dentist...she and the dental hygienist both agreed that none of these teeth needed work. When I tried to work with the company to come to some sort of resolution regarding these problems, I was made to feel like I was the bad guy and a liar. Please...Please...Please do not use Dental works. They are a scam operation and the quality of their work is appalling. I am in the process of reporting this company to the State Dental Board. Hopefully they can put a stop to this (what I consider) "criminal" activity.

Dental Works insurance fraud

My husband went there for partials and pulling teeth. They charged us and the insurance company. The insurance company paid more and they kept our $381 till we came in for other work and they said by the way we kept your money for a year. We are on disablility we needed that money. Then we went in to get his partial repaired charged us $175 and billed in the insurance $260 for something not covered . Double dipping again. They said he needed $670 worth of teeth cleaning mind you he is not a specialist in Peridontal work. Said it was not covered by the insurance. Yeah right he was going to take my huband s health at risk . My husband is diebetic and I called the insurance company they said oh yeah but you do not go to a Dentist. This needs to be billed through Medical not Dental . I guess these dentists think they are Medical Doctors Now.
We will go back for his partial but will never go there for anything else ITS A BIG SCAM INSURANCE FRAUD If you want a dentist go to a REAL DENTIS

Dental Works no show

I use DentalWorks for my families dental and orthodontist needs. The orthodontist we see is only in on Thursdays. My daughter had an appointment on Thursday at 11 am she showed up to the appointment and was told there was no appointment scheduled for her and that the orthodontist was not in so they rescheduled her for the following week. I myself was scheduled for Saturday for a cleaning and exam which happened to fall on a holiday (New Years Eve) I was the first appointment of the day 10 am the DentalWorks is located inside the Sears store so I went in and sat down and all the lights were off and no one was there. I thought maybe everyone was running late so I sat around for almost an hour no one ever showed up to work. I never received any phone calls canceling either one of these appointments and have both of the appointment cards that they gave to me as a reminder. I feel that this is very bad business and very unprofessional. It was a huge burden for me and my family and had I not shown up to either appointment without 24 hour advance canceling notice I would have been charged a no show fee. Will never return to this dentist.

Dental Works poorly run office!!!

This place has done nothing but cause me problems! They do NOT follow standard dental guidelines that insurances are looking to be followed. And when asked about it I was told that there is no such thing as "standard dental practices". Isn't that what a Dentist MUST know to become a dentist?! I am irate with how this business is run! Especially in the billing department. They never updated my address and continued to send bills to place where I have not lived in two years. Then they have the audacity to tell me that the bill is going into collections even after I told them I have not received a single bill. Then they resubmitted the claim to my insurance and never bothered to tell the billing company so I am still getting harassing calls over it when it's not even decided yet. DO NOT GO TO SEARS DENTAL/ DENTAL WORKS OF STERLING HEIGHTS (IN LAKESIDE MALL). They will screw you over. I have been dealing with this issue for almost 6 months now and I am completely fed up! Dental Works scam

I was a patient of the Charlotte, NC Eastway Dr office for several years due to the proximity to my residence. I too experienced the same gum disease scam that others have posted about, the same selling me products I didn't need and lastly charging for services that didn't take place. 2 weeks ago today, I called the office on Eastway Dr. in Charlotte, NC to inquire about any credits I may have on my account. This office always requires that you pay in advance of any services and in most every occasion, there was always a credit remaining on my account. Having not heard anything from my initial call to the office manager Keana, I called again to today and spoke to Ricky, who indicated there were no notes on the account and that she'd attempt to reach Keana, who was out of the office until Monday. I changed dentist because of the hard sell of products, the billing problems, the scheduling nightmares and now that I've changed dentist, I'm having to make multiple calls to get my money. My new dentist didn't seem to find the same problems that Dental Works did either. My advice would be to not visit Dental Works under any circumstances. The staff is constantly changing and you're treated as if your money is the only interest they have in you.

Dental Works price quotes raised for root canal

I went to Dentalworks for work on a broken tooth. I was charged over 300 dollars for a root canal Oct. 2010. I went back Feb. 2011 and it was supposed to be only 256 dollars and they said 518 dollars to start with, then they made like my tooth was deeply infected and I they would have to custom build a post before putting on the crown. The cost ended up being 537 dollars. I will not be returning for them to do anymore work on my teeth. They will cheat you out of your money and tell you one cost, then double it when you go for your appointment.

Dental Works unprofessional service

To make a long story short one of my wisdom teeth was infected. I had a vacation planned in the next week or so. Dental Works of Garfield Hts Ohio urged me to have all four pulled! I listened as I am not a Dr and thought they knew what was best. They assured me I would be healed and ready for my vacation. Well, I went to my appointment and filled out some paperwork. The orthadontist was Japanese or Chinese not sure- and could not enunciate his English well at all so the assistant had to relay everything to me. Okay, fine I could deal with that. So they give me the gas and pull all four teeth out. One of them gave him trouble and he worked on it longer than the others. He cleaned me up and sent me out to the receptionist area where I had to try to talk and pay for the visit! Why wasnt this done before hand? My head just got four giant teeth pulled out of it and the gas was still wearing off and my mouth was full of gauze and blood. How did they think I was supposed to communicate with anyone? So I pulled my credit card out and let them swipe it and signed some kind of form so I could get out of there as I could feel my face was swollen. I got out of the door and sat in my car for ten or twenty minutes. I was shakey and a bit out of it. They said I didnt need anyone to drive me. So I tried to pull it together and drove home. Now that I look back I probably should have called someone for a ride but then again I could not talk, only make noises! So a few days passed and everything seemed fine. Well, I get dry socket on the tooth that gave the Dr. trouble. Strangest pain. Extremely annoying too. I get antibiotics to clear it up and the pain was not gone nor was the prescription finished before I went on my vacation! Thanks! Still to this day I have problems with my ear on that side. I do not have a history of ear infections. I occasionally get shooting pains and it feels a bit heavy. Could that be nerve damage? I dont know I am not a Dr. Maybe its just a coincidence? I still will never ever recommend anyone to go to Dental Works for anything! My experience was unprofessional and unsafe!

Dental Works sent my money-can't contact company

I paid this company for a custom night guard. They did send me the kit to make the impressions, however I can't fit the plates in my mouth. I can't make any contact with the company as they are not taking phone calls and every e-mail I send comes back as undeliverable. I would just like a refund of my money at this time. Hopefully someone has an answer for my dilemma.

I was told to get a scan for an implant--had to go to another office to have this done---was $225.00 to scan upper left. Dentist said he needed this to do the implant. This scan was on Dec 1st-he said my bone matter was fine--I have called the office REPEATEDLY to set up my implant visit-{chapel hill office in akron, ohio-}-and no one has called me back on this? They said they would speak to Dr Chu and get back to me---I STILL WAIT! Also one day in past I had to wait over 3 hours for my appointment--i was not alone as my son and his step daughter were there waiting on me during these many hours----also I was given an appointment for the implant procedure but when I got there---they said there was no appointment --what is going on at this office? .

This company has no way to contact them! The email on the website doesn't work. A phone number I found online leads to a message that says to contact them by the same nonfunctioning email address. I ordered a product two weeks ago and have recieved nothing!

We received the night guard finally about 2 weeks ago..thankfully it fit and my husband is happy. I think you have to be patient with this company, not sure how they can keep going with the way they run their business. Unfortunately I now need a night guard and don't know what to do, deal with them again or go somewhere else?

We prepaid and sent in an impression one month ago. Nothing has been received from them since then, they are unreachable by telephone, and I've sent three e-mails to support@precisiondentalworks.com which did not "bounce, " but I've received no replies to any of them.
Next step is U.S. Mail Fraud complaint.

I am going through the same thing now. I sent the imprints back the end of Dec and they have yet to come. It's very frustrating to get every email sent back and no response to the messages. I've recently seen a lot of complaints but didn't see them prior to me ordering.

Dental Works - scam!!! deep cleaning

Ok, i'll admit it, I skipped going to the dentist for many years. So I made an appointment to go see dentalworks at their new location in durham, nc at southpoint. I was lured in by the promise of "free whitening for life". I should have thought something was amiss when I made the appointment and they wanted to charge $120 for just the exam — no cleaning...

Dental Works high prices

These people are very greedy and overcharge for everything! I had one xray and it costs $82.00 and a 10 minute filling was $219.00. They are doing nothing in these hard economic times to hold medical costs down. Shame on them!

It people like you who cant accept responsibility that complain about the usual and customary cost of dentistry. Get Real!

Dental Works high prices

I recently went to Dental Works for a toothache. The dentist took one xray and sent me to an endodontist for a root canal. Well that xray cost me 82.00. I returned to have the temporary filling replaced and was hit for another $219.00. It took him about 10 minutes. These people are very very greedy and are doing nothing to hold down dental costs in these bad economic times. Shame on them!

Dental Works bad experience

I had gotten my braces put on in 2007 and was told it would be 1-2 years to be taken off, its going on 3 years and next thing the way these people are workig it'll be 4 if I allow it. The orthodontist that practiced there before was so GREEDY he overbooked people literally 3-4 people at the same time. I would ALWAYS book ahead of time and would make it to my appointments early and would not leave there until almost 2 hours after my appointment. So one day that the system was "down" I wasn't able to book past September. Well in Sept of 09 I had to cancel my appointment for the first time in 2 years becuase I went into labor early. My next appointment was not scheduled after that until November. After November because of the holidays and vacations scheduling around the greedy ortho my next appointment wasn't avail until Feb. I couldnt schedule March because they weren't allowed to schedule March... then after Feb until April and then originally until June. I submitted a feedback. The response was good. They opened up a new day. I scheduled for that day, well I called to confirm my appointment a day before, and turns out that no my appointment wasn't until the next week. So I wasn't able to make it. But I could have sworn it was the day after I made the call unless my blackberry's calendar was changing dates on me. So then I asked the girl to verify time and date for the appointment in June. FYI I dont schedule before 3:30 pm since I get off of work at that time. The girl confirmed 5pm. Today was my June appointment, suddenly it was magically changed to 2 pm. Rescheduling after 4pm until August. I really don't mind paying another [protected] dollars now if I had known all this would happen. I honestly don't know how these people are even in business, must be low cost and overbooking...

Dental Works filling fell out

I submited a letter to you about my filling falling out about an hour ago. I am submiting you another letter concerning this matter. I went to dentalworks on September 18, 2008. I am now in hardship. Some of the work was not completed. The dentist were helpful in starting the work. I was unable to get money to complete the work that needed to be done and to replace the filling that fell out. At dentalworks the service was good. In the last letter I submited to you, I said it was bad. I thoufgt I was able to pay on my account. Then I was out of work for awhile and my spousal support stop. My bill was $596.00 at that time now my bill is $764.45. I feel that I should not have to pay for work that was not finish. I went to another dentist name Dr. Joseph Lonardo. He said that was never completed and that they charge to much money for the work. Here is his address Biddulph Dental Center 4647 Ridge Rd, Brooklyn, OH 44144 or Email: [protected]@yahoo.com. I wrote a letter to disputes department and I have not heard from them on September 11, 2009. phone for the dentist is [protected]. I will submit this letter to Richard Cordray Ohio attoney General or Better Buisness Bureau if I do not heard nothing from you.

Dental Works failed dental work causing major treatment and surgeries

Hi There...I found your web site very informative and helpful...As I too, am a victim of failed dental work which has/still causing me extensive treatments and surgeries because of this Dentist many mistakes. Other Dentist are shocked at the work he did and have commented it's nothing less than abuse.
I'm in the process of getting reimbursed for all the work needed to correct his mistakes and still need. I was told by this Dentist that they will reimburse me for all the work needed to correct everything. However, this was almost a year ago and I'm not so sure that it's as easy as that.
I'm trying to find a sample letter to include with all my information supporting my claims (files and files). I've kept everything and have it ready to go. Now, I'm having trouble figuring out what to write as far as asking for the reimbursement. I'm at a stand still and not sure how to proceed. I am including a copy of the letter I sent to my ins co. which goes into great detail of the problems I've had and all the treatments, surgeries I've went through and still must go through.
I just now need to write a letter requesting the reimbursement and what ever is needed. I'm hoping you can steer me in the right direction, as to what I should write. Or even a sample letter or template would be great.
I've worked very hard at getting all the info and everything together to send but can't go any further until I get this other letter done. I would appreciate any help you could give me.
Thanks so much and have a fantastic day!
Sincerely,
Tammy* Hazen

Dental Works - bad service

DenatlWorks, 226 Crossroads Blvd., Cary, NC 27511 This chain claims to have lower prices on various dental treatments, which indeed it has. However, it seems they recommend deep cleaning to people who do not require it. I went there in April 2006, after a few years of not going to the dentist, and they told me that my teeth need deep cleaning (~$600). I...
