Denied checks!
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 8 votes
Company information:
Certegy Check Services
Fort Calhoun, Nebraska
United States

My parents all of a sudden started having checks declined by Certegy Check Services. It has happened four times in less than two weeks at Home Depot, Best Buy, Kmart and Sears. We tried calling Certegy and got the run around the first two times. The third time I spoke to a supervisor but who could not tell us why this was happening, told us it was rare and said they had been authorizing checks previously. This is just wrong. State attorney generals need to be notified... we are going to! If a bank denies you a loan, checking account, etc they have to tell you exactly what the problem is so how can Certegy do this. Please everyone contact the businesses using this company and file complaints! They think they are immune to the little guy but lots of little guys add up to quite a force. Maybe we need to boycott the stores using this company until something is done!

I am a fomer employee who took calls at a call center for certegy. I read from a script why check were declined. No one not even the manager knows why check are being declined. Some people i know well has $15 dollars in the bank will be decline for say at a walgreens trying to buy medecine. It is sad because five minutes later i'll take a call from someone declined at a best buy. In this case this individual hasn't written a check until two day ago within the last thirteen months. This person has wrote over $3000.oo for checks to Staples, Circuit City, and Best Buy. This is obviously fraud. The fraudent case is just as common as a an 81 year old lady geeting declined for no reason. I'm under the impression that Certegy allows fraudulent activity to keep merchants, to have info to show them that they are needed to help prevent losses for the merchants. The truth is innocent individuals who have money in the bank are being robbed from the right to use a form of payment. Merchants shouldn't accept checks at all, rather than embarrisng customer with this flawed system. I worked there for a year and have serveral case similar to this. I feel that a class action suit should be brought against this Gustapo like company.

I have just been contacted by Certegy and was told someone wrote, what appeared to be, a fraudulant check to a merchant using my company name, which by the way was incorrect, an incorrect bank routing number as well as the account number. They also used my personal home address on the check, not the actual business address.

I am now being told, by Certegy, that I must complete their claim form which asks every piece of personal information about me, my business as well as wanting a copy of my driveres license, all bank account numbers along with any passwords etc... Do I look like an idiot? Giving that kind of info is an open door for someone to really commit identity theft,

If I don't complete the form, their fine print says they will have me on a list that could deny me check writing privileges with their merchants as well as cause me great embarrassment.

I am in the mood to be part of a class action law suit against these people, so if one has been started, I would like to be included and if not, anyone who would like to communicate with me regarding their problems with certegy, please email me at mkmmarketing@yahoo.com
