I've applied for a cash advance with to different companies, today my account was debited for 31.98. This was done without my permission. They put you online with a live person to discuss the transaction, and tell you to go to this website to apply for a refund.
They even gave me a confirmation number stating that the service would be canceled. How can they do this and no one can get them for this action.

They did the same thing to me. I asked the same question. I went online and asked for the ACH withdrawals to be stopped. I was given a confirmation number, but that didn't help the three times they did take out of my checking and my overdraft fees. I filed the proper refund form with them and should have gotten an email. I didn't, so I went back on this same "chat line" and was told that my claim for refund had been denied because it wasn't fraudulent. I told them this cannot be. How could I sign up for them to take something out of my checking account without knowing it. Anyway, what I did was contact the Office of Consumer Affairs for my state and filed a complaint with them. At least they will look into it and maybe stop this from happening to anyone else.

When calling in re: to the 31.95 subtraction from my account that was not authorized by me, the first question was, "what is your SS#?" from the operator on the other end!! I said, "no way am I giving you my # when I don't even know who you are!" This is not the first time this has happend to me when innocently applying for ? online. How can these unauthorized charges be stopped???? I don't even want to get on the internet for anything now, it's a paradise for scamming innocent people,
especially new users like myself.
