CVS price gouging

Please read all the way through. This might be a long post but the facts are important. CVS -Caremark is guilty of price gouging. This is especially true for those of us who do not have Prescription coverage. Look at these numbers. CVS charges $59.85 for 10 (ten) Buphenorphine 8 mg tablets. CVS charges $70.00 for a "Z-Pack". CVS charges $39.00 for 30 (thirty) Sertraline 100 mg tablets. I happened to receive a postcard from a new pharmacy that opened in my area. So I thought I would give them a call to check their prices. What I found out is astonishing...
First the Buphenorphine. CVS charged $59.85 for ten 8 mg tabs, new pharmacy charged $47.00 for 20 (TWENTY) 8 mg tabs! Twice as much for less money! Then the Z pack. I paid $70 for at CVS. New pharmacy charges $15! Then the Sertraline. I was paying $39 for 30 tablets from CVS. New pharmacy charges $6!

The owner of the new store assured me that he is making a profit. Of course he is! We expect him to, he is in business! He's still turning a profit but look at CVS and how they are taking such advantage of customers without insurance! Even those with insurance run into trouble! Last year they charged me $115 for an Rx for my mother who has MediCare. I asked are you sure you put it through the insurance? Yes, yes I'm sure. That is the co-pay because it is a Tier Three drug blah blah blah. My mom needed the medication, so I, of course, paid the money. Then I called Medicare about two weeks later to find out why the drug was so expensive. They told me the drug is covered with a $7 co-pay and that no claim was ever submitted for the last Rx that I paid for. Oh and by the way, just to be clear, It was NOT a Tier Three Medication. The CVS white coat was just making up BS to get me to pay him and shorten the line! I hate typing in all caps so pretend this is bold, OK? >> If you are a CVS customer with or without Rx Coverage I urge you to shop the Rx around!

You are right, the true definition of "price gouging" is raising a price following a sudden demand. Your suggestion that I shop elsewhere is well taken. In fact, it was the entire point of my original post. I have found much lower prices and no longer use CVS Pharmacy for my prescription needs. My point was to present actual evidence that the store is taking advantage of the high number of uninsured Americans. Maybe that's not "gouging" by dictionary definition, but it's surely an unfair practice born of corporate greed. Thank tou for your comment.

Businesses are entitled to set their prices however they wish. Consumers are entitled to purchase where ever they wish.

There is no "actual evidence" in your complaint beyond this basic concept of what a free market is.

I don't think you understand what price gouging actually means. Go to another store if you find their prices better.

CVS price gouging

I just posted this on their facebook page but doubt they will let the public see it. ""your people in shreveport are either crooks, idiots or lying, don't know which, but they have cheated my brother on these meds for two years! I have filed complaint with the lousiana board of pharmacy. "my brother has been using cvs on youree drive in shreveport for about two years, every month getting his script for losartan filled and paying $79. 02 each time. In december, for no particular reason he took his script to drug emporium, gave them all the same insurance information and they filled his script for $8. 43. Same script, same meds, same insurance. I called cvs and asked them about it. They said they "didn't have" his insurance on file. (I can assure you my brother did give him all his insurance info - they either didn't enter it, or entered it incorrectly) . So if you use this pharmacy, you might want to check around and see if you can get your meds cheaper somewhere else. It's hard for me to believe that a reputable company with any kind of mediocre staff would not be at least curious as to why an 85 year old man wasn't using insurance. Even the worst customer service would require them to at least ask about his insurance when month after month he got the same drugs there at this high price. But the people there were very rude when asked these questions. Just saying, you really have to look out for yourself these days. "

I have been filling my prescription at the CVS pharmacy in Rockville Centre, NY for several years. The price for a 30 day supply of 225 mg generic Effexor, (Venlafaxine) $ 250.00 has remained exactly the same during this period (4 years). The the manufacturer listed on the bottle is OSMOTICA. When I called to refill my prescription this month the pharmacist informed me that CVS no longer carried OSMOTICA (he told me OSMOTICA stopped making this medication) and as a result, they were dispensing the generic Effexor by a new manufacturer (UCB) and that the price for a 30 day supply of 225 mg Venlafaxine would cost now cost me $372.11. Excuse me? With no alternative at the moment I filled only 15 tablets. I got home and realized that the new pill is identical to the old - Same exact markings. I go online and learn that: July 1, 2015 WILMINGTON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--October Osmotica Pharmaceutical Corp. is announcing that Venlafaxine Extended-Release Tablets, 37.5 mg, 75 mg, 150 mg, and 225 mg, which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in May, is now commercially available through its marketing partner, Upstate Pharma, LLC, a subsidiary of UCB, Inc. Why did the pharmacist lie to me? I don't know, but I intend to get to the bottom of this outrageously blatant example of price gouging by CVS!

CVS sick and tired of being sick and tired of a pharmacist

I have recently ran into a problem with one of your employers. I feel as if this is a racial matter. I have not had an issue with anyone else on your staff. Unfortunately this gentleman goes out of his way at times to give me problems when it comes to filling my prescription. And the reasons he has shared with me make no since what so ever, for example . He says I'm the only person who can call my medicine in. Which is not true. He said my grandmother and wife are no longer allowed to call it in. He has made threats saying he will no longer fill my prescription and I will have to find another location, if I kept calling at my convince to get my prescription filled. So what do I do to solve this problem since I've been a loyal customer for over three and a half years with the same prescription, to solve this inconvenient situation. I've called asking to speak with a different manager he refuses, and to give his name . I've lost time from work, along with being reprimanded by my employers for simply trying to have my medication filled. Will somebody please help I really don't want to have to go back to Wallgreens. Thank you for taking the time to read.

Try an independent. I've worked at several chains, it's much the same not enough help and loads to do. At independents you can speak with the CEO! Most understand importance of customer loyalty and there are still some out there not playing the pricing game which many pharmacies follow walmart, sure you can get a cheap $4 but somebody is paying the difference and next antibiotic it may be you, a nice cost plus certain dollar amount comes out fair for both parties, cvs, Walgreens, Walmart, etc play that system heavily and force it on pharmacies through their PBMs. Just don't support it, and heck just maybe the CEO will show up and do business with you- think that will happen with cvs?

There pharmacists just don't care about any form of customer service. And that being nice. There is one old pharmacist in Millbrae, CA which is just a loser. He go out of his way to be rude to every one.
I just had enough and going to switch to Walgreens.

CVS Cutting hours to hard working pharmacists and their techs

The company has recently slashed the hours of the pharmacists and there techs at the store. This is what is wrong with corporate America today the economy is starting to bounce back the stores stocks are as high as ever. So what do they do they decide to take hours and money away from people that need it the most. The hard working pharmacist and tech who sometimes never get a chance to eat or take a break. cvs should be ashamed of itself and I as a consumer will probably never step inside the store again. Great job CVS. Take way from the people that make you the billions of dollars

CVS verbal abuse and brute force

Today 12/21/2014 was the worst experience I have ever had in my entire 24 years of life. I am a single mother full time student and after school counselor I often am doing too many things at a time. during my usual craziness I misplaced a few thing and was on the way to pic up my daughter and I walked out CVS located at 129 Fulton street. I was apprehended by security with brute force. Although I was complying and told him that I was in pain he continued to pin my arm in a way that caused me pain. The whole way in the store and to the basement I informed him I was in pain and he ignored me. This security didn't want to hear anything I had t say and continued to verbally abuse me. I told him that I wished to speak to my dad who was a cop or my lawyer he took my phone so I couldn't do so. he made me sign a paper and wouldn't give me a copy of it although I asked multiple times. I then called the cops because I wanted to file a complaint or press charges they tole me it was best if I left it alone or I would be going to jail. I can not be labeled a shop lifter a banned from CVS I will not take this sitting down. Or atleast that security needs some kind of punishment he cant talk to people with destain and disrespect or verbally abuse them no matter what he thinks of them.

CVS pharmacy staff

After reading all of the other complaints (700+) and seeing that none have been replied to or resolved, i feel like writing this is point less. But I have to speak my peace... The pharmacy staff, on numerous occasions, are RUDE! Why is that? And why do many of the complaints say the same thing? Corporate, you need to do something about this frequent problem! Its unnecessary and should be addressed!

CVS pharmacy service

I am purposely listing a town that is near a couple CVS pharmacy stores out of fear of retribution. I am a nurse who does pharmaceutical research. Do I know my drugs. I am treated poorly by the pharmacy staff. They are nasty and unhelpful. They act like the customer is a constant annoyance. They don't listen to he customer especially the pharmacy techs Sk they get things wrong. I am short changed pills and made to believe I have the correct number but am out of meds before I can refill even though I am taking the correct dose. This is dangerous and could result in a malpractice suit.

They are nasty and don't listen to their patients. You are so busy ending smoking you might want to fix your pharmacy staff. I am leaving CVS for another pharmacy.

The CVS my mom USED to use couldn't get normally prescribed drugs in under 1 week. Great track record. I will be talking to my family attorney because this has been an ongoing problem. Your temp/ fi in pharmacists by the way are nastier than your regular pharmacists.

Letting someone suffer in pain seems to be the "norm" these days, especially in Florida. It is cruel and totally unnecessary as pain meds were developed for PAIN. The whole situation makes me sick. I suffer everyday with chronic pain, unable to find pharmacy that has medication in stock or simply refuses to fill. Yet I hear of people filling prescriptions for controlled substances at same pharmacys that denied mine and I have come to the conclusion that they fill these rxs for CASH vs accepting my medicare insurance. Shameful. And Florida attorney general thinks shes got prescription drug abuse under control? Give me a break.

While I understand the concern with your wife's pain. As of October 1st or 31st 2014, All schedule 2 Narcotics cannot be called into pharmacy. Either written or electronic prescriptions are required. I am surprised the doctor was not aware of that. CVS should have called the doctor though and asked him to send a written or electronic prescription in. Letting anyone suffer through unnecessary pain and suffering is morally wrong. Just my thoughts

CVS 3 times rip off

I have been going to this cvs since they have opened. I am not sure what is going on with this cvs, but on three different occasions at check out, I was being charge two times more than I was suppose to. Two times I was stupid and did not check the receipt until I arrived back at the house. Once was buying personal items as in shampoo and conditioner. I did not check to see whqat I was charged, like I said I have been dealing with this particular cvs since day one, the second was halloween candy that was on sale and I was charged $11.00 for a 3lb bag of chocolates, I corrected this charge in the store, the third again not until I arrived back at the house, for a twelve pack of pepsi and a container of cashews I was charge $19.55 and the nuts were on sale for $6.99. Why is it that people cant get it right. This is not the first company I have heard of that does not update their computer system of their ups's and it scans wrong. Why is it that I have to spend $100.00 more a month for items that should not be priced high due to a company not doing their jobs to update their system. Cvs doesnt care about their customers and never have its a convient place to run into being they are located next to the grocery store. I have been shopping at cvs's all around since they have open and I have never come across a cvs like this one, just because they stop selling cigarettes doesnt mean they need to rob from their customers to make their quote for the year. The true fact is that they lost their license to sell cigarettes and now are acting like they care of our health and this is why they are not selling cigarettes any longer, not true! If you need something, I suggest you put the extra effort into going to another store for your personal items, soda and nuts before you end up spending an extra $100.00 to put into their quota pocket, why be taken advantage of from a company? Theres no need and as consumers to have to fork the bill due to they lost their cigarette license and are ready to fall on hard times and loose the cvs store in general. I fell on hard times due to breast cancer and you do not see me taking advantage of others because I fell on hard times. What gives them the right to take advantage of us! Please take your business to another store, thank you, jean. Usually I pay attention to my receipts,, please check your receipts even if you know them!

Third time within 2 months I have bought a Pepsi Max from their front cooler and it has been expired. The last 2 times I have taken the product back but this time I called and the cashier acted like I was lying and said to me "well just bring it back" . They need to be more aware of expiration dates on their products. This one has been expired for 4 months.

CVS prices

I was buying my prescription drugs here for the past few years now and they was overcharge at anytime they wants too.
I had a same prescription drug and they charge from $23.99 at one time and $305.13 to another time (in about 3 months)...and also some of other prescription over $100 dollars different.
Some other times, they charge me cash and also claimed with my Insurance.

When I asked, they said that it was depend on the Insurance coverage...but in fact, nothing was changed in my coverage with my Insurance.
I think something wrong with this Pharmacy here and I how wonder how much money do they make with a couple of 100% marked up for the prices to the consumers.

sale starts on sunday i arrived at 730 am as soon as store opened the 3rd person to enter store. in this weeks circular there was licensed flipeez hats disney elsa for the price of $19.00 the store clerk could not find them she called the manager on the phone to inquire about them he told her to tell me they were sold out. instead of him coming out to talk to me personally. also how could they be sold out if the sale just started today and i was the 3rd person in the store.and the only one inquiring about the hats. some thing is wrong with this picture. could it be that when something is on sale that employees and management take the items instead of them being available for sale on the date the sale is suppose to take place.this is not the first time this has happen at this store.

CVS refusing to fill prescriptions after getting called by the la pharmacy board

Ive filled four complaints against the pharmacy in general. The last complaint which was made because the main pharmacist in charge was on vacation so, of course there was another "temp pharmacist". I came in 1 day before my refill was due and as the pharmacy technician like always has to ask the pharmacist "temp" at this moment and its a c2 controlled substance. I know that they have the medicine in stock but after the temp pharmacist looked at my prescription, without even looking by checking the safe where the regular full pharmacist has to go to fill it. He bluntly lied to my face and informed me that he didn't have that prescription in stock and like the majority of pharmacist assumed i'm some drug seeking addict. . But, anyways i first informed him that sir, you do i fact have it in stock as the main pharmacist keeps it in stock as i get it filled every month. I then continued to direct him to please actually open the safe under you and actually look. Guess what. . . ? He has it! Go figured right. Then, as i'm still standing there with people other customers behinde me, he looks at my prescription and looks at the bottle of medicine that he said he did t have then looked at me and loudly asked from the middle of the pharmacy area " what are you getting treated for?" he did not ask me to come to the consultant desk and i was already embarrassed by the way he was treating me then i had to loudly answer back where everyone else in line and also picking up their rx in another line could hear and know all of my medical problems and personal health and private information. After i told him what i was getting treated for he finally filled the rx. . Of course i had to wait over 30 minutes as i'm sure he wanted to verify the rx whih is totally fine with me and should have either done that in the first place and or ask to see me at the consultation desk and ask me what i'm getting treated for. I'll never forget this and nener forgive cvs for this. . Tim the temp pharmacist was in the wrong, violated my
Hippa rights, and treated me unjustly. After i left i was mortified, embarrassed, depressed that i had to go through this. I looked up if there was anything i could do and i got advice from pharmacist steve stating to file a complaint regarding cvs ciolsting my hippa rights and also i filled s complaint with the louisiana board of pharmacy. Well, after cvs got a call from a compliance officer and spoke to the main pharmacist jessica. . . I got an email from the compliance officer stating he spoke to jessica and asked her to cal me and try to resolve the issue. About an hour later i do get s call, but jessica just says she no longer feels comfortable filling any of my prescriptions.

I will continue to tell my story regarding i was treated, labeled, and punished for filling s complaint. The point of complaints is to be able to provide feedback and the store or company to better themselves and their customer service. . But, now i have to drive about over an hour round trip to get my prescriptions now. Lawyers tell me that it would cost me more money to possibly just slap them with a fine. The compliance officer and to the companies that i have submitted s legit complaint did nothing to help the consumer.

I hope that and know i'm not the only one out there and i pray and hope that something can get done to this pharmacist and temp pharmacist along with cvs.

Thanks for your time in reading this

Sincerely,
Ronnie m

What the hell is going on?
This is wrong on so many levels.
I to, was humiliated by two CVS pharmacists.
One takes the prescription to another pharmacist. They stare at you and talk to each other then point at me.
It is all done on purpose.
GROW up and mind your own business and stoop playing doctor.
OUR medical conditions are seriously, NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.
You are there to count pills. They is what 8 years of med school got you.
Stop taking your anger for your pill-counting job on people who have chronic illnesses.
You suck and we are all being thrown into the same pot.
One day it will be your turn because KARMA knows everyone's address.

I had to wait over 30 minutes for a prescription that was already supposed to be filled. Once I got home with my medication I realized that I was given the wrong medication. The description on the bottle does not match the pills in the bottle. The correct pills are 1/4 the size and they have different numbers printed on them. I have had this happen at thing particular location more than once. Double check your Meds.! They should be shut down.

This company shipped two different orders to wrong addresses twice. One time my medication was delayed by two weeks. When it arrived, they had shipped the wrong dose. The next time it was not only delayed, but it ended up at a stranger's address and there was a breach of confidentiality. The "services" provided by this company are unacceptable.

I have working at CVS Pharmacy for 5 years and I am one of their managers. When I take my lunch, I have to continue to take care of the customer service calls while I'm on lunch. I think thats against the law!

I have bought BM9280 (Bell phone) phone from CVS/pharmacy, Dumont New Jersey. There was $10 rebate on this item. It has been more than seven (7) months but I did not get my rebate check. There is also phone no on rebate slip [protected]). I have called them several times but they said they over sold that product.

People beware!

Thanks.

I totally agree with your complaint. At least you were able to fill your rx. I am not so fortunate in florida as its almost impossible to fill prescriptions for narcotic pain meds. I spend most days in bed unable to function and walk without medication.

This happened to me on 11/12/14. I went to drop my oxycodone off as I have for years at cvs and the pharmacist asked me what I was being treated for! I was flabbergasted and usually am not at a loss for words could only say it was none of her business. She then told me she was just curious. I still am amazed at the gall of this woman. This was not the first time I've had issues with cvs but it was the worst and the last. My Humana statement from October of this year shows they have paid out 38, 876 for the first 10 months of the year. I have 2 very serious life threatening diseases one which is slowly taking my ability to walk. I do not need some pharmacist trying to put themselves above my trusted doctors or inserting themselves in my medical treatment. They are there to fill the orders of our doctors and tell you of possible interactions of medications. Not treat customers (not patients) like they are drug seekers.

you do realize that alot of the time the size, shape, color or numbers of the medication suddenly changes due to a new company making the medication or other reasons. they should of told you this or there should of been a sticker on the bottle stating that. dont know what the case it but thought id give my input since i found this review after googling something.

Consider yourself fortunate enough that you checked your medicine. Did you hear about thge lady in CO last month that was given the wrong medicine by Safeway pharmacy? She is pregnant, and not that far along. The pharmacist gave her Methotrexate, which is a cancer drug, and is also used for early term abortions! It acts on the fetus by stopping fetal development. When she realised that she did in fact swallow this drug she immediately called her doctor and they sent an ambulance for her right away. He stomach was pumped, and the doctors wont know until the baby is born(like another 7 or 8 months) if it is going to be okay. So, due to the carelessness of a pharmacist, this lady could lose her baby, or it will be ###ed in some way. Safeways only comment was that they would pay for her medical expenses for this incident. I seriously hope that she gets a good lawer and sues the ### out of them. I check all my medicines now, and the pharmacy did screw up at least 2 times that I can remember.

CVS Excessive wait time, not having the flu medicine available even though advertising that it was available

I had tried in October for the entire month to get the Flu shot that was supposed to be available. Always some excuse as to why I could not at that time get the shot. I got the flu on November 8, 2014. I was doing a neighbor a favor by taking her to pick a Rx. It was not ready, then she was handed the wrong RX and finally after 45 minutes she was able to procure her Rx and walk out the door. 45 minutes to pickup 1 Rx. This is unacceptable and this is not the only time the wait is up to 20 minutes or more. Maybe CVS Corporation should hire more competent customer service people. In January I will be transferring all of my Rx's to another Pharmacy. I know I am only one person, but I am not the only customer upset by the slowness, inept service.

CVS these [censor] tried to steal from me

This company CVS Card Savings tried to steal from me, but the rep from the bank called me and informed that they stopped the thief. Also I haven’t money on the account, so they couldn’t charge me. I wanted only to warn other people not to use this horrible company and post comments about your things with them. It might be very helpful info. Thanks.

CVS 10 pills short on prescribed amount

I had three medications filled on 9/23/2014 with one of them being Oxycodone/Acetaminophen 10/325 Qty: 30. When I picked these up they put the 3 prescriptions in a plastic bag and handed them to me. II didn't inspect them individually so I had no idea the Oxycodone was short before leaving the pharmacy. Since I didn't need any of these meds right away, they sat stapled in their bags and inside t plastic bag in my bedroom for about 27 hours. When I opened the paper bags the following evening on 9/24/2014 I noticed the bottle of Oxycodone was too light to have 30 pills. I opened the bottle and counted 20 pills. I counted 3 more times... I was astonished to find such a mistake from the pharmacy. This was my first time filling this med there so I was thinking is it possible that this pharmacy has a serious problem going on with narcotics? So I automatically called and spoke directly to the pharmacist (Syed A Arshad) who filled it the previous day. He bluntly said "no you're wrong" and "I put 30 in there." I told him no I am clearly counting 20 right in front of me and I am just opening the bottle for the first time. Of course, I didn't expect anything to get anywhere with the conversation because of the negative preconceptions people have on any patient who is prescribed narcotic pain relievers. I told him to check the count in stock to be sure nobody stole them in the pharmacy and he refused stating again that he gave me 30. I just simply let him know that it will be handled properly and I will be sure of it. After hanging up I went t the police department to file a report. They will be paying them a visit tomorrow. I was also sure to let the officer know that I am not trying to get the missing 10 pills that belong to me, that I will most likely need, but am just wanting to be sure nothing illegal is going on at that pharmacy. I understand in the situation that I can't expect the pills I am owed. Isn't that enough to prove my honesty? Pharmacies do make mistakes. I have had the wrong label put on the wrong prescription before, and shorted pills from other medication which of course, was simple to get what I was shorted. I really do hope this is just a mistake on the part of the pharmacist and not illegal activity going on. Too bad mistakes like this happen at all... there is no room for this. Disappointed...

CVS manager mistreating a kid

Manager inappropriately told a child not to try a color of a crayon in a space full of colors (like a trying space, or testing space)
Did not apologized and was rude when I pointed out that the colors in that space were misleading (looked like the space was there for that purpose)
The manager named: montie continued talking without listening to my explanation as a customer. raising his voice at me (the customer)
I had over 200 in merchandise ready to pay. of course I left and didn't buy anything.
I can only imagine how he treats the employees if he treats a client with such a disrespect.

CVS horrible

CVS Caremark mail order pharmacy is not a pharmacy you want to use if you value your life and want to keep your sanity! I have dealt with them for several years and the service keeps getting worse on a daily bases. A few years ago my doctor changed one of my prescriptions and CVS specialty called me to renew the old prescription and I told them I didn’t need it and why. Five minutes later, they called the person listed as power of attorney and told them I had refused to refill a prescription and wanted their permission to refill it. The nerve of these folks but there is a lot more!
On their website they claim “At CVS Caremark we work hard to make sure your prescription benefits work for you. We want you to stay healthy.” I generally take generics except for one and the generic does not work for me. They claim they are exactly the same but they are not. Generics are allowed a 10% variance in the active ingredient. The doctor in this case wrote the prescription and wrote “dispense name brand only.” Those lying ### called the doctor behind my back after I wrote on the mail-order form that I would not accept generic and told the doctor that my insurance would not pay for name brand. That took me three weeks for me to get that straighten out and it was not because of the insurance company or the doctor.

Now the wonderful care that CVS Caremark goes on. I mailed in a prescription for an important medication that you are not supposed to skip taking. They claim there was a billing issue so they CANCELED the prescription. Yes I said “CANCELLED”. Not a phone call or anything. I went to their website to check on the status to find out this information. So, I called them yesterday 7/30/2014, got the billing issue /mistake straightened out and they said they would process the new prescription and send it out ASAP. After looking at their website today nothing had changed. So I called again and they said they had mailed the prescription back to me so there is no prescription to process. I have not received it and I am out of the medication.

Does these actions look like they want you to stay healthy? I have to go here due to my Blue Cross insurance requires me to go through them. I will be looking to change insurance. Meanwhile I have to take off of work, go back to the doctor and get a new prescription and wait three weeks before I can start taking it again. That is how long it take to get a prescription processed through them. It is no wonder that CVS Caremark is not BBB Accredited.

CVS dispensed incorrect amount of medication

Pharmacy Location:
CVS Pharmacy, Store #9944
3081 Stevens Creek Blvd
Santa Clara, CA 95050

Pharmacy dispensed incorrect amount of medication. I have been on the same meds for 4 years and never have received the incorrect amount. I tried a different CVS Pharmacy location because they carry a specific manufacturer of my medication. This same location shorted me 45 pills. I have contacted my doctor and she advised to fill out a police incident report because CVS refused to do anything. She also suggested I file a complaint with the CA Dept of Consumer Affairs, Pharmacy Board. Later that night, after picking up medication from CVS, I actually had to go to the ER because of a (separate) medical reason. I accidentally cut my leg and had to get stitches. I didn't check my medication from CVS until 7/17/2014 because I couldn't take it with the medication for my laceration. When I realized that the quantity was incorrect (supposed to be 90 count), I immediately notified my doctor, my insurance company, and CVS. I have filed an Incident Report with the City of San Jose Police Department, as well as with the California Department of Consumer Affairs Pharmacy Board. CVS seems to not want to take responsibility for their mistake but CVS as a company has many complaints similar to mine. This is unacceptable.

CVS prescription shortage - critical to stop life threatening seizures

Shortage of phenobarbital required to stop life threatening seizures. of course this is a controlled substance, so early refills are not allowed. my last pick-up was june 22, 2014 for a 30 day supply. I called in the next refill on july 18, 2014 for pick-up on july 19th. I was told that I could not pick-up the refill until july 22nd (30 days from previous). guess what, I do not have enough pills left to make it to july 22nd. was I shorted? I believe that I was. also, the pharmacy tech was rude about this when I complained about it. needless to say, I have fired cvs forever and moved all of my prescriptions, not just this one, to walgreens. I will also be counting all of my meds before I leave the store from now on. this will never happen to me again. amazing how you cannot trust anyone anymore. if cvs would enforce some random drug tests on these people, they could probably find out who the culprit is.

What did he do to you? How can you have any conflict? You pick out what you want, pay for it, and he says, " Thank You, Have a Nice Day". What other transactions are you having with this guy?

CVS shorted a prescription

I had a refill on my pain medicine, when they refilled it I noticed that the bottle was a lot smaller than usual, a couple of days later I decided to count it. There was only 28 pills in it, and the prescription was for 150 so I knew that I hadn't taken 122 pills in a few days. So my husband went there and they said there was no way the 150 pills had been in that bottle because they would not have fit. And finally admitted that they only had given me 50 pills instead of 150. They did give me the other 100 but sounds like someone had made a terrible mistake or someone is shorting people on purpose, I don't know. I would never accuse anyone of any wrong doing but I think everyone should count their pills after they pick them up. I know I will from now on.
