Please investigate the telephone company, Custom Teleconnect as well as ZPDI. I believe they are operating under fraudulent practices and are possibly partners in a scheme.
Custom Teleconnect apparently has control over various phone system areas that services the “collect call” market. ZPDI does their “billing”. They are stealing people’s hard earned money by billing them for “attempted”, collect calls that were not accepted. It then becomes the customer’s responsibility to get the charges dismissed. Meanwhile, the phone company requires payment to continue services until the matter is resolved. It should not function in that manner. The call should first be accepted formally by the receiver then charges should follow. I am not going to waste my time listening to their menu of options, to push a specific button of their choosing to appease them.
Phone numbers are able to be blocked but there is only a limited amount of numbers that one can block on their own phone. Institutions such as jails can be blocked but I am not sure about them blocking whole city or regional areas. Even so, I should not have to block off a whole area to prevent unwanted calls from one person. I should be able to leave my lines of communication open, for that one emergency collect call that I might have to accept.
This company is preying on all the busy hardworking people in hopes they do not monitor their bills. Practices such as this are unethical and the company should be reprimanded and forced to change their policy. I am sure technology is such, that an accepted collect call can be categorized in a different manner than one that is not accepted.
