I had eye surgery for cataracts my doctor recommended to have a Crystalens implant put in my left eye. Since the surgery I can not see clearly. Everything I see is double. My doctor told me he can't understand it, and also told me he didn't do anything wrong. I never needed glasses for my left eye except for reading. Now I need glasses just to see and not even as good as before surgery with cataracts. I think he just wanted the $2000.00 and doesn't really care that it doesn't work. Do not have this lens put in your eye.

I so wish I had never heard of Crystalens. These have ruined my life, and made it difficult for me to do my job, which I love! I see light glare way worse than I did with cataracts. I can't look at anything that is backlit for more than 10 minutes. Glossy magazines are useless to me...the light glare from the glossy pages makes it impossible for me to see. Even church is difficult, with lights from above causing so much glare. And, I also deal with non-stop haze over my vision. I feel like I am wearing ill-fitting, dirty contact lenses...the nightmare is that I can't remove them!

I had cataract surgery on my right eye using crystalens implant. I paid extra for this premium lens. I had a detachrd retina and am now with diminished vision because of scar tissue over the macula. The surgery to repair this may or may not work . I feel this company and perhaps even the doctor should be sued.

I had cataract surgery Feb 3, 2015 right eye, Feb 5 2015 left eye. Went with Crystalens AT-50AO with advise of Dr., as this would be best for my eyes, with the conditions he diagnosed, glaucoma, blephrospasm and chronic dry eye. I paid $10, 000 above insurance for these premium lens. Three weeks after surgery I was back in his office with complaint of vision worsening. I was told because of the type of lens, they were flexing and it would just take time. My distance vision is worse than before surgery. I am seeing from three to six green traffic lights. Was back at Dr for follow up appointment April 17th. Keep in mind my vision is progressively getting worse. Now I am being told the membrane has grown behind the lens and have been scheduled for Yag procedure May 11th and 13th. Had Dr to write me script for glasses for distance, which I never had to wear prior to surgery. After getting glasses, they have sharpened my distance vision and with them I see very clearly. Now I'm wearing two different pair glasses, the readers and distance. The purpose behind the premium lens was to correct vision totally near and far. I am mentally exhausted and totally confused now. Don't think all is being told and the truth is being distorted. How are the glasses clearing my vision through the cloudiness of the membrane. I would not recommend crystalens to anyone. Just wish I had found and read these complaints prior to. Posting so hopefully it will help someone else.

I had Crystalens put in right eye on October 8, 2014, and left eye on October 22, 2014. Initially my vision was very good. On November 11, my vision changed in the right eye and I lost distance vision and everything was blurry. Dr. said the lens had flipped into a "Z" and he needed to do another surgery to reposition it. During surgery he was unable to detach the Crystalens so he had to cut it out. He replaced the lens with the standard lens that insurance pays for and also had to repair a "floppy iris" which was no doubt caused from all the surgery. Had a stitch in my eye that felt like a sticker -- very irritated eye -- and he dilated my eye for 3 weeks. Went back to Dr. on December 22 only to find out that the Crystalens in my left eye had repositioned. I was given a $5600, but I would rather have better vision! I have spent 2 1/2 months dealing with all of this. My brain is totally confused since everything keeps changing. I cannot get a glasses prescription since the eyes have not settled down. I'm wearing cheap readers that give me a headache. If I had it to do over again I would NOT get premium lens' -- I don't think they have been perfected. My Dr. said he was seeking a refund from Bausch and Lomb for the lenses. I would like to be compensated for the aggravation and pain that I've had to endure for the past 2 1/2 months, but like everything, you have to sign a release saying that you understand that the goal of cataract surgery is to get rid of the cataract -- not necessarily improve your vision. My vision is not worse, it is different and it has been hard to adjust. It's December 28 -- I now have a distorted pupil. Will be going back to see exactly what that means and what can be done about it. My advice -- go with the tried and true lens. Crystalens are not all they are hyped up to be.

check out recalls on crystal lens FDA website, you would need your medical id serial number, of actual lens put in your eye. If dr wasn't aware of defects, it may have gone in your eye that way..

Had surgery Nov. 2010 on right eye, had halos, but the DR. P. Labor of Grapevine, TX said that will go away. In Jan. 2011 had left eye surgery with of course the crystalens. He left an air whole and following week had another surgery . Can't see as well before my both surgery . If your thinking of cataract surgery (PLEASE Stay AWAY FROM THE CRYSTALENS . Of course I would not think DR. Philip KIrk Labor of Grapevine, Texas would be a Dr you would want to see. He gets lots of money and I end up with my eye sight poor. He does not care about you, if think go wrong . OH well..and that's a shame. Still have halos still have poor vision, still paying for crystalens.
