Countrywide ignorance
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 2 votes
My mother has recently for the first time in her life had some recent financial dificulties. She purchased a new home over three years ago and has always had Countrywide as her leander. At the time her loan was taken out, her weekely salary that she cleared was $1.076.85 per week. She know currently make $1, 298.47 per week after taxes. She is still current with her mortgauge but knew she would be short for her October payment. She called Countrywide with me sitting with her in her home office. She reached a rep and informed her of her situation. The rep said she would note the account and they might be able to help. She told my mother she would need all her finacial info and that she might be able to defer the payments until January 2009. After giving the rep all her info, my mother was informed they could not help her. When we asked why, Country wide explained taht she did not make enough money to make good on the payments in the future. She said this decision was based soley on her monthy income.

I could not belive the ignorant statement that was comming for the reps mouth. She now earns $225.00 per week clear more than she did when the loan was taken out. This is still the orginal loan, nothing has changed. We then asked the rep, if she didn't make enough money why was the loan ever approved in the first palce?. She could not answear that question and simply said the policies may have been differnet before she was with the company.

It makes me think. Why was the loan approved if she didnt qualify for the income? No one at Countrywide can answear that question! She also recived one of those letters stating that a Countrywide employee stole her personal information.

Countrywide is a very unorganized, unknowledgeable, and ignorant company. I hope they get whats comming to them!
