I hired the company to move my son's belongings from his apartment to my home about 15 miles away. There were approximately 17 medium-to-large items that needed to be moved. There were no fragile items packed like lamps and dishes which they claimed they did. That's a lie! I hired these guys because both my son and his friend were injured a week before the move, so I had no choice. They quoted $70 per hour and no charge for stairs, pads, and plastic wraps. Too good to be true right? Right! My son's items were all smelly, broken couch, speakers, used furniture. They said they need to be packed specially the electronic items. I said no - they will end in the garage and will be discarded later. I just need them to be moved so he can vacate the apartment and not get charged for extra days. They said they had to. Let me back track. At the beginning the guy made me sign all these paperwork and quoted that charges will not be more than $2, 000. Well, I signed because I did not think it will be more than $2, 000! To make this long story short, when we reached my home I was handed a bill for 838.09!!! $453.89 of it is for packing the furniture that I said did not need to be packed and they packed it anyway including the couch that was broken and smelly. Remember these are young men's apartment. It's not clean, neat of anything. They charged for 4.5 hours of work. They only moved about 17 items and took them two hours to pack.

So, my advise to everyone is not to sign anything and not to agree to have your things packed and if they do, know exactly how much they charge for packing. When in doubt DO NOT sign anything.

This case is not over. I filed a complaint through Better Business Bureau and nothing was resolved. I will have to file a claim at Small Claims Court. But I am glad this site is here so I can warn those like me who is not experienced in hiring movers. Imagine a charge for &838.09 to move 15 mile distance and 17 crappy items.

Lastly, do not use Continental Express or they also use the name Express moving, or something. They have a very catchy ad on internet. It's better to hire, if you must, a reputable mover.
