Cody Pools The perpetual and incomplete pool

I had hoped that I would not have to write this, but our pool project with Cody Pools has long-since passed the boundaries of being unprofessional. We started talking with our Cody Pools Georgetown sales rep and designer Peter on January 21. He was very knowledgeable, engaging, and professional. We were tracking well until the pool was excavated.
A few days passed by, and we did not hear anything from the construction supervisor Trey. I emailed him to let him know that the excavation was finished. He responded on April 14th that they would start laying the rebar the next Monday, April 19th. Crickets. No one showed up. We are not whiners, so we did not complain. Things happen.

Then a few weeks later while I was eating lunch at home, I saw people in my backyard, unannounced! I thought someone was trying to break in and moved quickly to secure our yard. After the workers and I had a tense moment, they explained they were there to set the rebar for the pool. No one told us.

The exact thing took place weeks later when they started pouring the gunite. No one let us know. This is more than unprofessional, it is dangerous. I also will note that the emails stopped from both the sale team and Trey after we received a digital letter from the owner Mike Church that spoke to the delays Cody Pools was having in association with COVID-19's disruption of the supply-chain. That was the last email we received, and it was on April 27th. That was almost three months ago! Trey sent us three text messages since then. Our beautiful backyard looks like a cesspool, we still do not know when our pool and patio will be completed 6 months into this and guess what? The summer is almost over, the five events we scheduled for July and August ruined, and our neighbors are rightfully concerned that our fly and critter infested hole in the yard will lower their escalating real estate values.

We chose Cody because of their reputation and pool knowledge. Apparently, we did not get Cody's "A" Treatment for whatever reason and now we must wait in silence while we look at our $100K insect hole. Professional communication, timelines, and a completed pool should not be too much to ask for.

Had a similar situation with Cody Pool and designer peter. Worst copany ever. We ended up going with California Pools.

Cody Pools Shoddy pool construction

I had Cody Pools build my pool four years ago. I was initially happy because they were fairly efficient in building the pool but I found out recently that plumbing was not done to code (it's missing backflow prevention) and after four years the coping is completely falling apart and there is a crack on the concrete deck (see photos). When I called them, they just said it's out of warranty and wouldn't help with anything...

Cody Pools Pool service

If there were a zero star for service I would leave it. In fairness, Cody has an awesome pool design person in San Antonio. His name is Randle. And he is literally the best designer for pools. He is great.

Unfortunately, that is where it ends. The construction and service department make you feel like they are doing you a favor for buying a pool from them. The service department (Jacki) is extremely rude and provide awful service. They took almost 8 months to finish my pool. Then the screwed up the install. And now won't provide the service to repair the mistakes.

Warning... do not ever use this company!

They have become too large for their own good and forgot what got them there.

Cody Pools Horrible Service and Quality

Cody Pools provided unprofessional service and an inferior product (65K pool/spa) and when asked to provide appropriate service and a quality product before final payment stated a mechanical lien would be placed on our home if final payment was not made.

The following is a quick list of what occurred over the past few months:
Deficiencies include, orange fencing never put in place, fence left open/unsecure by workers, rusty steel used; pool equipment located in wrong location, designer (Karl) never on site, but he had stated when trying to close the deal that he would work closely with superintendent onsite throughout process to ensure the homeowners were happy with end result, wooden deck damage by bobcat driver and homeowners never notified, crack gunite (3 locations), stained pebbletec post 1 day, stained spa floor post 2 days, missing equipment, oil stain on coping/concrete, nonworking equipment, poor quality workmanship, damaged retaining wall, line of rust coming from spa light 2-days post water fill up, construction debris left in yard for homeowner to clean up. Self-cleaning system does not adequately clean all areas of the pool. No regard for family pets (dogs). Excess qunite on exterior wall, missing brown coat, numerous rusty wires (safety issue) sticking out of back of bubbler wall. Spillways do not work as stated, they do not spill water, they spit water and bubblers (design feature) splash water on and over the coping company unwilling to resolve issue, company was notified but did not respond, missing safety grip in deep end (safety issue); owner (Mike Church) stated it was on us to ask for missing items (that we paid for)) before plaster stage ... like we know when an umbrella stand is put in place... missing spa/pool control, missing umbrella stand, control panel does not work as should, spouse verbally abused and insulted by subcontractor, workers' children brought to work site on at least two occasions (homeowner informed superintendent first time aware and stated children were not welcomed on property), stain in pebbletec 1-day post application, paint/spots on coping, sloppy tile job, exposed cable lines cut homeowners not notified, gas personnel needed access to lock garage left the garage door open/unsecure and left without notifying homeowner to close/lock door, plumbers cut exposed sprinkler pipes, decking has cracks appearing 3 weeks in, grout applied separate days do not match in color. Worker lunch/snack trash left repeatedly in yard that homeowners needed to pick up daily, design of deep end creates safety issue for small pets and children asked company for remedy but they did not respond -- the design issue were caused by the yard grading and the homeowner was not aware until gunite was sprayed at which time the company was notified of the design flaw. Run away from this company and this owner, Mike Church will be there to take your money only.

I feel you. I am in a nervous wreck at this time too. We've been very considerate and understanding but they can't fix one minor problem that's been addressed from the beginning but sending crews 6x without speaking English and no tools to fix the darn jet spa. The superintendent, Mr. Baca always apologized and the salesman Peter, for the troubles they've caused us. We paid in cash and they were prompt about it.
I will not recommend them.

Cody Pools Poor customer service and project management

We used Cody Pools for our pool projects. The project manager was incompetent and lied as to status. They cosnsistently underdelivered and missed deadlines. The owner did not live up to the advertized commitments and basically told me to go away when I tried to discuss these issues with him.

I have no dog in this race...but I do know people! I feel like David didn't pay for his pool fully for some reason, and maybe had unrealistic expectations. I see people like this all the time. They don't get their way, no matter how unreasonable, vow to destroy you on the Internet. I have had customers like this and now I vow to discredit them when possible! David, get on with your miserable life and quit trying to hurt everyone you cant control! MOVE ON BUD!

We were building a house at the time, so Cody Pools made the choice to wait to begin construction for a few months for access purposes.
