I wanted to add my voice of complaint with all the others. Checking my bank account to balance I came across a strange debit charge of $69.99 posted on July 10, 2008. Upon investigating and talking to my wife we have concluded this company, classic closeouts.com has made an unauthorized charge on our account. I have tried calling their customer-service phone number and only get voice-mail. I have tried sending e-mail and no response or reply. Their website does not show a customer-service phone number or addressd. The only way to make contact via their website is by e-mail and they do not respond or reply to e-mail.

On further investigation I have found 3-phone numbers to this company. The phone numbers are 866-422-6397; 516-371-1123; 516-538-1616. All three number connect to voice-mail to leave a message and someone will contact. Unfortunately after waiting for a week I have received no call-back from a customer-service representative.

Upon doing a phone reverse check an address is connected to 516-371-1123. The other two phone numbers do not list an address. The address noted is connected to a company by the name of "Internet Value Group" and I assume is connected or associated with Classic Closeouts.com. The address is: 110 West Graham Ave, Hempstead, NY, 11550.

I find it highly irregular and unusual a company would not provide an address or phone number for contact. I have also taken the step of bringing up my account with this company on their website and deleting my charge-card information and closing out my account with this company.

Same thing happened to me except the $69.99 was charged to my VISA and I disputed it. The investigator said it should be no problem. The company does not respond to email or voicemails. Hope they burn for this one.

Today I noticed a hold on my account on my VISA check card for $69.99 TWICE!. I ordered something from Classic Closeouts back in May. The charge for $69.99 was unauthorized, and I concur that the phone no., which is nowhere to be found on their website, (1-866-422-6397) sent me to a voicemail. My bank thankfully, sent me to the fraud dept., and they will post a credit to my account after 24hrs, hopefully the bank will go after these scam artists and get back the money.
Goes to show you, not all scam artists are on the street corner with a piece of cardboard and 3cards on it, asking you to play a 3-card-monty. Always delete your credit card info after completing your purchase online, so these crooks cannot screw you over.

My daughter and I had the exact same charges on our account, both on July 2, 2008. We too have had no luck in contacting the company. How can we stop them from doing this to other people?? We are very frustrated.

Beware and continue to monitor your credit and bank card accounts. I have been informed Classic Closeouts is sending out new charges for the month of August in the amount of $59.99. So far my account has not been attached but I will continue to monitor my bank account 2-3 times daily.

One action I did take with this company is that I went to their website and opened up my account. I was successful in deleting all credit-cards to this account. I tried to cancel out the account completely but was unsuccessful so I went back into my account and changed my account name and address to a fictious one. These people no longer have a current or accurate name, address or credit-card/bank card number to steal money.

One other option is to call your bank or credit-card company and have the card blocked and a new number and card issued. So far I elected not to go this route with my bank and am hoping the actions I took on the Classic-Closeout webpage will be sufficient to block any and all future charges.

I did notify my bank of the unauthorized charge and filled out a form to them stating the charge was unauthorized and the bank did reimburse the original $69.99 to my account. There is now an on-going investigation by my bank into Classic-Closeouts and their fradulent charges.

This just happened to me. I was on my way from France back to the States on the date of the charge. I called Discover Card and they credited my account and are investigating. I was told that there have been many complaints about this company. I intend to contact the BBB. If enough people do this, then it will save many future problems for others.

Just happened to me as well. $69.99 on my Citibank care in July 08, then again on August 7, then again on August 19. Citibank is changing my card number, has frozen my account and is sending me dispute forms.
I do not understand how ClassicCloseouts.com is still in business.

Wanted to add to my previous post: I have never knowingly purchased anything from this company. Don't know how they got my information - although it appears that they have affiliate programs. I do not have an account on ClassicCloseouts so that's the only thing I can think of.

This company is the worst i have ever dealt with they got me for 69.99 in july and 59.99 in aug 1st and 79.99 on aug 22 2008
i have called at least 10 times i have emailed the company 3 times all went unanswered i am in the process of turning them in to the better business bureau and have already contacted my lawyer they actually charged my expired credit card that they had on file beware of this crappy company hopefully the better business bureau sticks it to them good.
