CitiMortgage modification error

After they received my income package with current income tax form, they requested I resend the same package, several days later. Both packages were added together, which doubled my income, then told me I didn't qualify for a modification since I earned too much! They are putting my little home in forclosure, which is located in one of the poorest counties in Michigan, and the mortgage (which I had been paying on prior to being let go from my job), has a total mortgage is only $37, 000. I have been employed for almost a year now, can make modified payments, but they don't care! They just want to be rid of me! Heartless, cruel company. I'm seriously think of calling Fox tv, problem solvers for help.

CitiMortgage bankruptcy/refinance

I am one of those small homeowners trying to utilize the HOPE program to refinance my home. For over 3 months I have been routed through every office in CitiMortgagte with the exception of the out-sourced bankruptcy department representative Gladwin J. Pereira who is only accessible by email from CitiMortgage. How is this administration's programs for homeowners going to work if you can't reach a real person. I have sent a letter to Sanjiv Das today with a trail of papers to support my claims. All I want to do is pay off the CitiMortgage loan and move on. Following is my letter.

HELP! I saw your April 2009 article in USA Today about how you help people keep their homes. Following is my dilemma.

I am writing regarding my second mortgage which is held by CitiFinancial. In October 2009, we filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy, with the 1st and 2nd mortgage being paid outside of the plan. Our arrears were rolled into the plan and are still being paid by the Trustee in Utah.

Throughout my dealings with CitiFinancial I have been shuffled to every person, recording device, office, location and dead end in the company. I am appealing to each and every one of you to help me find a real person to talk to regarding PAYING OFF MY CITIFINANCIAL obligation.

The company holding our first mortgage has been successful in finding a lender to refinance both the 1st and 2nd mortgage into one loan. My attorney is filing a motion with the U. S District Court in Utah permitting the refinance. I have sent CitiFinancial Third party agreements for everyone including, but not limited to, my attorney, the 1st mortgage holder, the prospective lender and my wife to discuss the settlement of this loan but to no avail.

I have been referred to the Bankruptcy Department without any success. I have been directed to the
Refinance Department without any success who referred me back to the Bankruptcy Department. I have been told to have the Trustee call CitiFinancial. Trustees do NOT have anything to do with allowing or disallowing the refinance of my home – just the Court. I have received letters regarding our loan from a gentleman by the name of Gladwin Pereira (copy of letter attached). After MANY calls to MANY people, I finally got the supervisor to admit that this gentleman is an outsourced employee and cannot be reached by telephone. Can I ask why a phone number would be listed on a letter to contact him if he can’t be reached? I was told the only way to contact this man was by an email from the bankruptcy department. The last communication with the Bankruptcy Department call supervisor was one month ago and I still have not received a call from Mr. Pereira. This whole process has been going on for over 3 months now without any success.

I am reaching out to you because I have actually been able to verify that your branches actually do exist. I am convinced the rest of CitiFinancial is a giant phone bank in the middle of a warehouse in either Pakistan and/or another location in the United States without an actual address.

All I want to do is talk to someone or have my husband be able to talk to someone to get them to agree to settle on an amount to payoff the already written off loan so I can refinance my house. All I want from one of you all is a real person with a real phone number who can really help me.

Everything Citi has asked us to provide we have provided and then some. Please help me I am trying to do the right thing. Surely one of you has had to deal with a circumstance involving bankruptcy and paying off a loan through refinance. Please don’t tell me you can’t help me.

I am going to have this letter published in the editorial and/or financial section of USA Today, New York Times and New York Post in an effort to get some sort of response from CitiMortgage, Inc.

Thank you for your time.

CitiMortgage illegal escrow adjustment

In October 2010 I received an Escrow Account Disclosure Statement that claimed my starting balance as of October 2010 was negative $29.XX. I contacted citimortgage at least 5 times about this issue now and never received a response that adequately explains this negative starting balance. I received a letter stating "Per our records, your escrow balance was $24.XX after the October 2010 payment was received. However, the projected payments of $26.XX and $26.XX for Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) due for September 2010 and October 2010 were deducted from your escrow balance. As a result, the escrow analysis performed on your account on 10/10 reflected an estimated negative starting balance of $29.XX." The problem with this explanation is that it is wrong. Reviewing the "Account History" on the back of my October 2010 Escrow Account Disclosure that the response referred to, one can easily see that the September 2010 payment of $26.XX had already been deducted from my balance. Therefore, the minimum balance should be less than negative $1. As the October 2010 document states "Under Federal Law, your shortage will be spread over a 12 month period", so -$1 spread out over 12 months is approximately $.08 per month. Citimortgage's adjustment of more than $2 per month was over 3000% too high. It seems like federal law should require the "projections" to somehow reflect reality. The only way that the account balance could reach the projected -29.XX is if two payments are made from the escrow account without receiving a new payment in to the escrow account. Since I make one payment per month and citimortgage purchases PMI once per month, this should never happen.

Sure enough, two months after making the extra payments, citi reduced my escrow contribution. The money at stake here is very small, what bothers me is Citimortgage's complete disregard for the law and my complaints.

Citi escrow scheme

I just received a CitMortgage false Escrow Shortage Projection bill to pay based on my Escrow Account Disclosure Statement. They calculated this projection by not entering or 'projecting' my September escrow payment, which conveniently will force my projected "low-point' below their required "low point". If my Escrow payment for September was listed- I would not go below the required cushion or "low point'. I tried speaking with 2 different people at CitMortgage and both mentioned that since the Disclosure Statement was done in September- they went out too soon to calculate the escrow payment for the month. So how could a company base their projection on incorrect data? Of course the projection would be below the needed amount if you deliberately exclude paid funds. CitiMortgage falsely changed the Starting Balance by excluding that month's escrow payment and believe I am stupid enough to not realize what was done. If I want this corrected- I have to wrote a letter and try to get resolved that way. They know the odds of people doing that is scarce, so they bank on people just paying up!

CitiMortgage placing name on loan w/o notifing

I've been dealing with CitiMortgage since November 2009, I had called them after my mother past away to find out what the monthly payments where and to catch up on the payments since her death. She and I had purchased the home together in 1985 she primarily lived in the home. Every time I called I was told I wasn't legally liable for this loan, never could get an answer of why, since she and I signed the papers. I contacted CitiMortgage from November 2009 thru May 2010. Was told to go online to do a loan modification, in May I was told I couldn't do a Loan Modification cause my name waan't on the loan. Now during this time I was told to hold off on making any payments until the loan modification was completed. In the middle of May 2010 after being told I wasn't on the loan that my mother had refinanced the home in 2004 that I would have to assume the loan over. Filled out the paper work, then the next thing I get is Foreclosure papers in my mothers' name, around the first of June 2010.I contacted the Law Firm explained what I've been going through, went and filled the response at the court. During November 2009 thru May 2010 I had talked to over 50 CSR at CitiMortgage getting different answers. I contacted CitiMortgage asking them what was going on, since I had filled out the Assumption papers to get the loan modification finally going. Upper management informed me they had stopped all work on the Loan Modification and the assumption has been stopped. From June 2010 til September 8th, 2010 I didn't hear a word from CitiMortgage until September 8th, 2010 when they had called. I returned the call on September 9th, 2010 giving them my mothers' last four digits of her SS number as I've done on numerous times. Being told that as of August 28th, 2010 the loan was placed into my name and that I should be happy so that I can get the Loan Modification going again. I was applaud to the fact I never informed of this until after the fact. Again started the loan modification again, having CitiMortgage dropping the ball, requesting information that I had already submitted in several times. Then was informed in November 2010 that I wasn't approved for the HAM program, I wasn't even doing that I was told I was doing a Traditional Modification. So again had to restart all over again. Then the case manager dropped the ball, and again had to restart the process again. I've have jumped through hoops, I fell as if I've been on a roller coaster, during all this. Was told that it went to final underwriters on April 3, 2011, would call in get a message "We are please to announce your papers have been sent please review, sign and send back in" and the CSR couldn't find anything in the notes, to that fact. On May 2, 2011 had to send in my daughters Birth Certificate and a letter from SS on her award letter, being told on May 6, 2011 it's gone back into final underwriter, on May 11, 2011 getting a message left on my cell phone "We are please to announce your papers have been sent please review, sign and send back in", I call and talk to a CSR I'm being told that isn’t correct actually something about I was sending in $325.00 for what she couldn't tell me, then a note that they have started Foreclosure oh but what no they placed that on hold. I get home and call the one person at CitiMortgage that I semi trust and she couldn't believe what they are doing, it stated something about $325.00 but she couldn't see what it was in regards to not unless that is what I'm needing to put down as a payment. Then a note about Foreclosure, but it's still in the Final Approval for Loan Modification. She emailed three different parties within the company and ask that I call back on May 12, 2011. Called talked to her today, no answers to any of our questions except it's in Pending Review, was told to call back at 7:00 since she was going to talk to her manager about this. Now since I've been told prior to not make any payment and the back balance was going up every month, I told them back in December that I'm tired of being told prior to this that I wasn't legally liable to make payments that I was going to since I do want o keep this house. So I made a payment that I was told the amount needed and that it would go towards December 2010, another lie. When I called to make January payment I was informed that the payment went towards the back balance and oh by the way either in June or July 2010 the payments have gone up, but just keep making the regular payments, once you have caught up on that you can start making the new payment amount. Now dong that the back balance keeps going up, instead of $5000.00 behind I'm now $15, 000 plus. I had a loan placed into my name without my knowledge ruining my credit showing late payments. And being screwed around by CitiMortgage. What is it going to take to stop theses people, from there lying to people, and to actually start doing the correct thing. I had asked them on numerous times to send me out a letter that they stated they had sent to me back in early September 2010 regarding the name changed it took them over 5 months to do that, what funny they have the date on the letter as August 28, 2010, this is how stupid they are there's a print on the outside of the letter of when it was mailed. All I wanted it to get the payments lowered since I new they should have been $624.00, and couldn't understand why they jumped up to over $800.00 and now $900.00. In the papers that I finally got which was only half, then finally went to the actual closing company, I found a fraudulent Quick Claim Deed, dated in 2002 or 2003 with my signature. But as CitiMortgage put it I should be happy they placed the loan under my name, no I'm not happy it's a complete nightmare.
A house my mother and I bought for $65, 000.00, she refinanced for $90, 000.00 without me even knowing about that. I can’t change that but I’m not able to sleep, without waking up having panic attach. CitiMortage need to stop ruining people’s lives, and to get things straightened up and do the correct thing without making it difficult. Or placing names unto a loan without notifying.

CitiMortgage Illegal charges, threats, lies

For two years I have been lied to, given no information or erroneous information regarding my accounts (Two) , my payments have been manipulated from one account to the other without my
Knowledge or permission, I have been threated that my home would be owned by "india"! And I was enticed into the "making homes affordable" program", whereby all six payments were put into a
"hold account" without my knowledge and never applied into my account; thereby citimortgage
Was using my $12, 636.54 for free interest, while reporting me delinquent to the credit bureaus and
Charging me late fees and other multiple fees. This was only corrected after writing a certified letter to the c. E. O. ! After clearly requesting I be cancelled out of the making homes affordable program, which was not being put through anyway,
I was called by a scammmer from citimortgage loss mitigation office and enticed into another
Program. When I told him I just hung up from citimortgage and I knew he was from citimortgage,
He hung up on me! I was told six months ago (Twice) by several employees that I qualified for an
"in house modification", since I am retired and taking care of my mother in a board and care which
Is costly. (She is 86). These people were nice, but this program never went through either! I asked
For a lower interest rate. That was not offered to me either. I talked to hud, who told me that they

I have been threatened repeatedly! I did not know my home was in pre-foreclosure. I was paying my

I advise do not go to anyone. Deal with them until you get some answers. Hud may help. We really need

I have also had problems with citimortgage putting my payments in the wrong accounts over and over!
I have had to call them constantly, to make sure the money was applied to the correct account, even

This has been my worst nightmare in all my life! And they demand I send my payments to las vegas!

I had Citimortgage for my 1st and 2nd mortgage and had to short sell my house. It was absolutely the worst experience in my life. They have a department for every little thing and none of them talk to each other. One day I'm talking to the short sale department and everything is fine and the next day I get a fore-closer notice in the mail. I had 5, count them, 5 buyers back out because citimortgage took so long to approve their loans, 2 were for cash!

CitiMortgage home modification program

Although I became unemployed I continued to make my mortgage payments. I applied for the HAMP program in May of 2010 in anticipation of a decrease in my unemployment thus difficulty in meeting my mortgage payments beginning August of 2010. I would call them at least twice a week every month, and each time was told my application was "in process". By the end of 90 days I refuse to accept the same response and was passed from one department to another until I asked for a supervisor. It was only then that the rep told me someone in CitiMortgage had "dropped the ball" on my application, and that it was in the wrong department. From that point on, every single time I called, I was asked for the same documentation which I provided each time. My daughter had moved back with me to help me with my expenses. In accordance with the HAMP guidelines, I used her income along with the little unemployment check I was receiving per week. Again and again I was asked for the same documentation. Over and over I was told I was to send in "updated" documentation to continue the "process". In December I received Notice of Sale because by then I was three months in default. When i called them, they told me that they would not process my application for the HAMP program until all internal options were exhausted. After some heated discussions, I was finally asked for the same documentation which I provided once again. After that point, I kept asking them what should I pay in order to prevent the sale, but was instead sent a letter from the attorney's office demanding a full payoff. The language included a statement that any amount paid towards the mortgage would merely decrease the amount but not decelerate the foreclosure process. Worried about this I called again, and again was told my application was being processed. The day before the sale date, I called again, and this time I was told that in order to stop the foreclosure sale I had to send an updated application. My house did not go on the auction block, and I was so relieved. That is not, however, how this ends. My son told me that there were many complaints about CitiMortgage and their handling of modification applications. He advised me to call them regularly which I did. Each time I called I was told the same thing. One day I received a letter saying that I was denied the modification because I never submitted the documentation that was asked of me. As infuriated as I was, I continued diligently to respond via a letter by mail and by fax. I continued to give them updated documentation over and over again. I forgot to mention that the sale was not canceled, it was merely postponed to April 5th, 2011. Naturally I am anxious so I called them twice or three times per week. I never received a phone call back from my assigned "counselor" although I kept leaving messages on his voicemail. Eventually I demanded to speak with someone else and was told I needed to submit the same documentation. The last time I was asked to send in an updated paystub was exactly one week before April 5th. Up to that last week I kept getting a voicemail message from CitiMortgage saying I was pre-approved for a modification. The day before April 5th, I called. This time I was told that all options had been exhausted and my house would be auctioned as scheduled. I was devastated. The rep had the audacity to tell me that the only way to avoid foreclosure was to pay over $10K, and that she knew I didn't have it. So my house was foreclosed on April 5th, and there was nothing else I could do.
I knew then that all options had not been exhausted because no options were ever given to me. Not deed in lieu, not short sale, not short term payment plan, nothing. Today I discovered even more options. All along there was and continue to be a program called UP for people like me unemployed and receiving benefits. Another program I know I qualified for is the Hardest Hit States Program. Both of these options were not offered to me either. The rug was pulled from under me when CitiMortgage foreclosed on my home while they told me they were processing my modification application. I have lost my home but have not lost hope.
I hope that this letter will help others facing the same treatment by CitiMortgage. I hope that with my complaint to FHA, the mortgage insurance I have been paying will not be valid for CitiMortgage since they have not followed FHA guidelines. I pray I get my house back one day if I have to buy it back from whomever that bought or will buy my home.

I had the same problem with Citimortgage. I was laid off in May 2009 and Citimortgage attempted to foreclose in February 2010. I hired an attorney to help and by May, paid off Foreclosure. March 2010 began loan modification with Citimortgage. My loan was 25 years at 7%. Every 3 months the option expired, and required the paperwork sent again and again. In October 2011 my loan modification was approved on a trial basis 7% for 40 years. My payments increased by $40.00. What did Citimortgage do for 2 years, don't they know rates are in the 3-4% range?

I have had 2 attorneys over this time write to Citimortgage and each time there is no response. They believe they are above the law and are arrogant and borderline unethical in their dealing with clients.

CitiMortgage repayment

I put in for a home modification request last year with Citimortgage. After claiming they never got it and then confrming they got it January. I got a letter dated April 7th thinking they had finally gotten around to addressing a FHA mortgage modification. Was I mistaken. In March I set up a repayment agreement with Citimortgage and made my 1st payment, signed the agreement and figured I was all set with the next payment due April 30th, while I await news of my modification request. They tell me tonight that the "investors group" has determined the repayment plan doesn't fit the plan. What? They set it up. Now they want to have me pay more within the next 8 days and cut my repayment time period by at least six months. I asked them if they are familiar with basic contract law and amending a contract. I don't think they are! I did not agree to any change in the present agreement, I intend to keep making the previous agreement payments. Don't do business with citimortgage and it time to bring a class action lawsuit to their doorstep for breach of contracts, emotional distress, and possibly a RICO claim.

CitiMortgage watch you online mortgage payments!!

I pay my mortgage online at Citi mortgage website. I just noticed that Citi Mortage is not posting my payments on the day I actually paid. Citi has been posting the payment one to two days later than the actual payment date. I always pay before the 11pm cst cutoff. When I called Citi Mortage this is the answer i got: Citi Mortgage's record show you paid this day (correct date) but for your (my) records Citi Mortgage shows you paid the following day. So, apparently Citi Mortage keeps two payment records. One for Citi Mortage's use (the real payment record) and the other (inaccurate payment record) for my use. I asked which payment record would Citi mortage send when I am applying for a refi or new mortage and the rep stated they would send my (inaccurate) payment record not the Citi Mortage record. I have filed a formal complaint with the Comptroller of the currency. Two different payment records ? My personal thought is Citi MOrtage is just trying to keep as a customer by providing inaccurate information which may affect my ability to obtain the best interest rate with another lender.

CitiMortgage forclosure

We have had our mortgage with Citimortgage since 2000. In October 2009, due to a severe injury we had a loss of income and advised citimortgage but they said there was no assistance available to us and our home would go into forclosure. In May 2010 our property for our first mortgage and home equity line was to be sent to forclosure. We put the home on the market and it was to be sold and the closing was scheduled for 3/31/2011. We requested the payoff amount from Citimorgage on 3/21/2011 and were told the request was being processed. We recieved no response and our attorney contacted them again and was told the file was with their attorney so payoff must be obtained from them.
According to the attorney, Powers and Kirn, the file was closed with them 12/2010 and the payoff could be obtained from Citimortgage.
Repeated calls were made to Powers and Kirn, Phalen, Halihan and Schmead and Citimortgage Loss Mitigation Dept, Payoff Dept, Homeowner assistance team, Home Equity and they continued to tell us the information must be obtained from the attorney despite of us telling them the attorney file was closed 12/2010.
I was given a fax number at one point to send a written request to Anthony Craig, who was managing the case and both the fax number and contact phone number was disconnected.
The closing on our house was cancelled.
3/31/2011, Citimortgage Loss Mitigation dept said they sent a request via email to obtain the payoff and it would take 24hours to 3 days.
Again, calls were made repeatedly to their attorney and Citimorgage with no results.
On 4/5/2011 I sent an email to every listed address at Powers and Kirn in regard to the problem we are having and recieved a response right away from their office. I was told although the file was closed with their office, she would contact Citimortgage about our request and the payoff emailed to her shortly afterward.
Every time we called we were told the same thing. Nobody was able to assist us or direct us in the right direction. We were told they did not have the information requested so basically were given the run around while fee's continued to be charged to the account.
I have reported Citimorgage to the Division of Banking and Insurance as well as Consumer Affairs. If Citimortgage was willing to assist us in the beginning we would not have lost our home then would not have had to go through the additional grief we just went through.

After two years of trying to resolve our mortgage issues with citimortgage, and after believing all their lies. We have a guarenteed purchase offer on our home due to close May 15th, and Citimortgage informed our laywer today that they will not wait until then, they are going to auction our house in early April. So much for wanting to help.

My home was sold on DEC. 2009. I never receivied any forms or notification prior to the forclosure and sell of my home. The way I found out was when I called to get the end of the year statement for tax filing, only to find out that I had to go through a lawyers office which informed me that the house had been forclosed on and sold back to the bank. I had missed payments but started sending them in to catch up and nothing was returned until this month, I got my payment that was sent to them in Sept. and according to them that payment was returned in Sept. with a letter informing me that the house was in forclosure but it just arrived this month Jan.2010. I have gone through the lost mitigation department in citimortgage talked with (Elizabeth Gayton )and the HUD approved consumer credit management (Eric Medina) which was in vain. I would like the remaining payments sent to them returned too me since they are taking my home. For anyone reading this complaint do not I repeat do not obtain a mortgage through citimortgage if you want to keep your home.

I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THE BANKS IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA. THEY ONLY WANT TO DELAY, AND THEN STEAL YOUR HOUSE AND RESELL FOR A PROFIT!

I represented a couple who bought their house in Las Vegas, Nevada. All was well until the great recession hit Clark County. The usual steps were taken to assist in a loan modification and the bank, Citimortgage, agreed to a loan modification on a trial basis. They then said that the HAMP modification would be permanent. Wife went bankrupt, but reaffirmed the house and the mortgage, but at the lower rate offered by the bank. The re-affirmation papers were sent to the clients, but the terms were not the modification, but the original mortgage terms. I called the bank and pointed out their error. The bank's answer was that there was a big error and they would re-do the paper work and then the mortgage would be reaffirmed at the lower loan mod rate. They said all would be done in a week. We call a month later, and another employee of Citimortgage tells us that the bank "changed their minds. I filed a law suit on Friday, 4-8-2011, alleging fraud, misrepresentation, breach of contract, breach of promise, consumer fraud, and asked for costs, attorney fees, and that the bank pay damages, including punitive damages.
The case is BOONJUE v. CITIBANK, filed at the Regional Justice Court, downtown Las Vegas, and the case # is A-[protected]-C. I will make the pleadings available upon request for any one with a similar problem and needs to file a lawsuit to protect their rights. James M. Stuart, Esq.

We had the same problems with CitiMortgage. Dozens of calls to every corner of the US and no results. Offices in Iowa, Missouri, South Carolina, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and everywhere else and none of them seem to have the same information on the one mortgage that we held, they never communicated with the other offices, and could never give us any phone numbers.

We now have to be out of our home on Jan. 14th, 2011. They claim that they never received the Loan Modification paperwork even though it was faxed to their office by the local CitiFinancial office (one more part of Citi Bank), by the branch manager here in town. I feel that they never intended to work with us in the first place.

We are currently working on a Loan Modafication, with a Sheriff's sale tomorrow (Oct. 12, 2010), which I've been trying to get postponed all day. The problem is that NO ONE that I speak with @ Citimortgage's Homeowner Asst Team [protected]) can get ahold of OR give me the ext # for Eric Bull (Counsler on our Loan Mod). Tonight I was told by the Account Mgr (didn't get her name), that the ONLY ones that can stop the sheriff's sale tomorrow is the Foreclosure Dept - which they have send emails to about it, but they did not have a phone number for to call them direct. I don't know about anyone else, but it DOES NOT make any bit of sense for a big company like Citimortgage to NOT have phone #'s of their people - no matter what office that they work in. You rely strictly on computers? What will you do if your system crashes OR like in Aug 2003 with the 1/3 of the country blackout. Did anybody do anything during that time, beings that you don't call anybody, you only communicate via computer. I GUARANTEE that anyone that works within General Motors, FORD, or any other company can call & contact any body else within their company & speak to them or at least leave a voicemail message for them to contact them back.

I think that Citimortgage is one of the WORST companies that I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I'm very sorry that we ever signed a mortgage contract with Citimortgage. Don't be surprised if you at Citimortgage starts to hear about this on the Local, State & National news, because I'm going to contact them & give them all the information.

CitiMortgage scam refinancing

CitiMortgage is scaming clients with phony refinancing opportunities. CitiMortgage currently holds the mortgage on my home and they sent me a "pre-approved" opportunity to refinance at a lower interest rate. I sent them the fee to start the process only to be told that appraisaer couln't find any comparable sales in my area therefore they valued my property at less than 1/2 of the market value. CitiMortgage knew or should have known this would be the outcome with housing sales at the lowest it has been in almost 10 years. Don't fall for it!

There's something missing here, evening if they knew it would be 1/2 the value; why didn’t you have an idea that this would be the case before you ventured in to this? Did the refi go through, are you still with CitiMortage?

CitiMortgage loan

Citimortgage is horrid... I have been paying on an estate for 5 years now and today they told me they will no longer accept payments as they just realized the original loan holder is dead... Now for the past 5 years they have had the death certificate and have accepted payments knowing the original loan holder died... Now I have to go out and get a loan to pay them off... And to top it off there is only $12, 000 owed on the loan...

CitiMortgage property damage loss

Inspectors from Assurant Property inspections do not have to be trained. All the inspectors are required to do is to go out and make sure either the home repairs have been finished, or are in the process of being finished and estimate how much of the damage still needs to be repaired. Thats all. They are not a licensed real eastate or insurance inspector. It really doesn't make any difference what the inspector turns in because the mortgage company ( CITI ) is going to do what THEY want to do as far as the claim goes. I've known people who have fought with CITI Mortgage for 6 months or longer just to get the repairs completed or to get a contractor paid. In my opinion, there should be a class action lawsuit filed against CITI Mortgage concerning property damage repairs. The hell they put people thru is completely uncalled for.

I used to be the one that you called to set up the claim with Citi, Indymac, GMAC, etc.. You would endorse the check and send it to us, then we would release funds according to what the lender allowed and also scheduled the inspections. The OP is correct, the people that come out to do inspections aren't really trained and they just eye the repairs. I've handled claims that took almost a year to finish. Good luck.

CitiMortgage loan modification

my complaint on citi mortgage can go on forever in 2009 i was a month behind and ask for help knowing my financial status was worsening. They said couldnt do anything until I was 3 or more months behind. to star I refinanced with Gaurdian savings which immediately sold it tociti mortgage. from the start they screwed up my account. I could go on forever but a short version is I pay my taxes insurance and mortgage in one payment and citi pays out to my insurance and taxes. I get a letter stating I havent had home owners insurance for a long time so they escrowed me up went my house payment. I provided proof of payments and the still escrowed me and to date caused my insurance to get cancelled and have never refunded my payments. then I get approved for a modification we start the payments and the very first one they except make my second payment which is $615.00 citi returns it to me and sai i am in vilation of contract so they cancelled it due to non payment. I once again provide info showing they received my money cashed it and THEY NEVER applied it to my account. so money search department fnds it but the completely deleted my modification account before checking for my payment. I get started again in modification I get a call on new years eve about my account and the man i talked to said " thats funny our office was closed christmas day but somehow your account was once again deleted on christmas day" It took them 5 weeks to do my first modify and now we are on 7 months and nothing I have faxed and written umpteen letters and forms that has gotten me no were. my complaint has a little of everyones complaint in it also but citi mortgage is the cause of why me and my family are gunna be homeless. I refinanced for a lower payment andin no time they had it 300$ more than my original mrtgage. What a company to deal with If anyone has a lawsuit or anyone I can contact or any usable information please feel free to send it or count me in.

We applied for Citimortgage loan modification May 2009 and as of today (7/10) nothing has been accomplished! We tried to do everhing we can to finalized this process and has been one of the worst processes ever! As regular citizens of USA we tried to pay but becuse of bad economy last year our paychecks got hit and hit big time! We start to strugle like most of the midclass people in USA so we call CITI mortgage to see if is anything we can do to make our life a bit easier and save our home! After being switch back and forth finaly we got to some lady who took full info's, income and financial statments we got "approved" for rate reduction and our payment got 350 bux less! I was super happy ...i saved our home! But loan sharks are thinking different! So we start geting calls about paperwork they need so we start sending and sending and sending! UPS/USPS/Fedex you name it! Faxed over...emails and they always manage to lose something! Tax form was send to them 13 times and thy still dont have it! HOW THIS CAN HAPPEND? So 16 months later nothing has been done...i mean nothing ...but CITI managed to kill our credit score! We were told if we pay "agreed" modified payment we will not be reported as late! So every month on 1st we called them to pay and make sure we are on time we had another fight to go with costumer service..CITI costumer service want to charge you 25 dollars to process the check or they dont care if you pay! Are you kidding me? Anyway so far we didnt get anywhere except our credit got tanked, house is worth 70K less and lot of gray hair becouse of CITI! I dont understeand this people! We tried everting i mean everthing...pay each month, negotiate payment, rate anything which will bring this to end and seem nobody want to work! Why would they? They are getting money for Goverment...hold on...this is our tax money and they dont want to help! Last friday i got a call from Citi (EDDIE)...he called with treats me and my family with losing home and being homeless if we dont send them paychecks again which we did on 6.23.10! Need a proof of income every week? I have no clue what do to anymore..we called them, call HOME office, called state attorney, emails, blogs and nothing can help us to finish this CITI nightmare! ANY CLUES? ANY IDEA'S GUYS? HOW WE CAN BEAT LOAN SHARKS? THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! Please if you are thinking to do modification with CITI please sleep on it and think! This will be worst ride ever! So for your health and nerves please think!

I was unemployed for several months, called Citi Mortgage in September 2011 for a possible loan modification. Was told when I began a new job, to contact Citi Mortgage and start the loan mod process. I called Citi Mortgage on 11/7/11 and started the process. I submitted all required documents, forms, etc. I called in Dec 2011 for an update. Jan 10, 2012 I was informed that I was denied because I was current on my payments. I was very upset, kept calling back to the homeowners assistance dept and told by two different Citi Mortgage employee's to skip a few payments and then the modification would be looked at more seriously. I was very concerned about this step, as I have never been late on my mortgage. I skipped Feb 2012, called Making Homes Affordable, they called Citi Mortgage with me and started the process again. I again, submitted new documents. I called several times from Feb 2012, March 2012, April 2012 and then my final call was May 2, 2012. Throughout these phone calls I continued to be told that my loan was with the underwriter and/or investor. Finally, I recieve an email on May 2, 2012 that i was approved for the loan mod trial payments to begin June 2012. I made June, July and August 2012 payments on time. I had not heard anything from Citi Mortgage as of August 30, 2012, so I called that morning to see if I make my mod payment or my original payment. At that time, I was tol that i was denied for the loan mod due to the type of loan I had, which is a TX A06 or something like that. I was furious, as no one had contacted me about this and I would not have known if I had not called. Now they are wanting $21, 000 to handle the loan mod or I can pay $13, 000 for past due payments, which I am good with and have the funds set aside, but they cannot explain the extra 6k-7k they are requesting. Everytime, I call, I am told a different story by my executive loan modification team. I am so frustrated. Any suggestions on next steps would be great. You do not treat customers that way. I am thankful that I have detailed notes, however, not sure of best recourse.

I lost my job in 2010, which decreased our income by 2, 000.00 dollars a month. We tried to do modification with one company 6 months later no response from modification company, when with another company, all along stating since see could not afford our mortgage not to worry past due would be waved. In 2011 my husband lost his job, I became a 99er so we were living on my husbands unemployment. In April modification company stated that if we did not have jobs by end of June there would be a sherif sale set. In September I call citi Mortgage filled out all there paper work and was told it would be 30-45 day before we would get an answer. We sure enough we did. Citi is willing to lower our rate to 3.375 but because we are 2 years behind $52, 000.00 dollars our reduction would only be $72.00. Our payment was 1998.00. So my question is why did it take Citi mortgage within 45 days to get back to me, but over 2 years through out modification company's. If it had only taken within 45 days back in September of 2010, we would not be $52, 000.00 behind. My husband has found a job, I am desperately trying everyday with no luck. Can someone please explain why I received and answer from Citi within 45 day, but not the modification company which we paid $2, 500.00 to. WHY, WHY, WHY.We can not afford $1926.00 a month anymore than we could afford $1998.00. How can Citi Mortgage get away with this. Do they want another empty house sitting with not one living in it. Is there anyone that can help us. We want to keep our home, but Citi Mortgage is making it impossible. We will be living on the street, like so many other people who have Citi Mortgages. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE HELP US.

My husband have been trying to get a loan mondification thru CITI MORTGAGE since Oct 2010. We started with a scam Company (Mortgage Relief Payment) contacted Attorney Generals Office of Arizona and received a full refund of $2500.00. Thank god we are now with HOPE FOR HOMES WHICH IS PART OF PRESIDENT OBAMA HOPE OF HOMEOWNERS ACT 2008. The way I see it We the American people were their when all the big business like CITI MORTGAGE needed a bail out, well I need a bail out. I lost my job in Feb of 2010, and as President Obama stated go back to school get yourself an education durning the time you are unemployed. I did this, I am currently in school at CTU for medical billing and coding and will finish my school in Sptember of 2011. My husband has had to have many operation knee replacement X2, and both hips replaced since 2007. We have been getting deeper and deeper behind in or mortgage and we are now with Trejo Law Corporation to get a loan modification. CITI MORTGAGE IS COMING UP WITH MORE AND MORE REASON TO RED FLAG OR MODIFICATION. I believe that this is unfair and will be contacting everyone that I know within our Goverment to get CITI MORTGAGE to comply with the HOPE FOR HOMEOWNERS ACT OF 2008.

I absolutely agree with you-to make a long story short, I have been getting the run around since July of 2009, and am very afraid that we are going to lose our home. If we could form an alliance somehow, I firmly believe there is strength in numbers. I say, lets contact all the people we can to see if they are interested in joining the fight. I've had it! I haven't registered yet on this site yet, but I'm going to now. I contacted the attorney general's office in my state, the federal trade commission, and the office of the controller of the currency. I have to follow up with each, but maybe you can do the same in your case. Good luck!

@Disgusted:

I don't understand why you're seeking a modification if you have a large cash savings. Modifications are for people who can't afford their payments. If you can afford them, but just don't want to use your savings to do it, don't expect a lot of help from Citi.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that walking away from a house can be a good decision, but you need to show an inability to pay before Citi will reduce payments. That's just how it works. Don't get mad at Citi because the don't care if you don't like your payments. If you can afford them, you need to pay it or walk away. I don't blame you for trying, but getting mad seems foolish.

Purchased home in 2006 - 30 year fixed at 6.125% - put $100K down and signed loan for $295K. Had credit score of over 800... House value tanking (am located mid way between Stockton/Sacramento (foreclosure heaven); asked Citi to refinance. Told NO because house was underwater. In Feb. 2010 I was laid off - told Citi the next day. Did not offer any sort of modified payment plan etc. Applied for modification; had read/heard they would reduce payments immediately. No such luck. Submitted hard copy application plus 44 pages of backup to Citi via registered mail. Confirmation they received June 9, 2010. To date (Aug. 12) have never heard "boo" from Citi, not a word confirming receipt of application - - no postcard, no email, no phone call, no written correspondence whatsoever.

I called Citi six times between June 10th and August 1st. Each time told that it would take "several months" before a decision would be made and when asked, they confirmed that "no" Citi would not communicate with me to even confirm receipt of my application, let alone - god forbid - advise me as to status etc. The sixth time I called THEM (not the other way around), I was told that nothing had been done at all, as my application had not been sen to "processing" Why not? Oh, they have a few questions... Okay, so when we they planning to ASK the questions, i.e. contact me?

Long story made short(er): I was told by "LaQuisha" that my application would be (is?) denied because - unfortuantely for me - my home is now owned by Fannie Mae, not Citi. Had my home still been owned by Citi (who lost it to Fannie Mae thank you very much), they could modify the loan but because it is now a Fannie Mae loan - Fannie Mae does not modify loans for people whose only income is unemployment regardless of an individual's cash on hand (meaning I have zero debt except for my primary loan and have fairly large cash savings).

To this day, I have not received any correspondence nor telephone calls from Citi formally responding to my application. Oh, but I have heard from Citi's collection department - - the calls from the PHILLIPINES continue.

WHY, oh WHY is it even legal for Citi to pay people from another country to call and badger unemployed Americans ? WHY isn't Citi required to hire Americans to badger unemployed Americans? Fellini fiction or fact? Sadly, fact.

Root in HELL anyone everyone connected with Citi.l

Oh geez, your story is the same as mine! Been in the OBAMA modification for a year, what a JOKE! They lose paperwork, don't know whats going on, just got sent to a traditional modification, but they sent us a denial paper even BEFORE the got to look at our info. We make 100, 000 per year, had a temporary layoff for 2 months and got 80 days behind, they are telling us we are S.O.L. and to pack our bags for foreclosure! ###. Cannot talk to a person in modification, we call 3 times a day, asked for a supervisor every time, they PROMISE a return call. I'm at the end of my rope, thanks OBAMA FOR NOTHING! AND CITI YOU CAN SUCK IT!

CitiMortgage mortgage fraud

We entered a repayment agrmt with CitiMortgage in July 2009 to make 12 inflated payments of $555 starting in August 2009 and ending in July 2010. We made every payment early. When we completed final payment, Citi claimed we still owed more on the repayment. We presented our proof & the runaround began. Their records were incorrect & they still haven't fixed them. Moreover, two months into the repayment plan, Citi's attorneys filed suit for foreclosure! On Oct. 19, 2009, my husband appeared in court alone, presented our proof that we were in compliance, and the judge found in our favor; Citi was ordered to pay all attorneys' fees and court costs. The following day, Citi began moving money around in our account - trying to hide the attorneys' fees. So the issue is still unresolved, Citi is still in contempt of court, & we still receive collection calls every week, even though we pay on time & haven't been late in 15 months.
My advice to all Citi victims: It's time to FILE A FEDERAL COMPLAINT AGAINST CITI. Go to the website of the Comptroller of the Currency and of the FTC; both have complaint forms. Visit the website of your Secretary of State; there should be resources there to report mortgage fraud. That's what this is - FRAUD. Before you start on the forms, write out a simplified timeline of what happened to you - it will make filling out the forms easier. Citi doesn't care if we sue them; they have dozens of attorneys on staff. What they DON'T want is to have to defend countless federal complaints. Make the effort, and make Citi pay, & hopefully get your lives back. Good luck!

CitiMortgage unethical practice

I began my mortgage in 1991 with Waterfield Financial. It was set up that I would not have escrow and would take care of my own insurance. I never had a problem with the mortgage as long as Waterfield was in charge. Then Citimorgage took over. It took over a year and a half with many letters and phone conversations to convince Citimortgage that I did not have an escrow. During that time they continually tried to foreclose on my home. Finally they conceded that I did not have escrow and dropped all the charges they had piled on. They pulled the foreclosure. Now comes the end of the year 2009. The city of Battle Creek mixed up my information and sent my Winter Tax bill to the wrong address. I called the city office near the end of December and ordered a new bill be sent. This bill also never arrived. I finally went to the city office to pick up a bill to be informed that the tax was paid, however they believed that it had been paid through the Homestead refund I should have recieved in 2008. It was not until I also did not recieve a tax bill for the summer that I became more concerned so I again went to the city office to inquire what was happening. I was informed that the bill had been paid in July by Citimortgage and so was the winter bill.
I immediately contacted Citimortgage to remind them that my mortgage was nonescrow. They informed me that because I had not paid the Winter Tax by January they went ahead and paid the bill. According to Citimortgage, they sent me a letter in April, and again in June requestingthat I repay the bill or they would take over escrow. When I complained about not recieving the letters I was informed that the letters were not sent in company printed envelopes, or were the letters on Citimortgage official paper. They were sent on plain paper in plain white unmarked envelopes, thus looking very much like junk mail which the person on the phone commented. This is my complaint. That these letters which were going to effect the future of my mortgage for the duration of the loan should definitely have been sent on official letter head paper in official envelopes to indicate their importance. As it now stands Citimortgage has set up a repayment plan that is simply more than my fixed income can handle and I will very likely lose my home.

CitiMortgage fraud

I have been a mortgage customer of Citimortgage for over 5 years. They automatically withhdrawal my payment, plus additional principal from my bank account every month. I have never been a day late in my life. They called me several months ago and asked if I wanted to adjust my mortgage rate. I was a little leary, but they had all of my personal information and assured me this was all up front. They told me the cost, but assured me I would not be charged until everyhting was complete. I sent them the updated information they requested and never heard anything back. I noticed on my next month's credit card bill they charged me over $1, 700. I called and complained and they said don't worry everything would be taken care of. The next week my second mortgage company charged me $250 for a subordination letter that was sent to Citimortgage. The next day I got a call from someone at Citimortgage stating that they couldn't do the rate adjustment afterall. I said that is fine just refund the $1, 950 costs that they have charged me. He said sorry we cannot do that. I have excellent credit, have more than 80% equity in my home and have never had a problem with any loan in my life. Citimortgage took advantage of the fact that they were my current mortgage holder and had all my personal information on file and scammed me. To prove my point, the next month I went to my local bank (Regions Bank) and refinanced at even a lower rate. We had to give them a ton of paperwork, but there was no problems. They actually called us when they had a question! I wanted to make sure the closing was final before I pushed this issue even more. The fact they were my current mortgage holder, I am sure they could have made things even more difficult. The fact they scammed me tells me that I am not the only one. I have asked my credit card company for reimbursement and they have denied it. I am assuming the big banks stick together to enable them to continue this scam! I have called the better business bureau and they say they do not see a problem. I have tried contacting the bank regulators to complain, but have had no luck. I am sure they have their hands full with the likes of Citimortgage! I may never get back the $1, 950 dollars that was stolen from me by Citimortgae, but if there is a way to prevent this from happening again to someone else, I am going to pursue every avenue.

CitiMortgage mortgage loan

Citimortgage

Re: account # [protected]

I have for over a year now tried to get some help from citimortgage with this loan.
In the beginning; (Due to my error in re-financing with a company) I was not told, although i’m sure it was in the fine print that my new mortgage (Approx 2003) would become adjustable after a 2 year time. I was told I would be able to refinance in 6 & ndash; 8 months which didn’t happen because at the end of the 8 months they told me that property values had dropped and it would be impossible to refinance now.
In that time my mortgage was sold to citimortgage. Ever since that time I have had trouble with citimortgage.
In august 2009, I called citimortgage trying to get a modification on my loan. Due to divorce/legal fees, etc. I was having financial difficulties. I was told that in order to process a modification, I would have to be behind on payments 2 months. I proceeded to work on this modification, all to no avail. Citimortgage claimed not to have received my faxes (Even though I had proof) and had to re-send them. Then was told it might take 6 & ndash; 8 weeks before any answer could be solidified. In the meantime, this is being reported to credit reporting agencies as a delinquent account, thus hindering my credit score in the meantime. By march 2009, there was still no help from citimortgage and with the lack of help from citimortgage and the other financial difficulties, I had to file bankruptcy. I kept the house out of the bankruptcy however, and in order to file was told by my attorney that the 2 payments I was behind with citimortgage would have to be paid before the bankruptcy could be filed. So at that time through borrowing money I was able to get those 2 payments paid. A few weeks after the bankruptcy filing however, I received paperwork from citimortgage showing the $1900 (+) that I had paid in march was not accounted for by citimortgage, thus citimortgage sent a modification to sign.
As of this date, i’m not sure whether that money was ever accounted for.
Beginning in april, I called in my mortgage payments, because I was blocked from paying online. Each and every month I called to pay, I was directed to the bankruptcy department even though the house was never in the bankruptcy. Each time I called to make these payments, I was sent to this department to make my payments, and each time was told to pay $809.68 & ndash; which I did. All this time i’m receiving a statement each month also, but never does it reflect that I have a late charge, that I am a payment behind or no such info except the monthly payment. At the beginning of october 2010 I called to make the september payment and the october payment and was told that I was almost $3000 in arrears! In talking to someone at citimortgage, I am told that since april, only partial payments have been being applied & ndash; thus my account is showing very delinquent and multiple reports have gone out to the credit reporting agencies (Like I need any more bad reports at this time). This was due entirely to citimortgage giving me incorrect information. Included in the payment in october (According to the person taking the payment) was the late charge fees.
In october, I paid $1502 and change, in order to try and begin to correct some of this. Then in november I phoned in another payment for $878 and change (+ any charges that were additional just to pay). Then in december, I called to make a payment and was again told I was 3 months behind! Upon checking, citimortgage discerned that they did indeed have the confirmation # of the payment, but it had not been applied. They would send it to the correct department and try to get this taken care of but it might take 2 weeks. In the interim, I receive a letter requesting my checking account information showing these payments. So, I got these to citimortgage, and in 2-3 weeks had received a letter stating that the $1700 (+) would be reapplied to my account & ndash; and they would send a notification to the credit reporting agency in reference to november. To begin with there were many months that there was negative info reported to these agencies (Again, due to mis-information from citimortgage) that have not been corrected.
In addition, this as to my understanding is and adjustable rate mortgage (Again unbeknown to me) , and in light of mortgages rates today and in the last year & ndash; somehow my interest rate is still almost 10%! Is there an explanation for this that i’m not aware of?
In addition to that & ndash; today 1/13/2011, I get a letter saying that because of the delinquency on my account, there will now be an exterior inspection of my home, with the charges being applied to my account, and these may continue monthly!
What are you people trying to do? Make me lose my house? I have tried for a year and a half to get some resolution, help, satisfactory answers, some kind of helpful information from citimortgage & ndash; all to no avail. Instead i’m getting charged for anything that can be dreamt of, with the potential for additional charges.
And now, yesterday 1/18/2011, get yet another letter pertaining to my delinquent account!
And now an update from my credit report showing something else from citimortgage! I am not delinquent on this account! I have made payments that were supposed to cover and erroneous late charges and now only have the january payment that is due! What else can I do to get this straightened out? Anything reported from citimortgage to the credit reporting agencies should have been to correct the last entry which showed delinquent.
I am at the end of a very long divorce dispute, just finally closed on my bankruptcy and am trying the best I know how to begin building my credit score again.
Any response that I do get is slow to get here, and apparently crossing over from another department within citimortgage and your right hand doesn’t appear to know what your left hand is doing!

I completely agree with Citimortgage giving our incorrect information, and I feel for this person, and hope that everything works out for him/her. I am going through a tough time with them too. Last year we got behind a couple of months on our mortgage, and I called to see if I could pay so much extra per month to get caught back up and current. The lady that I spoke with looked up my account and told me that we were actually current, and in fact were paid up for two more months, that we would not have to make another payment until August. I should have known better, but believed her. Especially after I called back the next day, and someone else told me the same thing! Then I called back AGAIN in July just to make sure that I didn't need to make a Agust, and was told AGAIN that I was paid up and current until August when my next payment was due. So I made my next payment in August. Then again in September, October, November, December, and January. In mid January I called the Citimortgage Bankruptcy Department about the taxes paid on my home for the previous year, and was told that I was severely delinquent and facing foreclosure! I asked what the heck was going on, and told them what I had been told by TWO seperate people in their department on THREE seperate occassions, and all they said was that I was told incorrectly. So now I am trying to file a hardship on my 401K to pay them in order to get current as quickly as I can. These people need to get it together because they are playing with people's HOMES!

CitiMortgage my construction loan

10 Years ago Citimortage Bungled my Construction loan and i have never recovered financially. In brief they paid thousands of dollars (50K+) from
my construction loan at the request of my General contractor WITHOUT inspecting that the work for which the money was being paid was completed and completed completely. The fact was the work had never been done and the contractor was just stealing the money. The contractor ended up being arrested and i had to furnish the missing money to complete the job. Citimortgage Reps. admitted over the phone that this wasn't the first time they had bungled a construction loan, in fact they said "there were thousands of bad construction loans out there". 10 years later i am still dealing with the impacts of their negligence had to file chapter 13 to stay afloat. I will alos echo maybe of the other comments here by saying their customer service is brutal, many a day i stayed on hold for hours at a time and NEVER gor call backs when leaving messages.

I'd love to hear from others that had to go through this torture because of Citi's neglect. Reacm me at: [protected]@aol.com
