CitiFinancial Servicing Stay away

Citifinancial stinks! I paid my mortgage regularly for 15 years, and I just sent in the final payment. Their hoard of telephone harpies harassed me for years, if I was only a few days late. When I paid them on time, they still demanded that I send them a copy of my check from my credit union to prove that they indeed received the money! Screw them, May they suck donkey dicks in ***! May they be at the epicentre of an earthquake. May wildfires devour everyone. And most of all, may no more suckers like myself be lured into getting a mortgage with these idiots.

The funny thing is, you are so mature about your situation. You must not have been paying your bill on time if they were calling you. They dont call until you are out of your grace period. And they probably asked for a copy of your check because it was posted to the incorrect account by accident. It happens all the time at a processing center. Computers are perfect you [censored]. If you would have taken 5 minutes to get off of your fat lazy ###, you probably could have found out about your situation and why they were calling. But you are a social parasite i am sure, who sits at home and does nothing, while others work hard to pay for your medicare or social security. From the tone you have, the only people i feel bad for are those employees who had to deal with your stupid ###. May god smite you for you comments.

CitiFinancial Servicing Beware

CitiFinancial Retail Beware of last payment charges and revolving credit that you have not signed or asked for and are being charged by the Day. The interest on my bill is 366.52% on finance charges even if your original bill states NO finance charges. You call and on the bill it tells you that you will still be responsible for the bill till it is resolved, and what if it is not in months, months. On $1.00 at 366.52% can you imagine what it will be? If I find out what can be done I will post.

CitiFinancial Servicing Bill not paid

I have been a Citi Finacial customer for years! I have recently found out that monies I borrowed from CITI FINANCIAL, to pay off an outstanding VISA bill in the year 2004 in the approx amount of 600.00...was not paid... and to this day no record, is on file, to show that it was! I was advised by my local CITI FINANIAL, that there was a record of a cheque issued, but they were unable to provide me with a number to prove this cheque was actually issued to cover the outstanding debt! This only leads me to believe that said funds were never paid! And as per records of my financial institute CIBC to this date, no funds were received to cover this outstanding debt ...thus showing that this dept has NEVER been paid, resulting this debt on my credit record to this day...4 years later!

In my quest to clear this, I was advised by CITI FINANCIAL, to proceed to EQUIFAX, to process a credit report, as CITI FINANCIAL would not do the search themselves! As was instructed by CITI FINANCIAL I processed a credit report through Equifax, and found out in the process, that the VISA bill for CIBC was never paid. Thus giving me my bad credit rating! Upon receiving this info, I have found out that this debt has been on my record for the past 4 years! How could this happen! I trusted CITI FINANCIAL to see that this debt was paid, only to find that to this day, the debt is still outstanding and tarnishing my credit record. I tried very hard to clear up this debt but was very disappointed to see that a financial institute that I trusted for years had let me down! As per instructions given to me by a CITI FINANCIAL representative, I was given a number to clear this...only to be given an endless list of numbers in which each would give me another number! I have now exhausted the numbers given to me to clear this issue, and still no ANSWERS! If you would like a list of the numbers I have been provided with and have been non successful. they are as follows:

[protected]

[protected]

[protected]

[protected]

[protected]

[protected]

As you can appreciate as per the numbers above, I have repeatedly tried to fix my financial credit rating with the numbers that I was given, only to get another toll free number that did not help to solve my situation!

To this day, I have yet to have been given a number to clear this debt which was supposedly paid by CITI FINANCIAL...4years ago and I have no where to turn but to complain to the people that I trusted to help fix this matter!

I trust you will help me to fix this matter and finally clear this matter that has haunted me for months!

I will look forward to your immediate response to this matter! To further help you in this matter I have provided for you (as below)...info that you will help you in your investigation!

Thanking you in advance!

CitiFinancial Servicing Unethical business practices

My wife and I were refinancing our house with Citi. We locked in a rate of 5.875. The lock in period is 30 days. Citi had admitted to loosing our paper work in underwriting according to the emails between my broker and Citi. Yet when the lock in period expired due to there negligence they were not willing to honor the percentage rate we signed contracts for. They even told my broker they would allow a free extension period so the loan would be completed but then retracted that offer later. The rates at the time my loan was supposed to close were going up rather fast. Citi could have honored that rate and should have if they were a company of good morals. Financial institutions like Citi have been known too allow lock in periods to expire when they know rates are going to climb higher and this seems to be a classic case of that. Citi in my opinion is completely unethical and does not care about the people they do business with. Maybe if huge company's like Citi would do business properly and with a certain degree of ethics instead of just steam rolling over the very people that allow these companies to become the giants they are, this country would be a better place to live in. I hope Citi does the right thing and allows the loan to close with the original rate they quoted me; but knowing there track record I highly doubt it.

CitiFinancial Servicing Customer complaint

I called customer service to request an immediate copy of my truck title to be sent to the PennDot in Harrisburg, PA so I could transfer my plates from Alabama to Pennsylvania. My current plates expire June 30th. I have been attempting to complete this for a week without success. I keep getting the run around. The person I keep coming in contact with on the phone in the customer service department is very difficult to understand. I apologized to him and explained that I could not understand him and asked if he could get someone to help me who speaks better English. He refused and then said he would connect me back to the automated system. I said I didn't want to do that because I need to speak to someone whom I can understand and he got very rude on the phone and put me back into the automated system anyway. I tried using the automated system and I got the same representative. I explained to him again that I needed to expedite obtaining my title. I explained that the lady at PennDot faxed a request and she suggested I contact you to make sure your office received the fax. He told me the fax was not at that location and he wouldn't check anyway. I asked him to connect me to the title office so I could speak to someone regarding my issue with needing a copy of the title and he said he didn't have the correct number. At this point, you can imagine my frustration. Your customer service is a direct representative of your company. Right now, I am not impressed. Is there anyone out there that can assist me? Is there anyone willing to do their job? Appreciate a reply.

Thank-you,
James Ingold.

I am going through the same thing, james you should call the dmv in alabama they should have a title and they will fax you a copy. it may cost you a few dollars to get it. my husband and i have been fighting with them for 3 months now to get a copy of the title to our car and they cant seem to find one, i was told to go to the dmv where i used to live and get it when i called they had one on file. the bad part fo it is that we are still fighting with them about the payments and after fighting with them over it i dont want the dang car anymore. all of the employes that we have spke to are rude and im tired of not understanding any of them. if they cant speak clear english then they should find a job that requires them to us there hands not there mouths.

I am very upset with the Woodbridge Citifinancial branch. I spoke to the person in charged and she has no manner what so ever. I had asked her if she could get me a lean release letter so i could take it to DMV and all she does is give me the run around with a nasty attitude. At first she told me that she doesn't know hoe to do that so the next day she said that she was going to fax it to the DMV and guess what, she did not.

I desided to call her and she said to me that she had to much in her hands that I have to wait and for me not to call her anymore and hanged up the ohone in my face. If this matter is not done by tommorow. Then I would take legal action.

CitiFinancial Servicing Repossession

Like many others we took out a loan with Citifinancial, using our vehicle (which was paid off) for collateral. We were never late on a payment for 1 and 1/2 years. We had some emergencies and missed one payment. Before thirty days were up we dropped two months payment off at the local office, the latter before the due date. A week or so later we got a call from Citifinancial wanting to know where our payment was. We told them it had been dropped of and the representative said they would note the account. The check was probably sent to their office in California and had not been received yet. The check never cleared our bank. We were called by "Tish" the manager and told we could come in and do a deferred payment. We went to the office on a Saturday and gave them another check and signed more papers. While we were in the office we heard two other representatives giving some poor suckers the same song and dance they gave us - "bring the vehicle in and the title and you and your husband need to be present to sign the papers..." They do this, so they can screw up both spouses credit. Our check was presented before our deposit was posted and was returned. We received a letter from them a week later stating we had to pay the returned check plus an nsf fee of 30.00. The next Saturday my husband dropped another payment off for the payment and the fees. Tish called before he even got home and said it was unacceptable, they could not accept a check for a returned check. Before we could even go to the bank and get cash on Monday, Tish left a message on our home recorder (we were at work) saying we had to come in today and take care of this to avoid repossession. She stated we could refinance and not have a payment due for a month. We made an appointment to go in on Tuesday and sign the papers...we walked out to go to work Tuesday morning to find our vehicle gone. A call to their office informed us it had been repossessed. We called too late in the day to get the repossession stopped. We had financial information in that vehicle along with other personal property. Now they are telling us we have to pay them $468, with interest accruing DAILY and pay another $300. for the towing plus $10.00 per day storage fee and will not tell us where the car is until we pay them - CASH. We cannot pay them almost $1000.00 until we get paid. Meantime the fees keep adding up. Called the Citifinancial office to find out if we could get our personal property and Tamara told us she couldn't give us that information but the "people they use are professionals" and proceeded to tell me how they have one vehicle at a certain towing lot, another at another, and still another in another part of town. Doesn't this fall under the Privacy Act? Apparently they are reposing a lot of cars these days. How do they expect us to pay any other bills if they keep piling on charges. We have told them they can keep the vehicle. This company takes huge advantage of working class people in an already struggling economy. I will tell everyone I know to never do business with Citfinancial.

Ooooooooo, I don't even know where to start. I bought a vehicle 2 years ago and it was financed by citifinancial Auto. Bigggggg mistake! over the last two years I have not been late not once.

Until, Now...I got laid off in July, my husband got laid off in august...(gotta love our economy lol)... September brought hurricane Ike which caused over 20 thousand dollars in damage to my home. Mind you my husband and I have been on the job search like mad men. And with the slowing economy we have found nothing. We applied for unemployment and got it but come one they don't pay well. lol.

important note: my uncle co signed for me to help me get a better interest rate. And he passed away 2 days ago.

To get to the point I am 60 days past due. I call citifinancial to tell them that I will be making a payment on friday everything that was due and I just wanted a balance with all fee's and pens included. Here's where is gets bad.

The lady Irean who is my account worker answers the phone takes my info and says...Did your co buyer pass...I said excuse me? where did you hear that...she says I called him today and someone told me he passed. ...I said yes he did on monday...and she says are you sure?...Yes I said ...and then she says "I don't think you are telling me the truth his office said he died on sunday"

at my wits end at this point I yelled at her "the medical examiner said he passed between 11:45 pm and 12:15 am so you tell me what freekin day it was" She then says well mam unless you give me the full amount past due right now we will have to send an agent to check on our property." I told her calmly I can not pay you till friday ...then she asks is there someone in your family you can barrow the money from?

ok at this point I am beyond HOT I said " yes mam when I read the eulogy tomorrow at the funeral I will be sure to add in. can anyone loan me a few bucks"

so then this lady tells me that an agent went to my uncles house 3 days ago and asked him to call me and ask me to bring the car to his house she says my uncle refused to make the call.

guess I can't ask him about that now can I?

needless to say I hung up on her called back and spoke to someone else and resolved most of the issues with my vehicle but not the issues of how rude this woman was.

also, a nice note! the next person I spoke with there said they had no record of an agent visiting my uncle.

Ireen lied !
And my poor dead uncle couldn't even tell me that she lied!

this is how low this company will stoop

CitiFinancial Servicing Worst company I've ever dealt with

CitiFinancial has been so rude to me and is the worst company I've ever dealt with! I was in a car accident in April of '08... I am now going into 3months of being without a car b/c of them. I have called everyday to make sure they got the insurance check, gap check, and then the balance due after that b/c I had a deferred payment that they assured me would not mess up my account if I took that option... don't believe that one! They are saying my account is passed due for 2 months and that I needed to pay it because it was being reported to the credit bureau... They told me in an earlier conversation that during the time insurance and everything that it would not be reported. My question is, why when you are getting paid from insurance and gap would I continue to make payments during this time? Then you would just have 2 or 3 extra payments from me that you are doing what with? SCAM ARTISTS! But everytime I talk to them I can never get a straight answer. They give me the run around and then people they have in their customer service dept. are the poorest excuse for human beings that I've ever had to deal with. They argued with me and told that I was not listening to them, they are extremely rude, in the middle of me trying to ask them a question they just put me on hold w/o any notice, I asked to speak to a manager and she was an ever bigger... fill in the blank... I told her that if she would let me ask my question without being put on hold or INTERRUPTED (which they are infamous for doing) then maybe I wouldn't get so upset. The woman told me that I was stubborn and needed to be quiet and listen to her... Dealing with them has been the worst nightmare I've ever had to deal with. Poor customer service, poor communication, poor management,... the list goes on. There is not one even remotely good thing I could say about them!

Recently may account was behind..Most recently by a whopping $35.00, They continued to call me three to 5 times a day. I have asked them to stop calling, I informed them that it would be taken care of the next week (this was on a friday). Yet the continued to call upto 5 times a day. I have gotten to the point of cursing them out which they usually hung up on me. On person said not to talk to them that way and it was harrasment the way I was talking, I asked the if the tought it was harrassment the way they call me so much and she didn't seem to think so. I have found one way to get them off the phone pretty quick. I have started to record all of their phone calls. I informed them that I WAS recording the call and they say that they are not authorized to speak to me if I was recording the call and asked me to stop. I said if you record my calls I have the right to record yours. I received 2 more calls and informed both people that I was recording them and after that the calls have stopped. Just a suggestion. I have no house line, just my cell phone and most cell phones have the ability to record. Mine even beeps every minute to back up my claim of recording them. When I sent in my bill I included a not that I will no longer accept phone calls and all coorispondance will be handled though the mail and any more phone call will be considdered harrassment.

Good luck, these people a greedy self centered a$$holes

You know i Just got done dealing with someone who cant even speak english. I couldnt believe it when the person on the phone couldnt get me to a person who spoke english because they are not located in the US. I am outraged, I am so pissed off. Companies like this shouldnt be allowed to do business in the united states. Its companies like this that have helped flush this country down the toilet. As soon as I can I am paying them off and when I do buy another car I will make sure i do business with an american company. Problem is do they even exist anymore?

I too have been having serious problems with Citifinancialauto My payment is 358.44 a month out of that 261.60 is applied to interest! My car I bought from toyota in muscle shoals alabama. while the rep @ toyota was very nice. This loan company is so horrible that I am recommending that ppl do not buy from toyota or use citi either. I have recently lost my job and i was told by a rep that i could get a refigure on my pymts to make them lower. Now they tell me that I don't qualifiy I had another rep tell me that I had to be behind 3 pymts before they would refigure pymts. They tell you they don't want to reposses the car that's up to me weather i default or not. They have agent #'s but don't want to give them to you over the phone. Ask for a supervisor they put you on hold for 10 min often ending with a disconnect. Lucky my mother is willing to help but it's only because my father just died that she has the money. I do not recommend citi to anyone. the phone system is impossible to navigate. so i put in my info and them press 0 three times to get to rep. who then gives a line of b.s. and transfer me to 'another dept" which has no label. Good luck with dealing with this lot of babbling idiots and their management.

Yes, indeed they are some Rude, Nasty, DisRecpectful, human beings. Can we even call them humans? I am facing an issue with citi fi auto. And the Representatives, Team Leaders, Managers, Supervisors are terrible people to deal with. And the thing I hate the most, that they show their ... because they are on the phone, and cause you live in another state. And they know they can get away with talking to people how they fill because no one is checking up on their people skills. They record us for so called Quality assurance purpose, but no one actually check those things and to to the rep. that's being so Nasty. I think it is time that Ms. Mary McDowell Ceo/ President of citi financial Auto do some investigations, a clean house. Clean House.

CitiFinancial Servicing Scam

Was contacted on 4/7 by Angelica of Citifinancial Auto Loss Control division was told that insurances had made their payments and the remaining balance of $998.26 was left owing and would I want to make a settlement payment of $650 to pay it off. I stated that I would. She then told me she would check with her supervisor and call me back.

I called them back on 4/18 and left a message. I called back on 4/28 and talked to Tim Sharp who told me that Angelica was no longer their and I would be working with him. He told me he would check with his supervisor and to call him back the next day. I did and was again told to call back in a day or two. I did again and was told he didn't have an answer but he would call me back. I gave them my home phone, my work and my cell. He never called.

On 5/12 I called and talked to a Mr. Cast who told me that it was approved for the $650 and I asked for 2 payments to be made on 5/23 and 6/23. He told me I could wire the money by Western Union and I asked if a certified check from my bank would work. He said it would. I asked if he was sending out a letter or statement showing this agreement and where to send the money and he stated that it would be mailed.

On 6/11 the collection recovery office called and Michael notified me that no settlement had been made and I now owed $1, 742.22. I was informed that they knew nothing about the other settlement offer because they were in a different office. I then asked to speak with his supervisor. He told me he would have them call me back. Nothing happened so I called them on 6/13 and waited on hold listening to music for 15 minutes before hanging up. I tried all of the numbers to see if it would let me put in an extension and it would not.

On 6/16 I called and finally spoke with Mary Beckhold who told me my loan had been charged off and that I now owe $1, 801.46 and that if I paid $950.00 or 50% it would show on my credit report as charged off and paid. I then told her I was contacting the Consumer Protection Agency as to the practices of them offering a settlement and then letting it go and never giving me an answer in order to raise the loan amount up. I think it was because I only had the loan for 1 1/2 years before the accident and they are trying to get some of the money they lost on the loan.

Your insurance paid the replacement value of the vehicle and the only "loss" they incurred would have been the balance owed after the settlement. They were not trying to recoup their losses. Did you ever pay the settlement? If not, you were aware there was a balance owed and should have continued with your normal monthly payment until you finalized the settlement. The account would have had to be 180 days past due to charge-off, and collection efforts would have continued until it did. Contact the Recovery Department now working the account as a charge-off and make a settlement arrangement with them for the remaining balance.

Contact the Dispute Resolution department. Your information could have been used by a third party to fradulently obtain credit. Unfortunately, it is the consumers responsibility to dispute and prove they did not sign for the loan. Since it was reported on your credit bureau, the loan was obviously obtained using your social security number. There is a process in place to verify if it was a case of identity theft and it is up to you to provide the information and documents necessary to pursue it.

CitiFinancial Servicing Misapplied payment

Citifinancial Mortgage Company, Inc. lost or misapplied my March 2008 payment. After numerous phone calls, most of which were with people who could not speak English very well, I finally got a supervisor named Dave who had me fax [protected]) in a copy of my cleared check, front and back, to prove that I had indeed made the March payment. He assured me that with that documentation the matter would be cleared up within a week. That was two months ago. After many harassing collections calls (some very late at night) and having to repeat the situation over and over again as well as receiving numerous letters threatening loan acceleration and foreclosure, I finally got another supervisor named Brigitte who assured me that as soon as I faxed [protected]) in a copy of my cleared check, front and back, she would make sure the proper research department would find the missing payment. Surprise! Nothing was done! I finally got a customer service rep who was willing to "help" me and she gave me a direct fax line to the research department [protected]) (which unbelievably does NOT have any direct phone numbers, can you believe that? Nope, I don’t either). I wrote a long letter explaining the situation as well as provided copies of the first check, front and back, that was lost and since by now I had made another payment that had cleared my bank, I also provided a copy of that one, front and back. By the way, both of these checks have very clear Citifinancial endorsements on the backs. I faxed all of this documentation in to the research department 8 days in a row. I figured since they can't seem to get their poop in a group, I would inundate them with information and surely out of all of those 10 faxes that I sent in, at least ONE of them would arrive on the desk of someone that would be willing to DO THEIR JOB. But no, I was wrong in that assumption. They still have not credited my account for the missing payment, even after proving numerous times that it was, and I have a negative comment on my credit report. I have invested hours and hours in phone calls, faxes, letter writing, etc., all to no avail. I am starting to believe that this is a fraudulent scam that Citifinancial is running. It really makes one wonder if there is a foreclosure crisis in this country or if it is just Citifinancial Mortgage screwing their customers.

I think all who complain about citi are crazy everyone of you act as if your victims like you get calls just because .you get call because you all dont pay your bills! on time! citi offers programs to help you bad customers out! and you still complain! If you would pay your payments on time you would not even be in this position! just send on time with your staement stub you get in the mail stop playing victim to what you created! pay consistant from the get go as you agreed in contract to do! STOP BAD MOUTHING CITI! they try to help and offer everthing they can to help good and bad people to keep there house or get up to date on there loans. some who dont even deserve it! Im sick of hearing people act victim to what they caused for themselves!

CitiFinancial Servicing Getting a payoff

I was only 4 days late on my June 2008 payment. I went to purchase another car and because the June payment was not received as of that day, Citifinancial would not release a 10 day payoff, then they hung up on me after I called and explained it made no sense for them to deny me this information. Afterall, they were going to be paid EITHER WAY. This company as it's employee's trained to be bullies when it comes to collecting payments. To me, it would never be an attempt to collect a debt, it's just flat out harrassement! I encourage everyone to NEVER use Citifinancial for ANY purchase.

Yep, I agree with the above... they are bullies.. I have had the worst conversations with them and at work no less. they all know at my job not to deal with citi finanancial just by listening to my phone conversations.. and I am usually in tears by the time I hang up with them.

CitiFinancial Servicing False negative credit markings

I typically charge furniture when the no interest no payment deal is going on. Prior to the promotion being up i will pay up to $100.00 per month so that the balance is zero when the promotion is up. Well i decided to charge something else a few months prior to the end of the promotion and they applied several payments to the new account, causing that balance to go down but the old balance was not coming down. Well the promotion ended for the old balance and then i started accruing late fees and finance charges (at the time i had no idea, i admit i was not checking my statement). I then then stopped making payments, thinking that i didn't have to because of the plan that i am on. Well my credit was affected and balance grew higher and higher. Until i looked at my statement and noticed the high balance. I then sent in a letter to dispute all the finance charges and late fees. Well they did correct the balance on the account however failed to correct the negative markings on my credit. they currently have me listed as being late from 9/07 until 1/08. I am now asking for managers on this situation because they found their error but only fixed a portion of it. I have been hung up on and hung up on and transfered over and over again. I am pissed!

CitiFinancial Servicing Beware!

I will never do business with Citifinancial Retail Services!

I bought a bed through them and paid off the balance, only to get another bill for financial services. When I called, they gave me some B.S. on needing to pay interest by day.

You have to call and ask what is the amount you have to pay in order to discontinue services. When I asked if paying the amount listed on the bill will eliminate my services, he said no "that's just the balance." There are hidden fees that will continue to charge you for even if you pay the balance.

I have almost paid twice what the bed is worth from all the finance charges and B.S. from this company.

I could not agree more. My wife and I got a loan with Citifinancial over 5 years ago for $8, 000 when we moved to Calgary, Alberta for work. It's 2011 and we're still paying on the damn thing with our balance having inflated to over 12 grand and a whopping interest rate of 22.99%! All this time I have been paying mostly interest, which keeps on compounding by the day, and I have no idea when the hell I'll be able to pay this off. I should have never got this loan in the first place, but we were hurting for cash and it seemed like a good solution. We are just the kind of suckers the Citi preys upon and they further your pain with their so called customer appreciation days, which only gets you further in debt to them though they don't let you know that. Citifinancial are nothing short of loan sharks and I strongly urge anyone from doing business with them as you will stuck with them for life, unless you win a damn lottery or take out a loan somewhere else just to get rid of them.

I keep on receiving these pre-approved statement. When I call the branch that is the closest to me, just now @ 6:15pm, they're like "oh sure! no problem! let me give you the phone number to call... etc" .. I cut her off right there, because it's the same BS over and over again, and I had called whatever number to stop receiving these pre-approved loan and seems like it's not working! So the woman, she F'ing puts me on hold or mute me, so it seems like i lost her; I was telling her that I didn't care that she gives me a phone number, and that SHE should take care or it! When she gets back on the phone, I was like "Did u hear me?" she replied, "Yes I did! thanks and have a nice day!" . F'ing B*!ch! I called back, and someone (else maybe) answered "yes? yes?", I'm like "Who is this?", she then replies "It's Marise Dubois". I'm like "Don't you introduce yourself when you answer the phone and you work in a bank?" She answered back "We are closed since 5:30pm!" What a f'ing BS. WORSE COMPANY EVER TO DEAL WITH!

I go online, grab the "contact us" number, where supposedly you can reach them for 24hrs, 7 days a week; guess what, "the number you are trying to reach is not a valid citi number"! ! ! ! ! ! WTF!

Hello, I was just reading your posts. Well for some reason I could not rest last night. I had some suspicions about citifinancial for a little while now. I have a citifinancial brance down the street from where I live. So to make a long story short, I make my September Payment and it was closing time. They wrote me out a receipt. So when I recieved my statement for the next month, it said there was no activity. So when I called them, they acted as if I was campletely out of my mind until I told the lady that I was coming into the office with the hand written reciept signed by the lady that took my payment. When I got to the office, all of a sudden, they found my payment. I have also experienced going to the office on a Friday, before they were supposed to close, and no one was there. So I left my payment inside the door and I was charged for beign late. The craziest is, I Had to borrow money from them just 2 weeks ago. I hated to do this but I had to. The remaining total balance on my account was $1400--give or take. I only borrowed $1500 more. Ok Yall ready for this? Principal Balance, $3200.00 - Finance Charge -- $2300----So what I dont get is, if the total owed before was only 1400, which included the finance charge because that was the total that I owed, and I only borrowed 1500.00-- Why is the Finance charge for borrowing 1500 --$2300---Keep in Mind that the TOTAL owed before getting this $1500 loan was only $1400.00. The Finance charge was included in the $1400. So I still have to pay the ($1400.00 which included the finance charge) Plus the $1, 500.00 that I borrowed Plus the $2300.00 finince charge. Yes, So again I only owed $1400.00. I borrowed $1500.00 -Fininace Charge is $2300.00. So I now have a beautiful total of $5600.00 that I owe Citifinancial. Not only that some of the information on my application is years old. They only updated certain parts. I spacificly remember telling the lady that my email name started with a T as in Tim, which is "tot" but when I looked at my application it was coc...not only that, the amount that I pay in rent was wrong. She never asked me how much rent I paid. I have not applied with them for a couple years and everyone and their great granny knows that rent Goes up every year. So I might have to add this to Mr. Obama already full plate, or send it to a radio station so they can BLAST it.

I agree! They give you the run around and they mislead you. I tried to workout paying them and they stalled me by saying you can take a personal loan out. I refused because they are already raping me. Thats when s*** hit the fan they have now sent me to court for being 2 months behind. I hate CitiFinancial with a passion! They are corrupt and thugs when is the law going to change and go after these modern day crooks!

We too have been a victim of CITIFINANCIAL RETAIL SERVICES my husband is deployed over seas
and has been since 2007, The account / debt is in his name after his deployment I sent citifinancial retail services copies of all required documents allowing me to act and or speak on my husbands behalf about this account. Well not only will citifinancial retail services NOT speak to me they claim they dont have any documents reguarding the deployment, then they all EVERY day starting at 7:00AM asking for my husband then saying he need to call them asap! I once again tell the deployment story and all I get is 'please fax all documents to our military dept.' been there done that ALL I want is to find out hhow much is owed and pay it OFF... instead citifinancial retail services desides to post NEGATIVELY to all three credit agency's That is no allowed because no company can report negative findings when a person is deployed.I've called every day for that last month trying to settle this and all CITIFINANCIAL RETAIL SERVICES can do is harass people and ruin their credit...

I will also NEVER do business with anyone or anything that is related to "Citi". I was making my $40 payment every month and right around Christmas time my payment happened to be 2 days late. They tacked on another $40 and started adding finance charges. On another occasion my payment got in their mail a day late and they charged $40 again... on a $40 payment. Ridiculous. I don't know if other Credit companies do that, but all of my other bills only charge a few cents or a couple of dollars for a late payment. They certainly do not double the payment.

It is time that Americans stand up and refuse to do business with these criminals that are only out to rip you off.

CONSUMER BEWARE!

I purchased some furniture with Rooms To Go and used their offer of 12 months no interest program. This program is through Citi Financial. If you do not pay off the balance by the 12 month due day then they charge you accrued interest. I sent my balance off to them of $2199.98 a week an a half before the due day. I did this so the check would clear in time. I called to find that they had only posted $2099.98 to my account leaving a balance of $100. I do believe the reason behind this is so they could "TRY" and collect interest on the full balance. I have dealt with this company in the past and have gone though similar problems. I am so glad I called and checked the balance or I might have had to go postal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS INSTITUTION!

Thank you HoboKitty. Your words are being heard, I hope not only to the consumers, but to an ear with authority.

I'm in the process of paying off my interest free credit - final due date in 2 weeks. I too have been worrying of a scam, late arrival of valid payment, etc. Hence my google search on this such topic. Anything that is too good to be true, 0% interest, usually is.

I'm paying off my bill today! I'll spend the extra $15 it takes to make it happen by bill pay across the phone.

I completely agree! Citifinancial is the worst company to do business with. I will NEVER use Citifinancial again for any matter and I suggest everyone else do the same. I have had repeated issues with wrong charges, horrible customer service, late fees when the payment was received on time, hidden fees and many other complaints! I am using the retail service and they only way to make a payment without being charged is by sending in a check. If you want to make a payment by phone there is a $15 charge added onto your payment. This is NOT right in any way what so ever! I fully know that they are NOT charged $15 to process a payment like they claim! This company is extremely unethical and fradulent! NEVER USE CITIFINANCIAL FOR ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! I hope this company is shut down for their horrible practices!

CitiFinancial Servicing Forgery of signature

I went into the fullerton branch to refinance my loan. By an error on my part, I did not have all the documentation I needed and had to reschedule the meeting for a later date. I did not sign anything - nor did I give authorization fo for anything. When I returned to work, I was notified by my payroll department that a representative from citifinancial had forged my signature on a "verification of employment" form. This is a legal document that requests personal payroll information. The signature looks nothing like mine, and when I contacted the branch to dispute their actions - they all but called me a liar! I have since contacted the supervisory citifinancial offices.

CitiFinancial Servicing Terrible company!

My husband and I went to Citi Financial last August looking to consalidate some bills. We went in with high hopes because they seemed so interested in helping us with our situation over the phone. The lady working on our application said that our credit scores were great, which we already knew because we are subscribers to Credit Inform. She said we qualified for a home equity 1 loan. We were so excited to finally get from underneath the pressures of some of our bills. Little did we know that the pressure was going to get worse. The loan officer told us that our interest rate was going to be 20.99%. That since our credit was so good we avoided getting the 25.99% rate. My husband and I were speechless.

There was nothing we could do. We didn't have the time to apply anywhere else. We were in such a financial mess. We were not behind on our bills yet but we had loss some of our monthly income. We had to take the hand that was dealt to us and she knew that. I would advise anyone that has the time to weigh their options to stay out of citifinancial. I am suffering through a loan payment that is literally half interest and half payment.

By the time my husband and I pay off this loan (in the next 4 1/2 years), we will have paid them almost $9, 000.00 in interest and that is only $3, 500.00 shy of what we borrowed.

You may file a lawsuit against citi. Contracts must be legal, not one sided and the interest rate cannot be excessive. Talk to a lawyer and tell him/her about other complaints about citi.

CitiFinancial Servicing Fraudulent service offered

Reference Number: [protected].
On 12-Mar-2008, I paid Rs.3, 309.00, Receipt Number: 1078901. The amount was full and final settlement against a loan taken to buy a Refrigerator.
Your Executive Mr. Sharma assured me that the Post Dated Cheques will be delivered within a few days o my residence address. Instead of returning it was produced in the month of March and April which is cleared from my account, causing me a lot of inconvenience.
When I called the Helpline they were very rude while answering my query and I was asked to directly go to the Malad west branch where I had made the cash payment to collect the excess cash which was collected by Citifinancial.
After this conversation I was out of station for some personal work and returned after a month and a half.
Approached your Malad west branch but the service that I have received is pathetic.
A Lady at the reception was very ill mannered.
I entered the office and there was no one at the reception and later this lady came from inside and asked one of her colleagues about my presence in the office. And the other lady answered in hindi "Abhi Aaya Hai" The receptionist asked "Kyo Aaya Hai"? She replied "Mujhe Nahin Pata".
Looking towards me that Lady asked in a very harsh voice, "Kya Chahiye"? I replied in English, "Refund". She said "Teen din se hamare systems down hai aur pata nahin kab tak down rahenga, aap apna ID proof de do, Hum aapko aapka jo bhi refund cheque hoga aapke address pe bhijwa denge". I asked if I could approach someone else for my refund. The Lady replied, "Jahan bhi Citifinancial office ho waha jaiye" I asked for the nearest location and she started making faces on me and sounded ridiculous. Murmuringly she answered “Kandivali, Amboli jahan marji ho waha jaiye”. She meant, that I must go anywhere I like but leave her office rightaway.
I walked out of the branch receiving unbelievable service.
I request you to please solve this issue and return me my money which you have taken and used for several months despite of paying the balance by cash. I am very unhappy by the kind of service that your company and your staff provide. So in the future I would not like to do any business with your company and would like you to return my money by cash or cheque within 2 days or else I will lodge a police complaint against your company and your staff for such a horrible service.
Also, please give customer service training to your staff as they are helping your company to loose genuine customers.

CitiFinancial Servicing That is a scam

Financed Furniture bought at Haverty's through Citifinancial. However, they didn't mail a statement until the 1st bill was late so they charged a $39 late fee and finance charge, after we went to Haverty's and told them we haven't got a bill yet- they said don't worry- you will! Yes- we did FINALLY- What a great deal- it was suppose to be no interest until 2011- so much for that. Charged a late fee before we even get a statement- I say that is a scam. Don't fall for it- they waste no time screwing it up so you will pay interest, like not mailing the statement until the payment is late.

I agree! I had this same problem I have still been unable to get this fixed. Now I currently have several problems with this company and what they are doing! This is only one of many problems I am haveing with them! I have no way to check the bills other that what they send me! Have three accounts 1 is being finiance and two that are 1yr same as cash but they do not apply the money to the right accounts and will not change the payments and apply them to the proper accounts even though the bills clearly state what accounts they are to! And the intrest rate is 24.99 which is over the top! The customer service is clearly in need of an adjustment! This also concerns me after seeing that my tax dollars may possible be used to help this company! This is one company that should not be bailed out!

CitiFinancial Servicing No response from them

Have tried to contact citifinancial for almost a week w/o getting through on their 1800phone number.

I have email access too, but no response to questions to my email address.

I guess I will have to send payments by post office overnight...? What is going on? Not a happy customer and this is just the tip of the iceberg with Citifinancial Mortgage. We have other issues too.

Does anyone at Citifinancial really know anything?

I have concern for anyone wanting to finance with this corporation. If I hear from them today, or can get through to a representative, I will gladly change my remarks. Thanks

I agree with everyone on this comment board and I am so sorry to hear about all the trouble that you are all having. This is the reason I started my company. I have helped several people that have mortgages with ASC, Countrywide, and other mortgage companies that don't seem to care if they harass people or suck them dry. The comments I have heard are along the lines of trying to get blood from a stone or turnip, or something like that.

I have a service that actually will take you out of the loop of contact with ASC, or Countrywide or whomever you have servicing your loan. All you have to do is tell me how we can help you. By that I mean, tell us what you are looking for us to do for you and we will pursue the help that you want, no matter what. We have all aspects of the mortgage business covered from being a mortgage mediation company, a title company, a real estate company, all the way to having access to attorneys for litigation or help to avoid foreclosure. No aspect of help is turned away.

Let me tell you, most of the customers that I deal with have told me about the fear and the frustration of working with mortgage companies that don't seem to care or give them the runaround. To be totally fair, mortgage companies have their ways of dealing with people. Some are good, some are horrible. But one thing all mortgage companies love is being vague. When they are vague, they don't have to give you information until you ASK for it. How does that help you? How can you try to save your home if you don't know how to ask the right questions?

That’s another reason why I created this company. I take your number out of their "system". When they mail you something, it goes to me. I take the burden away from you so you can live your life without the phone calls and the letters. And the rudeness! Oh, man, if I told you some of the stories I have heard...let's just say, it’s not pretty.

I know that some people are going to look at this comment and go, this guy is trying to drum up business. Well, you're right. But here's the kicker. I used to work in mortgage collections. I used to make the phone calls and send the letters. I used to work around the people that make your lives hell. And I kept asking myself, why? Why are these people not being told about the help that’s readily available? Why are these people not being helped to make payment arrangements that are realistic? Why does this company care more about the money than about customer service when that is supposed to be their primary objective?

That's why I got out. I can not stand collections. Just because they are hiding behind a company name they think that they can say anything or act anyway they like with the customers, being friendly with one and the next 40-50 they can treat like crap. Where is the customer service?

I take all that frustration away from you and create solutions that work. I know that it may be hard to swallow, but I do. I have done it for several people. And I can do it for you too. If you want more specifics or just want to talk to me, call my office at [protected] and check out the website, which is being updated with a few new options available. And this isn't just for people facing foreclosure, people that are current and want to pay off their home early, call me. I can and will help as many people as I am able to. What have you got to lose? Website address is http://www.onlybusiness.com/members/RealtyMediationService...and if not for you, best of luck. In all your endeavors.

I have been searching for others with the same issues that I have with CIti-Financial. I have a loan with them, secured by my home. We got behind on the payments and with our first mortgage. We were working with our mortgage company and stayed in contact with our local office to help resolve this. We got a repayment plan with our mortgage company and tried to work payment with our local Citi-Financial, the manager there was so rude and hateful and proceeded to tell my husband how she didn't have time for his bs and tired of his ###. She also refered to him by his brothers name. Well, he corrected her and stated he was not his brother and was not to be refered to as him. She actually slammed her hands on her desk and raised he hand at my husband. Well he walked out, she was so mad and if he would have sat there he feels should would have finished her swing and hit him. We tried to file a complaint no one would help. No ne can even provide a number or even name of the district manager, like its a big secret.
Since this we have gotten current on the loan and able to walk into a different office to make our payments. Last week I received a letter from an attorney's office stating they are filing suit for a judgement against us on this loan. I spoke with the office and was informed since the payments were sporatic, they could get a judgement to secure payment. We got 3 payments behind(first time ever).
Now all I am getting from their customer service is that I must contact the location. Now why should I put myself in harms way of walking into that office. I have never gone thru so many people to be told there is nothign I can do for you. Now I have left a message form their legal department. Now here is the big one, I had to change my number due to their harrassment and do not want them to have my current number. They called me daily, I still have all the messages on my old answerign machine, with time and dates...There are days I received two and three messages from their office.
Are there any suggestions out there. My first thought is to get my papers in order and contact an attorney and file suit against the branch manager, employees and Citi-Financial.

CitiFinancial Servicing Harassing calls

Citifinancial retail services since april the 7th have called my office 31 times with some calls being two minutes apart on an account that was only 14 days past due. According to their staff member who would only identify himself as ken id# 6485 who stated "we will call you as often as we like every day". I urge all consumers who are in the same position to file a complaint with the federal trade commission for violation of section 616 and 617. This is totally un-acceptable as that feel that can harass anyone at anytime of the day. There defence has been that we do not have record of the calls however I kept a log and urge all to do the same. Their staff is arrogant and extremely rude sometimes hanging up on me when I question them as to the amount of calls made daily. The female staff members who are black in most cases that I have dealt with are very smart and combative.

I was 3 weeks late with a payment and Zally from CIti Finacial has called my work 5 or 6 times a day harassing me about my payment. told me they are taking legal action and told me to stop making excuses and pay my bills.
She was rude and yelled at me and proceeded to hang up on me.
They are the worse company in the world to deal with and I will never recommend them to anyone for any reason.

DO NOT FINANCE THROUGH THIS COMPANY

My bill was late by two days and I was not even aware. I believe that my bill was late due to the mail just not making it in time but either way for over a year I have never missed a payment. I started receiving phone calls at home and work several times a day and when I would answer an automated message would say it was citi financial and I needed to hold for an important message. No one would ever pick up and it would just disconnect. I finally got someone to talk me after 4 days of this. I was harassed and asked personal questions like- DO I still work, How do I get payed, Does my spouse work, Am I having financial issues. They even told me that I had a great payment history with them but still harassed me over the two days late. They told me I had to pay the late fee plus bill now. I even asked to speak to a supervisor but she was no help and just deflected my questions with what I assume was company answers. When I did pay them over the phone I was told I would probably still receive three more phone calls over that night. There is no grace period with this company so MRMCVTF you are wrong they don't care if you are late 1 day it’s a 40 day late fee. I agree pay your bill but come on what company does not have same window of grace period. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN.

Why don't you just pay your bill on the due date? You are in default once you miss your due date, you get 10 days before a late charge applies. Keep complaining or read your contract. They had the money for you when you need it, now you have to pay it back... how hard is that?

Hi I'm located here in Albany, Georgia. I pray I pay this company off soon. I work at a facility where we have sick patients and these two people that work at citifinancial call constantly (Tanya and Joe Allen)with no respect to my job asking me to borrow money from people which is very ignorant while would do this when I'm behind in my bills and also telling me if I don't they will take me to magistrate court and take my money when I'm trying to work over time to play catch up for unforseen circumstances which is happening to everyone and if your pay record has been good they should try to understand but they don't care I really pray and hope they realize that people are under pressure right now and they never know when someone might lose it and God knows what could happen people will do anything to protect there kids to keep a roof over their heads and food on their tables so if you are promising to come in a pay on a date you will have the money while ask you to write check that you know you don't have the funds in your account and get you in more trouble. I never knew such ignorant BAMA'S as these two are. At this point and time I'll quit my job just to keep from giving them the chance to garnish my wages when I'm asking them to give me two days to catch up.

As a business owner...these phone calls for employees are very fustrating. The employee doesn't wish to speak with them here at work...but they still call 3-4 times a day. We have asked them not to call and to please call the employee at home...but they continue to call. He/We have told them he doesn't speak english (which he doesn't) ...but they only have English speaking people call over and over. We have told them he is not allowed to recieve personal calls...and she hung up on me...they still continue to call. The call themselves different names ...sometimes spelling out C.. I...T...I...Citimortgage...CitiFinancial...but yet always ask for the same employee...HOW CORRUPT IS THAT...always comes up as Out of Area...so I can't call the main office even if I wanted to. Now...I feel sorry for the individual...can you imagine what calls his home phone is getting. But seriously, this is my business phone...he doesn't pay for this phone, nor MY time...but I can't seem to figure out what to do about it. It has only been 3 days and we are receiving 3-4 phone calls a day...I assume it's going to get worse!

I have had a very similar experience with this company. I took out an unsecured loan, and just recently got a garnishment for old medical bills. Manager named Andy and his chronies (office staff) would call me at work and try to argue with me why I wasn't able to pay them, after I had already tried to work something out with them.

My advice, avoid this company ... period.

CitiFinancial Servicing Harassment!

This company is horrible when it comes to customer service. I have been behind on my payment, but never 30 days or more! My payment is due in the 9th of the month and on the 10th they are calling my phone and my husbands phone sometimes up to 6 times everyday EACH! I consider this harassment! I know I am not the only customer who has ever been late on a payment, and I am positive that there are many customers who are VERY behind. After speaking to them they asked me several questions like... Why is the payment late, Will it be on time next month...! My problem with that is they are RUDE! They make you feel like you are the only customer they have that has ever been late and talk to you like trash. It's obvious if i didn't pay on time that I don't have the money, and I don't know if I will pay on time next month, I need to make sure my children are fed and have a roof over their head first. They don't care to hear about your hardship, they just want their money. I sure the person on the other end of the phone has been through a tough time at one time or another. Maybe they should realize if it were not for people like us using their company, they wouldn't have jobs to pay the bills they are probably behind on too. I am in the process of trading in my car just to get rid of this company. I would never recommend Citifinancial Auto to anyone.

why don, t you all pepole pay on time and avoid all these things. you people are trying to cover your bad repayment with all this nonsense.

it is your legal and social obligation to pay on time .No bank will call you and have to spend so much on collection efforts which makes loan costlier for other good repayment customer.

I absolutely agree! I'm full on board to file harassment charges against this company. I have only cosigned for my mother to get a car years ago, and she has never been over 30 days late. She has since fell on hard times and has begged for help with them. They said pay one payment and we'll defer the next, and then changed their mind and would not defer. Then, the second day after her due date, they are blowing up my phone and hers. This is harassment. She takes care of this account, and they need to work this out with her first, then if nothing can be worked out, contact me. But they refuse to work with her at all. She has always paid all of her bills. She's not trying to get out of paying, just needs some consideration. This is THE worst company I have ever come across. They are very rude. There are many companies today working with their clients in this horrible economic depression, and this definitely is not one that cares about its clients at all. I will never do business with them again, and will post these complaints everywhere I can find a place to.

I've been a customer of Citifinancial Auto for two years and have never been over 30 days late. If you do not pay within 10 days the collection phone calls begin and come nearly every single day. It doesn't matter what you tell them. If you say" I'll make that payment on the 25th" they'll still continue to call you every day until the 25th. There is no such thing as "arrangements". Their attitude is that if "it is unpaid than we will continue to call". This company was a recipient of Federal Stimulis money and continue's to "waste time and money" on duplicate calls to people who don't have a record of paying over 30 days. I have programmed the numbers they call me from in my phone and I note the days and times they call. The numbers I have are; [protected] (call originates from Ft Mill, SC), [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected]. If any of these numbers show up in your phone, it is Citifinancial Auto.
This is not collection, this is "harassment" and it's time we start petitioning the government to stop them from these "rotary" call practices.

No, they don't care about your hardship. You promised to pay them a certain amount of money on a certain day every month. If you couldn't afford it, you shouldn't have bought it.
