For those of you who would like a phone number for these people, I just called them. It is 1-877-481-6825. I only got refunded two months of my recurring credit card charge of 12.00, however they gave me an address to write and try to get the rest back. It is:

Yeah, I went online to get a "FREE" credit report and ended up paying $12.00 a month for nothing!!! Of course there was no refunds given to me... what else is new.

My complaint is I am on hold now as I am e-mailing this, and, some employee at CIC Triple Advantage put me on hold without telling me she was going to do it, her name she gave is TRISH, and I am not disputing the $12.00 fee, because, duh, it states it is free but, if you continue after a certain time you will be charged a monthly fee. I went past the time frame, I was charged, I merely wanted to get some credit info corrected on my Son's credit report, sorry, but, she has an accent, and her language skills are not clear!? I have talked two people in India today and I understand their ENGLISH!

Sure they go ahead and charge 12.95 a month. I GO TO LOG IN FOR THE PAST 3 DAYS AND it says my account doesn't exist!!! I reset my password, was able to do that just fine so I know they have me in the system. But I can't even review the c report. What a scam.

What a scam. I am always diligent about any financial transactions online. I cannot believe I let these guys burn me. I called to cancel and had to tolerate an ongoing sales pitch for a service I never wanted, never used and could not access. I finally lost my temper, got rude and they relented and cancelled. No refund, since there was an opportunity for me to utilize this mystery service they provided.

I have just gotten off the phone with both my bank and CIC Triple Advantage. CIC has agreed to take the $12.95 charge for March and the pending charge for April off of my credit card. I was prepared to contact someone at the Federal Level had the charges not been removed. The spokesperson for CIC tried to tell me that I had a 30 day free trial period after which I did not cancel, but I refused to accept this explanation. I have all of the emails that have come regarding my initial request of the free report, and no such information is included. I actually got in contact with the company through my bank's credit card complaint service, who had the number and connected me.

This site has been very helpful because I found all of these complaints immediately before I ever contacted my bank.

So I also discovered this $12.95 charge on my card. My complaint is not only about the charge for a service I don't use. It's also the fact that they charged it on an old card that I lost and cancelled and it still went through, when the card shouldn't work.

There were unauthorized charges on my account for $27.90 for five months. I just caught it today. I used the number to call CIC and at first they told me that I would only get one payment of $13.90 credited back to my card but I raised hell and apparently should receive full compensation within the next 7-10 business days.

This free credit report thing sucks they've been charging me for months and it didn't dawn on me till today that the free credit report that i had months ago was charging me. I thought it was supposed to be "free?"

I did sign up for a 30 day trail. Then today ( 04/29/07) I noticed on my on-line bank site I was charged $12.95. Thanks for the number I just now called and canceled my membership before it got out of hand.

I never even knew i had an account for cic triple advantage or cic * ce credit manager until i checked my bank statement and it said 9.95 and 12.00 i just checked it today. It actually overdrew my account. They claimed that i had the account since november 2006 and i never knew anything about this. I only got refunded 9.95 and the 12.00 from this month. It doesn't make any sense at all.

You have to have your account number to submit any information to the CRG address. If you don't have that, they can't help you, so you have to call in and speak to someone anyway.

Thank you for posting this! I was able to call and waited on hold for a while - but I spoke to a southern sounding woman who was able to cancel the account and refund me 2 months of service. Since I have been paying for 3 months - I was ok with being out $12.95 in the end... as long as I get this all cleared up!

I have been calling these people for two week to cancel this charge and was not able to get through. There was a recording that said normal business hours was from 6am to 5 pm. That was between the times I was calling. So I call again and ask for a new user name and when they got on the phone I gave them a ear full. Luckily to say I got the thing canceled and 3 months refunded.

I wish everyone the best trying to get though to these people.

What I'd like to know is how in the world they got my debit card number. I live in Europe. My bank is in Europe. My debit card in from a European bank. I'm planning to move back to the US. Asked for this FREE credit report to see how things are for me back home. Then I get this charge in my bank account. What is this??? I said to myself. What a scam. These guys should be put in jail for fraud. I'm going to talk to my lawyer right now.

This is really a scam! I just got off the phone and they said it was now cancelled which I thought was great since I didn't order it to begin with. Pass the word along to all of your email buddies this "company" should be put out of business!

Signed up for a free credit report and never gave consent to withdraw money from my credit card. 8 months later, the scoundrels have stolen over $100, and now I have to take the time to dispute it. Its ridiculous.
