Charging for a free credit report after. I was charge for 3 months of service after requesting my free credit report. No chance or notification was given to accept service after free report. This is just a bad practice and a Scam. It may be legal but they are taking advantage of a free offer that doesn't turn out to be free.

YES I ALSO AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS CREDIT REPORTING.I GO TO TRIPLE ADVANTAGE AND GET SENT TO FREE CREDIT REPORT.COM.CANNOT ENTER INTO WHAT I AM PAYING FOR.

I would like to start by saying that I am not a representative of CIC. I am a customer just like you all. At first I has all of the same thoughts as many of you, then I did my research. I now use the service for a few months out of every year.


It can be used to your advantage. The free trial period is just that. Check it out, if you don't like it or need it cancel immediately. If your not sure right off, mark your calendar or set an alarm to remind you of the last day that it is free and how to cancel.

What you must recognize is that if you made it to the Triple Advantage section you are now in 2 programs. Your basic Free Credit Report.com program and Triple Advantage, an upgraded program (I accidentally signed up for it once, too.Never used it just cancelled. I lost a little money on it, but that the price you pay when you don't pay attention).

With Free Credit Report.com you can manuever around the site and use the services that suit you. I discovered that company that I do business with randomly check my credit without my authorization which I was then able to address with them directly. The service also allowed me to dispute incorrect information and post my own responses to creditor information that is also viewable to anyone checking credit. I also discovered that some of my best accounts don't even report to the credit bureaus (what a kick in the teeth.) That let me know to refinance somewhere that does report.

So I sign up for the service, address any issues that I may have on the report. Pay for it long enough to verify the resolution and then cancel.
