Trying to cancel my subscription

Just lost my job..trying to cancel all the necessities... called this company today, spoke to "May" in Calif. Explained that I wanted to cancel as of today... she began by telling me that I was paid to 9/17 so why not let the plan ride at least till then, mean-while I would have enough time to check my credit report (which I have never used) I explained that I already belong to another program with monthly access to my reports, but she kept giving me the "run around" and would not cancel. She told me to call back after the 17th...but by that time, I will be charged another $12.95.... what to do about this situation? Can my bank be notified to stop all drafts from them???

I called CIC Tripple Advantage Credit Agency on 3/27/08 at 10:20 AM and explained that I wanted to cancel as of today. "Jake" began by telling me that I was paid to the 2nd week of April mean-while I would have enough time to check my credit report (which I have never used) I explained that I already belong to another program with access to my report, but he kept giving me the "run around" and refused to cancel. He told me to call back after the 2nd week of April. I've learned that NONE of these companies are FREE. I am thinking about contacting my credit card company and complaining to them about the situation.
