Trying to cancel my subscription

Just lost my job..trying to cancel all the necessities... called this company today, spoke to "May" in Calif. Explained that I wanted to cancel as of today... she began by telling me that I was paid to 9/17 so why not let the plan ride at least till then, mean-while I would have enough time to check my credit report (which I have never used) I explained that I already belong to another program with monthly access to my reports, but she kept giving me the "run around" and would not cancel. She told me to call back after the 17th...but by that time, I will be charged another $12.95.... what to do about this situation? Can my bank be notified to stop all drafts from them???
