Childrens BOMC Book of the month club Scam

I also had the same problem as another poster. My M/C was charged $74.16 saying that it covers my fulfill commitment, and I don’t even get the books. When I noticed this charge on my card I immediately called my bank and they told me that I would have to file a dispute. So I did this and they also have to cancel my card and then issue me another. I was very confused as to how this company charged this card because I had removed it from their website and omg I gave them another card. I then went to the BOM website and found that they do state that at any time they can use any cards that have been removed. I thought this was illegal. My bank also told me that this dispute could take up to 45 days. I am not sure if anything will come of it or not as I have never filed a dispute before. What a mess, as now I have to worry about my other card or should I cancel that one as well.

Childrens BOMC Book of the month club TOTAL SCAM TOTAL RIP OFF STEALING FROM INNOCENT PEOPLE

This company should be shut down for predatory business practices. They sent my wife a book which we never asked for, never signed for, never gave any authorization nor agreed to any terms. They shipped the book then expected us pay to ship it back if we didnt want to be a part of their auto ship program!

Then i get a letter from eastern collection corporation for 88.24. I would rather someone come into my house and rob me in person so I can tell them to their face how I feel.

Sorry but you send me something thats your own damn fault and i would pay thousdands of dollars in attourney fees so that you dont get one dollar.

This company is a complete scam.

I suggest you contact an attorney to deal with these clowns.
These fraudulent charges can be easily reversed with the help of an attorney.
The positive thing is any reputable attorney will take this on for free and receive their payment from the actual debt collector. I know of a couple people that filed a bankruptcy and then were contacted by these BOMC to pay their bills on a discharged debt AP claim all day. Also send out dispute letters to the equifax, experian and trans union, i think these "debtors" will not respond and you will win the dispute, if they report again well then you are talking about an FDCPA claim there. Good LUCK to you all.

I see I am not the only consumer with a complaint about the practices of this company. I signed up with them more than 5 years ago. After several occasions of receiving books I did not order or requested, I cancelled my membership or at least that's what I thought. I continued to receive books which I returned unopened. I was billed for books that were returned. I spoke with a customer service representative who assured me the situation was resolved as they did receive the books I returned and I would not receive any further bills. Imagine my surprise more than 3 years later when I see an addition collection item to my credit for past due account placed in collection from CBOMC. What's makes it worse is any attempt to contact them have been unsuccessful. I think they really need to be put put of business for their fraudulent practices.,

I just received a bill from NCO Financial on behalf of the Children's BOMC. I have NEVER ordered from them, nor do I owe them money. Nor am I overdue on a payment to them. This seems to be a totally fraudulent effort to collect $87.

I find all of these complaints baffling! I have been a member for CBOMC for 5 years, and the regular BOMC for years before that. My fiance also has a CBOMC account. Neither of us have EVER been falsely charged for books, and occasionally are sent bonus books for free. There have been several occasions that I did not reply on time and books we did not want were sent to our home. In EVERY SINGLE CASE, I returned the book and the charges were removed from our account.

The post office will not return opened packages to sender for free, even if they were wrongfully sent to you - this is the policy of the US Postal Service, not Book of the Month Club. HOWEVER, if you DO NOT OPEN the package and simply write "return to sender", your postman will take them back (you do not have to pay).

Having said that, there is a law (US Code 3009) stating: If a company sends you merchandise in the mail, but you did not request it, the item is yours, and you are under no obligation to pay anything. Seems to me that unless the club can provide proof that you did, in fact, agree to their terms, order the product & keep the item, this should be an easy item to clear up with any credit bureau.

I recently had BMCTGC WITH BH G CO show up on my debit card history. I found this site after googling it. Have any of you put your information/tried to purchase/recently purchased something with books a million? That is the ONLY thing I have used my debit card for online in well over a year. I have never received any books to my house, nor have I ordered anything online. My card has been in my possession so it seems rather fishy that I now, all of a sudden, have some book related scam on my card. Anyone else buying from Books A Million?

I have a member account with book of the month club and I haven't had a major problem with them. One time I forgot to respond to my features selection and they sent me the books and billed my for them but that was my own fault for ignoring my mail. You geat really good deals with them especially if you order lots of books at one time. Most people get signed up on the site through special offers like myspace and facebook games. There is an option to become a member for game plays. People think they can agree to the offers to get the game credits and then puss out on them once there free games and first order comes out. Good luck to ya if you really didn't order but beware before you go accepting offers without reading the details first.
