Cheddars working for people who care little about their employees

I am working for managers who care very little about their employees. They change the rules cause they can. We are supposed to have an employee discount whenever we choose to come and eat at Cheddar' s and we were told when we were hired that we wont get that discount when it is the weekend and if we eat at the bar. Now they claim that we can't have a discount after 4pm and we have to clean our section first rather we are working or not. Managers like Chris are unprofessional cause he cusses around guests and has said that he does not care and he is very disrespectful to employees. Cory is a Kitchen manager who really needs to stay in the back cause he argues back and forth with guests, and not only that but he has allowed guests who did not have a form or ID to get alcohol from bar and keep it. Jen the general manager does not care what problems you have, examples 1) A server's father had to go to the hospital for a unknown reason (it turned out that he has eternal bleeding), she was told the news by a relative around 3:40pm, she explained to Jen that she had to go, all Jen said was that Cheddar's comes first in other words her problems did not matter and she was forced to stay until after 6pm., Example 2) there has been many occasions where a server had to leave cause of a family emergency, dentist appointment, doctors appointment, school and so on and so forth, she would never let the employee leave to make that appointment and would end up being late. One server missed so many days of school she has to repeat a year. Example 3) An employee had to drive her father to the hospital, she called into work and ended up talking to Anna another manager, Anne understood and said ok and be safe, the next day Jen had a fit and said Anna was wrong and put the employee on probation and said she can't work for a week. We have been told time and time again by Jen that we need to respect them, in other words we have to Kiss ###. I don't care who you are, I believe you must earn my respect not just get it cause of your title, and why should we respect anyone who disrespects us. We have to always bend over backwards for them but they can never return the favor they just take and take and take. I am sick and tired of all of this crap, Cheddar's going to fail and be closed down before the end of the year and it has barley been open for 3 or 4 months. Jen, Chris, and Cory ignore the main problems of the restaurant and make excuse after excuse of why we are not getting any better, there solution is to blame servers time and time again. They have done little to improve the situations for everyone. As if that was not enough now they are cheating employees out of there money. Hosts, bussers, and bartenders are only pay 3.65. I have worked in restaurants for over 8 years and I never heard that. The servers checks don't add up. Not only that but they made a rule that if a servers table walks out then the server will have to pay for it no matter what the amount, So now Cheddar's is going to get there money rather it is from an employee or guest. There are servers who are working 6 to 7 days a week. There are CA's who say they don't care if the quests don't get there food, and there are cooks who don't give a ### how the food comes out and only complains and are very disrespectful to other employees. I am sick and tired of this crap something has to change cause all that is going to happen is that employees are just going to keep leaving cause they are treated unfairly and the restaurant will at some point close down.

poor service and cold food it took them along time to bring us our refills on our drinks or anytime we ask for something it seem to be a problem. we would like to get our money back cause me and my family dont seem like we could enjoy our food and time out.

Cheddars Beware

I worked at Cheddars for only a few weeks. I was treated very poorly by both my coworkers and my managers. The people eating there only see the incredibly low prices and not what goes on behind the scenes. I wont go into details but the location I worked at was the worst job I have ever had and I will never eat there again let alone work for them. When I had my interview they asked what I expected from my employer and I answered "respect". I never received that for any of the days I was working there. Not one.

I won't hide the location. It's Cheddars in Allen, Tx. they seem to have quite a turn over in wait personnel. Sometimes, the wait for our food order takes an unusual amount of time (this is not due to a lot of customers). Also they will not serve bread with the meal. I complained, and ask why. The answer was, "we'd have to charge more for the meals if we served bread". That answer doesn't cut it with me. Other places we eat, have comparable prices, and bread is served.
