JPMorgan Chase no modification

Like many others I too got nothing but the run around from Chase. My loan was originally with WAMU. I'd been approved for a modification with WAMU right before they were taken over by Chase. I received a letter confirming my loan modification approval and about a month later got a so called welcome letter from Chase stating that they'd be taking over my loan. The letter went as far as to say that there would be NO CHANGES to my loan other than that the payments would now be made to Chase instead of WAMU. About 3 months into making my new mortgage payments I noticed that the payments were not being cashed by Chase so I went into the nearest branch to ask why and was told to call their mortgage department. When I called I was told that the terms of the modification were no longer applicable and that I needed to start over and reapply for a new loan modification. As much as I didn't want to I complied. I submitted all the new/updated documentation. This is where my story is just like everybody elses...I submitted and resubmitted and resubmitted and resent the same stuff over and over and over again. Each time I called in I got a different answer and a different person and 9 modification applications and 2 years and 7 months later I've gotten NOTHING except further behind on my payments because Chase will not allow me to make any payments. During this 2 year 7 month god aweful process I've now lost my job as a result of my company closing the department that I worked in and of course Chase called to tell me that they just needed a paystub and they'd be done with my modification. When I told them that I'd been laid off they told me that they can't use unemployment income to help me qualify. Never mind that they've taken almost three years to do what they didn't need to do to begin with! I'M SO SICK OF THEM. I FEEL LIKE I'VE BEEN ROBBED OF THE ONLY THING I HAD. I OWE CHASE LESS THAN WHAT THE HOME IS WORTH SO THEY WILL GET ALL THEIR MONEY BACK IF THEY FORELCOSE AND I HONESTLY THINK THEY DID THIS ON PURPOSE TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSES THAT THAY'VE HAD TO TAKE ON THE OTHER HOMES THAT DIDN'T HAVE ANY EQUITY. If anybody knows a way that I can get help and save my home please HELP. I'm a sinlge mom and will never be able to buy a home again. I invested every cent I had to get this home for my son and I with the intention of one day leaving it to my son.

I am looking for individuals to join me in a potential Class Action lawsuit against Chase Bank for violating my home owner rights and failing to follow Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) guidelines. Ifyou were approved for the trial period, made all of your scheduled payments on time live in NYS, andthen you were denied for a modification, please contact me. joejoe1815 gmail

I've been a Bankone/Chase account holder for 20 years. I've had my share of Chase credit cards, but recently paid off our card. I paid the balance in full by the due date and then received another statement in the mail for finance charges. I called Chase to get this removed and was told no. American Express did the same thing, (sent a statement for finance charges after having the balance paid off in full) however they credited the finance charges off my account. Chase was rude, made it clear that they could care less about my tenure with them and said unless it was their error then they could not remove the charge. If $50.00 means more to my bank then my business as a whole, then my goal is to move all bank accounts out of Chase to another company. I've made sure that we carry no debt to Chase. You would expect them to care about their customers. I plan not to be one anymore.

Today when I was at work, I got a call from a foreigner who claims his name was John Edwards, which I’m pretty sure from his non-American accent that was not his birth name.
Anyhow, he tells me that he is calling from State Financial Crime Investigation Department. Number was [protected].He tells me that it’s urgent that USA Advanced which is a payday loan has filed a suit on me as theft for a loan that I have not paid. What I found Odd was that the week prior to this call, I applied online for multiple payday loans to see who would approve me. Even if I applied for the loan, my agreements were not to pay or refinance until 07/15. Today is 07/07. The two loans I have out are not by the name "USA Advanced". When I asked for more info on the loan, he tells me that he does not have that information. He then proceeds to ask me if I want to settle the matter in court or out of court. At this point I was still confused, so I said "well out of court but I need more information" So he tells me that I have to pay 345.00 today or they will take me to court which can result in them coming to my job or home. At this point I felt that something was off. So I then played his game and said, "ok, so give me 30 days to come up with it. After using several scare tactics on me, he finally said that I could fax him a promissory note with my credit card information and fax it to him.

Bull ###!

I called my attorney and she said to not give any info and get info about them and call her back and report to FTC.

I called back and he gave me the name of his company but refused to give me the address, he said that its not a public address...

Watch out people!

Thanks for posting this. We got one of these dated November 1, 2011. But ours is a non residence tax clearance fee. $2900 They gave themselves a raise I suppose!
Tax Officer: Mrs Ann Thompson
Claims Agent: Mr. Ronald Martins
Promotions director either has a PhD or is a MD: Dr. Larry Cole (appearance of respectability--I guess!)
Why doesn't Chase Morgan shut down the account? I may call them on Monday to see about that.

Tried to report this to Law Enforcement in my city. Reported to FBI, aware of the scam, have received dozens of complaints/reports regarding this particular scam. Not interested in pursuing due to budgetary constraints and difficulty in prosecuting cases operating from outside the country. Local law enforcement, local police dept. don't want to be bogged down with something like this, they suggested that I report this to the NC Attorney Generals office. I've come to the conclusion that unless it is easy and can return large sums of money to the local law enforcement, they don't want to be bothered by it. It much easier to ticket motorists and break up public demonstrations against inept government and corporations.

JPMorgan Chase is my money being stolen?? help...

Okay... Im a pretty smart person. However when it comes to financial things im just not that savvy in this department and I think I may need some help. Heres my complaint. Several times I have used the option "credit" instead of "debit" when I make a purchase. When I use debit and credit, I always check my balance and it always is taken out of my account immediately. Ok, no problem there... However when I use credit, the balance is taken out... But three or four days later, when it posts to my account it is taken out again! This has overdrawn my account several times. But it never happens when I use debit. I have called the bank twice about this on different occasions. They both have told me that "it looks like the money is taken out but its actually on hold and when it posts to the account the held money is then taken out"... Ok, no thats # because it took out of my account twice! If the funds were on hold, they would be on hold - not taken out, right? Long story short when I use credit it seems I am charged twice, because the money is taken out right away... So why is it taken out again when it posts to the account? And why does this not make any sense to me? If anyone knows the answer or has had a similar problem please email be, I wont ever check this again probably. But if I can find enough people who have this same problem and it is a scam of some sort like im thinking, please email me and let me know. This is really bothering me... Please email me and let me know if this is a valid complaint or offer an explanation of it that makes sense lol cause the workers just dont make sense to me!

JPMorgan Chase atm deposit

I deposit my State of California check every pay day in the ATM, the bank makes some funds available same day but it's not an issue. As long as you deposit by 5pm your full deposit is ready the next day. I have been doing this for 3 years, every month like clockwork. Today was Thursday June 30, 2011 the State issued checks are dated July 1, 2011. I went and deposited my check in the ATM at 9:30am as usual and it lets me review the check and accept. Immedatley on the screen pops up "THESE FUNDS ARE SUBJECT TO HOLD", I had never seen this message before but what was more disturbing was when it printed out the reciept and it said funds not available until July 5, 2011. Mind you July 4th is a holiday for EVERYONE. I immedatley panicked of course and got on the phone to ask them to remove the hold, thinking this had to be a glitch, how could there be a hold when i do the same thing every month, after 3 transfers and being hung on 3 times, i finally asked for the direct line to loss prevention which is where they were sending me. Loss prevention!? HUH WHAT?!?! WHY? When i finally get thru they ask me a number of questions, how much did you deposit, when was your last deposit...it's like hello i know you have it up on your screen! So i tell them i need the hold off by Friday morning and she tells me...well we were not trasmitted an image of the check. and i said AND? what does that have to do with me? I don't maintain your ATM's, it showed me the image and asked me if i accept! So what you are telling me is my funds are on hold until your system [censored]s out a picture of the check i deposited? Had i had not been at work i think i would have gotten a bit more upset, i told her that was not acceptable to make customers pay for THEIR error, how bout a warning on ATM's? "use at own risk a picture of your check may not transmit to us because our system is fickle and you will have to pay the consequences of not having access to you money for 4 to 5 days." basically she said funds would be available Friday at 12 midnight, which is still not ok, they needed to be available next day. I was to frustrated and annoyed to stay on the phone any longer or argue with someone who really had no control over the situation at hand. Her suggestion was for ME to call THEM back in the morning to see if MY check had finally transmitted an image to them...ITS YOUR SYESTEM WHY IS THIS MY BURDEN NOW!? My words is to just be careful, it could happen to you, i guess i got in a comfort zone, same check, same atm, same deposit ritual and bam one day, they slap a hold on it.

JPMorgan Chase chase will not release funds to repair home

My chase lost draft department nightmare

My roof was damaged by a hail storm in the middle of april 2011. It is now the end of june and the chase lost draft department has yet to release insurance funds to get my roof repaired. Since I have my mortgage with chase, the insurance check was made out to my husband and me and chase. Chase insists that the homeowners endorse the check and send it to them. They hold the money and make you and your repair contractor fill out, have notarized, and fax form after form. They make excuses as to why the forms do not meet their criteria, such as, there is not enough information or there is too much information. They will tell you that you cannot speak to a manager. I literally had one chase employee tell me, with regard to speaking to a manager, "they is all in meetings right now. A manager will call you in 24 to 48 hours. " apparently, the meetings for managers in the chase lost draft department last for days. I have requested a call from a manager twice and have never gotten one. I have placed over 20 phone calls to chase and still have no idea when I will be able to get my roof repaired.

You can fax the required forms but they cannot tell you if they received them for three business days. It takes that long for them to process a fax. So if there is something wrong with the forms, it sets you back over a week. That's if you call inquire about the forms, three days after you fax them. If you don't call, it takes three business days to process the faxed forms, then they will send you a letter in the mail telling you to fax them again, setting the whole process back two weeks.

When I told several roofing contractors, I was considering for the repair work, that I had a mortgage with chase, they each said chase is the most difficult mortgage company to deal with with regard to releasing insurance funds for home repairs, bar none.

All this waiting while my roof is leaking every time it rains. I live in coastal southern georgia where it is hot, humid and mold is a huge problem. Chase lost draft department is a homeowners worst nightmare, at a time when you are already stressed about your home being damaged.

I have never been even one day late on a mortgage payment to chase. I pay my homeowners insurance and they take insurance money so that I cannot have my home repaired?! I am moving so I will be in the market for a new mortgage within the next six months. I would never consider chase or jp morgan for my next mortgage, under any circumstance. I currently have three accounts with chase and I am closing everyone of them. Chase or jp morgan credit card? Never!

I feel for you both as we are in the same boat.
Chase is been pulling my chain since July 26, 2011 and today Nov 9, 2011 still don't have my insurance check released to me.
Today it started to snow.
At this rate I will have to file a new insurance claim to cover the damage that has occurred because they won't release the funds and won't be able to have my roof replaced til April 2012.
Word to those that are reading this. If you have a mortgage with Chase. Get it refinanced somewhere else NOW!

This is a LITTLE of what is happenig to us:
Summary:
Aug 31st a draw had been requested, check would go out within two business days.
Sept. 8th was told a check had been mailed with both names on it. It was caught in time, pulled back and a check would be reissued in our name only and go out Fed Ex today. (Because I have paid the contractor in full)
Sept. 9th was told a check had been mailed regular mail that day.
Sept 9th was told by one supervisor that the check could not be stopped because it had already been mailed.
Sept 9th was told by another supervisor that the check was still in the approval stage and had not been mailed.
Sept. 12th was told that the check had been approved and would be sent out by Fed Ex on the 12th.
Sept 13th no check.
Sept. 14th was told the check had been sent out on Sept. 13th by regular mail.
Sept . 14th was told they would stop payment on the check issued and mailed and on Sept. 15th a check would be reissued and sent out by Fed Ex.
Sept. 15th received a check, should be the one that had a stop payment placed.
Sept. 16th the file shows the stop payment went through, but new check not issued or sent out by Fed Ex.

JPMorgan Chase racist and rip off

I decided to go with Chase mortgage for my home loan. They pre approved me. I wanted to close on a home and my loan officer promised me within 30 days. My loan officer gave the papers to the underwriter who took a long time and asked for the same documents over and over. Towards the end of 30 days both my loan officer and underwriter stopped returning my calls. They wouldn't tell me what was wrong and finally I found out my loan officer quit the company and another person was assigned. I was about to loose the home since the contract was running out. I suspected Chase didnt want to give me the loan b/c of my ethnicity. My underwriter send me a email saying my loan be not approved b/c of my credit history. This wasnt a issue when I was pre approved under the same credit history. I actually paid of more credit cards and send him the proof. The new loan officer refused to work with me to see what can be done. For all this 60 days passed and they said they won't work. So if you are thinking about going with Chase Mortgage think again. You will loose your dream home you want b/c they are incompetent and worthless employees and the company is racist.

This is one of the most asinine comments that I have ever heard; this individual doesn't realize that underwriting criteria set forth by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (not Chase or other lenders) change almost daily. If I met this person, I would literally laugh in his/her face for hours at a time based on pure stupidity.

JPMorgan Chase deceptive bait and switch tactic

My boyfriend had a credit card from Chase Bank a few years back. One evening they called him and told him that since he was such good customer he had earned a credit of $500 to be received as credit to his card or in a check. Apparently they had a case back bonus program and the $500 was his bonus. I overheard the conversation and he asked them three times if this money was free and clear, which they assured him was the case. It was his to spend any way he wished because he had earned this credit.

He spent it as a credit to his account. A couple of months later he noticed a $500 charge to his account at which point he called them to question the charge. They told him that they had errored - his bonus should only have been $50, not $500. He complained and asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor said it was their error but be still needed to pay it back. He went on to claim that they had sent him a letter explaining they had errored, which they had not, and that he was obligated to pay back the "bonus" that had assured him was his to spend free and clear.

I told him not to pay it, that he should fight the charge, but he insisted on paying it so that they wouldn't charge him any additional late fees, which they had already charged him as a result of receiving and spending the $500 bonus.

I notified the state Attorney General and anyone I could find that helped consumer complaints but nobody ever responded. They are thieves and should be criminally liable for this kind of practice. I am curious to know if others have experienced this same practice.

JPMorgan Chase bill pay is a fraud

Beware! Chase bank has a glitch in their paybill system, and chase does not have the balls to correct their ### up.
I paid three bills through their pay bill system. Cox communication, tucson electric, and southwest gas. I sent "only one" payment amount to each. Chase sent two payments to tucson electric and to southwest gas. Due to the double payments, my payment to cox was reject for insufficient funds.
You would think that chase would stop the double payment on their own since it was their ### up. But no, I had to contact the utility company's myself and have them reimburse me one of the double payments for each.
Also due to their ###up and the insufficient funds, chase does send you an email through your account. However, even though they give you the option to reply, they do not have anyone to read the reply. Do they tell you this? Of course not. So you reply to tell them, on the second attempt to stop the electronic transaction to the third bill you are trying to pay, but cant, due to chases ### up in over paying other utilities and the insufficient funds. So since there is no one to read the reply a third attemp to pay the bill is made and of course it fails do to insufficient funds. Theregore chase the peice of ### bank it is, charges you $6 for the failed attempts. You call them, but of course chases again refuses to fix their ### up.
So the moral of the story, due not pay your bills through chases online pay bill system. It is a peice of ### system and chase does not have any balls to fix their ### up system nor do they care about their customers. You arte better off finding a better bank.

Half the problems involved with web sites are usually the result of the User error, most likely you simply double clicked the submit payment button or your computer did not use the web site's functions correctly. Unfortunately this has already been done and applied to being able to identify the error would be nearly impossible unless you were willing (had extra money) to submit and replicate the issue on a different computer. So in theory it is not logical to blame Chase unless you had factual proof that they indeed made an error as opposed to your computer OR the computer that you happened to be using did not work correctly. Simply stating this as it is sad when consumers spit hateful rants about companies assuming it was their error and hurting their reputation and making other consumers double think their actions based on an issue that bears no real evidence of how it happened and what may have caused it.

(Side note: I've been using bill pay features with 3 different banks including chase for years with no issue of that which was reported and it is used on a weekly basis with known working computers that have no errors as I work as a windows specialist. If you were using mac then that would explain a lot. (now that opens up a whole new bag of chips! :-D ) )

JPMorgan Chase false advertising

I am extremely dissappointed with the Trip Cancellation Policy of the Chase Sapphire card. I booked my honeymoon using the card because of its trip cancellation protection. During my second day of my honeymoon, I was notified that my cousin had been found dead in her apartment, I had to go back home the next day. I tried to get reimbursed for the monies I did not get back for having to leave early because of a death in the family. I filed a claim with their benefits people, aka, Chubb Insurance, and it was denied because I was not asking for flight reimbursement. The Trip Cancellation only covers airline tickets not hotels or resorts. This is misleading as it does not mention anywhere in their promotional materials that they do not cover hotels and resorts. Last time I knew, I did not just take a flight and stay in the airport the whole time of my “TRIP.” I am so dissappointed that I am considering canceling my card as I feel they are being misleading with their benefits program.

JPMorgan Chase took away my credit card

Me and My wife had a Checking account with Wamu in Seal Beach Ca. I had a Debt card, which was not problem. I applied for a Credit card ( Wamu ) and was denied unless I backed up the credit card with $ 500.00 secrutiy. I said fine and I received the Credit card, I had the card for about a month, and received a letter that CHASE had bought Wamu, fine, and I would receive a credit card from Chase at some time. I never did, fine. so I just left it alone...well today I went to X-Wamu ( Chase ) and asked for a Chase credit card...no you have no credit in the USA...I said fine take 500.00 to 5, 000 or what ever you want for securtiy, well the answer was Chase does not do that...I don't believe that. but ok... JPMorgan Chase harassing phone calls

Chase home mortgage [protected]) just keeps calling to solicit business. I get 4 phone calls each day, including weekends, on my home phone. They refuse to stop calling, and once when I asked what it would take to get them to stop, the caller said "a court order" and hung up. Verizon will only help me if I am willing to go to court, a route which I am starting to consider. My wife has asked her attorney to get involved and i'm afraid to ask how much this will cost us, but so far the attorney has been ineffective at stopping the harassing phone calls.

JPMorgan Chase horrible system / poor customer service

Just a fair warning that this system is NOT "Quick", nor are you likely to get paid. This bank hold the money in abeyance until two small deposits can be made into your account and then (supposedly) they will release the total funds. Won't happen, especially if you, as the receiver of the funds, are not a Chase Bank customer. And to top it all off, their horrible customer service department - who are apparently outsourced - cannot be understood, and are not going to help resolve the problem at all. They just don't care, and are free to treat people like crap, because nobody can track them down to chastise them. In the end, after spending 3 hours of my life on the phone, I canceled all incoming funds and completely deleted my account. I also plan on getting rid of any credit cards associated with Chase.

JPMorgan Chase payment problems

I have done everything possible I know to get my payment on time to Chase Health Advance and I am the lose every single time. I am a teacher and I am payed once a month. I pay all of my bills on the 30th or the first of the month and they all receive my payments except these people because of the penalties. I have tried calling to change the date, make the payment over the phone, give them a blank check to make the deduction every month and it is always a no or a penalty. I made the payment on line and they said they did not receive it. I registered the letter and it got there on the 5th but they were closed just one hour earlier, why was I surprised. I am now paying a $500.00 interest fee. I am so upset I tried calling and they just said "too bad". I am disgusted by this company. There is no where to go to pay in person, there is nobody to talk to that does not say "too bad". I even tried pleading and asking them what I could do to rectify the problem and the supervisors response was make 2 payments at once and that would put me a month ahead and guess what? They took that payment as one month and charged me again. If I am able to I am going to contact every company that uses Chase Health Advance and tell them what a despicable company they are using.

JPMorgan Chase modification scam

I just saw a spot on TV last night regarding a lady that was strung out by Chase Mortgage with the promise of a Mortgage Modification for months and months. I was hospitalized for several months with an illness and exhausted my emergency fund. I am now back on my feet and making rapid progress toward bringing all my finances into good order - except for the Chase Mortgage.

Their process is to suspend your mortgage so you can't make a payment if you want to do so and send you piles of paperwork, which they lose repeatedly. Since the mortgage is in a suspended state the late payments continue to accrue while they "process the modification." Then if you are accepted into the program you are instructed to make adjusted monthly payments for varying monthly periods. Mine is 3 and I just paid the 3rd. The issue is that they are using this period of several months to string you out for months of back payments and then they decline you and foreclose. This is an extremely fraudulent process and should be investigated. I want be holding my breath. I could have brought my mortgage current early on but their optimistic assessment of my case got me into a serious problem. I have been in my home for 16 years and never thought I would be in this kind of situation. Chase Mortgage is simply a government driven crooked entity and if you can avoid ever doing business with them then I would do so. Of course they have no risk, they have Obama to bail their rotten ### out.

Chase Mortgage LLC is the worst company I have ever dealt with, they border on the criminal.
They lie all the time, change their story everytime I called, and reported nonexistant accounts to the credit companies.
I have 2 years worth of documentation of all the cr@p they put me through, and now I have to deal with the credit company to clear my record.
NEVER EVER EVER go to these jerks for anything!

JPMorgan Chase claims department screwed me

Someone used my bank account to fund a gambling website. I filed a claim at chase bank. They said there is nothing they would do because the fraudulant charges came from a gambling website. They also said I only had 60 days to recover the funds. During the start of this time they ran me around in circles. Saying i needed to send them a signed form. Then they never sent me the form. After 30 days of this they finally sent me the form. I filled it out and faxed it back immediately. Then they said it was over 60 days. Then they said it was a gambling site and they would do nothing to help me.. UNREAL how piss poor my banks claims people are.. I contacted this gambling site and they said they would do nothing, that my bank would have to charge them back. When I told my bank this they said they would do nothing.. UNREAL.. It is like this gambling site knew that my piss poor claim department at my bank would do nothing... MY BANK SCAMMED ME HERE!

JPMorgan Chase fraudulent mortgage scam!!!

I'd been severely injurred in a "Hit & Run" auto accident and lost my job. I went into Chase Bank to help only to lower my % rate and mortgage payment since economy is low and % has really lowered. I'd heard about all the "Obama" lower % & lower mortgage payment plans and asked for their help. They gave me abunch of paperwork saying it all would help do that. I filled it all out, submitted documents over and over for months and months and finally told me I was denied 6mos later. Then behind my back without permission, they paid my property taxes before they were even due. I'd never been late on my mortgage or my property taxes. Then when I paid them the Tax Collectors office said it was already paid and they did that with my Home Owners Insurance too. I found out, that through some legal sneaky fraudulent way, they could do that and take your home right out from underneath you! Luckily I caught it all in time and am still fixing it calling and writing letters everywhere! I had to get advice from an attorney. Don't let this Happen to you!

JPMorgan Chase holding insurance funds

Online instructions are simple to get the insurance check processed to receive 1/3 of funds. After a month of run around about paperwork and then being told I MUST complete 50% of repairs to my home using my savings and retirement accounts (which wiped me out financially) I did so and according to "their" adjuster I reached 55% completion. In the state I live in MA we have a choice of "general contracting" any and all work being done on our homes, which I choose to do, always have, allows better control in getting the best workers.

So now I have no money left and have fallen 3 months behind on my mortgage. Chase collection dept. calls daily and transfers me to their loss draft dept. to hear the same story each time. Now I need to either catch up on my payments or get to 90% completion be for they release ANY funds. At this point neither can be done. So I live with my minor child in a house of mold that is unfinished.

On December 24, 2009 the water heater in my home went. There was 40 gallons of water on the first floor of my home. Called the insurance, GECO, and they were great about getting people out to help us. The claim was settled and the check issued at the end of February 2010.
Then we had to send the check to Chase Loss Draft Dept. That is where the nightmare began, and still continues, over 8 months later. The first time the claim was sent in (FEDEX) they claimed to never have received them. Then when I got proof of delivery, they claimed to only have received some of the papers that were enclosed.
I faxed everything to them a few days later. We were told that in 3 to 5 days we would have our money.

With that we start looking at kitchens, since that is where the majority of the damage happened. Mold was found in the walls that seperate the utility room from the kitchen. Everything in the kitchen had to be ripped out down to the studs in the wall.

We went to Ikea to get the kitchen. This way we could stay within our small budget. Submitted the papers to Chase and they said, again it would take another week or so to get the funds. The money never came.
Called them again. They claimed to not have the papers, AGAIN!

This kept happening over and over again. They lose EVERYTHING! Finally, in July, YES JULY, there was some repair work that had to be done by our homeowner association. The town building inspector came to see what was done, and we were told that our child could not live with us because we did not have a functioning kitchen. (we had no sink) He was going to write us up and in 30 days would have to start paying fines, also CPS would be called.
Told Chase about what they had done to us and the fines that they would have to pay...SURPRISE! Within 3 days our check showed up.
How are they allowed to operate like this?

JPMorgan Chase high fees

The JP Morgan Chase Bank in Tujunga, CA, charges $6.00 to cash any check by a "non-customer" says branch manager Marsha Kouyoumjian. Marsha Kouyoumkian goes on to state that it doesn't matter if the check is $50 or $5, Chase Bank will still charge you $6.00 fee so if you have a check for $5 you would owe them $1. Today, I was charged $6 to cash a $60 check. That is a 10% check cashing fee. It kind of seems like highway robbery to me. Don't cash your checks at Chase unless you want to get ripped off! http://bankfraudblogspot.blogspot.com/

@ TheLoveFist V It may not be relevant, but it is TRUE. :)

I'm really surprised a moderator would butt in on the conversation and actually resort to name-calling. You guys would probably get along well with Alan Greenspan and the entire derivatives market.

@Ellen Saying that you would get annoyed at a non-account holder at a bank really speaks volumes about your character and your patience. How do you know that the check-casher is "cheap?" Maybe they are newly divorced and had their bank account in their husband's name.

As Henry said, "It's a legitimate complaint. No service is being provided to the check casher. The service is being provided to the check writer only. They are safeguarding their funds for them. Part of the service being provided is cashing the check to the person it has been written to. If you can't understand this, you must be a bank employee or shareholder."

Update by JohnQuest

Henry is a smart man. Charging someone a fee to cash a check written by their own customer is like charging someone who accept a Christmas present and pay the sales tax on it. It's already been taken care of by the customer. First, the customer had to order the checks. There is a fee associated with that with most banks. The bank earns interest on the money the customer keeps in their bank. It's just another way to rob people of their hard earned cash. If you don't agree with me you probably don't work for a living and/or were raised with a silver-spoon in your mouth and live off a trust fund or your husband's money ;)

Ellen, I understand the game. I was playing the game back with Chase. I had just read a financial book about how to save money on little fees that add up to quite a bit in the long run if you aren't paying attention and was attempting to use the author's advice about requesting a fee waiver. A lot of his techniques, most of them, have worked marvelously. This instance it didnt work. The excuses that Marsha K. gave for why she couldn't do it were pretty lame. "If I do it for you, then I have to do it for everybody that comes in here." "If I do it, then I have to explain to my bosses why I did it, I need a really good reason." "If the check was $10 less I could have waived the fee." At first, she said she couldn't do it at all and the computer wouldn't let her so she lied to me. I'm just exposing the hypocrisy and lies spouted by banks and managers like Marsha for virtue's sake. Her demeanor, lies, and tone are not what I would expect from a professional bank manager. This branch also has terrible reviews on Yelp.com I'm just calling a spade a spade. You get ahead in business by providing competitive service that delivers every single time you interact with that business. Chase has shown it does not run a competitive business that delivers every single time. Other banks like ING Direct and New Resource Bank are adding extra value and service to their customers and I think discerning consumers will see this and make the change. Others in the Eco-Conscious movement will go with banks like New Resource who don't fund big oil projects and keep their hands clean. Someone close to me almost has me closing my B of A account and heading to New Resource Bank. In closing, I don't charge my clients when they ask for change :)

@ILC3 I travel the world and attend the best parties with the most spiritual, humble, and down to earth people. I don't think I would call that a lonely existence. I'm in one of the best cities in America right now, San Francisco, working for a non-profit on a contract job for two weeks. I perform in front of audiences of hundreds and thousands of people on a bi-weekly basis. I'd hardly call my life lonely. In fact, sometimes, I just want some time to myself. Good try though... projection is a B%^$&!

Ellen, banks make money based on the total amount of money their customers put into their accounts through loans and investments. It's not like they aren't making money off their customers if they don't charge any fees,

Ellen, while I can appreciate your humor, if I wanted to take it to my bank I could have. The reason I took it to Chase was because it was a Chase bank check and I wanted to cash it at their bank. What's wrong with that? The reason for the complaint was because of the arrogant attitude and the lack of customer service treatment I received from the bank. I gladly took my next check to B of A and opened an account up with them right down the street and they haven't treated me with the contempt or sarcasm I received from Marsha Kouyoumkian at Chase Bank in Tujunga . I paid thousands of dollars in servicing fees to Chase Bank on student loans and I'm not about to pay them any more money. They literally are the worst bank in the world. People complain about B of A but they are a breath of fresh air compared to Chase.

Don't namecall. I don't do it. Stick to your point. And don't use profanity. I don't do that, either. I kept changing banks to avoid Bank of America and they kept being bought by Bank of America. I know about banks consuming one another. Who is my current bank? Bank of America.

Chase is just horrible in general. The only thing positive about them is their technology. I was a Wahington Mutual customer and became Chase customer against my will when they took WaMu over. my credit card went from 4.2% to 14.9% without notice and without reason! As soon as I get everthing where I can, I am moving to a smaller bank that is solid and doesn't run the risk of being consumed by the blue demon.
